It started with an exceptional dry martini and ended with a frozen mint chocolate chip lollipop stuck in an after eight box. In between was courses and courses of deliciousness, served by lovely relaxed, knowledgeable, passionate team. Don’t spoil the surprises by reading reviews. just go, It is worth it.

We were recommended to visit and we did. Overall 8/10, whilst the food was good it was over priced dor what we had. Starters paticularly expense for what we were served. Good service and good location but pricing needs to be reviewed. The previous weekend we had the same quality Sunday roast in Towcester, great service at 25% lower. That's all.

Popped in today for fish and chips to take to the beach and eaten out of the paper (no better way to experience the seaside) The fish was huge and beautifully cooked. Batter was tasty and fish thick, long and flaky......perfect! Chips were great too. So much food even the dog got a bit (and she loved it too) Highly recommended and can't wait to return.

Visited the Pepper Mill the other day with friends and had a great time. I had the sirloin and my friends had the flat iron steak and a risotto which we were all very pleased with. Our server Tania also did a lovely job and made our visit even more enjoyable.

We had a very enjoyable meal here. The pizzas were delicious and a good size. The service provided by Fred and the team was exceptional - we were made to feel very welcome and the birthday 'extras' were greatly appreciated. Thank you! We can thoroughly recommend the pizza restaurant :-)

I’m new to the area, had been in a few times, the food was nice, queuing for a coffee was a first for me, nice place everything was fine, went in the second time asked for poached eggs? Felt like I’d hit a nerve? I was told “we don’t do em”. My friend was shocked, he actually said “a cafe that don’t do poached eggs?” I can understand the we are too busy to faff about, are they not really 100% cafe people? I just thought they wanted a. Easy life? Queue for coffee get your own cutlery, give me an apron I’ll cook it as well!! Shame really could be SO MUCH BETTER! See if it’s improved this summer? It appeared there’s all walks of life uses this cafe maybe it’s not just me who has a gripe with this CAFE. PS I’m not slating the food.

Lovely afternoon tea @ Sheraton Grand’s Palm Court. We really enjoyed the sandwiches (especially the brioche buns) and scones with homemade preserves. The cakes weren’t as good, but the excellent and attentive service from Sadia made our afternoon. A pianist played every hour, which was lovely!

Visited for a late lunch on a Wednesday, a few people in the bar making a pleasant atmosphere, fire lit and friendly staff. Local beer was good. Meals were all nice, and value for money, will return. Food was available 12 - 9. Tip. If you all want a drink and don't want to drive the 555 from kendal drops you off/picks up outside the door, making it an easy accessible place to visit.

Me and my partner stayed in Room 4 on 10th July. It's very expensive for what you are getting. The room was absolutely boiling, had to open window wide open, and have a fan on all night and still too hot, so I barely slept. The room is also very dated and needs refurbished for the price. Dinner was nice but long wait and again overpriced for pub food. Breakfast was disappointing, coffee disgusting, bacon dry and tough, cold beans and black pudding tough as old boots.

A most enjoyable experience on a beautiful afternoon. Great location and quite unusual eating on a barge. Service was excellent…personal, efficient and friendly. The food was delicious too, tasty and so refreshing to see a roasted monkfish on the menu and a caramelised shallot tart with all the trimmings, rather than just red meats. We will be back when next in London.
