came in last week for the first time for a sausage and bacon baguette have to say first class and people friendly not sure what people mean its a greasy café ??? its not pretending to be the ritz its a café what do you expect from it, its part of what its all about if you want to have a rubber tasting product pop along to McDonalds this is all cooked in front of you

Visited Jenkins café today very nice food, I ordered the Colchester special for £14.25 which was delicious , This comes with a hot drink, The food came very quickly, The service/ staff was 10/10, Highly recommend visiting. 👌

Express Breakfast: Everything was cooked nice and very hot as it should be. The cooking time was very fast and the staff members were friendly. As a Food Critic all the time time I have to criticise something... The mushrooms did not have much flavour... The tables at 10am vere not clean enough... The flies starts to fly around the restaurant but the restaurant has got fly control light machine... Food Critic (private) I will comeback to Jenkins Cafe & Restaurant one day!

Just the breakfast i needed. Fried slice and bubble included. Lots of set breakfasts or just make your own. Vegetarian ones also available. Lunch menu looks good too. Waitress was absolutely lovely.

Lovely clean place very clear pricing and food ingredients very large portions for a reasonable price me and my partner shared and omlette and chips which came with side salad or beans we got both for an extra £1.00 very reasonable I had a lovely iced caramel latte they offer such a wide range of food child friendly have high chairs available and toilet and changing facilities can not fault this place would recomend to everyone as such a wide range

I used to live in colchester, but think this has changed hands since then.Had to return this month for an appointment, and needed breakfast. So impressed by the price, quality and quantity here. Not often a breakfast beats me.Also had one of the best cuppas ever.Seen a review commenting on £7+ for breakfast... fella get a life.. £6.95 & £7.95 granted, but these included 2 x toast and a hot drink!!Both of which usually at £2 to your bill in Colchester... where one sausage, one bacon, one egg and a tablespoon of beans (costimg £9.99) = full english in some cafes, just because they they knew the name of the Pig!!Not so in Jenkins Cafe. Hottest meal I've been served in a long time, all freshly cooked.We will be back!!

I've been here so many times and everytime, without fail, food and service is perfect. The chefs are great and the waitress is beyond friendly, she deserves her own mention! This place is great!

For those of you who are struggling for a proper cafe in Colchester, this is for you. Finding a cafe that’s decent anywhere is hard enough but I’ll definitely be coming back. This place will be my go to. Staff were helpful, quick, food was piping hot, very reasonably priced and on the table in no time. Remember guys - just give people extra chips, leave off the hash browns, its still very reasonable! I had a massive “Colchester Breakfast” which is shown below (less the hash browns as I just couldn’t eat it), hot beverage and toast, bargain. I went here with the wife and my daughter and we were all stuffed for around 25 quid. Keep up the hard work. The only minor constructive criticism is to try and be more flexible when people want to substitute certain items or drinks, people won’t mind paying a bit more for what they want. See you next time! Well done!!

Large portions, quick service and a friendly face. Only downside is the price is just a couple quid higher than most places. Recommended.

Breakfeast is what the cafe is for and moving to Colchester from London we thought we would track one down in the town (or city as it is now). its out of the way from the high street just opposite the carpark so easy to get to. we had the mushroom omelette with salad, it realy is large portions. Then i was going to order the full English but 2 things made me change my mind, first the cost! £7.90 for a cafe...no, second they don't do fried bread.!!!.no. Even in and around london they charge no more than £6 for a cafe breakfast. That said the service was very good and the cafe was very clean, we would recommend to eat here.

The restaurant is in Colchester nearly opposite Wilko near bus station. The staff are friendly. They do roast meal. Burgers, curry and rice or chips and English breakfast it's just £6.99 per roast meal. The drinks wasnt included on price. The plates is huge, so good for huge appetite. I ordered kebab with salad and rice and my husband ordered shepherd pie with roast potatoes and vegetables. He finished it and enjoyed it. We will comeback again.

Great freshly cooked food..it is a cafe..but quality is better than most..we had lunch/brunch..which everyone enjoyed..good value for money.

Popped in for a coffee. The staff are so friendly here. We did not have time to eat but had we had time we would have for sure. Looking at the good size portions and the food coming out of the kitchen it looked delicious. No frills just good food and service.

My husband and i were out in town today and was looking everywhere for an all day breakfast that was a reasonable price.We have passed Jenkins cafe many times and have never thought to go in.But as we were going to shop in Icelands i thought we may as well give this a try.At 3pm its hard to find a cafe that still does breakfast at a cheap price.

I visit Jenkins Cafe quite often mainly on a Saturday for my favourite meal frankfurter Grill, I also enjoy the Cheese burgers and Brown Derby for sweet....there is a whole range of food on the menu so plenty of choice plus children and vegetarian are catered for as well.

popped in whilst in town..I had a mixed grill..which was a nice size..Chicken Burger and chips was also good..other friend had curry..and was not impressed..

I have been coming to this restaurant for three years now and have always been impressed with the food, the friendly service and the immaculate hygiene. I cannot fault the cleanliness of the cutlery and tables. It ticks all the boxes for me. I highly recommend this cafe.

Detenido por Colchester antes de ir al zoo para encontrar algo para el desayuno y este fue el primer lugar que encontramos. Fue la mejor comida que he tenido. Pedí el tocino y rollo de huevo. Era tan fresco y cocinado a la perfección. Después comí que tuve que volver y pedir otro. Puré de patata que hizo perfectamente como mi muy exigente de 3 años realmente quería. El personal era muy amable y acogedor. Mi marido dijo que era el mejor café que tenía ya que estando en Inglaterra. Nos hemos estado alojando en Londres. Cualquiera que viene aquí tiene que comer aquí! ! !

This place always seems busy and for good reason. Well priced, its a great option for breakfast or lunch when in town. There's not a great deal of room if you have a pram or wheelchair but that shouldn't stop you from visiting. We have had breakfast here on numerous occasions and the service is polite, the food comes quickly and a decent portion for what you pay. Remember it is a cafe not a fancy restaurant but you get more than you pay for here and I recommend it highly for a quick cheap hearty breakfast.

Another really good breakfast...everytime I visit I am pleasantly surprised how good it is....has a large varied menu....but I have only tried breakfast.

The staff treat you like family and nothing is too much trouble. Even though only a cafe there is a large menu that caters for most. The portions are large and the food really is excellent. If you are out for a snack or a full blown meal, this is the place.

Met a local businessman for breakfast we both had a cooked breakfast. It was as expected, cheap ingredients, cooked well service was with a smile. It's not really for me, I'd rather have sausages that are not akin to being battered and served with chips. They are busy and doing well, so if it's not broke don't fix it. There are plenty of places that use cheap food and cook it badly so they are ahead of the game.

Stopped in here for lunch, and MY GOODNESS! Great quality food at such reasonable prices! Came quickly with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. To top it off prome spot for parking or bus travel & free wifi. Looking forward to next visit!

Had lunch with my wife and the food was very good and very reasonably priced. The service was excellent and all in all it was a very pleasant experience. I will certainly go back there again and if you have a fairly large appetite it is definitely the place to go.

Always come here for a cheeky fry up! You can add whatever you want to your breakfast the portions are big - perfect for a hangover! The staff are great too!
