The best restaurants serving British food in England

Really great atmosphere and food. Wish we’d been in earlier because the shops looked good too. We got food from Okie Poke and the pizza place - which I can’t find listed on the directory. Both were great! Got a drink from The Little Prince - also really nice.

Food was great, all very very nice. I had the seafood platter as did my husband and everything from the starter to the cheeseboard was great. Fantastic view out the back of the fields, wonderful on a warm summer evening.

Another cracking Roast Dinner. Never had a bad one. A perfect way to spend a lazy sunny Sunday afternoon. A hidden gem. Well worth a visit.

This is a fantastic pub! Light and bright, spacious and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to us and our two dogs. We phoned ahead and requested to stay in their carpark overnight with our motorhome which is free of charge (this pub is on Brit Stops - all they ask is that you pop in for a drink and introduce yourself!). We both had a meal and stayed for drinks as they were in no hurry for us to leave at the end of the night. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this pub - many thanks to Christian and his fab staff for such a warm reception. We will be back...

Went back after last year's fantastic sandwich and service but have to say after looking forward to having my sandwich it was a complete let down this time. The food was not as good and the portion sizes were smaller and the price was £3 more for the 2. Sorry to say I will not be back again and would not recommend. 😔

Stunning from the time you drive up the long driveway . The room was nice with spectacular views across the fields . We went on some lovely walks around the hotel grounds . Breakfast was perfect with delicious freshly cooked food .

Great pub, friendly staff and reasonably priced beer. Definitely worth a visit if you like a good local pub.

The food served here is nothing short of amazing. I would rate it higher than the Ivy. Absolutely amazing and attention to detail on service and quality was first class.

Didn’t book a table so would next time or tho we waited . was definitely worth the wait only 40 minutes staff were all amazing nothing was to much trouble . and the food was so tasty service was fast really enjoyed the experience exceptional thank u very much . We ordered a roast beef dinner and cheeseburger highly recommended.

Absolute Gem of a Freehouse pub. Made very welcome by the Landlord, Charlie and the family. Food only at the weekends. The quintessential village pub!

I absolutely love this pub. I was taken for a wonderful Mother's Day lunch as a surprise, and everything was as good as last time we visited. I love the pub itself, oldy worldy with the beams and fantastic candle art. The old fashioned radio plays great music. The staff are always so friendly, attentive and efficient. The food, once again was amazing. First time I've had the roast and it was so fresh, about 6 different types of veg and really thick succulent slices of pork. Both our plates were clean!!!!! Pudding wise I had the biscoff sundae!!!! To die for, and I ate the lot. They serve great Guinness and my fave Rose Zinfandel. Doggy friendly so we can always take the dogs. Just a perfect pub that can't be improved upon in my opinion!!!!

I was fortunate enough to come to the Wingrove as a treat for my 40th birthday celebrations. Our friends had previously been and said how lovely it was- it did not disappoint! 3 of us had the fillet steak and 1 had the lamb!! The fillet steak was the BEST I’ve ever had, the taste was amazing! It melted it your mouth and was perfectly cooked! The portions were generous and filling! The puddings were also wonderful and the taste was lovely! The waitress was extremely accommodating and we weren’t waiting long for anything! The Wingrove will definitely be our ‘go to’ restaurant for special occasions in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
