Toby Carvery in Coventry

Great food and staff loved the breakfast and dinner the night before as we had stayed on the car park the previous evening

Jo on the bar is argumentive and doesn't listen, and she knows best! Bad start! Almost tried to charge us for extra veggie sausage as "you only get two," so we had to explain we got four yesterday. It is a UNLIMITED breakfast unless you're a veggie. It seems you must now pay for extra veggie sausages. We said we would sit in the bar area as the pub is always too hot, Jo said you can't sit there, as the bar area is closed off and there was nowhere to sit in the bits of the resturant that was open! So we sat in the restaurant area that was closed off by chairs. Next, the manager bounced over to us and said we couldn't sit there as the cleaner needed to clean. It was clean. The manager said the cleaner will be cleaning soon (so the pub cleaner cleans the pub when the pub is open? Realy?). The pub is half shut off, and they are turing customers away! The pubco needs to look at the CCTV and take some action. Next, some poor guys came in to be told the pub is full, the manager is completely disingenuous, and I told her we are doing a review about our poor experience. She said good! she shouted at us and told us to get a refund. Crazy! Crazy! It's not surprising there is a lack of staff if that's how you speak to customers. Jo then pipped up. "I don't get paid enough for this. im going to leave!" The welcome from the barking aggressive dog on the roof is really very welcoming. The manager needs some diversity and customer service training.

Always good always consistent the staff are friendly and welcoming that’s why we always go when we can. Highly recommended

Great place to meet up with family for a catch up. We came for a birthday meal with our sister and had a wonderful time. The service was great and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The waitress Becky was kind enough to take a photo for us, which we rarely have. Everything was great, staff were friendly and we were made to feel at ease.

Served by Lucy, we had an excellent time for my wife’s birthday. Food was brilliant and customer service by all staff was superb! Special shout out to Lucy for helping with a surprise cake for my wife.

Our waitress was Becky. She was wonderful throughout and attentive to all. She checked on us multiple times throughout our visit to make sure we were happy and our drinks were topped up. The chef serving on the carving station was a delight. He was friendly and made time to chat to us while we were serving up our meals. We were told his name was Joshua. We came as a group of 2 couples for a catch up after many years apart and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and felt most welcome by all.

A family birthday me out which was wonderful. Happy, friendly staff. Great selection of perfectly cooked food. Seated straight away even though we hadn’t booked. Was nice to see some of the hierarchy there discussing much needed improvements to the building aswell. We look forward to visiting again

Wonderful breakfast and Michell who was the sole waitress was superb. She was efficient, friendly and delt with a full resturant by herself ...a credit to to Toby Inns.

A great venue for families and excellent roast dinner we are regular regulars here and the staff are so kind and friendly that’s why we always go back

We arrived and all was well, we were taken to a table at the back of the restaurant which was fine but no internet coverage, this was ok. We then went to get our meal when we were waiting to be served I asked for Pork and Beef, mine was put onto the plate and my friend behind asked for the same thing. I looked back and the Pork was not cooked in the middle, I pointed this out to my friend and we both told the chef to remove the meat from the plate and we would have beef. The vegetables were both over cooked and hard, I am unsure how they had managed to do this but there you are. Once back at the table we tried to eat our meals, the beef was full of fat and tough, I pushed it to the side of my plate. I do understand that this is a cost effective way to go out for food, but my friend had a small white wine which was £6.50 and i had a coke was £4.00 so i am sure that the cost of the drinks make up for the economical meals. If the reason for the really poor food is cost they would do better to charge more for food and at least you could have a reasonable meal. This was really disappointing.

Food was ok, drinks were fine. The car park entrance is badly signposted and difficult to find when driving in the dark. This should be made more visible as the Tony Carvery placard on Chester Road doesn’t stand out to catch the eye. Staff very very keen to charge you and have you out of the door even before fully finished. The food was the reason this is a 4 star overall review, particularly as there was a well priced deal happening during the week of the visit. The Sheldon branch is better than this one though.

There was a great choice of veg on offer and the meats were all really tasty. The waitress recommended the chocolate pancakes as a pudding and we weren’t disappointed. The girl serving us, Becky, was lovely and really helped us in our choices. An overall great visit.

The breakfast here was great. The young chef was chatty and friendly and kept everything topped up as quick as he could. The young lady serving us was friendly and checked on us and cleared everything promptly. We haven’t visited for breakfast before but we will come back more frequently

We had an absolutely amazing experience here. The food was out of this world, the drinks were flowing and the whole visit was just superb. The stand out for us was our waitress Becky. She was EXCELLENT! From start to finish she had us laughing and joking, constantly topping up our drinks, helping us out with carrying meals, just anything possible that we needed. We could not recommend this place enough, especially when you have staff members that are as much of a pleasure as she is.

Yet another family meal at Stonebridge. Another great experience consisting of fabulous food and wonderful service. It always seems busy here which is testament to the great atmosphere and staff that work here. The food is always on point. No complaints here

We came for my sisters birthday breakfast and we were most impressed. The waitress was smiling constantly and friendly. She kept al of the breakfast items topped up as did the breakfast chef. It was a really great morning.

We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food here. I am vegetarian and the vegetarian option that I had (Spinach and Mushroom Pithivier) was absolutely delicious. My husband's carvery meat was lovely too and wasn't dry at all. The Yorkshire puddings were absolutely massive and all the veg and sides were amazing too. It was nice to see sides such as mac and cheese as this usually isn't seen on a carvery. We also had a dessert each and these were also second to none! The staff were incredibly polite and helpful (I was asking how many units was in the wine I wanted and there went out of their way to find this out for me). 10/10! We will definitely be visiting again.

The most awful experience eating out we had here at this establishment.. the most intimidating, rude and threatening blonde haired female waitress .. HR NEED MYSTERY CUSTOMERS ASAP ... all because we moved table being to hot and unwell .. the carvery station was dried up no meat left so looked end of night .. .. we’d already had the last scraps of beef..very loud waitress screaming insulting us and humiliating us in front of other diners .. as I went to get male manager for help to deal with her uncomfortable outburst she said to my partner you didn’t get my permission to move.... after challenging us as we we’re so hot .. she crazily said to him I’m not giving you anymore warnings now to move and then decided to converscate our full dinner plates of full food including my 12 year old sons and threw them in the bin back in the kitchen.. we turned they stole our drinks..there were no reservation notices at where we sat to cool down..and it was near 8pm..so humiliated and shocked at what she did we looked for help from other staff ..but nothing then our drinks were taken away off the table too and they carried on ignoring us like we were never there.. I challenged the waitress as I left .. to be then shouted at and called “ a load of Di@ckheads”....we were the customer dining with our son .. just quietly not wanting an audience..absolutely disgraceful we’ve felt so upset for days after this experience as her abhorrent aggressive behaviour towards us came from nowhere in seconds!.. with the manager on duty taking orders from her and not assisting us or supporting as customers ..we are appalled. It’s really shocked us to the core as we did nothing wrong and dine regularly at other Toby’s nearby here please not the male manager on duty on the night witnessed her and her calling our family Di&kheads.

We were blown away by the service we received, especially the kind, compassionate service we received with our son. We rarely eat out at he is a handful, especially at the dining table. Our waitress managed to keep him calm and helped out at all times during our meal, so much we even got a full meal without having to chase him round! We were astonished. She helped him choose his meal, made sure he had the sauce he requested and even got him an ice cream to say well done for being so well behaved. We were absolutely over the moon. It made two anxious parents feel very at ease. An absolute angel in disguise! Thankyou to Becky, from the cooper family!

visited here after a show at the NEC. We stayed for 2 nights on the carpark in our motorhome. All of the staff made us feel welcome. We had breakfast and an evening meal and both were wonderful. The all you can eat breakfast was a great start to a busy day and the carvery was the perfect end to it. On both occasions we were served by a blonde lady. She was courteous and very helpful, which made our visit even better. We have never stayed on this particular site before but we will be back in future and would definitely spread the word.
