Excellent service and food. Booked for Sunday Lunch. Was not disappointed, obviously passionate about the provenance of meat and the quality could not be faulted.

We were staying next to the Bryherstones so we went twice to this traditional country inn. The first time we had drinks outside the cosy beer garden and the second time we were invited in by the friendly and welcoming landlord to the pet friendly area for food. We ordered the chicken with veg and stilton sauce and the haddock goujons and chips. The food was delicious. We had a good bottle of Malbec red wine too. Our husky enjoyed his free treats. We really enjoyed our experience and recommend you give it a try.

Another amazing meal. Can't fault anything about it. Had the the best smoked salmon pate I've ever eaten followed by brie wrapped in palma ham served with delicious salad. Husband had his usual prawn cocktail and Sally's famous steak pie ( his go to which was as good as ever apparently!) Daughter, smoked salmon then ham & eggs, she loved them both. Would highly recommend food & service always excellent.

What a gem of a place this turned out to be! The welcome was warm and cheerful (dare I say, typical Yorkshire?) It's the sort of place where the landlord makes a point of introducing himself, which is a nice touch. I would have been happy with the atmosphere alone but then the food turned out to be wonderful too! I was on my own this time, but will be back with the family

We booked a table as this was a highly rated place for a roast dinner near Scarborough. I had called ahead and enquired about vegetarian roast dinner options for my girlfriend. On the phone I was assured there were multiple options and although this technically was the case, neither were necessarily the best accompaniments for a roast (stuffed pepper and stuffed pasta). The service was great and we had a lovely table in a corner and the atmosphere was cozy and great. I ordered the beef roast dinner and my girlfriend ordered the stuffed peppers with a roast. The food came relatively quickly. The selection of vegetables was nice and was a welcomed change to have red cabbage and cheesy leeks although they would have been a bit more generous with the portion size as it was to share between the 2 of us. It would have also been nice to have some optional extras on the menu like a portion of cauliflower cheese. The roast dinner also only came with 2 roast potatoes which were really big but would have preferred 3 or 4 smaller ones. It came with a jug of gravy however it was meat gravy and there was not a vegetarian alternative but luckily my girlfriends stuffed peppers were quite saucy so her dinner wasn't dry. My beef was nice however it was slightly chewy and could have been hotter coming out and was only kept warm by hot gravy. Bit of an irrelevant side note but the loos were really nice! Everything else was really lovely and we did have a nice meal and I appreciate it is a small country pub in Scarborough but if you advertise as vegetarian friendly then I think it needs to follow through fully - for example being advised they don't have a veggie gravy upon ordering the dinner or even having a veggie alternative. I'm sorry to be negative, especially when we did have such a lovely time (hence the 4 stars) bu my girlfriend has been vegetarian for 5 years and situations like these feel very frustrating and easily avoidable if staff are more aware and informed.

Very disappointed and frustrated. Unfortunately my wife and I left Saltmoore 1 night early due to a number of issues that were not resolved. I’ll keep this review purely objective to give a clear and honest picture with the below issues causing major concern. 1. Empty shower gel/shampoo when checking in - left empty again after room service and we had to phone and ask… 2. Was a dog friendly room but had not been cleaned. Dog hair all over the couch and floor 3. Hearing would NOT turn off. No solution offered except a fan. We barely slept at all due to this. 4. 1 teaspoon… 2 mugs 5. Understaffed and no sign of management guiding team. Bars were unmanned and you’d have to go and find someone each time. 6. Staff seemed unsure and possibly not well trained in hospitality. 7. No bath robes available in spa morning of Sunday April 20th 8. No warming communal spaces in the hotel Some of these issues could have been resolved immediately and others should not have been there in the first place. There’s no excuse for any of these frankly. For £340 per night and a hotel that positions itself as premium it was far, far off the mark. We stay in premium hotels around the world and understand the intricacies of premium service. If you position yourself as such you must deliver. Booked for 3 nights and left after 2 as it was day after day of the same issues. I’d like to shout out the beautifully kind lady at reception who was exceptional at her role but her time was spent firefighting and not adding that extra value she brings. I cannot recommend Saltmoore and hope there are changes in order.
