We chose here for afternoon tea and wow what a great experience. Walking in we were warmly greeted and our coats taken. The decor and ambience were perfect with leather sofas, vintage books and assortments lining the walls. Once settled the server described what was to come. In the meantime, she handled a wooden box explaining we also had access to unlimited tea and coffee during the experience. The box held small pots of tea so you have a whiff before choosing your beverage. To start we had the floral tea in blueberry, then the tray was delivered including tuna wrap, tomato bread with cheese, pastrami, coco bread with coronation egg, chicken sandwich, lavender and lemon cake, chocolate, carrot cake, macaroon, and a scone with clotted cream and jam. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted fabulous. My feedback was my scone was quite dry, crumbly and flat. I also asked for a flat white coffee and strawberry mango tea this was delicious and well made. Overall the service was impeccable, really attentive and the 2 hours was a perfect amount as didn't feel rushed in the slightest. The ambience was perfect too would definitely return .

Myself and my partner have just returned from a 2 night stay here for a surprise birthday getaway. The location of the hotel itself was great, easily accessible to the centre of Manchester and a short walk from the train-station The hotel was fab, nicely decorated and comfortable. The only downfall would be that the heating in the room didn’t work leaving it a little chilly and the infinity pool a little small meaning only a certain amount of people in at a time. My partner had paid for a few added extras, balloons and rose petals which was a great touch. Our biggest complaint of our stay would have to be the staff and handling of our booking. We had continuous issues of payment and rectifying issues that the hotel staff had caused themself. Most staff working reception, the bar and restaurant (excluding one receptionist) were rude and unfriendly causing a little stress on what should have been a relaxed break away. Although in the end all was resolved, it did ruin an element of our trip away. The only food we had at the hotel was complimentary breakfast which was okay, nothing amazing and the minibar offered a good selection however we were shocked that even still water came at a cost. Overall a good stay however slightly ruined by the lack of customer service, unfriendly staff and unnecessary issues caused by the hotel.

We booked a room for one night, but we would have loved to be able to stay more. The room was impeccable, so nice, cosy and comfortable. The tone was the room and design was really nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We really liked the design in the bathroom, the only issue was that the overhead shower was dripping cold water 🥶. The minibar was full and had a good variety, but to be charged even for water…that was a first. Staff was nice and friendly enough. Parking is a bit of an issue, but I guess like everywhere in M’cr you will struggle and for a lot of money. We had a table booked at the restaurant, where again the atmosphere was really. I’ve and relaxing, food good but a bit pricey if you ask me. The pool and sauna ofer great view, but I honestly was surprised when I saw how small the pool was. Anyway, overall the stay was one of the best we had in M’cr. we’ll definitely stay there again if we have the chance to.

We arrived 30m later for our dinner reservation- my fault for thinking the reservation was at 19:30 and not 19:00. Felt awful as soon as it was pointed Felt even worse when the supervisor or hostess couldn’t bite her tongue about it making an extra comment so it made us feel slight uncomfortable from that point on. (Before we were even seated) Service was slow, we heard an apology to another table and that they were going to check on their food. It didn’t seem too busy from our point of view but when the food arrived it was really nice no complaints there. My main issue was the lack of attention we felt to receive, my husband thought it was down to the fact that our bill was “already paid” it was clear they couldn’t give two shxts, ages to ask our drinks order, just as long for them to arrive and so fourth. Even to clear the table after Snacks, what a drag. Overall the feeling was as if we weren’t welcomed or no one wanted to serve us which was really awful. The score is only based on the food. A “I see your celebrating your anniversary” would be a nice touch at any point - the details are everywhere including in the gift voucher you wish to see Tbh I’m glad we had a voucher. Just a shame about the experience of which we are sharing with our loved ones about the restaurant. Actually never actually got a receipt ? No clue what it all amounted to was told by the same person who sat us “that’s all (smile) you’re free to go” my husband said “nothing left to pay?” to what we were told ‘no no it’s fine” Did I do you a favour or did you ? Enjoy the tip ;)

We recently stayed at the King Street Townhouse, and overall, it was a great experience, but a few small tweaks could have made it perfect. To start, the welcome at reception wasn’t the warmest. The staff seemed a bit moody, which wasn’t the ideal first impression, but we didn’t let it ruin our stay. On the positive side, the cleanliness was absolutely top-notch—easily a 10/10. The rooms were stunning, with a luxurious bath and incredibly comfy beds. My only gripe was being charged £2.50 for water in the minibar. Most hotels offer water for free, so it felt a bit off, especially since wine or snacks being charged is more understandable. The infinity pool and spa were definite highlights. However, it was disappointing to see that the private time slots they previously had are no longer in place. It was so busy that it took away from the relaxing and exclusive vibe the spa is known for. A bit of a shame, as it’s such a beautiful space. The downstairs bar was excellent, but we were unlucky that the terrace bar was closed during our stay—it’s usually the better spot to unwind. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay, and the hotel has so much going for it. With just a few small adjustments, it could easily be a 5-star experience. Would definitely recommend it for a visit, especially for the spa and the beautiful rooms!

The hotel itself is nice, a little rough around the edges but nice nonetheless, the staff were great. Main issue is the size of the infinity pool, we went up on three separate occasions and couldn’t get in as it was too busy and this was midweek in January so can only imagine at peak times! Considering that’s the main draw to this hotel it’s disappointing as there are many much nicer hotels in the area for a cheaper price point. Nice hotel but without the pool access is not worth the price

This is undoubtedly one of the finest boutique hotels I have had the pleasure of staying at. Every aspect of the property is immaculate, from the cleanliness of the hotel, rooms, and restaurant to the pool area. The staff are exceptional—polite, attentive, and genuinely warm, creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast is outstanding, complemented by a delightful ambiance that enhances the overall experience. While the pricing may seem on the higher side initially, the quality of the facilities and service makes it worth every penny. Truly excellent value for money.

We were there for afternoon tea. What my wife and I experienced there is “unique”. The sweets, sandwiches and scones were extremely good. Aaaaabut then this happened: I asked if there was also espresso. Apparently yes! And then came half a cup of the thinnest coffee water. It had as much to do with espresso as a fillet steak had to do with Jell-O. In the interests of my daughter, who had booked, I decided not to complain. There were six of us and my daughter later paid over £300. I didn't ask how much the lukewarm porridge, which was served in a teacup (!), cost. Dear hotel operator, what you are doing here is taking people for a fool! My wife and I have been living in a motorhome for five years and regularly go out in many countries in Europe. But this is our number 1 favorite restaurant experience (and we've experienced a lot).

My husband and I chose King Street Townhouse for our wedding at the end of December. Abigail was our wedding coordinator leading up to the day and she was absolutely fabulous! In touch frequently and managed all of my worries perfectly. We hired the cinema room the night before the wedding, which was a nice touch and great value. Food and drinks were really nice. The actual day of the wedding itself I couldn't have been happier with. The team (big shout to Luis & Tom!) made everything run perfectly. I couldn't have asked for more. If you are considering King Street Townhouse for your wedding, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The team are generous with drinks - free soft drinks for the children all night which was unexpected and appreciated. So many guests commented on how lovely and intimate the venue was and it was the best wedding they'd been to. Breakfast in our own room with the wedding party the next morning was lovely too. We'll be back for an anniversary visit!

I booked this hotel as a special treat for my wife’s birthday because I’d always wanted to stay here, largely because of its rooftop infinity pool. Unfortunately, the reality was very underwhelming and far from what is shown online. The hotel feels extremely outdated, with mismatched, upcycled furniture, stained carpets peeling away at the edges, and an overall sense that it hasn’t been refurbished in years. The bathrobes provided were thin, frayed, and full of holes, well past their best and in desperate need of replacing. The rooftop infinity pool, the highlight of the promotional photos online, was very disappointing. It’s far smaller than it appears online, more like the size of a large hot tub than a proper pool. Additionally, there were safety concerns, such as exposed electrical wiring near the glass door to the pool area. Considering the price of this hotel, which is marketed as 4-star luxury, the facilities and condition were well below expectations. It felt more like a dated 2-star property that desperately needs a full renovation. Another frustration was being charged for tea and coffee in the room, which is usually complimentary in most hotels. The cost wasn’t listed on the minibar price menu, so this felt unclear. At checkout, when I questioned this, the receptionist said they would “check the minibar” to confirm what I had used and release the remainder of my £100 deposit. This was unnecessary and left me feeling slightly insulted. I’m still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. The one thing they did get right was a small plate with “Happy Birthday” written on it for my wife when we arrived, which was a thoughtful touch. However, this alone couldn’t make up for the rest of the experience. To add to the list of disappointments, there were no facilities to dry swimwear at the pool, a small but noticeable oversight. Overall, the stay fell far below expectations. While the location and idea of the hotel might have potential, the outdated decor, safety concerns, and lack of attention to detail made it a disappointing experience. I would not recommend staying here until it undergoes significant refurbishment.

What a lovely Boutique Hotel in a great location. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the Train Station, we were greeted to a lovely warm welcome and our bags stored as we were an early arrival. When we came back, the room was ready on the first floor, I was expecting it to be noisy in the location it was, it was right next to the staircase and lift but was pleasantly surprised. The room was like a Tardis! You entered the room into a hall way, where there was a wardrobe and coat rack. You then went through another door into the bathroom which had a large walk in shower, a bath and a separate toilet. There was then a sliding door that went into the bedroom. Lovely large comfy bed, great pillows! It also had a seating area and a desk. Complimentary coffee machine and kettle, however the bottled water is not complimentary which I would expect from a 4 star Hotel. We were left a lovely birthday plate for my husband's birthday with a piece of brownie on. We headed up to the Rooftop pool which was a very nice additional touch for a City Centre Hotel, you can even get drinks brought up from the bar. There was also a Sauna but it was cold so couldn't use that. There was a relaxing area with loungers and fresh water but no cups to put the water in. There were also changing facilities and showers. Overall a great facility for the Hotel. We didn't opt for breakfast with us being in such a central location so can't comment on that. The location is perfect for shops, bars, restaurants and the Christmas Market. Everywhere is just within a short walk. We did have a quick drink in the bar after check out which was a lovely chilled environment. All in all a wonderful Boutique Hotel that I would highly recommend.

Beautiful, if compact spa. I booked a relaxation package, with 2 course lunch, 2 hours spa time and a massage treatment. The light lunch was delicious and there was a menu to choose from. It's all beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. Lockers were free to use and I really loved that the lockers had charging points inside. My only slight grumble is that the "no phone in the spa" rule was not enforced so others were in the relaxation room on their phones which is a bit distracting. The spa area had a relaxation room with heated beds, experience showers and a salt room, there is also a sauna and steam room. My massage treatment was amazing 10/10! I felt so relaxed and refreshed after my visit.

This is a review of the afternoon tea at the townhouse: Staff/Service was 5 out of 5, couldn’t fault it. Very attentive. Drinks were lovely, good champagne and plenty of hot drinks. But the food was the real let down, not all of it - the sandwiches were lovely, but some lacked taste and the scone was perfect (although on the small side). Visited for my Wife's birthday after a fantastic previous visit. They say you can't re-create an experience and it rings true. Attentive service but found it too over familiar ('lovey' this, 'lovey' that). In a previous visit we were looked after by Gentleman in a bow tie who was 100% professional and had it just right. We had both high tea and traditional tea and found it somewhat lacking with some rather odd choices (chocolate bread being used for sandwiches?!) and the Hummus sandwich was a cop-out. Cakes we're similarly OK. Definitely not in line with the cost, however. Despite booking and paying online in advance, I was surprised to see a bank notification to say that an amount had been taken after our visit, which was somewhat higher than expected - as well as an additional service charge. It took 3 emails and 2 x phone calls to resolve this. I'm also not sure how it's an optional service charge when they simply take it from your card when you've been and gone - a big no no for me and needs to stop. Please be aware that upgrading and paying extra for sparkling wine means you get 1 x glass. Additional glasses of Prosecco are £9.20 each, I think. They should be clear on this when they ask you if you "want a top-up?". Again, a bit extreme. We've stayed at the hotel several times and will do so again, but despite a beautiful and relaxing environment in the restaurant, probably won't be back for afternoon tea.

The restaurant looked good from a decor viewpoint, but was as good as empty. We were told our choice of wine was not available, so chose another - no great issue. The main disappointment was the main course - duck served with a side order of carrots. The dish was served lukewarm on stone cold plates, the duck was as tough as old boots, and the carrot side order comprised more onions than carrots. Not worth what was charged - by a long way.
