O' Shea's Irish Bar in Manchester

Would shag that their pint of Guinness absolute cracking pint. Mulligans has nothing in it, will be returning on our next trip to old trafford

I ate here with a friend pre Zakk Wylde concert at the o2. First time back in Manchester since graduating the uni in 1998. I chose the Dirty Old Town burger. Food delivered quickly. The chips were good. The 'burger' should really have an asterisk next to it. Definitely the worst burger I have tasted in the UK. I think if the chef can't make burgers, they would do better going to Tescos and buying cheap supermarket own brand ones. The most accurate description I can think of is they bought too many burgers from Iceland in 1993. They were left out in the Mancunian sunshine for a few months where they slowly fossilised, before being found last year in a locked cupboard. They would be better off donating them to the uni for further analysis. Staff not as friendly as one would expect in an Irish bar, not much craic to be seen. Verdict avoid.

Got recommended this pub by a nice lady and as it’s my first time in Manchester it couldn’t have been more ideal. Lovely and cozy, nice music and phenomenal food. Couldn’t have been better, recommend to anyone 👍

Went to O'Sheas on Saturday with my sister celebrating my 50th, just before i got to the pub i slipped on the road and smacked my face on the floor, splitting my lip open, the bouncer took me into the staff quaters, where he and the rest of the staff helped clean me up, they couldn't do enough for me. You have a amazing team, from the bouncers at the door, the staff in the back, the staff on the bar and the manager, thank you so much, special thanks to Tony on the door, your help was appreciated.

Don't drink the pornstar martini from the tap - didn't drink much (17/01/2025) but oh my god iv never been as sick I honestly think it was from them - clean it out guys, I ate pizza before coming to O'Sheas, but this was shared with my husband, went to O'Sheas he had beer & I had 2 (2 for 10 pounds) of the pornstar Martinis on tap - I was violently ill after. Other than that, nice spot, easy to get a sit and a good bit of craic.

So first thing the pints were great. Guinness and Guinness zero on draught. The bar looks tired on a quite night and there is no way to escape the TV screens. Good to get a passing scoop. Probably good for the youngsters when it's rammed

Great bar .staff service is amazing. atmosphere great. Everyone was having fun and was expecting irish music, but it wasn't the case, and some of the musicians that did try to sing irish songs killed the songs 😉 maybe it's just an irish thing 🤔 but overall good nyt .

Gran pinta , bonita decoración con potencial pero muy grosero barman , se fue después de una copa . Me sentí incómodo subiendo al bar por otra ronda de bebidas. Después de haber viajado por todo el mundo y siempre ir a bares irlandeses, experimenté esto por primera vez. Decepcionado.

Parada aquí en el camino a nuestro hotel, pero han estado aquí antes. Siempre tiene un buen ambiente, especialmente cuando hay una banda en vivo y el personal siempre es acogedor. Nunca había comido aquí antes, pero honestamente puedo decir que la comida era excelente, y como las bebidas, a un precio muy razonable. A la esposa le encantó ya que era su primera visita y siempre estará en la lista cuando visite Manchester.

I cant really comment on the atmosphere as only 2 people in, including ourselves but seems really nice and the breakfast was absolutely lovely and would recommend.

We went here after walking around with 7 tired and hungry children (there was 2 families) I don't know if they usual have many kids there but the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the food was great and very reasonable priced. Lovely place.

A great pub. A good selection of beers and spirits, only eaten here a few times but everything I've had has been gorgeous. I will Definitely visit again

We had the All day Irish fry up( £9.50). Best I've had! Everything was cooked perfectly. It was all hot and the flavours were delicious. Definitely recommend to my family and friends .

Popped in for a pre-gig beer and a bite to eat. Would definitely pop in again if I'm in the area for a gig. Good location, good beer and food. Live sports on tv too, can't fault the place!

Classic irish pub with great Guinness. Often have live music on and there's lots of room in there. Plenty of tables and booths.

El personal era excelente. La cerveza estaba buena y fría. La comida, especialmente el Fish and Chips eran muy caros y demasiado cocinados. Pescadito y mucha masa cocida.

Great atmosphere and cocktails. The staff were very polite, especially Will who took his time to understand my preferences in drinks, then made me a signature cocktail which tasted great.

Great pub in a good location, food arrived quickly, and as a solo traveller, I didn't feel out of place. Literally, most beers are on tap as a bonus!!

Spent all day in here with my wife to watch Hurling semi final and then England euros game. Cracking atmosphere. Rammed. But service, guiness and food were cracking. Defo go back!

Stopped for a pint stayed for food. The service was excellent as was the food. Great setting music and football. The Nachos were amazing and the burgers were fabulous!

Popped here for couple late drinks and seemed to be a popular and friendly pub.

Was in Manchester for long weekend, O'shea's: Friday, excellent fish, chip, mushy peas and tarter sauce (and slice bread and butter) Saturday: big breakfast, 2 each of sausages, bacon, eggs, black and white pudding +mushroom, tomato, beans and soda bread. Sunday: lovely roast dinner, succulent beef .. all v decent price.

Came in here for a irish breakfast and it was lovely . One of the best breakfast I've had . The food stayed piping hot throughout and the guiness was good too.

First visit here. Good friendly pub and quick service.

Propper Irish Pub Had the Rugby and GAA on despite it being the opening weekend of the Euros, unlike some other 'Irish' pubs Decent reasonably priced food too

Really nice bar with a nice atmosphere and absolutely brilliant burgers. I need to return when they have a band on stage.

We spent a great Saturday night here. Good music, atmosphere, and service.

Food was actually really good! Thoroughly enjoyed it and very very reasonable. The pub wasn't that full and limited soft furnishings made it feel uninviting the live football commentary and music just clashed.

Watched the Champions League final here! Very nice location!

We went here whilst on a walk about of Manchester. Really nice pub near the canals. Nice staff and reasonable prices. We didn’t eat but the food did look very nice on other tables. Prices are very reasonable and would come back again.

Fun bar, good beer, lively and noisy so not the place if you want a quiet chat, but loads of fun and a great atmosphere.

Dipped in here initially just to get a quick bite to eat. Food was really nice. Ended up staying until closing time as the live band was really entertaining. Great service at the bar even when busy. Note to anyone planning on going around 5/6 on a Friday. Expect to wait for a free table. Constantly busy through the day and night which is always a good sign.

Absolutely freezing in there. Mentioned it politely to the young barman.very dismissive reply. Infact quite rude tbh

Great fun Irish bar, if you want good creamy pints of the black slung at you while crowds yell along to cover bands singing Irish classics. If you want a quiet night don't head in. I haven't eaten here but if a liquid dinner is what you're after then it's 5 star Guinness and 5 star craic

Popped in on Sunday for brunch. Bacon bap and small Irish. ( both really tasty; I ❤️d the Black pudding). Not dead busy as was only just 12 o'clock. Footie semi final on, but could still talk. Staff jolly and friendly. Update 22.11.23. Popped in for brekky ( served 10-12). Small Irish, poached eggs on soda bread with hollandaise bacon & pulled pork. 😋 delicious as usual. Was in a few weeks back for dinner- 19th Oct: recommend the steak and guinness pie and the clonakilty sausage, colcannon and onion gravy. Lovely place and lovely staff. 9th March back again for brunch, full irish, small Irish, guinness & coffee. Fab as usual 😁

Bit smelly, but cramped ... Odd crowd... Not sure one shall return but its near home so we shall see.

great place first went in my sister in 1995 been going there ever since . even worked there 98 and 2002 .great people and bar music and food ...

Just a great place where whomever you are you would feel comfortable.

Went out for a xmas do to bouzouki by night..... left as soon as finished eating due to borderline below average Entertainment that everyone seems to be raving about...... Entered O'Sheas..... MY GODNESS WHAT NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. Atmosphere was fantastic with live band people dancing singing having a blast of time! Staff are fantastic including the bouncers (which doesn't happen often in bars around manchester) all friendly talkative treating you like a guest and a mate. Will definitely return!!!!!

Guter zentraler Pub. Schnelles Essen (leider etwas nüchtern) aber grundsätzlich gut. Es lief sport und gute Musik.

Live music but no atmosphere. Had to leave my pint behind, as tasted awful. Won't be rushing back. Shame, as has great potential.

Went in with a friend, another patron started talking to me very aggressively demanding I take my gloves off, before his friend calmed him down and reminded him I was about half his age. Went to the bar and the barman overheard me talking to my friend who scarcely drinks about Beavertown, the brewery. I'd mentioned in a passing comment that it was a London brewery, at that point the barman rudely interrupted and told me it was American. Of course he was wrong but I didn't want to start any further conflict. The food however was nice. So, if you go in, no gloves, and don't reference any of the British beer. Upsets the Paddy's.

What a great pub! Nice food in very good price. We had fish and chips for £9.50 and O'Shea's platter (chicken wings, chicken goujons, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fries and 3 dips) for £13.50. If I want to be a bit peaky, I will say that fish and chips needs a bit more chips. But in general we were very happy. Nice and friendly service with kind staff.
