The best restaurants serving British food in England

We were so looking forward to our visit after having two lovely fish and chip meals there the year before, however, after being served on cold plates the chips were very very dark brown skin on fries, and luke warm, the peas came in a jar and were luke warm, although the fish was nice and hot, when I advised the waiter the chips had been cold as I hadn't eaten mine, I was told that he couldn't see how🥴 .At least I have got the fish and chips out of my system as I had been looking forward to visiting Seabirds so much since our last visits to Filey when the fish and chips were delicious both times 😂 the saving grace was the other lovely staff member who was great with my dog 😍

Excellent food and great service in a lovely country location. A good selection of choices on the menu, with blackboard specials too. The Sunday roast menu is exceptional value for money. Will definitely visit again.

Un sábado soleado por la tarde reunirse con amigos. Nos sentamos afuera y disfrutamos compartiendo una botella de efluvio antes de comer. La zona exterior es un entorno precioso con un montón de grandes paraguas. Todos disfrutamos de la comida, pero encontramos el tamaño de las porciones un poco pequeño. Por ejemplo, teníamos el Camembert horneado que era pequeño para un plato compartido como se anuncia. Afortunadamente también habíamos pedido los calamares, que era uno de los mejores que habíamos probado! Un poco de pan extra y algunas aceitunas y estaba bien. Todos disfrutamos de nuestras opciones de platos principales y tuvimos espacio para el pudín, que era una ventaja. Deliciosa fondant de chocolate y mis amigos les encantó su crema brûlée. Muy buen vino de rosa también. En general, una tarde muy agradable / tarde temprano. El servicio fue amable y atento sin ser intrusivo. Me gustaría comer aquí de nuevo.

Really lovely hotel, in a super gorgeous setting. For it to really live up to the price point, I would expect the ‘little things’ to be covered i.e., better stocked amenities in the bathroom and more water in the rooms. Everyone working at the hotel were super sweet and friendly, but you could, at times, tell that this is a newly opened hotel still finding its feet.

I would not recommend this place, and it has nothing to do with the food. The pricing was reasonable, and the food was excellent, but the staff stood by as I was harassed by what seemed to be a regular for nearly 30 minutes. I arrived early and was waiting for a friend when a visibly drunk man entered and sat directly next to me, effectively trapping me in my booth. He slammed his hand on my table to get my attention, immediately making me uncomfortable. He then proceeded to harass me for 10 minutes until my friend arrived. For a brief moment, he stopped, only to resume his behavior minutes later, ignoring my friend’s attempts to intervene. This is a small restaurant, and I was visibly uncomfortable the entire time. The staff had full view of what was happening but made no attempt to step in or assist me. When I finally saw an opportunity to leave, I tried to get up, only for the man to block my path again. He eventually left, and only then did the waiter come over to take my order. To be clear, this is a small space with only a few tables on the first floor—there was no way for the staff to have missed what was happening. I am exceptionally disappointed that none of them thought it was worth intervening. The drunk man also hugged the staff while leaving, so clearly he is somewhat familiar with them. If you are a women alone, I would not recommend coming here. Maybe this was a one off, but to allow that to happen is pretty disappointing.

Tha food was amazing the fried cooked the food to perfection the waitresses looked after us so well Nicola Vila and Sarah was amazing just to say we will be coming back and thanks

After a walk around Brimham Rocks with our French visitors we were seeking a traditional pub for lunch. This lovely pub was a great discovery, welcoming staff, nice beer and tasty generous sandwiches.

Great breakfast, with a good selection. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beth was excellent. Was able to get decaf tea as I require.

We had a lovely dinner here last night - the food was of a very high quality as was the wonderful service we received from Faye, Jo and Jasmine - we would highly recommend the Flint House

Pizzas are 5 star, but other food is expensive and ok. I think the service is usually better, we suffered as the last table booked for the night

The vibe of here is so good 😍 They have 2 sitting area on upstairs one downstairs. They have tasty sandwiches. 🥪 I cane here 2 times. Once we ordered chips as a side.it was not good at all. do not order chips but definitely go for sandwiches 😋 The price is reasonable too. Every meal is almost £10

Stopped off for some dinner at the Standard greeted by the barman cooper what a great up beat gentleman super helpful our meal was absolutely Devine what a lovely evening 5 stars from us…

I stayed at the Premier Inn next door & ate breakfast & dinner as part of my stay. Good portions, hot well presented food & very attentive service. Thank you to all for such excellent customer service.

Lovely light lunch and friendly service. Located in the heart of the village. Found parking on the high street easy. Nice feel to the bar area and friendly and helpful service.
