Fondo Lounge in Mendip

Would not recommended came in today with two children. I had a baby with me and an under 5. I sat down tried to order food on the app. Asked the lady if the app was down she just replied with internet is slow and order at bar. I was stood at the bar, With X2 staff walking past me waiting to order whist holding a baby. Non of the staff read the room as I was trying to watch my eldest daughter sat on her own and was worried about her. Absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend due to the rudeness of staff. I came a few weeks ago and had a lovely meal and experience hence why I came back today. I just walked out today what a joke! WILL NOT BE RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING. Look after Mother’s on their own or don’t state your family friendly!

We have found Fondo Lounge online searching for a nice place to eat around Glastonbury. We called to asked if they have tables available and went for dinner last night and for breakfast this morning. From the call, to the goodbye at the restaurant, the service was exceptional. All the staff seem so happy and relaxed, very helpful and attentive. I think it is the best atmosphere I have ever experienced eating out. They have a great vegan menu and the food is amazing. Good portion sizes, we left totally satisfied. Would be great to have fresh juices on the menu, but that doesn’t make it any less of an amazing restaurant. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you.

Nice place for a drink with friends

We visited here today with our 2 dogs 3-4pm. We received a friendly welcome, all the staff were lovely and very attentive, great service. I had a red bush tea, and hubby had americano coffee (he said it was really nice coffee). There was a lovely atmosphere, with background music that didn't make it difficult to eat with it playing. The food didn't take long to arrive, it was well presented, they used fresh salad ingredients, and cooked the food perfectly. I'm both gluten and milk intolerant, I chose a beyond meat burger. It was very tasty. Hubby chose the steak, and he said he enjoyed his meal. So, we stayed for dessert. Hubby enjoyed sticky toffee pudding, and I had GF VG passion fruit Semifreddo, omg it was really lovely, I highly recommend it. It is very rare to find a dessert for me when we eat out. We took home a chocolate & raspberry torte, it tasted rich and delicious. A big thank you to the team at Fondo Lounge. You delivered an enjoyable customer service experience today. I will add a photo of my dessert, I should have taken it before I cut it with my spoon, but you'll get the idea

Only visited for drinks, but a great place one a cool building, staff very friendly and helpful. A relaxing place for a beer or 3.

Me and my girlfriend went here for our date night and it was the perfect atmosphere for it! The service was good and so was the food! We took advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktail deal which is daily from 5pm onwards! Definitely an idea for a cosy date night! Plenty of food options too!

A restaurant worth visiting! The menu offered a fantastic selection, the food was mouthwatering, and the service was professional and kind.

Rang to reserve a table for valentines eve. Was told they were fully booked so we had to arrive at 5:30 to get a table. We did so. After arriving at 5:30 we were very aware that many tables had 'reserved' on them and many tables were nor reserved for the 2 hour duration we were there. My daughter rang to reserve a table today and was told it was fully booked at all times, despite this she walked in at 6:30 and was offered a table. What is going on with this??

If your visiting Street / Clarks village look up this place on the High Street its a real nice place to sit relax and eat good food, the Fondo Lounge which is part of a chain serves a variety of foods from Burgers to Chilli beef and a Full English all cooked to perfection. They have a full Gluten Free Menu available, my wife is coeliac so no Gluten Thank you, reassuringly when serving your food the gluten free meal will have a Stick with a little flag on top to identify it has Gluten free and avoid any mistakes, Top marks to Fondo Lounge for this. The staff are all very helpful and pleasant its a real nice eating experience which I highly recommend to all.

The best lunch out in a long time. Great care taken over a specific allergy (kiwi). Great care taken over an intense dislike (coriander). So glad that everywhere in Clarks Village was full; this will be our first choice when we visit again!

Food was excellent and customer service even better I didn’t like the sauce that was on my salad so they replaced my meal without any hesitation and gave us two free drinks too. You just don’t get this sort of service these days. Will definitely be returning to sample the rest of the menu. There is so much choice and it all looked amazing.

Food was okay. The tables are always dirty and staff are slow to clear up. That being said it’s a quick turnover and quick food service so I can’t complain too much. Food was standard but alot of the drinks lack flavour

Popped in here on the off chance of getting a table while shopping in street. Got a table easily. Excellent selection of different foods. Arrived inside of 15 minutes and it wasn’t quiet! Prices very reasonable. All three of us thought food was outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend to families or couples.

Got to love a Lounge. Varied menu and the staff were fabulous. One of the wife's favourites is the Chicken salad.

Was a great place to discover. They had some amazing vegetarian & vegan options which is highly appreciated as it’s very slim pickings to find a place with decent plant based options in the south west.

Went today with my daughter for lunch. The garlic Parmesan fries had a horrible taste to them. Like lemon?! And the buttermilk chicken was very greasy and hard. We always go to one of the lounge chains when out for lunch.. Staff through were very friendly and the service was fab.

Went latish on a Saturday when it was predominantly drinkers. Service was excellent - friendly and helpful staff. The food was great - plenty of flavour and lots of choice. Only 3 stars as we went late and it was quiet but would happily return.

My daughter booked a table for 5.30pm. Table was laid with a perspex sign with her name on it. We were early, but that wasn't a problem. My daughter is gf, we both had the Nasi Goreng which was delicious. Followed by the gf chocolate brownie. My daughter has tried many gf chocolate brownies. But, this gf chocolate brownie was the best so far. As someone who's worked in the catering and hospitality for 30+ years, I couldn't fault anything. Very friendly, welcoming and clean. We'll definitely be going back again. Keep doing what your doing, as our experience was an excellent one. Sorry too busy enjoying our meal for photos.

Popped in on a whim for a brekkie, service was friendly and efficient, lounge breakfast was tasty as was the poached eggs plus scrambled eggs on toast. Nice friendly atmosphere.

For me Gluten free person is really hard to find place where I can have so many options to eat. fondo lounge has long menu and food is so tasty, got served very quick and people are very professional. Definitely recommend that pace.

Very friendly. Pleasant atmosphere. Clean. A good selection of food and drinks. My trip was specifically for Clarks Village and GBK. However, GBK was closed, so we looked around and found this place. We both had the Lounge burger and a strawberry milkshake. Both were reasonably good, but neither had much flavour. The fries and onion rings were not that hot but cooked well nevertheless. I paid a tad over £38. I would have preferred to pay lass for what I had. A good effort, but this will not be my new haunt. It's not GBK.

A thousand stars for this restaurant! The Food is scrumptious. The ambience is relaxing. But the best quality of this restaurant is the service! Kudos especially to Stuart & the bar tenders for their ultra-positive vibe.

I’ve been here several times with friends and family and atmosphere has always been great. Last time we were here we also had our two small dogs with us. The staff were very helpful offering a water bowl for them and when we asked to order a small simple burger for them they were happy to accommodate and even suggested they could make just the patty We’ll be back again for sure!

Wonderful food and service. Being a bank holiday it was absolutely heaving with all the staff flat out busy. Well done to the kitchen staff for cracking on and the front of house still smiling.

We popped into Fondo Lounge for a late lunch on a Sunday. The place was full but we were able to wait for a table. We were able to sit in a lounge area while we waited for a table for two. In the interim, three people got a table and then a group of four got a table ahead of us even though hey had come in after us. The dangers of just wanting a table for two although I did see three people given a table for six. While we were waiting I saw two tables of two vacate. After a while, I went up to one of them where a waitperson had placed a cleaning cloth. I asked if we could take the table as we had been waiting a long time. She muttered something and then gave a massive eye-roll (not seen by me but by my wife who was nearby). Even when she brought our cutlery, she plopped it on the table without any comment. We noted she failed to smile once during the whole time we were there. She was wearing a t shirt with Montana on it. maybe that's were she wanted to be because it was clear she didn't want to be at work. The rest of the staff were excellent. Smiling, friendly and very helpful. The food itself was very good. We each had burgers with fries and a small side of coleslaw. It's a popular place, I assume, because the food is good, there's a very good choice, it's a bar but you can get a pot of tea, and most of the staff are friendly.

I've visited lots of Lounges around England and this is another great one. Very casual, very laid back, with games to help yourself to, wide range of drinks and food to enjoy, and quirky decor. Lots of fun.

Turned up at just after 9 this morning hoping for a table to celebrate Mother’s Day, as we had been told yesterday that all tables were reserved apart from 2 tables. We were actually given a reserved table that wasn’t needed until 12.45 ( not sure why they were reserved so early for lunch sittings.) The gentleman who seated us was extremely friendly and gave my self and daughter in law a couple of chocolates for Mother’s Day and told us to take a rose before we left. Such a nice touch. Service and food was really good and would definitely use again. Thank you

I brought my friend here last night as a treat for her 60th birthday. She ordered the lamb shawarma, I had buttermilk fried chicken. I've had this dish before in the Fosso Lounge in Barnstaple and the Wells restaurant..it's usually delicious. My friend's meal was cold, she only told me at the end as I was paying and she didn't want to be rude. She didn't eat the flatbread, just picked the topping off. My chicken was very tough indeed and not enjoyable. The house slaw did not taste as home made as usual either. We came here for a celebration treat and is was very disappointing and £40 wasted. We both left hungry and went to wetherspoons next door for pudding! It's a shame as I've always had good meals in this restaurant chain that's why I chose it for a treat. :( The man who served us was very friendly.

Wow what a lovely find. Came to Clark’s village for shopping and thought we would pop into town to find a cafe for lunch. Amazing menus with something literally for everyone. Such high quality ingredients. Highly recommend!

Haven't been let down by 'a lounge yet. We did have to wait as busy but it was prime time around 1:00pm.

So impressed with Fondo Lounge. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially as we had a 10 month old baby with us. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere of the place is very relaxed, warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place if you have small children too, as the children’s menu has good options and the portion sizes are generous. I will definitely be returning!

I can't comment on the food as I only stopped in for a beverage. But it was my first time in here. Staff were pleasant and speedy, place was busy and still clean. Had a very unique and cosy vibe. Would go again.

We had a nice evening out, its was quite in there but it was a Monday, but ultimately a great night as the specials were a free dessert with a main course couldn't complain. Very nice also highly recommended it.

Always enjoy visiting the Fondo Lounge, food is good but the service stands out for a fast moving place. We always seem to get a smile and warm welcome from the staff who for me really make this place what it is. I support and visit with a gentlemen with Autism, we were recently asked if we minded moving from a large table of 8 to a table of 2 to allow a group to be seated. We were happy ro oblige and the kindly given a free drink each, keep up the great work guys.

We stopped for lunch whilst visiting Street and Clarkes Village. The menu was huge and we struggled to decide. The food was served swiftly and was piping hot. Our dog was welcomed and was able to eat a sausage within the restaurant. Highly recommend x

The food was lovely! I had a philly cheese brisket sandwich! Brilliant and fast service! Unfortunately I had an oreo milkshake but it didn't taste like there was a single oreo in it.

Popped in today with my husband, and 2 children. We were passing and thought it looked like a nice spot for a quick bite. We were so so pleasantly surprised. I had tapas and it was gorgeous, my husband had the bacon cheeseburger and he practically licked the plate 😂… and my 2 year old and 8 year old both cleared their plates too! Great portion sizes for little tummies! I don’t think we’ve ever all finished our meals. The staff were really pleasant and friendly, despite it being very busy. My Sauvignon was chilled and DELICIOUS. Top marks for accommodating the children too; plastic colourful cutlery, drawing activities at the table and plastic cups for their drinks. Little added touches that go a really long way. Told my friends about this lovely little spot today and can’t wait to come back. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

My wife and I came here today because the nearby Wetherspoons was full with no empty tables. There was a short queue, but the manager was on the ball and seating customers as soon as suitable tables were available. The menu is very varied. We opted for a fish finger sandwich and a Diet Coke each. Notwithstanding that they were very busy, our sandwiches arrived in good time and they were delicious, with good quality fish fingers and tartare sauce with big capons, served in thickly sliced fresh brown bread

First time and very impressed, we had brisket chilli with spicy rice and buttermilk chicken, both were freshly cooked and really nice, staff were also very attentive and helpful.

We visited this branch of The Lounge on a busy Saturday evening. There was a lovely warm atmosphere inside. The staff were friendly and super helpful. My wife had the Goan Lamb curry which she really enjoyed. I had three of the vegan tapas dishes which were great. A great place to visit after visiting Clark’s Shopping Village.

On arriving we were kept waiting for 10 mins at the door when there were empty tables available. I asked the bar maid (black braided ponytail) if we could get a table and was told very sternly " wait to be seated" Very rude and abrupt!! She needs a lesson in customer service. We eventually were seated and every table had a QR code but no WiFi in the building worked and we were in a cold spot for our own Internet. So why have the cards. We have used Lounges many times and like the fact you can order at the table. The food was very nice except the buttermilk chicken was overcooked, a trait in all the lounges. Usually a great atmosphere

Highly rated for its friendly staff and great food served promptly. I like the fact that it has a kitchen where you can actually see the chefs at work which I think is quite a rarity these days. It doesn't seem to matter how early I arrive for lunch as it's always packed - there doesn't seem to be any way of beating the rush! Good for them, they deserve to be successful.

This is a great place for tasty gluten free options and we’re becoming regulars. We’ve eaten in and ordered a couple of takeaways. We really appreciate the eco friendly packaging and the friendly service here.

good sized coffee, not exceptional taste, but not unpleasant Tea cake was a fair size, a bit cold when it hit to me, due to 2 trips around the place, I'm sure they would have re done it if I requested it, oh & a good sized portion of jam to go with it

This is now the favourite meeting place of residents of Street. There are so many excellent reviews that I hardly need to add another. I will just say that the food is wonderful with a varied menu and the staff are exceptionally polite and helpful. I love going there.
