Mother’s Day treat and what a treat it was . 14of us, 9 adults, lovely warm welcome, excellent food, brilliant service, plenty of choice, definitely recommend, thank you so much
Lugar encantador, comida encantadora. Toda la experiencia se vio empañada por el hecho de que asumieron que daríamos propina, y también asumieron cuánto e incluyeron en la factura. Carecía de clase. Fuimos en agosto de 2023.
As a non vegan my wife and I were simply blown away with how amazing this place is. Went with my daughter and family who are vegan and they were equally impressed.
The warm friendly welcome on a cold Saturday lunchtime made it all the better and it just had such a lovely cool vibe with reggae music in the background.
As for the food it really was faultless…every dish was flavoursome and different and we tried all the small dishes between us and if we had to pick a favourite it would be the polenta chips…OMG, we could have eaten another bowl they really were that good.
The drinks were equally delicious and the vegan eggnog was a revelation. I had 2, it was that good.
If you live within 25 miles of Stroud you should definitely give this place a go, vegan or not. We happen to live in Dorset and are now planning our next visit…it’ll be worth the 2hour journey each way.
We booked the upstairs bar for a private party (at not additional cost).
The decor is lovely it has a really warm and inviting feel.
Mark the owner was super responsive to all my enquiries prior to the event and nothing was too much hassle on the evening.
A great night was had by all the the music was great as well, perfect venue for birthday meals and party's or a hen do. Will definitely return. Thank you Mark and team.

Found this place by chance and were glad we did. It’s a little gem.
We had the cold take out to heat up later as we were staying in our caravan. We only had two main courses, and both were really tasty and full of flavour.
I had ordered the lamb kebabs, but they cook them fresh so decided to not have those this time. I wish we had ordered them cooked anyway, as even having them cold later I’m sure they would have been nice.
Will definitely go again to try out the other choices.
Simply, it was just good food done well.
My sister and I visited Maggie-Jo's for lunch and breakfast on separate days and had a consistently great experience each time. Wonderful customer service from Richard (one of the owners) who made us feel very welcome and attended to. Food was fresh, tasty and in very generous portion sizes. The cafe was clean and well looked after. We would recommend this lovely friendly cafe to anyone visiting Barry. 😁👍
Lovely meal and super value. I had goulash and mash - and it came with fresh vegetables. My wife had scampi - lots of it - with perfect French fries. A nice bottle oh house wine, a red Temprinello. Finished with a homemade cherry crumble and creamy custard. All for £45!
