The best restaurants in Mendip South West

One of the best Turkish restaurants we’ve been to and we love Turkish food! First of all the aesthetics of the restaurant is really beautiful, it’s stunning, the staff were very friendly, chatty and provided really quick service. The food was delicious and big portions. I’m vegetarian so there was plenty of choices, the mussaka was super tasty. Would highly recommend coming here and please pre book as it really busy in there and we went on a random Thursday evening, just goes to show how popular it is. Really loved it, will come back again.

First time we have been to this Indian restaurant and we were delighted. The food was excellent and I would say best in the area in our experience. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and we will make this a regular place to visit. Highly recommend it

Friendly service. Nice window seats for watching the world go by. Great coffee but the highlight is home made cakes. Even the pastries. So rare!

Simply fab coffee, beautifully made and the best banana loaf known to mankind. Tucked away, it’s a lovely little place well worth seeking out.

The food is absolutely delicious here and Elsworth Kitchen has now become a regular place I visit when taking my father out for afternoon lunch. The service and atmosphere is excellent and the young waitress who has serviced us the last few times including today 12th of Aug needs recognising (didn’t catch her name sadly). She is attentive, professional and always a pleasure to have a conversation with. Just a shame you don’t open Sunday too!

Tucked away in the lovely village of Beckington, Mes Amis looks appealing and welcoming, and this continues inside. The walls are lined with wine and products perfect to accompany the deli offering. We were welcomed with a warm friendly smile and an offer to explain the cakes and food available. Everything looked and sounded so tempting and delicious. A couple of sweet treats were ordered with two coffees (“nice strong black americano for me, please”). Being busy, our order arrived in good time considering Mes Amis was busy. The food was presented beautifully and was appealing, but my coffee was a pale brown in colour. The cinnamon bun did not taste fresh and we would have been surprised if it was baked that day, and my coffee was weak and lacked flavour or aroma. The staff were lovely, but there was no service check to bring any of this to their attention. The food looks amazing. The deli and cafe are beautiful too, but we were just left disappointed.

Great service provider and amazing food. Great Asian Fusion you might have never tried in your life. I'll be a patron forever !!

This is my second time at Karibu. I do not usually opt for a vegan menu but having ordered from there earlier in the year and had a fantastic meal we had to come back for more. My particular favourite is the polenta chips! I look forward to our next meal from Karibu!

Had to wait 35 minutes for a small not to good breakfast was very greasy toast was hard and hard to eat and to top that £35 for two : (

Beautiful little restaurant, delicious food, great atmosphere, kind staff

Walked past this place and decided to give it a go. What a little gem! Food cooked to perfection. Friendly efficient staff. Will definitely return!
