This is one of the finest hidden gems Somerset has to offer! Nestled in the gorgeous village of Wookey, the Wookey Hub clearly prides itself on serving the community, and doing it fairly. My partner and I spent well over an hour browsing some excellent local produce in the shop, followed by one of the finest full English breakfasts I've ever had. The shocker was that NOTHING was overpriced, and we came away with a bag full of stuff, including a fabulous Christmas wreath, made by a very talented person in the village. They do home deliveries too and, as we're fairly local (Wells), we'll be giving that a go. They also do packageless sales of things like pasta, washing up liquid, milk etc. Oh, and if you like mustard, they sell a wholegrain one made with cider in Wedmore (a few miles away) - it's glorious!

What a gem of a cafe. I always love cycling here. I was however probably overcharged yesterday. I had 2 slices of toast with butter and Marmalade with a regular Americano with hot milk and was charged £8.85. It seemed a bit steep. The lady serving me said that I was not overcharged.

Lovely buzzy cafe in a great spot. Really friendly staff and good service. Absolutely delish bacon sandwiches - even my partners gluten free option which is a real testament to how lovely they are as that is tough to do! Dog friendly and cakes looked yummy too. Wish there was something they could do about the wasps as all the outside tables were swarmed and it did make it difficult to enjoy breakfast as we were having to swot them off the food and out of drinks all the time.

Ordered cooked breakfast toast came no cutlery waited then cooked breakfast came on cold plates bacon half cooked egg was congealed by this time so yolk was non existent. The ingredients were good quality it was the rest that let it down. My husband never complained and paid in full. Had I been paying they would have had the lot back . This could easily be avoided . Also the place was empty so it wasn't as if it was really busy far from it.

I had a very tasty - and filling - cheese and onion marmalade sandwich while my 7 year old had a child's ham and cheese sandwich with a baby hot chocolate which he said tasted amazing. A few years ago Wookey went on a downward spiral. The post office closed and so did the shop and then the pub. And then came Andy and opened the Wookey Hub, to start with with coffee, cakes and sandwiches. Then came the stitching group, the bereavement meeting, the scrabble morning, etc etc etc....then he opened the side room as a little shop. At Christmas you could buy your Christmas trees there! And it goes on and on. It’s fabulous to see such a nice young chap to bring so much life to a little village. Nothing grand but with a lot of heart. The best thing that has happened not only to Wookey but also the villages around it. Keep it up Andy.
