First time visiting here and wow , I have to say best breakfast I have had in a long time. I had the medium breakfast and it was huge, I couldn't finish it, the large is definitely one for a challenge. I wish I took a picture now. Lovely and clean inside and all the ladies was busy with jobs and always on the go. Lovely ladies happy and chatty. Can't wait to come back and have their jacket potatoe and salad bar next time. The cakes also look delicious. Absolutely 5*

Beautiful food, clean, accommodating and friendly. Lush place to go for lunch and they offer a phone up service which suits us perfect as grabbing in our lunch break!!!

I was served by a female who was working her first day I believe. She was professional, friendly and polite. From memory I think she introduced herself as Laura. Great service and the quality of the cakes that I purchased for myself and my wife were incredible! Definitely return! A hidden gem.

I ordered a sandwich platter on Wednesday, as I was visiting my very sick Brother. The sandwiches were perfect. So tasty, well presented and the scones were delicious. Thank you so much.

Visited today with my 16 year old autistic son who doesn’t normally like eating in places unknown to him but was pleasantly surprised how well it went. For the first time ever he ate a whole sandwich and drank his drink, he then asked to come again. The staff were amazing, very welcoming and friendly, the food was also amazing. We will definitely be returning very soon.

A great cafe run by a fantastic mum and daughter and other really kind staff! A warm welcome, table service and delicious cake and tea. I wish I had time to return as it was just such a nice relaxing experience and hygiene standards which is something I’m obsessed about were really high! Thank you so much ladies for your kindness ❤️

I would recommend this sandwich bar, good quality sandwiches, you choose fillings, they quickly make. Better than the ‘run of the mill’ food chains.

Daniels supplied the most wonderful selection of sandwiches for a very dear 89 years old birthday tea. I was delighted with the variety,freshness and quantity. They were delivered on time and in perfect condition.

We ordered sandwiches to takeaway and some homemade fudge. The service was fab with very friendly, chatty staff. The choice was fantastic and they catered for vegan and allergies really well. Super shop.

I can not thank Georgie and her team at Daniels enough. They supplied a buffet for 60 people for my girls Christenings yesterday. They were on time, amazing price, easy to communicate with and very friendly. Most of all the food was delicious and we have loads left over!!! We will 100% be using them again and suggest everyone does too 😊

We visited Wells (family of 5) on a super-warm day and traipsed about looking for somewhere to have a light lunch. There are lots of lovely cafes and restaurants but we all just fancied 'a nice sandwich' and this gem of a cafe suited us perfectly! Our sandwiches, all freshly made to order and with all of us choosing different fillings from the huge election of offer, were really delicious and superb value for money. The customer service could not have been better too - thank you!

We discovered this gem of a takeaway by accident on our first visit to Wells. Amazing coronation chicken sandwich made to order packed with fresh salad on a choice of bread. Amazing value at £3.50 and this included choice of drink and snack. We enjoyed our lunch sat on the grass in the sunshine admiring the cathedral ( which is definitely worth a visit). The service was friendly and we will definitely be back very soon.

We are visiting the area for a short break and we’re drawn to Daniel’s sandwich bar as we made our way to the cathedral. The welcome was genuine and the assistants were most helpful. The variety of sandwich fillings was amazing and the staff explained the meal deal in detail. We were impressed with the service we received and noted the cleanliness of the establishment. Highly recommended product and Daniels was good value for money. You deserve to do well as there is so much competition in the city.

Bought a lunch time meal deal from here today. Two sandwiches, two drinks and two snacks for the amazing price of £7. The sandwiches were made with care and were absolutely first class. Highly recommend if you want a delicious lunch and a seat over looking the extremely impressive Wells Cathedral.

I picked up a ‘Breakfast’ in a pizza box. The service was excellent. It was a special treat for Valentine’s Day and I had taken some annual leave from work to spend with my wife and what a perfect start to the day. The food was hot, tasty and great quality. My wife and I couldn’t finish everything as there was so much. 4 x Bacon 4 xSausage 4 x Eggs 4 xHash browns 4 x Black pudding 4 x Tomatoes Mushrooms Fried bread Toast Baked beans We would not hesitate to recommend Daniel’s Cafe to anyone. We look forward to ordering from there again.

the staff are very friendly and helpful they do a sausage or bacon bap and coffee or tea for £2.50 with butter and sauce it was very good value for money.

We had cooked breakfasts delivered for Fathers Day and they were delicious! Really good value for money and love that they deliver. Will definitely be back!

Daniel’s serves coffee, drinks, cakes, hot meals, and sandwiches, and thanks to the GLOBAL PANDEMIC they have adapted to be a very successful take away cafe. Some people think that if you’re a cafe you should have seating, but I think that if you’re a reviewer you should post a review and not a petty troll post just because you’re upset that the world has changed around you. Georgie and Kate are fast becoming pillars of our community and their CAFE is friendly, tasty, accommodating, supportive, charitable, and all around awesome! (even if you can’t sit down) But if you absolutely have to sit down, then they can even deliver! So, you can stay home and pretend your living room is a restaurant. Win win for everyone.

We arrived a little late, as they were closing, but it didn't matter, they were more than happy to serve us and fire up the kitchen again. Most places are more than happy to turn you away at any chance, but we couldn't feel more welcome. The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly, again something you don't find often. Excellent all round!

First time at this wonderful place in Wells Somerset. Service was outstanding, price was fabulous and the food was beyond awesome. If you do go to Wells, you’d be a fool to miss this fabulous cafe. Social distancing and cleanliness was spot on.

I went for breakfast with a friend last Friday. Georgie and Kate have really embraced the social distancing rules. The cafe looked great lots of space between tables everything immaculately clean. We both had the bigger breakfast and were both totally stuffed after. We sat there chatting for ages but didn't feel rushed to leave. I bought 2 cupcakes for my boys on the way out and they said they were some of the best they'd ever eaten.

Lovely Café, with very friendly staff. Good service, and delicious vegetarian breakfast. Highly recommended.

I visit this cafe on a regular basis and have never had reason to complain. Social distancing good. Staff friendly. Meals are tasty and I think a good price and they are going beyond constant cleaning. Keep up the good work with serving inside and your delivery service. Thanks once again.

Daniel’s is a lovely little cafe. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, the seating has been reduced, but never the less, it continues to be an absolute gem of a place.The staff go out of their way to ensure their customers are happy, the food is freshly cooked and always delicious. If you have room, don’t miss out on one of Kate’s amazing cup cakes.During the lock-down, the cafe continued to supply food to NHS staff and key workers and have gone above and beyond to help the community.Well done Georgie, Kate and team. We visited Daniel's for lunch with our 2 yr old son, we each had a meal deal and were all really pleased, the coronation chicken was especially delicious and the bread was lovely and fresh and thick. They happily fufilled my sons request for a jam sandwich, and the homemade cupcakes after were fantastic! The cafe itself was lovely and clean and they've done really well to adhere to social distancing regulations, even with a smaller space available than most cafes.We'll definitely stop in for lunch again next time we visit Wells

Such friendly staff, great food, and gorgeous small-batch homemade cakes. I highly recommend the fried breakfasts, ploughman's lunch, and the yummy smoothies (pre-packed but lovely - I have actually tried them!). The owner of the cafe works so hard, and did a huge amount to keep Wells fed during lockdown - delivering meals and giving free bacon sandwiches to local NHS staff and key workers. We are so lucky to have this business in Wells. You can have food delivered too, even fried breakfasts, and they are carefully packaged and delivered hot. Heaven on a lazy weekend!

I can't praise this cafe enough.The food is excellent.Today I wanted a chicken and bacon sandwich. They said they didn't do it but said I could have the chicken and they would put rashers of bacon in it. It's was absolutely lovely. It also came with a side salad garni.As it's still in the middle of the pandemic they took my details which I was happy to oblige.Some of the tables have been taken away but that's totally understandable.I always call in for something to eat whenever I'm in Wells.

Needed some brunch quickly, so phoned up and ordered 5 medium sized breakfasts. Very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Was able to substitute toast with baked beans. Took card payment over the phone and 20 minutes later, the food was on the table. (We live a 10 minute drive away) Efficient and friendly delivery driver. Everything was warm and in eco friendly containers. Loved the mushrooms and the fried eggs travelled well. Would definitely do it again if pushed for time or low on groceries! Very impressed and highly recommended.

Arrived in Wells feeling hungray,asked a person in the High Street for somewhere to eat and they recomended Daniel's.so my wife and i settled for that. First i noticed the staff smartly dressed and friendly that is a must. The waitress took our order my wife settled for the ham salad i had cod and chips both were excellant and well presented.The service was good and quick and value for money.My wife and i travel a lot and this is a gem of a place in Somerset we have found,well done to you all see you again

My self and a couple of friends had a brilliant christmas breakfast yesterday at Daniel's cafe, and what a breakfast it was!!We did ring and book as we had been advised itvwas a popular place. We were greeted through the door with a smile, staff were so friendly and attentive, we even had a lovely decorated table with crackers! The food was delicious, and we got mince pies at the end! Mince pies for breakfast!! Even went back again today and had an equally brilliant lunch, and once again lovely cheerful staff. The setting is quaint and very traditional with a lovely warm atmosphere.... definitely a place to visit when in Wells for some good homecooked food and friendly efficient customer service!

If you are a visitor or local this is the place to go, it's where you will feel inclusive not excluded, as I am dairy intolerant they went above and beyond with oat milk ( for my tea ) gluten free bread plus dairy free margarine,they do more than the big coffee house companies, when I am back again I will definitely return

We hadn't been for a couple of months but went this morning, and it has improved lots. Piping hot, well-cooked breakfast, perfect eggs, high quality thick cut bacon and local sausages. Wonderful hash browns and perfect toast. Also good quality bottomless filter coffee! A new favourite for breakfast in Wells. One thing though: baked beans should be included in all the breakfasts as standard! ;)

I visited this local cafe for breakfast with a friend. It was delicious and very filling. Very good value for money and very friendly staff!

Why did we pop into Daniel's? It was the nearest to us on the app! Glad we did. Cosy cafe,room for around 30 and for lunch time there was plenty of room. We always try for somewhere independent and are never disappointed. Served quickly for drinks while looking at the menu,went for a cheese sandwich and a sausage and bacon panini. Both came with crisps and salad. Well filled and delicious. Good value and very pleasant staff,thank you.

Had lunch here today for the first time after many years of of visiting with my grandparents when I was younger. We came with our son and the staff were very friendly and helpful providing a highchair, books and toys. The food was very reasonably priced, good quality and tasty. Would definitely recommend!

Popped in for lunch today, my mum used to take us here all the time when we were little but haven’t been back in years, it’s much nicer now! There were 3 adults a 3 year old and a baby in a pushchair, the staff were amazing they gave us a big table, came over with a box of colouring in stuff for the big one and some pots and toys for the baby! Very patient with us as we took ages to decide what to have, one of the meals was slightly off menu and they were fine about it, food was good and very reasonable priced. We will certainly be back!

Just wanted a quick late lunch and Daniels was recommended and rightly so. Had the all day breakfast, superb! and took home a piece of home made carrot cake, delicious!

Omg if you want an absolutely superb sandwich lunch or salad look no further I love this place I hate salad and even I like their salad their granary bread is amazing And today I had burger and chips on my yum yum and everything is made there or local where possible which is great AND dog friendly how often do you find that in the uk the staff are some of the friendliest I've met in a long time I highly recommend it for lunch if visiting wells or in general

Looking for a light lunch in a busy Wells during May Half Term week, turned away from other cafes because they were full, we found Daniels were able to take us. A friendly welcome, informing us of the specials board etc. We chose 2 all day breakfasts, a baked potatoe, Prawn Salad, all these came with side salad etc..Excellent quality especially the two all day breakfasts which were great value. We would not hesitate in going there again, surprised at the lack of reviews for such a nice friendly café.

I had an hour to kill waiting for a bus so went in here for a coffee. It looks very unpreprossessing and I remember it as a sandwich bar, but the meals looked good at reasonable prices. I just had coffee and a teacake - which was perfect.

On a very cold, winter’s day, all we needed was somewhere to warm up with a large pot of tea. Daniels cafe DIDN’T disappoint. The tea (for two) was brought out in a fabulously large pot and it was brewed to perfection. Whether it was the fact we were so cold or whether it was just brewed with love, who knows!! But that tea, ‘hit the spot!’ We had a bite to eat too and I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. I had a coronation chicken sandwich, which had the tiniest ‘kick’ to it, that made it truly scrumptious. It came with a side salad and a good handful of crisps. Just the right amount for a spot of lunch I felt. The hubby had a chicken & bacon panini with chips. This also came with a side salad and crisps. The chips came out in a separate, fairly bigger than average, bowl, which (considering it was only lunch time) was actually too much for two adults & two kids to devour. This was a good thing; I’d rather be full to the brim than leave still hungry. The two kids shared an adult ham sandwich, of which was very kindly dressed with side-salad and crisps on two SEPARATE plates. Whilst we only ordered sandwiches, the menu did have a ‘main meals’ ie ‘hot food’ part to it. There was also a specials board, which, on the day we visited, had dishes inclusive of ‘Thai fishcakes’, ‘lasagne’, ‘steak & ale pie’ amongst others. I must admit, the one thing that struck me with the quality of the food was how fresh it tasted. From the flavoursome coronation chicken, right down to the little portion of side-salad; it was really tasty and fresh. The setting itself seemed clean, and the atmosphere was quiet, but relaxed. The children were given a colouring book each and plenty of pencils to keep them occupied. The staff genuinely couldn’t have been more attentive; they even talked pleasantries to my youngest one (aged 4) about how good her colouring was. Lol! It might mean nowt to some, but to me, it’s always the little things I notice. All in all, this was a lovely little ‘find’ and I recommend to all.

Called in this morning Saturday 3rd February and chose the ultimate breakfast with a mug of coffee , best breakfast me and my friend have had for a long time served by lovely staff , will definitely come back again soon

My mother and I paid a visit to the Wells market; and, when the shopping was done, we went to have some lunch. Luckily we stumbled across a little cafe called Daniels; the sandwiches were spot-on, the staff were very friendly and we both enjoyed the general vibe. I thoroughly recommend it.

Popped in late morning for an all-day breakfast, after being turned away from another prominent cafe who had snootily said they 'had finished doing breakfasts'. Very welcoming staff, really good food. Nicely decorated, excellent toilet facility.

The staff were very helpful to make sure that the hot chocolate was gluten free and they were able to make it using non-dairy milk. There were gluten free cakes. Service was good and it must be popular as we had trouble finding a table.

Called into Daniels for a drink and decided to have a quick snack so opted to have the cream tea. This was served very nice and the scone was lovely. Also it came with a nice large pot of tea. We saw several meals being served while we were there and they all looked very nice. The cafe itself was kept nice and clean and all the tables were cleared quickly. We can recommend a visit to this cafe.

Stumbled across this place and decided to give it a try instead of the usual chain coffee shops. We were not disappointed and definitely want to go back!We only went for coffee and cake on this occasion but we fancied quite a lot of the things on the menu, so I'm sure we will be back soon for lunch. All the cakes were homemade and the portions were very generous. They were happy to let us takeaway the cakes we couldn't finish. All the staff were really bubbly and friendly. The coffee was really nice too and we were sat at a table at the window, which was lovely to watch the world go by. Would have given them a 5/5 but my biggest pet hate is sticky tables and the one we were sat at was very sticky! That is my only criticism though!

Stopped in here for a sandwich lunch on a busy Saturday. Delicious and very well filled prawn Marie Rose and tuna mayo sandwiches which came with a side salad. Good strong americanos. Very pleasant young staff. Clean loo. Well done.

I visit Wells every so often and we visited yesterday (31st January) and found Daniel's as we were walking up. What a lovely find! A wide selection of food, such as, sandwiches, burgers, salads, cakes, jacket potatoes, specials which get changed daily and good choice of drink. Although it is small and can appear cramped, it has a nice cosy atmosphere - perfect on a rainy day! Staff are all very pleasant and I am sure we will visit again. Thank you very much.

Fantastic little place friendly & accommodating staff Home cooked food 5 in our group some having cooked breakfast & some having roast dinner in a Yorkshire Pud (being from Yorkshire) why not it was all very nice & all cleared our plates only thing I would say is I asked for tea & was offered mug or cup I did ask for cup but it was a very tiny one I would prob prefer a pot of tea as the tiny cup was just too small & I wouldn't want a builders mug either teapots with the small cups would be wonderful :0)

Daniiels' is a lovely place to settle down for breakfast or lunch with the kids in tow. We pop in for lunch and the ladies were lovely. The prices were very reasonable considering the large portions given and just the right kind of food that kids would enjoy. Would be happy to go back again when visiting Wells.

great food lovely coffee latte friendly staff and cheap meals english breakfast and they cater for people who have food allergies which I think is great and I think they should consider servicing more gluten free products but I think its great that they serve bread for coeliacs as iam one my self and there lunches are also fantastic and I think they should have more variety of gluten free cakes

Great hopes for this place as recommended! Gluten Free aware and very nice brownie with fresh cream. BUT! Do staff really gave to shout st each other from one side of the rom to the opposite? A real shame as friendly staff and nice food. And main newspapers too.

Was looking for a place to eat in Wells that would let us take in a small dog. A local person recommend Daniels Sandwich Bar, and we were so glad they did. We found Daniels to be very clean, with a nice bright decor. The drinks and food were good, we had jacket potatoes which were very tasty and there was plenty on the plate. The staff were very friendly. And best of all for us they said they welcome well behaved dogs, providing they are not too busy.

Was directed to this cafe on a day out in Wells. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed every part of the breakfast. Organic products with great taste.

My Son and I found "Daniels" by mistake! We had parked the car & were walking to the Saturday Market, looking for somewhere to have a cooked breakfast. The menu here is substantial with plenty of choice for vegetarians. Deliciously cooked, not greasy and reasonable priced - we look forward to returning (we drove from Yeovil!). The lunch menu looked just as good too! The staff were very welcoming & efficient.

We popped down to Wells for a pre-Christmas wander, and last minute stocking filler shop, and went to Daniel's for lunch.I had a breakfast and the beloved - I can't remember what she had - too much other food eaten between then and now!. It was presented in goodly time and was very tasty.Well worth a visit.

They are open from 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday. The cafe is very small but it is clean and the staff were on the ball! There appeared to be a number of regulars which is a good sign. My partner had an omelette which he proclaimed was very yummy and came with chips and garnish. I had potato and leek soup which was tasty and homemade and served with a very soft white bun. We both had orange juice which came out the bottle but it did the trick. They have a special breakfast and lunch menu running for December and is really good value for money - we were advised to ring and book ahead and also pre-order the lunch. Will definitely be giving it a try.
