Stopped by for coffee. This quirky arty place in the heart of Shepton Mallet. The Art Bank has an extraordinary amount of activities and events. Live music too,!

Can't really remember much because I was a bit drunk, but I think I had a good time. A bit of 90s notalgia.. live DJ... Didn't have to wait too long at the bar. Relaxed atmosphere.

I'd award fifteen stars on each measure if I could. Beautiful place, we loved the home produced look, Cuban music or similar, and everyone was relaxed. Even the young person serving late Sunday afternoon who wasn't familiar with a machiatto. From a little description she cheerfully produced a perfect coffee. I wish we lived nearby

Ah the place is quite special. Beautiful building. Big windows. Sense of spaciousness. Smiley people who make your coffee. They love my dog Daisy. Sipping coffee under a tree, in a cafe, in Shepton Mallet, was not quite my plan this summer but has proven to be my favorite ritual of the day. Beautiful, artistic, open, relaxing, character, colours, creation, music

Absolutely fantastic must-see creative art place with wonderful food and lovely people. We enjoyed it VERY much, didn't know where to look first with all the creative artwork around us. Sure we will be back, best of luck to you

Incredible ickle gem of a place. Saw the inspirational, high vibrational Mobius Loop here, very intimate, beautiful venue, great service and staff. So much to look at and such a great community, lifted the roof off with the insainely talented band and amazing audience, we will be back! Much gratitude x

A great quirky cafe/bar/art gallery/performance venue. Sit amongst various art installations, enjoy a cup of tea, great cakes, soft and alcoholic drinks. This (you may have guessed) is an ex-bank building with much of the traditional high-ceilinged and high windowed character retained. But unlike banks, it is the venue for many alternative, off-the-wall art and cultural events and workshops. We'll worth a visit to see what's going on.

Stopped for a drink & a cake unfortunately they have 7 different teas but no green tea 😢 but my husband had a coffee which he said was lovely and I had cake lime and coconut, which was yummy. Such an interesting place, loads to look at. I'd definitely go back and make sure I have a tea bag with me !

Stopped for a quick coffee in this quaintly decorated not for profit cafe. The staff were both professional and friendly. While the coffee lay pleasantly on the palate. The cakes looked delicious and I will be trying them on my next visit.

Good Spanish jazz trio and a great Mojito

Fantastic gem of a cafe located in the old bank in the heart of Shepton! I knew from my first peek around the door I had to enter for an explore! From the fabulous recycled artwork on the walls to the mobile phone screens leading to the art exhibition, the whole place is a delightful and colourful feast for the eyes and really (if you are like me!) gets your creative juices flowing! The tunes playing were a delightful mix of upbeat melodies without being too in your face! Friendly smiley staff and a wonderful selection of reasonably priced drinks (throughly recommend their oatmilk Orange hot chocolate!) Will definitely be returning!

Great place - some real effort put into the decor

Amazing place, lovely food, best coffee, great atmosphere. This place has the best interior ever with all the brilliant art to look at. Only been once so far but want to visit lots as will soon be living closer by.

Okay to call in and have a drink different thing to look at made from recycled materials

Very relaxed & comfortable atmosphere, staff were friendly. However they got our order wrong when we asked for a coffee & tea, only to be served with 2 coffees, they had no pastries or cakes available. They explained they had only been open that day since the weekend, so you would have thought they would use that time to make some knowing they were open on the Wednesday.

Quirky/nice, clientele much older than expected....probably very different in the evening, good coffee and pleasant service, suits this lovely little town - I will return and try a meal

A little hidden gem in Shepton Mallet. The bar man made me a lovely cherry mojito and had an lovely little stater with homemade bread and hoummus. Very friendly staff too.

Visiting Shepton Mallet prison and wanted a drink before our visit. Found this on the high street in an old bank. The name of the place is a giveaway.COVID friendly, young lady that server us was really nice and friendly. Coffee was really good and the chocolate orange brownie although a little small tasted great. Would visit again if we were in the area again

We popped in for a coffee on a wet morning (well Monsoon !) this cafe / bar is so quirky and a delight. I would love to go back in the evening and experience as I understand they have some fun entertainment in the evening .

We popped in here for a quick drink one evening and were pleasantly surprised! We didnt know what to expect but as we were out exploring thought we should pop in.Loads of old memorabilia and lots of 70's music playing - just up our street. Very pleasant staff and comfortable seating.

My partner and I stumbled across Art Bank Cafe whilst visiting Shepton Mallet and were so glad that we did! There wasn't a great deal going on in the town itself but this place really redeemed it for us, so much so that we returned the next evening. The cocktails were fab and most importantly it has a great vibe. The owner Dmitri was really good fun and made us feel very welcome, he has a great passion for art and has some really interesting pieces on display. I highly recommend a visit if you're in town!

Brilliant meld of interesting art, delicious cafe food & drink and wonderful hospitality from everyone who works there. The food is vegan, which could put off carnivores but it really shouldn’t as all the food, sweet and savoury, is delicious. I’m not vegan but I love it all.. and the coffee is the best coffee I have had anywhere.

Such a fabulous place. Quirky art inspired by Alice in Wonderland. A cosy and retro atmosphere. We forgot our wallet, and the guy gave us a cup of tea for free! Cake looked marvellous! Also serving alcohol/food on certain evenings (but not every day).

Have visited a couple of times for coffee and cake. The staff are delightful - and the cake excellent. This has to be the funkiest place around to sit and enjoy a coffee surrounded by some highly imaginative works of "rubbish art"The premises alo hosts some interesting meetings and events but we haven't sampled these yet.Well worth a visit.

The ABC is housed in the old HSBC Bank in the centre of Shepton Mallet. The Building was re purposed as a Community venue, including the Rubbish Art Project that has charity funding to provide activities for all ages using recycled items.The Art Bank Cafe also hosts many evenings, such as Poetry Slams, Acoustic Open Mic evenings, and other charity fundraisers that are ALL well attended.However, it's great to just drop in for a cuppa and a cake. It is also about to get a licence to serve alcohol, so you will also be able to get a beer or glass of wine.

A great community cafe with a relaxed and welcoming feel. Wonderful pieces of art made from junk and plastic. Friendly and fun.
