Incredible food. So tasty and wonderful variety.

It was here I had my most recent Filipino cuisine back in the UK after a month and a half in the Philippines and what a way to do it. All the amazing familiar flavours from the Pearl of the Orient but with classic local British meat quality. It is a fantastic combination I will never get bored of. The owner’s mother should be extremely proud of what the kitchen is putting out. Maraming salamat.

I've eaten at Aurora Kusina many times now, but only just got round to leaving a review! This place is an absolute gem, we travel over an hour to come here and eat and it's always worth it. The food is delicious and they regularly change the menu, which keeps us coming back for more! The Fili cheese stek lumpia is something I always have, but the whole menu is full of exciting, new flavours. I cannot recommend Aurora Kusina highly enough.

If i could give six stars then I would. We went last night, 6/4/24, the food was, well, just WOW! Beautifully tasty, well presented and served with such a smile. Shepton has a little gem here, we will certainly be back for more. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Such a charming little filipino restaurant with delicious foods, a friendly staff and excellent chefs. I got the chicken adobo, which was so tasteful, there was so much meat, and the pickeled vegitable were excellent. My girlfriend really enjoyed the crispy tofu, and we both enjoyed the ube cheesecake for dessert. The owners are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet ❤️

Outstanding local Filipino food. All home cooked by the owners using their Grandmothers recipes. The food was delicious and they went out of their way to accommodate our food sensitivities. For dessert we had the incredible purple cheesecake. Highly recommend.

Fabulous food, absolutely lovely hosts (Amber & Ross) and a gem of a restaurant! We were recommended here whilst visiting Somerset ,by a friend of ours and it didn’t disappoint ! The food was delicious- everything we ate was great and Amber’s obvious passion for the food , and the great service meant I wouldn’t hesitate to go back next time we are in Somerset! I've had this particular restaurant on my list to visit for such a long time but I live a little far out from Shepton Mallet. As my mum is Filipino I always like to find gems like this that remind her of home in the Philippines and Aurora Kusina did not disappoint! I took her here as a belated bday treat. Honestly, the food was outstanding. I can see the "twist" on the traditional Filipino dishes but the essence of that "home cooked" feeling was not lost. Definitely brought me childhood feels. We shared a bit of everything; Aurora's OG Lumpia, Longganisa Meatballs, Chicken Adobo and Kaldereta. The No Waste Turon was a lovely end to our meal, as recommended by Amber. I called in advance to take home a couple Ube Cheesecakes and a few Mango Floats and it was SO appreciated by my fiancé and family who couldn't join us. I personally think I should have brought home more! Amber and Ross, thank you again for the sensational food and wonderful hospitality! Will definitely back for more.

Excellent Filipino food experience

Good grief! What a find. We walked into what looked like a charming cafe/bistro with a very calm and comfortable air and decor. We felt immediately welcome. Becky, our server, helped us decide between unfamiliar dishes with expert insights and recommendations. The food... out of this world. Everything was cooked, flavoured and seasoned to perfection, served with a knowing smile and every plate left the table empty (except for half of a portion of exquisite purple baked cheesecake, which came home with us). Thank you for a truly wonderful meal.

What a fabulous place -so blessed that this is so close- food to die for, service that makes you feel cared for and did I mention the food?? Unctuous and earthy or zingy, spicy and fresh, it really is a taste explosion - you will kick yourself that you haven't been before -I did! Thank you Aurora Kusina, can't wait to visit again. Interesting food and reasonable prices

Last Friday night, my wife and daughter treated me to a meal out for my birthday. I had always want to try Aurora Kusina but never seemed to get around to it - thankfully my family are more organised than I am! We ordered a variety of meals and all of them were superb; my Pork Humba was extraordinary - we will definitely return and recommend Aurora Kusina to our friends.

Genuinely the best food we've had for a long time and different too in terms of ingredients and taste sensations. A culinary exploration and delight. Two different starters, two mains, two desserts. Perfection for us. We are local and will return but, if you live further away, it is highly recommended and should be visited. Vegan and gluten free selection on menu too. It is a cosy restaurant so advisable to book for an evening dinner.

Wow! Blown away by the quality of the food. We ordered takeaway (there is a 10% discount) and had the Fili cheese stek, glazed corn, prawn pancit and chicken inasal. Every dish was amazing, such good flavours. We both agreed it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time! Really well presented and friendly service. If you want takeaway rather than eat in, it’s best to call them at lunch and put your order in as it is a small business. All credit cards accepted. Food was still hot after the 20 minute drive home. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Had a really delicious meal here for lunch today. All 3 of us had different dishes and we all enjoyed the freshly cooked, incredibly tasty food.

Came here as a big group of us and tried every dish on the menu. We were impressed that everything tasted amazing! Service was great too. Definitely save space for the Ube Cheesecake for dessert, that was delicious.

Amazing, authentic Filipino comfort food, lovely drinks, and a great atmosphere! Definitely worth the journey, even if we don't live in Shepton Mallet. A must-go for anyone who wants to try Filipino food, with some veggie and vegan alternatives. They've got a new summer menu as well, so lovely, fresh options! We had the Aurora's OG lumpia, the Humba, and the Chicken Inasal. Plus some lovely sides: the grilled corn and the spicy pineapple salad. They're also very good with allergies and accommodating for any needs. They have a lovely selection of cocktails with Filipino liquors and mocktails as well. Must book though, as we found out (when we got there, as we booked in advance) that they were fully booked for the evening. Side note, they do offer a pick-up service as well, but you need to book in a slot, as they have a small-ish kitchen and fit the take-away options around their seatings. Definitely check it out!

Wow wow wow. This is such a gem of a restaurant! We headed down from Bristol to feast here for my partner's birthday. They have a vegan pork crackling style starter that is truly unbelievable. The mains were stunning and the cocktails were also brilliant. What a treasure of a place for Shepton Mallet!

Had our first delicious meal here last night. It was such a stylish and cosy setting and the food was wonderful. We ate without even thinking of taking photos, it was that tasty! It had a really authentic feel. The flavours really reminded me of South East Asian food I was prepared by my grandmother when I was young, flavours I have never found in a restaurant in this country before. Feel really lucky to have those in our little town. Thank you Amber and Ross.

I highly recommend this place. You can feel the love and dedication given to every detail and the service and attention from Amber and Ross couldn't be better. I first knew about them after visiting Tapestry brewery and they had a pop up there. Ever since I have tried their food in various occasions and I was never disappointed. The food is delicious and tasty. My favourite is the chicken adobo but they have different options including vegan. If you are looking for soul food in a nice atmosphere this is a must.
