Great pub. Very helpful and obliging for a large group. Not much parking but we managed!

“Went for the four meat mixed roast, everything about it was first class” will be returning soon.

Without doubt the best Sunday roast. During the week the menu is also good pub food but it’s on a Sunday they excel. Hard to beat even in London.

Cracking . Best in Hertford . The food is cooked - not pre prepared or bought in . This a McMullens pub - but its run by people who care . Anywhere we eat a Sunday roast out the verdict is " Its good - but its not the Millstream " . Park in Beane road and walk 30 seconds round the corner .

Great lunch in a pub I didn't know existed even though I lived in the area for years. What a find. The lunch menu was small but good. Although not on the menu our friends recommended the mussels which they fortunately had. amazingly good. Parking appeared difficult as the pub is in a tiny road.

Really tasty food. Would highly recommend going. Only thing was the music was realky loud and found it hard to have a conversation.

Really nice country pub, visited for lunch with my new colleagues who are regulars. Had the sausage and mash, which was really tasty and freshly cooked. The staff are friendly, the vibe is traditional, and they appear to be dog friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely food but they add the tip to the bill without your consent (for the record i was going to tip with cash)... Will not be going back there was nothing special about the service

First visit (odd as I live within a few miles) on a busy Friday night. The food was excellent. I had the padron peppers and Monkfish curry. Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Will certainly be back.

I really enjoyed sitting outside in the autumn having a pint. Good parking and seating space outside - a bonus is that it faces south and you get the sun all day in summer. I might be swimming upstream here but I found the previous roasts better. The platter for 2 (or 4) just gave the edge in presentation and the essence of a Sunday roast feeling…. especially if you are sitting with family and you are all sharing. For the single roast, the gravy wasn’t rich enough and the meal itself wasn’t as hot as I’d liked. None the less, a decent place for lunch and a beer - I would return but feel 3 stars is fair.

We held our 25th wedding anniversary at the Millstream last night. Attending were 24 various aged people and each and every one had a lovely time. We had arranged a set menu (was given a choice of 3 starters, mains and desserts) and had notified Bridie beforehand. The food was served hot and delicious, the service excellent, the atmosphere was lovely. Thoroughly recommend this establishment.

Great place for when we can't be bothered to cook! Standard pub fayre, well cooked and presented, served by friendly and attentive staff and at a reasonable price - can't really ask for more!

I visited here the other day for lunch with my parents. We had a warm welcome from the staff and got seated in the conservatory (highly recommended). The food was delicious and fresh. We didn't have to wait for long for it to come out. The price was fair and I would definitely come back😀

Food was good quality very limited selection for those who choose a plant based diet. We dined in one of the 'sheds' comfortable and private. Food and drink service was efficient and polite. Don't think our food server smiled once. Everywhere very clean, including toilets. Overall a good experience.

We booked one of the heated huts for a birthday celebration. Our experience was perfect and very reasonably priced. The Roast Chicken dinner was to die for. The servers were very attentive. Would highly recommend it , thank you

I found a hair in my food and then highlighted this to the staff very aggressive on the defence food was very very bland stay away also racist against coloured raced avoid

chicken under cooked and had bloody and kids meal was shocking Showed the lady cleaning table and she disregarded it and walked off. My partners food roast beef was cooked perfectly

Amazing roast- I had the pork. There was so much meat. We had extra helpings of vegetables as find most places don’t give you much.

Pub was busy so parking was difficult to say the least Food was better than average (Sunday roast) with service more than acceptable Only downside was overly loud diners making everybody else shout just to hear themselves think

Wonderful pub garden. An oasis you wouldn't expect from the front of the building. Also, a great selection of crisps.

It was my first time here . The Sunday roast lamb leg was great. The mussels was amassing and the apple crumble dessert was delicious.

Came here at the start of the year and had an outstanding steak & ale pie, and have been longing to come back since. This time we sat outside in their nice beer garden out back. We had the chicken burger, fish and chips, and shared the bread & butter pudding. Both mains were amazing. Huge piece of fish with light crispy batter. I’m not a big chip person, but love the chips here too. The bread & butter pudding was one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend.

Fabulous food and lovely location. I found this pub on trip advisor and it had really good reviews. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent and they have a lovely garden to sit in. They also have private cabanas in the garden to eat in. They are popular in winter as they are heated and have Bluetooth in them. We will definitely be returning.

Popped in after a bike ride from London along the Lea Valley. Friendly staff, great Sunday lunch and dessert (white and milk chocolate bread and butter pudding was tip top), and beer kept well. We sat out in the beer garden area, well kept, tidy, and staff diligent at clearing and checking all ok. Proper neighbourhood pub which was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Hands down the tastiest burger I have ever had (chicken cajun burger)! We will 100% be returning, the food was amazing! My son had the kids beef burger (photo) which was equally tasty! Can't wait to go back, and hopefully will be warm enough to sit outside as the garden looked lovely!

Booked sunday roast and wssnt dissappointed .it was the best we chose the 4 mixed meat roast .pork beef lamb chicken.swede carrot mash. cabbage.broccli.yorkshire pudding.roast potatos.we asked for gravy on side.and side dish was caulifower chese .and that was the best i have ever eaten out The whole meal was so good.service was good .if you eat in conservatory it can get very hot. Cant wait to have another roast in the mill stream.

Had a superb Sunday lunch. Their suckling pig was awesome. Excellent selection of vegetables. Started with calamari and end with baked pear in cider… Lovely service, good beers and wine.

Great food and great service been twice recently and both times food was lovely. Just remember to book early as Sunday lunch is very popular. Highly recommend.

Food and service were excellent. One party member had the mussels starter and said it was the best he had ever had. Staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. Unfortunately we didn’t save enough room for a dessert.

I am not a local, my Wife took me here after visiting relatives. It looks like a back street locals pub, thought it might be ok, but it was exceptional, super service from the waitress, a really good menu, and both our meals were superb. Whoever runs this place and cooks really knows their stuff. Wonderful and highly recommended.

Just had drinks here before and decided to have a,meal. We started off having salt and pepper chicken nice and spicey .then the pork was delious and the salmon .the sauce was realy good.and we shared the bread and butter pudding for dessert with ice cream and custard .bottle of wine and coffee.service was nice.it was a saturday at 4 we booked so wasnt busy we werent rushed .we will be back .realy lovely meal .

I've eaten and drunk here a few times, the, staff are lovely, decent selection of beers and wine, and very tasty food, in summer it's fabulous, but in winter it's very hard to just pop in as it's small inside and very popular, my favourite pub in Hertford for sure

Thoroughly recommend this hidden gem! Four of us had a Sunday roast. Food quality & portion size were excellent. Staff & service were just as good. Toilets were spotless. (Says a lot about a place) Even made our dog feel welcome, giving him lots of fuss! Thank you to all at the Millstream, we'll definitely return!

A real find..a smiling greeting to everyone who entered and we so enjoyed our meal. This is what a 'local' should be and I hesitate to speak too highly of it in case we can't get in next time we visit. Seriously though, a really great lunch visit and the guy with his paper and dog..the two small parties of regulars must be a good indication of the consistent good vibes..well done Millstream..we will be back..Ralph and Lynn

Meal was excellent one small critism is the roast potatoes where hard. That's probably because I'm fussy on how I like my potatoes. But I recommend this place as the rest of the meal was very good.

We had a lovely time dining with friends. The service wa superb and the food exceptional and reasonably-priced. I was a little put-off by the welcome and to be told that the kitchen was closing and that we couldn't order any starters, not the reception I am used to

Visited for a Saturday lunchtime with friends we hadn't seen since before lockdown and passed a perfectly relaxed and enjoyable couple of hours.

Had another fantastic meal at the Millstream. Their food is excellent, the best Sunday roast around. What was also fantastic yesterday, more was the way the staff were so helpful in sorting out us getting to our car after the severe flooding. Wonderful experience couldn’t recommend it enough. I can not rate this place high enough. Not only is the food awesome but the staff are amazing, friendly attentive and go the extra mile to ensure all their guests have the very best time. We went for Sunday lunch, there was a problem with our booking ( our problem not theirs ) and the Team could not have been more amazing. Great food great front of house team at great prices. We went to the Millstream today as a last minute thing we hadn’t booked a table and as always it was packed. Nicki the owner bent over backwards to slot it in between two bookings :D we couldn’t believe our luck. My husband had the most amazing Roast dinner and I had Skate! I love skate wing and it’s something that isn’t that common to find in restaurants so it shows that Nicki and Pete are always a cut above the rest with the always winning menu - thanks guys 10/10

Booked in for Sunday lunch today, 9/10/22., for two of us. Shown to our table immediately for 1:30pm sitting. First drinks providing promptly and food order taken as well. All staff were very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Sat at a table in the Bar area, which was cosy. Food of beef and chicken for main dishes was excellent. Excellent place to dine and the Guinness was good as well. Full marks to the Millstream for their attentive staff and excellent food. We have been a few times before and will definitely come again. 👏👏👏👏👏

Busy evening, even on a Tuesday night. Advance booking is recommended. Excellent food and portion size impressively big. Battered haddock is delicious. Really friendly and efficient staff. Definitely a 5* place hidden off the beaten track of busy Hertford.

Very pleasant surprise and find. Food excellent. Not the cheapest but good value and looked very popular. Also lovely garden at back which we didn’t use. Nice conservatory. Parking a slight issue but we got parked ok. Walk if possible. Will recommend and return. Portions very good in fact we couldn’t finish but we did have the sharer main course dish. Muscles (starter) where very good. Excellent. The lady running the show is right on the money. She presumably is an owner or the best manager I’ve come across! I run my own company and I’d employ her in a flash. Very nice to see for a change!

I went here as a destination with a scooter club from Sawbridgeworth. A very nice rideout down empty country lanes to get here!! Lots of satisfying real ales, ciders, & bottled drinks. I had a very enjoyable eat in meal of sausages, mash, gravy & peas. I would recommend this establishment to everyone in the area.

We had a wonderful family lunch for my birthday with nine of us being no problem for the staff. The food was amazing. My choice of a half lobster with gorgeous chips was super. Service great as well. Highly recommend this pub/ restaurant. We are lucky to have it on our doorstep living in Millmead Way.
