We had Haddock and chips, and we were not disappointed. They use fresh fish, and cooking oil and batter from healthy products. Happy to travel from Sawbridgeworth to collect freshly cooked takeaway !!

We tried here based on the Trip Advisor reviews. The food was adequate but nothing outstanding. The fish fillets were very thin. The chicken quarter was extremely dry and overcooked The chips were cold (we had to reheat at home). Won’t be going back. Disappointing

Ordered fish and chips, battered sausage and chips and onion rings. All nice and freshly cooked to order, onion rings were about best we have ever had! :-) Next time I will try the pizzas, didn’t know they were doing it, perfect for kids. The place is always clean and presentable, staff are nice. Will be back.

Went for a delivery of cod and chips during lockdown. It’s not a meal we have often but I cannot fault the meal or the service. It was delivered on time, did not need re-heating and had a taste and smell that brought back many memories. Will definitely revisit.

My brother in law has been raving about this F&C so thought I would give it a go.The batter is wonderfully crisp and the chips are some of the best I've tasted.Seem to be a few negative comments which related to the previous owners, and some to the current incumbents when they first set up shop. Judging by our order last night these were just teething issues. Friendly staff, great portion sizes, great value, excellent quality and they deliver for free.

I was at Bishops Stortford last week to pick up my son. Was originally going to eat at the popular pantry place but changed my mind when I walked past this Fish&Chips shop.Asked the gentleman which fish he recommended and I think I had Haddock and chips which came to a total of £7.90. I thought it was a little expensive but when I opened the box, the portion was VERY generous and I couldn't finish all the chips. The batter for the fish was very good - the gentleman in the shop said if the fish wasn't good, he would give me money back! The colour of the batter was golden and not dark brown, another very promising sign for me. It felt fresh too. It was very good - thank you.The chips was good, not as amazing as the fish and its batter.They charge for ketchup/mayonnaise - not sure if that's a standard practice.Thank you for the great fish. Absolutely the best fish and chips you can buy in the area by a long shot. The service is second to none. I asked for the fish to be without the skin and they were more than obliging, explaining that the size of the fish will seem smaller by 5%. Also they do not use frozen fish, only fresh. The taste of the fish confirmed that. They're also cheaper than most which absolutely boggles the mind as the quality outstrips anything else. The best fish and chips experience we've had by miles. Well done and thank you for such a personal service.

Honestly the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Wings are 10/10 and the new pizzas are amazing. The staff are super friendly and service is excellent. Prices are amazing for the quality of food.

My family and I were in need of some fish a chips, and happened to come across Dali's fish and chips place. To say we were satisfied would be a great injustice to the awesome man that served us. Flaky fish and freshly made chips, topped off with fresh home made curry sauce that rivalled aunty Gwenda's from Blyth. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Super clean, super helpful especially as I thought I’d ordered a chicken quarter and reserved three quarters of a chicken! Well cooked fresh fish, light batter and great chips not at all oily. Will pull off M11 again if heading this way.

Lovely looking place and the owner was wonderfully friendly and cheery. We both ordered haddock as well as chips, mushy peas and a pickle. One of the fish came out and the owner refused to let us have it as the batter had split and he said the fish would be ruined. So we waited (he offered us free chips while we waited!) and it was sooooo worth it! Really great fish and the batter is delicious. Chips were great too.

My toddler daughter fancied fish and chips so we bought some from here for lunch. We were greeted by two lovely men who opened the door for us (I was pushing a buggy). We ordered a large haddock and chips and whilst waiting, one of the guys gave us some chips to eat which my daughter appreciated. He was so lovely, place is very welcoming and we very much enjoyed our fish and chips as portion was good and both tasted amazing! Can’t wait to be back.

First of all the place is clean. Our fish and chips arrived quickly. Very fresh and crispy fish,top quality chips. We have also ordered b&q pork ribs and chicken wings. What can I say .Pork ribs were succulent in gorgeous sauce ,absolutely to die for .Chicken wings large and spicy .All in all the experience was fantastic. Staff very friendly ,reasonable prices, absolutely delicious food. Highly recommended.

order online some fish, chips and calamari. everything was fresh and tasty. you can notice everything was just made and they deliver very fast. A+

Came up from Cambridge shopping and fancied some traditional Fish n Chips. Had children’s and adults meals and honestly the best fish and chips we have had. My other half even said he would drive back there to get them next time!!!!

This is about Dali Fish and Chips which took over from Bishop's Fish and Chips.. When the new name is on TA I'll rewrite this!What a shame, this used to be a great chip shop until the previous owners sold up and moved on.. no more home made pies and no friendly service.Been a few times now it's almost a case of 3 strikes and out..First time, ok, but didn't know it had changed. fair enough but disappointed Second time, ready for the change, but not impressed with food handling practices viewed in plain sight.. a saveloy removed from the fridge one side of the shop, and carried dangling (almost waved about) down from a hand going behind the scenes, only there to be put in a plastic container to go in the microwave.. result in the morning from somebody who only had chips and curry sauce... tummy troubles and ache, and another person who had other stuff, tummy troubles..Ok, another chance, maybe bad luck, two portions of chips ordered.. plain and simple what could go wrong eh?First portion arrived, in a roll... erm.. nope not what was ordered.. went behind the scenes and not sure what went on then.. only for said roll to be carried by hand and just placed on a surface at the back behind the counter, not on anything just the bare counter.. obviously must have been "butter" or spread on the roll as after the person put it there, he licked his hand!!!!!!!!!!!!! A "new" portion" was put in a container and in a bag. The other forgotten.. that was rectified though.. got home and ate them, not bad..BUT, following morning, more tummy aches...So, as you can gather, we won't be back for many reasons!

Until today I hadn't been since the new owners took over a few weeks ago.

Went there with my family and this is by far the best in town, friendly customer service and fresh quality products, lovely clean and bright space with an option to eat in, relaxed and even had a very good and pleasant chat with the owners. It's my only go to from now on. Been there already 3 times this month and definitely coming back again soon.

Being in Devon I'm blessed with some very good Fish and Chip shops with mainly locally caught fish.

Not sure if this has changed hands but NO where as good as it has been since opening some 3 yrs ago! What a shame as this used to be The Best in town.

First night in our new home and this helped our tired bones! This was the first place we tried and we will be back. Piping hot food, loads of taste too and not greasey, the only criticism was that they didn't put the salt and vinegar on as asked, we couldnt find the right box in which ours was packed in, but this wont stop us from going back!

Quite simply fab - and the pies are to die for. Maybe slightly pricier than other chippie's but 100% worth it - check it out!

I’m a real regular here..and why? Fantastic fish n chips cooked fresh to order.fresh batter,lovely clean place to eat,friendly staff and good service with a smile. Delicious side orders served too My favourite is cod n chips.. The best potatoes too

The lady who works here is ever so friendly and chatty. The food is fresh and fish cooked to order not kept warm. Portions are very generous.

Fish is freshly cooked - not laying in the hot cabinet and drying out. Friendly service. There aren't many chip shops in Stortford but this is the best. Take away only. Re value, typical chip shop prices - fish'n'chips is not a cheap meal anymore . About £8 a head for medium cod and more than enough chips for 2

I have had chips from here on several occasions now and always been very tasty. Staff friendly. So much better than fishy biz was.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the quality of food as I didnt even get a chance upon entering this shop to be served. This must clearly be the best fish and chip shop in the world as they dont even need customers to make a profit. Standing continuing a long conversation with friends and then sarcastically enquiring if a customer needs anything after they leave is not customer service. I will stick to my local thanks.

We are used to fish suppers in Manchester so was a little taken aback and flustered handing over 10 quid expecting change but being asked for another fiver! That said....perfect fish and chips cooked freshly in scalding hot fat and generous portions....and tasty mushy peas. You do get what you pay for....the best for many a while.

This is a fairly new fish and chip takeaway and a very welcome addition to the town. Its run by friendly people and the food is really good quality. Their pies, which are made by a small independent supplier, are particularly good and you can't get them anywhere else. Now that Fishybiz, their main rival has closed, this is the best in town by some margin.

Last night we had a meal at a friends house, the batter was greasy, the fish over cooked and the chips were dreadful.......... all little bits......... not proper chips at all. This was our fist experience of Bishops and it will be our last.

Been here several times now and have recommended to friends and family. Everyone who has had it has really enjoyed it! Really fresh fish and extremely friendly and warm service too.

We had Plaice + Chips takeaway , my daughter thought it was the best she had eaten ! Very nicely packed for takeaway , freshly cooked.

My wife and I have tried this new fish and chip shop a few times now! Must say I that it is better than its nearest rival, great quality and generous portions! I'd recommend a large fish and chips from here anytime 👍
