Lovely hotel and pub. Cozy, thoughtfully put together rooms and tasty menu options in the pub. Will definitely be booking again when next in the area.

We had a terrific time. Rooms spotlessly clean and all staff a delight. Great food. Nice little touches everywhere. We will be back.

Absolutely awful! Went with my family for Boxing Day dinner as I have done for the last few years, booked for 3pm, still waiting for our starter at 3.45pm, no one came to see how we are and it wasn’t even busy. Felt worse when the people near us which were there when we walked in were eating there starter then had finished there dinner and was asked by there waitress whether they’d like there dessert while we were still waiting with no food. Absolutely poor service, totally spoilt our special day

I really enjoyed coming for 'Breakfast with Santa' this morning. The service was great, the food was lovely and filling and it has a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely visit again and I would highly recommend it to people too.

We have just visited and had breakfast with. Food was amazing and come out so quickly. Very reasonably priced. Everyone seemed be enjoying themselves. Santa was great and my daughter enjoyed meeting him. We will be coming back again very soon. Thank you Sam and staff

Was welcomed by happy polite staff and that’s all the staff there ever since our first visit in the late summer. They welcome the dogs also which is great and the food range and allergies menu is brilliant also . What great place to eat and drink and will be going more often

I stayed in the hotel for two nights and really liked my stay. I had a meal in the pub on Friday night and enjoyed the whole ambience. What a lovely place.

Many thanks to Joanne for such a warm welcome.. Our room was beautiful, spotless clean and very cosy. Joanne explained everything around breakfast/evening meal and local attractions as we was staying for the weekend. We have been look after by izzy and sam who are both very professional, polite and helpful. Breakfast was great with a great choice. And our evening meals where amazing. The signature burger was one of the beat I've had in a very long time. Washed down with a few Guinness then a nice bottle of malbec.. Credit to the management and the whole team.. We will definitely be staying again.

A small hotel attached to the Chef and Brewer run pub of the same name. Most rooms are on the ground floor with a huge car park adjacent. Rooms with access for limited mobility are available. Dog friendly, with a £10 per night surcharge. The pub is dog friendly too. Rooms are generally good to excellent although some of the TVs were not working while we were there. The choice of cooked breakfasts is very good and very well presented. The evening meals in the pub were good to excellent.

Reasonably comfortable, the odd thing not perfect in the rooms (e.g. tv not working at first, hard pillows, towel rail seemed broken but then did come on later etc) but this only dropped them 1 star. Staff very friendly. Dog friendly, which is why we chose it.

We went to have a Sunday Roast Dinner. The pub itself is cozy and welcoming. The food was great and the gravy is the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I would say the roast potatoes could’ve been better - but I’m being picky because everything else was top tier! Sam, our waitress, was very friendly and service was quick. I would recommend!

Stayed in the hotel, staff were so accommodating, amazing food at the inn, great atmosphere and the room was very lovely!

I came here with the mrs and had the chefs special venison burger and was absolutely blown away, the celeriac and apple slaw beautifully complimented the delicate venison while the onion chutney danced in the background creating a symphony on my pallet. Absolutely astounding Bravo

Enjoyed lovely meal at the Feathers - not just chain pub fare - tasty, fresh food and for such good prices. Service was good at the bar and in the restaurant (Caitlin) - really nice atmosphere in bar and restaurant.

Can't rate highly enough, we only stayed for 1 night, but everything was perfect, the rooms was first class, we was a family of 3 and we had 9 suitcases as we was leaving the country the next day on a permanent basis, so we was quite stressed, but the staff at this hotel were so helpful and so friendly that it made things a lot easier, lovely bar and a lovely breakfast too. Highly recommend

Excellent value for money! We Live in Ware and stayed here the night before going to stansted. The rooms are by far the cutest country rooms I've ever stayed in. They have everything you need, down to iron and ironing board, plenty of tea and coffee, and great toiletries. Much more cost effective and comfier than the premier inn. The receptionist was incredibly hospitable and friendly and I would 100% recommend coming here for short stays and business stays. This Hotel and restaurant is run to an expecional level!

Family wedding in location and Feathers recommended for both rooms and food if required. Very tidy, clean and staff professional.

I really enjoyed my recent stay at the feathers. My room was clean and the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. My evening meal in the pub was lovely and Natasha looked after me well. Lovely rooms. Iron, fan, bath and shower. Biscuits, water and even chocolates in your room. The little things are SO important! Excellent accommodation!! 👍

Roast Beef rib is to die for, however the roast is ruined by the roast potatoes. Thr meat is 11/10 however roast potatoes are 4/10 .. Beautiful garden, location, area otherwise...

Food was good when it eventually arrived. We appreciate it was Father's Day and apparently only one chef on duty but we waited over an hour for our mains.Not quite as long for puddings.Friendly staff but probably won't return.

Rubbish service, waited hour to be seated, over another hour and still waiting for food. Quicker to get Pizza delivered staff stressed, badly managed would not return and about to walk out.

Rooms were average, easy commute for work, restaurant was good.

Came here for dinner and they were massively understaffed. Waited over an hour for our dinner to arrive and had to ask 3 times for mayonnaise. Couldnt find anyone to pay the bill and when we eventually did it turned out there were just 2 members of staff looking after the hotel, the restaurant and the bar. Really not good, not the staffs fault as they were trying their best but definitely wouldnt come back here which is a shame as it was a nice pub and the food was decent.

I was extremely disappointed by the issues experienced at your pub on Saturday 8th June. What had been planned well in advance to celebrate a joyous occasion was extremely disappointing. The food was cold and was served at different times. Example my starter of soup came late whilst others were eating their mains. Steak was well done when it should have been rare. The table was thrown together with cutlery missing for 14 guests. As I have already reported the concerns with the duty manager yesterday I am expecting a call to rectify these concerns. The entainment trade should employ staff that can communicate when offering a service this was not experienced as the staff who tried to wait the table on Saturday were appalling. With no communication interpersonal skills. I will not be eating at this place again nor will I recommend it as an eatery.

What a rip off! They offer a mini dessert and coffee and the dessert is so small its gone in one mouthful and it’s nothing like a trifle.We won’t be going back

Been an hour waiting for starter, not a great start for the meal!!!! Update Well we eventually received our meals. Food was nice mains were an additional wait but on a plus side the processed the bill within 3min…. The pie required the use of an industrial grinder to get into the dry filling

I just want to say how amazing our waitress was at our recent visit. Raine was so friendly and great fun. She took a real interest in her customers and shared some very funny stories with us. Made our experience so much better as my food arrived very late and ended up eating on my own, rather than with my friends! Thank you Raine for being so entertaining and a great waitress! We’ll be back just to come and see you! xx

Just a simple overnight stay, arrived around 9pm left at 7. Reception was staffed and check in was easy. Room was decent and of a good standard. Would stay here again.

The restaurant food was great, however the rooms weren't at first it looked really clean and I was settled but then I look over at the bed next to mine and there's BLOOD spots that looked like bed bugs blood on the bed sheet not just one but multiple, I then noticed a lot of pubes in my bed and the pillows were too hard to sleep🤢 overall I was uncomfortable and had to leave so I left at midnight took a taxi home hadnt even been there more than a few hours, disgusting I'm already a paranoid person when it comes to stay awaying from home but seeing blood and pubes on the bed sheets made this paranoia even worse🤢 If you're wanting somewhere to eat then the restaurant is perfect for you but if you wanna stay over in the rooms.... Good luck cause I won't be risking it

Very nice room, except for the lighting, lampshade on the main ceiling light was much too gloomy. Good to have such efficient heating. Excellent breakfast was very good value. Food in the evenings was very slow and average.

Haven’t been out for a family meal in a while & was looking forward to having a roast dinner today. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. The service was slow & long waits between ordering food/drinks. when our food finally arrived the food was cold & the beef was full of gristle also our side dish was forgotten about. I noticed that other tables were waiting a long time between orders also. Saying this the place is lovely they just need to sort the service & quality of meat.

Lovely Sunday roast fantastic service

Sunday lunch probably one of the worst ever. Insipid white "roast" potatoes, overcooked leather roast beef, reheated carrots and raw, not undercooked but raw, broccoli. With a guest, so I was too embarrassed to send it back. You'd get a better meal properly cooked at a Toby carvery. Tha staff were amazing though, other than the barman whom kept yawning.

It's a lovely looking pub in a nice location, but unfortunately the service was disjointed and the staff got our order wrong and seemed not happy about being asked to correct the mistake. The food was overcooked, pudding had items missing. We may have been on an off day, buy won't be going back.

Great place to eat, good food, good atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff. This is our local pub, and we are very lucky to have it nearby. Has vastly improved over recent months, used to be quite average, but the number of people eating there on most nights reflect how popular it has become.

We have visited this pub regularly and have always found the level of service superb and the food excellent and offering good value.

This was such a beautiful stay! We only stayed one night but we fell in love with it! The staff was so friendly, the service was exceptional, and the rooms were immaculate and beautiful! The only suggestions I would give is to put bottles of water in the rooms and tissues in the bathrooms. Otherwise the stay was one of our favs! Rain, one of the bar keeps, was so funny and friendly! We even went and said bye before we left. We would highly recommend this place and will stay again if we find ourselves in Hartfordshire. Thank you, Feathers Inn!!! (Tip: If you order food, go to the bar and order and they will bring it to your table)

We have stayed here several times over the years & have to say that the staff, food & room etc. have always been fine. Having spent 3 nights just recently - 21/10 - 24/10 we only had 1 night's (Sunday 22/10) undisturbed sleep. Saturday night was quite noisy - we think from a wedding party that seemed to talk outside in the wee small hours. Last night was also quite difficult for us as the person in the next room was very noisy & in the early hours ( we think) had the TV blaring out in his room on top of constantly going in and out of his room & at one stage appearing to be whistling for his friend. In short, probably the worst visit that we have had here & certainly will have second thoughts in future about booking again if we cannot enjoy a relaxing night's rest. We were in Room 29. Last time we visited we were in Room 5 which was a dream compared to this room's experience.

Eight of us had a lovely dinner here and the food was very good. The staff were lovely especially the manager who made time to talk to us. Would have given 5 stars but the drinks orders were slow. A wine order took almost 30 minutes. The young server did apologise but I think that glass of wine should have been complimentary. Also a small error with one order. But we will return and thoroughly recommend this place.

We were a large party of 12 for lunch. The venue was perfect and food and service excellent. Would definitely recommend this venue.

The whole experience was amazing. From start to finish couldn’t fault anything. Well done to Lewis and Callum. Excellent service. Food was delicious and well presented. Well done to the whole team will be telling friends and will be coming back for sure.
