Light lunch,great sauage sandwich with home made chutney . More restaurant than pub but lovely grounds and appealing menu.

Had a private function there and it was outstanding the staff the food the service was spot on would highly recommend

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Beehive. Roasts were delicious with good portions of meat and vegetables. Service was excellent. Pub is set in great surroundings which add to the overall experience. Highly recommend this charming pub.

Has Sunday lunch at the Beehive last weekend. It was fine, nice even but the Gravy was too thin and the Cauliflower Cheese didn't taste of much. Go to the 2 Brewers in Northaw instead.

Stopped for a pint on my travels. Although it looks quite rustic on the exterior, it is quite modern inside. Only serves 2 types of lagers on draught.

Nice Pub. Drinks order arrived promptly but food order was slow. The pie was lovely and the portions are huge. Everyone enjoyed their meal and staff were friendly.

First visit to the Beehive after having driven past it on a number of occasions. Went for a Saturday afternoon snack and a couple of drinks with my wife. Decided to sit outside as the weather was pleasant enough. There is no smoking or vaping outside either which is also a huge plus. Ordered a couple of sandwiches which were fresh and well filled. Service was timely and with a smile. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back soon!

Every place has its own ambience and that's not necessarily music or people but can be location, peace and tranquility. The Beehive has its own unique environment.

A bucket list place to eat due to hearing about it's reputation for serving fresh seafood. I initially ran there from home to see where it was, great route but on coming traffic meant I couldn't run back. This adventure and great scenery made me want to come back and try the food even more, had an awesome meal with just myself, views of green hills and sheep and my book. The fish platter is amazing and had rustic cherry pie and custard for desert (wait till you see the crimping). I'm coming back for the rest of the fish asap! Also hopefully the local jam stop just before it just need a more foot friendly route ❤️

Went with another couple on a Saturday night with our two dogs. Very nice food and good service in a friendly, warm and relaxed atmosphere.

Fantastic little pub. Great food. We had chicken burgers and fries which were incredibly filling. We also had the bree in breadcrumbs which was so naughty 😉. Really recommend this pub if your looking for a lovely calming and chilled atmosphere.

Very efficient staff and an excellent lunch in nice surroundings. We were a group of 6 and all enjoyed their meals and were impressed with the pub.

Nice pub easy parking. Menu is mainly fish. Lost a bit of it's atmosphere after recent renovations.

I would dine here again. The nut roast was fine, but kind of wet. The vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were decent. The chocolate brownie with ice cream was out of this world. The staff were nice, helpful and welcoming. The walls/ceiling could use some sound dampening to make it quieter, as the main dining area is a large square room without partitions etc.

Christmas catch up with my school friends. Very welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good selection of food. It was tasty and hot. Plentiful portions. We were not rushed off and enjoyed several hours of fun. I would thoroughly recommend this venue.

Food was good, but nothing out the ordinary, and a little more expensive than other pubs. Was quite surprised when we got the bill to find a 10% Service charge! There was just the two of us, and the Pub only had a few customers. I can understand when there is a large group and the pub is busy, but not couples on a quiet night. I know a few people who have remarked on this, and like ourselves probably won't return.

After staying local since the pandemic we heard the Beehive had been renovated and still retained it's excellent menu which includes several fish dishes, in particular skate wings. So paid a visit and we're very impressed. Well worth the journey.

Had the Ploughmans to share between 2. Plenty of food. Beautifully presented. Friendly and efficient service. Would like to come back again to try dinner.

We had not been to the Beehive for years. We were pleasently surprised how it has been modernised. The large outside seating areas looked very inviting too with beautiful flower pots and decking aswell as seating areas on the grass. The food was tasty, healthy and nicely presented and staff was very helpful with my husband as he needs a glutenfree diet. There were several options available. We intend to go there again to try out some other dishes.

Never turn your vehicle around in the car park you'll be met with abuse and threats to block you in if you don't leave. I suppose unless you're there to pay money they don't want you. absolutely horrible attitude i tried to be nice and polite All I was doing was turning my lorry around as i had no other space to do so.

Suggest you go here and I eat in restaurants 3 times a week. Great place 👌

Lovely, peaceful location, with good views. Episode of the Saint filmed outside scenes here. Sat outside and ate tasty lunch of burgers and chunky chips. Lovely flower displays around the front and side.

Our second visit to this pub and we thought it could not be as good as our first visit and we must have just been lucky but wow this meal exceeded our expectations. My husband eats fillet steak at most restaurant and it was the biggest and best piece he’s had in a long time. My sea bass was cooked to perfection and the whole dish was very light and fresh. The staff were very attentive and friendly and I can’t wait to go back.

A lovely hidden gem. I’m pescatarian so always excited to find new places to eat, and can truly say I was not disappointed. The service was great and asking for something else was not a problem. The seabass was cooked to perfection. Oooo and the seafood 🦞 platter was divine 😋…. Next time having the sharing platter for myself 🤩. Will definitely be back

First time back toThe Beehive since its refurbishment, we were pleasantly surprised at the difference it was nice and spacious and the food was still good the staff were attentive so what more do you need.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and ample parking. Some dishes were a little pricy and didn’t feel like good value for money (e.g Caesar salad), but the food quality was superb and we’ll definitely return.

We went on a Sunday so I could have a roast dinner. Was not disappointed, portions extremely generous with lots of different vegatables. Very good value for money highly recommend. The refurbishment is lovely as were the staff.

I came here with my friend for Sunday lunch and dessert today, and we had such a wonderful experience! It feels like most pubs are chains now and it’s hard to find somewhere that stands out, but this place is truly outstanding! The pub is in a lovely location, and it’s so cozy and warm inside and I mean in both decor and atmosphere. All the staff are so friendly, and not in like a “I work here and I have to be nice to customers” way but a genuine kindness and it’s very easy to spark a conversation. The roast was delicious, very fresh and tasty. I loved the selection of veg, the beef was incredibly tender and the gravy was perfect. The dessert was EXCEPTIONAL, I had the chocolate praline torte and it was on par with desserts I’ve had in fancy patisseries. It’s quite rare to find such a gem - hats off to the owners, the chefs and all the lovely staff for running such a great pub! Thank you all :)

I went here for the first time this evening. The man who seated us talked me through the menu advising me what was gluten free. He told me they could make a gluten free batter so nothing was really off the menu. The food was amazing, the portions are generous and by far the best gluten free batter I’ve ever had. Every member of staff we met were really friendly. It’s got a lovely feel about it, will definitely be going back again soon

Absolutely fantastic. Haven't been to the beehive in a few years, booked a table to have a catch up with friends since I moved away from the area. Booked a table for 7 of us and had my 9month old with us. Service was brilliant and the food was amazing. Everyone had a great time and it made catching up with friends that much better being in such a lovely venue.

Hadn't visited this restaurant /pub for a number of years but had heard a good report from friends. It has been completely refurbished and the staff were very welcoming. The menu was varied with their speciality being fish. All four in our party had the oven baked skate - it was delicious and a very generous portion for the price. We will definitely be returning. Their Sunday roasts get a good recommendation so I think that may be for our next visit. Hard to find a local pub that serves good food at reasonable prices and pleasant surroundings.

We had booked a table at the Beehive in Epping Green Hertford to follow a planned walk in the area. The restaurant is bright and modern with the interior somewhat contrasting to the exterior appearance of a traditional country pub but beautifully done all the same. The food was delicious and every plate looked gorgeous as it arrived at the table. The staff were friendly and accommodating and helpful.

Was really looking forward to coming after the big extension, renovation and redecoration. However, fell way below my expeditions. Decor is nice but unimaginative and plain, I liked the cosy pub feel before it was done up now it’s trying to be uber trendy modern in an old building which doesn’t work at all. The food we had chorizo wasn’t cooked in the pasta and I think the chef forgot to mash my mash with the haddock! Would’ve said, but not one of the staff asked us how our food was at any point so just saw ourselves out politely. Such ashame

I've driven past this pub many times over the years but never gone into the pub until now. It was never a reason in the past why I never visited the pub but I'm glad I now had the opportunity to do so. The first thing is the pubs location is a little off the beaten track. The pub is in a good setting with plenty of seating space both at the front and rear gardens with good car parking which is always a bonus. Upon meeting the staff for the first time I was very happy and greeted with smiles and pleasantries of a warm welcome. The food menu offers a good range both hot and cold and non meat options. The pob also offers a good selection of beers. Food may be a little pricey however I did eat at the pub at the time of my visit and my choice was very well presented on the plate and very enjoyable. In my opinion I think the pub is an all round pub for all ages including families.

Second recent visit, this time with good friends, one of whom loves fish. Unfortunately the Sea Bass, which seeing the menu, she chose, was off the menu. Nevertheless, the restaurant and the work they have had done, since my using this many years ago ..as a straight pub..pre 'blow in the bag days'..yes that long ago..is impressive..bar is very small these days, but outside dining area is first class, well kept and impressive, with ample parking. Food was excellent and a class above normal pub food..keep the chef, for pit!y's sake. We dined on a Tuesday, so not very busy, but a good evening in a very nice place. Staff are young and friendly, but efficient..a couple of billing errors my wife noticed and were corrected..unfortunate, but a genuine mistake I feel. Only comment from our new guests and my wife..her first time to dine here, was that whilst clean and very tastefully decorated, the Restaurant area was a little 'cold'..not heat wise. Tables are well spread out and maybe that's the reason. Good place to frequent however and good value for the quality of the food and presentation. Well Done!

Went here for lunch today. All four of us had different meals and all of us were blown away by the quality and taste of our meals. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

As far as restaurants/pubs go, it's got everything you might want. Good selection of beers as well as good quality food, my only slight problem is the menu is not very big nor varied but what is served is very good.

Been a long time but still as good Lovely meal

First visit and I just called in for a snack and was impressed with the crab and prawn dish I had. A quick look at the menu showed lost of fish dishes which pleased me but I think perhaps for meat eaters there should be something between burgers and a full steak. Something lighter, perhaps chicken with veg or rice say. I used the toilet for the disabled and it is a large space, more than adequate for a wheelchair and even a helper. On criticism though - the mirror is set low for wheelchair users and is no use to anyone standing. Not all disabled persons need a chair.

my first visit here in about 30 years. The outside front of the pub is still very pretty and boy did i get a shock inside. The owner here has made a very good investment and the interior is modern but retaining the charm of the pub. We were here for drinks but ended up eating as well. Food was excellent and we did not have to wait ages for the food. Freshly prepared and very tasty. We sat in the front bar area although past the bar is more restaurant orientated. Good friendly staff and good value for money.

5 of us had lunch on Saturday and all the food is always spot on. This pub specialises in fish and best dish on the menu is Scallops, they are cooked to perfection.

First time I’ve been in years! What a pleasant surprise! Beautifully modern inside! Same pub but better. My friend and I really enjoyed our meals. Well presented, tasted amazing, my steak was cooked to perfection. My friend had the baked skate and she says it was beautiful. Lovely friendly staff. Had a quick chat with the owner which was nice. My one criticism is maybe have more tables? Will definitely be coming back.

We had a really bad roast here this Sunday, none of us even got half way through it, additionally the staff were really surly and the recent renovation has removed the soul from this once lovely place.
