We had a pleasant lunch with friends and couldn't fault the service, food or menu choice.

Went for quiz, didn't realise I was so thick. Food was good too.

This is a popular pub….we came for a roast, it was like a school dinner - a very over priced school dinner with thin meat slices so, you know, not awful but I’d hope to serve better at home (presentation and flavour). The main flavour was the gravy and the mint sauce. I think you could turn up in your pjs and no one would bat an eye lid. Staff are very nice and quick.

Went for the mixed meat option and was charged an extra £2 on top of their most expensive roast and received nothing extra. The chicken, pork and potatoes were all given to the dog and we have walked out hungry. £26pp for an awful roast and one drink! Complaints dealt with, with an ‘oh right’ nothing else. Do not recommend.

REALLY GOOD SERVICE AND THE BEST SIZZLING STIR FRY IN MAIDSTONE. GREAT ATMOSPHERE HIGHLY RECOMMEND. A VERY GOOD VARIED MENU TO CATER FOR ALL TASTES.

Went for a quick family meal on a Sunday afternoon, phoned to check availability, ordered food, service was quick, food great and patio was good. Will defo return.

The place is huge with indoor and outdoor tables and service. The food was amazing and the staff was so kind and friendly. There is plenty of garden area, it's really large. There's a playground so that you can take your kids and have a meal, a beer, and let them play while you enjoy the place. There's also some events there such as bingo and karaoke. The only negative point is the toilets, they're a bit neglected (old). The area where this place is located is so peaceful too. Worth the visit!

We booked a table for 7 at the last minute, 6xhumans and 1xsmall dog, for Sunday lunch. Nice and friendly staff, a good selection of Sunday lunch dishes including pescatarian and vegetarian options as well as starters and desserts. The portion size are always very good for the main course and it was all served with a smile and fairly quickly. Good quality food at a sensible price and lots of choices, just what you want from a pub 🍻

It is a lovely pub, good food and kids play area. On this occasion I didn't actually go in the pub but I was posting a parcel at the Inpost lockers at the rear of the pub, which are very handy indeed and I use them a lot!

Delicious lunch for 3. The smoked chicken, bacon and pomegranate salad, fish and chips and liver and bacon went down a treat. The staff and customers were all very friendly. What a lovely pub. Thanks.

Food was delicious! The sizzlers are to die for. The flavour was amazing. My husband had the steak and kidney pudding and as someone hard to please he enjoyed every bit. Compliments to the chef! The staff are very efficient and nothing was too much trouble.

Went in for a birthday meal and was a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was great

My first visit to this restaurant. I met with a friend. Will definitely return here.

The pub is advertised as a venue for group events. But in fact there is no separate room, just a corner of the pub is sectioned off for the party. Were had booked for a memorial with a buffet lunch. So trying to give an eulogy and/or speech above other clients' conversations and bar activity was near impossible. However we were made welcome, the staff was accommodating and food was very good.

We arrived for lunch to be greeted to a lovely smiling welcome from Jess. The food was amazing and the service from Jess who could not do enough for us was first class. What a "Fantastic Pub" Well done the Redstart Inn.

Had Christmas party here and was the first time I have been there. Nice place and food was good.

We had a large family get together there. They did a very good buffet and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The staff were excellent. Certainly a place to visit and there main meals are very good too.

Lovely lunch with friends. Only had baguette, but tasty and reasonably priced all the same. Nice welcoming pub and restaurant with a cosy log fire. Large outdoor space. Would definitely go back for an evening meal. Not a massive parking area so could be problems parking on a busy day as located on a housing estate

I was visiting my brother and niece and we sat out in the garden the food was lovely and it was serves with a smile I don't know how much the meal was as my brother paid for it

Great location...we were very well looked after.

Obviously a very popular venue. It was our first visit and what an excellent choice. The staff were both friendly and efficient. Our meal arrived promptly and was beautifully presented. We both chose a Sunday roast - lamb with freshly cooked roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and lashings of fresh vegetables. Would recommend highly.

First visit to The Redstart and it definitely won't be the last. Food really good ( especially the Sizzlers ). Staff were brilliant and nothing was to much trouble. Very few places would give you such a warm welcome . One of the best pub meals I've experienced. Good sized portions and an extensive menu. Highly recommend.

Took my parents today for late lunch which was fabulous! Food and service was amazing and young lady even took our drinks orders from the table and brought over to us. One of the reasons we visited was that my mum and dad used to come here every Saturday in the 70s for drinks and sometimes dancing. Just a great experience and will definitely be visiting again, thank you The Redstart!

Sunday lunch was lovely 😍. Pork loin was great, cod was also good 👍. I had steak &kidney pudding home made suet pastry plenty of filling. Dessert was also lovely 😍.will be back again soon

It's always a pleasure to drink & eat here. Food never disappoints. Whitebait delicious starter, prawn or steak sizzler hot plate a favourite. Great fish & and chips, too. Friendly staff. Would recommend 👌 Car park often fills up quickly

Came here for fathers day meal. The food and portion size was really good, and the staff were lovely. Only drop in stars is I would like to see better food for younger children perhaps. Although the play area is good for them.

Parking on arrival was appropriate to Park our larger disabled vehicle. A disabled access ramp is available for wheelchair friendly access. The whole garden is wheelchair friendly which is always a welcome bonus. There is a children's play area in the corner so you can still enjoy a cold refreshing drink here if you have little ones to keep an eye on while they play. Inside this venue was clean and bright and friendly service with smiles so felt welcome as a first time person popping in to this public house. Staff were presentable in uniform and nothing seemed too much trouble. We enjoyed a few hours here although we didn't have a meal, we would certainly consider eating here on our next visit.

Great food, great staff, good beer, all at a reasonable price. What more can you ask for?

We have visited every few months for the past year and the Redstart is always excellent. Lovely staff and management. Great food and accommodating of food intolerances. The Sizzlers are fantastic.

Good standard pub food and friendly staff can be a bit noisy when busy.

Pleasant servers and decent food which was reasonably priced. Nice punt of Harvey's best. A very quiet Monday lunch so atmosphere was lacking but am sure it would be better with more people around.

This place is great for lunch the food is always cooked well and there is a good variety on the menu and well priced. We had the burger and the chicken sizzler with noodles. Really tasty, will be going back again. We did book as it does get busy especially at the weekends, during the summer they have a big garden that you can sit out in. Lovely place worth a visit.

It busy in a nice way for a Saturday evening. The Harvey's Sussex best was very moreish and whilst they were catering for two parties at once we had good service at the bar. A welcoming friendly pub that I'll go back to.

Had the most lovely roast today. .... The best I've had in such a long time actually. The ladies are so friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to finding an excuse to come for another. 🤭

We had a birthday to celabrate so I invited my son and his girlfriend to join us. As before the food was fantastic and most enjoyable. The only thing I was concerned about was we were sat near the for near the Gents loo and outside and although the door had a self closure on it it was left open by customers and I had to keep popping up to close it when the men went win and out to the loo as this caused my food to get cold. Otherwise all good.

Lovely little hidden gem . I took my team of 16 here on a Friday night and thought it was fairly priced. The staff were great too , very patient and accommodating with our group . Lovely Garden and park for kids so great for summer nights drink but also well decorated and maintained bar area for a cosy drink. I'm sure a return will be on the cards at some point . Thanks for a great night .

This is a traditional pub in a residential street that boasts a chandelier. Its car park is not large but on the plus side there is a beer garden at the back. There is also dining space inside. The staff when I visited were all female and they provided a very polite, but not unfriendly, efficient and welcoming service. I only looked at the snack menu and had a jacket potato with cheese which came with a mixed salad on the side and was neatly presented. Other snacks such sandwiches were also available. My coffee was made at an espresso machine (good) and came with a mint chocolate disc. Overall, I'd say this is a hospitable pub.

Great pub, car parking but a bit limited, although there are residential streets. Good menu and range of food, with additional lunchtime menu, although needs to change occasionally to provide fresh offerings. Seating inside and out, large garden with play area for children.

Lovely walk to The Redstart for Sunday lunch. Based on reviews it was worth going along for the first time. Food was very good. We had the traditional roast beef & roast pork. Cooked very well and you would expect. Staff polite and a pleasant atmosphere. Would recommend. 4/5.

The Redstart inn listened to my concerns about my wife’s food allergy and offered a modified menu option. We went as a group of 5 and enjoyed a delicious meal for every dish. Great pub with excellent customer service.

Great food....time for new ovens? The wife and I went for a 1:30 Sunday lunch, it was busy and noisy, or you might say vibrant, depending on your point of view. The staff were attentive, the food was hot, well presented and tasty (if a little over seasoned) , the cost was mid-range. The downside on this occasion, was that I found a sizable chunk of metal and plastic in my food. Luckily I saw it before trying to eat it! Or it could have been an expensive and painful trip to the dentist or A&E. Accidents happen, we've eaten there before, and probably will eat there again, probably...maybe. Upon showing the waitress the intruding metalwork on the plate, she was nonchalantly apologetic and took the plate and offending article away to show her colleagues. She came back a minute later and said a colleague said it probably came from the oven. She offered free desserts as an apology. In hindsight, I think this was a disappointingly poor apology given what COULD have happened; but at the time we were so shocked we didn't really push-back. As their own staff think the lump of metal and plastic came from their oven, perhaps an inspector needs to pay the kitchen a visit to see if their equipment is fit for purpose!

Great local pub with tasty food. Ideal for couples, families and dog friendly. Plenty of outside seating space including a children's play area.

Lovely food and very friendly staff

I decided to book a lunch out with my partner ahead of a lunch meeting due in April. I had, had good reports from colleagues about this Gastro Pub but wanted to check things out for myself. I was blown away by the place and for a Monday at Lunchtime was busy - we booked at 12 and the place is a very pleasant place indeed. Very welcoming - on the website it states bar snacks only - but all the menu was on offer ! The food was very hot and portions very large for me ( I only eat a small portion) I had to leave some of my mash potato ! the staff we're welcoming and inviting and the wait time was very reasonable indeed. There was a large party as the lunch time progressed. The Menu is amazing and lots of choice to choose from. Well recommended and I will return for work and play!
