The Yeoman in Maidstone

We took my mum to Yeoman for a belated birthday lunch. Vini the Manager made us feel so welcome as soon as we entered the restaurant. Our order was taken by Kelly. She was lovely and friendly and so polite. The food was exquisite!!!. Beautifully presented, and so delicious. We were so looked after. The best meal we have had out in a very long time. Such a varied menu. We will be going back again and again. Thank you Vini and Kelly for making us feel so welcome. If we could give you 20 stars we would. Natalie, Craig and Georgia. Xx♥️💗❤️

We had the wrap and stuffed rice. Both are very flavoursome and of generous serving. Pleasant service too. Bill adds 10% tip so read the bill before/if tipping more.

We booked for lunch but as the restaurant was empty when arriving we were a bit wary as to whether to stay. So glad we did. The food was lovely and good sized portions. We had chicken liver and squid for starters. Both were lovely and the squid was so tender. We then had lamb kleftiko and mixed meze. Again it was lovely. Compliments to the chef. We will be returning.

We have been here numerous times before and decided to go on the last night of our holidays to end on a high. Firstly they brought me the wrong meal so my husband was halfway through his food by the time time I got mine. They took my fork away with the first meal so I had to get one from another table. Then I had to ask for a dish for my muscle shells. Then they took my napkin before my desert so I got another from the next table. All this I can accept as things do go wrong but when I got home and looked at the bill I found I had been charged £6 service charge without it ever being mentioned. This made me really angry as we didn't receive an adequate service which we ended up paying for.

Absolutely delicious! A must go. We were staying down the road in the Marriott, and this pub is only 2 mins from the hotel. We had the Greek cuisine on the menu and it took us right back to our holidays there. Delicious and very generous portions. I asked to change my salad for grilled veg and it was no problem. Would visit again. Thankyou

The food was excellent, the price was reasonable and the staff very friendly. We arrived early and was welcomed in, after sitting at the table we ordered drinks and starters and a Pizza for out 9 year old and they all arrived perfectly on time. It was Father’s Day so even very busy we didn’t have to wait to long for our food in fact having a 10min break between course was very welcome.

We were at the nearby Leeds Castle and wanted lunch. The food outlets/cafe at Leeds Castle are really awful and much like the rubbish you get at theme parks. It's poor quality and very expensive. We Googled local restaurants and The Yeoman had good reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the prices reasonable and thew service and friendliness top notch. Highly recommended.

Great pub for food and drink, Pizza is amazing! Vinny the owner is an absolute gent and all the staff are great.

I have been here a couple of times, the staff are always lovely, food is nice (with good portions). Lovely beer garden for those summer days. Definitely recommend

Attended 40th birthday party with pizzas as party food ( really good)

We ate in the bar area because we had our dog with us, it didn't seem very promising actually. But the food was very tasty and the staff was super friendly.

Had Lamb Kleftico which took me back to the last one I had 20 years ago in a village in Cyprus. Just as good, very authentic.

Great little pub good selection of dishes,with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, would highly recommend 👍

Freshly cooked food staff are amazing never had a bad meal and they do fabulous pizzas delivered to your door in the local area, all freshly cooked

Great food fantastic service and staff

Really lovely dinner out with my partner and young daughter for our anniversary. Was a Saturday night and not overly busy ‘which is a sign of the times I suppose’ but was really pleased with the food, cocktails and service. We live locally and visited on and off in the early days when the pub was taken over and whilst the food was good it was clear they were still finding their feet. Not intentional but had not been for just over a year or so and I have to say these guys have really honed their trade now! The menu now has a great range of fair and everything that came out the kitchen looked good. We treated ourselves to afew tapas starters and then the fillet steak for main whilst my daughter had a pizza. Was top notch, well cooked, well presented and good portion size. Service was prompt and the girls doing the service were good also. Eating out isn’t as cheap as it was but that’s the same across the board but when I do go out I want to feel I get my money’s worth and I certainly felt that here. Won’t leave it so long till are next visit this time. Lovely to have on our doorstep 😃

Very disappointing. The table wasn't really set properly for an evening meal, we didn't have a starter, went straight to the main course, I ordered Greek moussaka, my husband ordered Beef Stifado. My moussaka was served in a small enamel pie dish, it was overcooked and dry, the top layer was, in places, too hard to cut through, and the enamel dish was too small to cut the moussaka into portions. The accompanying salad was very large, most of which was wasted. Due to the way it was served I found the moussaka difficult to eat. The Beef Stifado was OK, tasty, but too much for my husband.. We had Baklava for dessert, very tasty, very sweet but again very large, served on quite a small plate. We wont be visiting The Yeoman again.

I am surprised that this pub/ restaurant is not packed out as it is reasonable and exceptionally clean the service is friendly and the food exquisite. I have been twice now and still feel comfortable.

We went there after doing the lights trail at Leeds Castle. We were seated very quickly after arriving even though we didn't have a booking. The service was generally good but we had to wave a few times to get our water jug replenished. The food portions were good and all the dishes were tasty. My son had the scallops as a starter. I thought they could have used a little more colour. I wanted the seabream but unfortunately they had run out so went for the prawns instead as a main. Very tasty 😋. My son had the fish stew main which was given the thumbs up. It was served with flat breads, which though lovely, I would personally prefer a more crusty bread. My other half had the moussaka, which he enjoyed. He had it with the side salad. For dessert my son tried the baklava. Too sweet for me, but a generous portion. My one disappointment with this place is the kids menu. It has 3 items only, all meat based. It's £10 but doesn't include a drink or dessert like a lot of kids menus tend to so if your kid is vegetarian or doesn't like bolognaise or Chicken skewers then I'm not sure what your options are. My daughter had the skewers. She loved the chips but as the skewers have a lemon based marinade she wasn't so thrilled about that and didn't finish them. It wasn't a cheap evening but the food was tasty and the portions sufficient, however I would consider a venue with more to offer for kids.

We visited the Yeoman for our family Xmas meal and were welcomed by polite and helpful staff; especially as a couple of times we’d changed the number of people who were on our table. There was plenty of choice on the menu, and the food we had was very good. If I was to be critical, it’s a shame that although warned, the pizza that my friend ordered didn’t arrive until we’d all practically finished our main course. Also, although a good atmosphere, next time I might ask for a table in the conservatory as hopefully it wouldn’t be quite so noisy. It might have had something to do with the table next to us though. Overall very good and can certainly recommend.

Wonderful lunch with family for birthday celebrations. Food excellent good portion and value. Good service.

A lovely place for a Christmas party with food and disco

The Yeoman is a fantastic, authentic Greek restaurant with great service, delicious food, and generous portions. It is more expensive than most restaurants in the area, but in my opinion, it is worth it. The food is phenomenal, and I've never left feeling hungry or disappointed with the service.

Fantastic place. The food is incredible and the staff are brilliant. We have eaten here a few times and we often get takeaway pizza, but most recently held an event at the Yeoman and it was excellent, we were so impressed. Highly recommend it!!

Absolute delight. I echo all the nice things people have said. Price wise it's pretty competitive even with a service charge which wasn't there. Really good food in maidstone nice service from start to finish the seafood Platter is amazing my boys sang happy birthday when it was placed in front of me, funny being it's not my birthday but the plate had to commemorate something amazing being it was outstanding. Prices have gone up slightly given our over inflated economy but quality is still impressive value for money wise. But I still didn't mind picking up the bill for 4 averaged out at £30 per head.

We've been dining at the Yeoman quite often now for about three years, and it is still as good - maybe better - than it was. The food is delicious, well presented and reliable, and the menu choices are good. Good wine list too. Service is also very good. We are lucky to Mediterranean food on our doorstep!

We visited as four friends for an evening business meeting. Booked based on the reviews and we were not disappointed! Hard to decide what to eat as so much choice on the menu! Everything we had was delicious and very generous portions. We will definitely be visiting again!

Beautiful pub.. lovely service and the most important nice food…. This pub is one of the nicest pubs left in the area…. The type of food is Mediterranean….. if you love sea food this is the place…. Pizza is just perfect like authentic Italian recipe…… service was impeccable they have outdoors and indoors seating…. They have parking and a beer garden. …Highly recommend this place.

The pair of us just had lunch. A very warm welcome from the hosts. I had the fried squid as a starter and my wife had the chicken livers. I couldn’t believe the the generous portion sizes and the flavour of both were amazing. For mains I had the Beef Stifado and my wife had creamy Tuscan chicken penne. All I can say is that the food is freshly cooked and the taste was unbelievable. We were too full to sample their homemade desserts which is a shame. This was our first time at The Yeoman but now we will definitely be regulars.

Loved their fish skewer, perfectly cooked, with tasty griddled chunky veg- so good. Chips had a lovely seasoning and decent portion and side salad really good. Brilliant service. Highly recommend

I would give it 10 stars or a Michelin star if i could. The food is that good. EVERYTHING tastes amazing. We had the chicken livers, prawns and scallops to start, which were well seasoned and beautifully presented. The scallops were garnished with samphire and pistachio nuts, which was a surprisingly amazing touch and added so much flavour. The best scallops I've ever tasted. For Mains, we both enjoyed the cod...on a bed of well-seasoned mash and lobster sauce. Again, it was beautifully presented and tasted out of this world. The service was IMPECCABLE. We had a new starter waitress, who was on her first evening, and she was so attentive and friendly. The manager is amazing too. He beams pride in his restaurant and is so friendly and welcoming. All the staff just seem to enjoy their jobs and were all just as accommodating. This is now my absolute favourite restaurant. They're going to get sick of seeing my face, I'm going to be there so often!!

This restaurant has very tasty meat. Those who love, definitely worth a try.

Die Speisekarte ist recht gross mit sehr vernünftigen Preisen. Ich war positiv überrascht als ich sah, dass das Restaurant auch eine Pizza Menükarte hat. 2. July 2023 : Heute waren wir noch einmal in Yeoman zum Nachsessen, um wir konnten feststellen, dass das Guten Essen noch besser geworden ist!!!

This pub is a discrimination to Bearsted. For 2 double captain morgans and cokes they charged me £18. The food was awful and I will never come here again.

Delicious food, inspired wine list, and good service. The menu has plenty of choice. We've eaten at the Yeoman a lot over the last few years, on our own, and with guests, and have always enjoyed our meal very much, whether they are quiet or extremely busy.

Last minute booking after long day at work. Good range of Food section and a generous portion. Food was delicious cooked well full of flavour. To top it all the price was reasonable and staff were friendly attentive and generally happy to serve us. If you haven’t tried it here please do u won’t be disappointed!!!

First visited when Dirty Habit burnt down and been back ten times since. Staff so friendly and efficient especially proprietor. Food quite delicious and varied and best of all dogs welcome

The Yeoman used to be a seedy pub with Saturday night drunks and fights. Glad to see that´s gone, because now, the Mediterranean restaurant is fantastic. There were 8 of us for lunch. We had a good selection of mezze, followed by generous main courses: mixed kebabs, pasta, moussaka, salmon and grilled sea bass. Although they only have Harvey´s bitter as their Real Ale, it was very well kept and delicious. Good value for money, and the food well prepared by the Greek, Italian, Hungarian and Rumanian kitchen brigade! Service was excellent and the staff were really friendly and helpful. My only reservation was that the Mediterranean salmon and mashed potatoes had too much mash and perhaps not enough salmon.

Felt ripped off. Portions were large but we felt it was quantity over quality. Wouldn’t return. Atmosphere also spoiled by some drunk builders wearing high vis clothing at the bar.

Love that is home made and fresh! Huge portions and friendly staff Had aubergine to start, fish to follow on couscous and homemade tiramisu!! They have a new menu the only difficulty is what to pick it’s all amazing!

Delicious hot and tasty food! Just ordered takeaway which arrived in great time. The feta sticks are my favourite item in the menu and the the creamy Tuscan Chicken penne was so delicious. Highly recommended.

Excellent food! We had starters, mains and dessert and everything surpassed our expectations. Will definately be visiting more frequently. The chicken livers starter is a 'must try'. They are amazing!

When we originally set off to the beach, we changed our plans due to traffic and having had a recommendation about The Yeoman, we popped in. Nice surprise good authentic mediterraenean style menu. Cheerful staff and good value.

The service was reasonable, the food average. The pork chops on the mezze plate were fatty and grisly, two of the deserts of the panna cotta were hard set with no taste of passion fruit and could not be eaten. My biggest complaint though was the service charge of £14.06. I have since looked at the menu online and can find no mention of a service charge. It is against the law to charge a service charge unless informed of the charge beforehand. This is daylight robbery. I think the food is overrated, overpriced and very average. Visited on 21/05/2022

We are new to the area and have just eaten our first meal in The Yeoman and was not disappointed. Staff very friendly, service excellent and food delicious. We will be returning very soon.

I wanted to love this place, but the service was terrible... over an hour wait between starters and mains, with no apology offered. The food was average at best. Really disappointed considering the number of good reviews.

Just reduced rating to 3 after latest visit. Service used to be quite good here but tonight it was very inattentive leading to a long night waiting. Food is still lovely, though the kitchen was v slow today so there was a group of 4 staff just standing around most of the evening, on phones, chatting. No offers of drinks when we ran out; no explanation of the long wait for food; in the end we gave up on being offered dessert and just got the bill (eventually).

Tentively approached, as it looked closed, and if driving past, you might have thought the same. Please dont, it is so worth a visit.!!!! We received a lovely warm welcome on a nice sunny Easter Sunday and chose assorted starters from a refreshing menu, which we thoroughly enjoyed in the rear garden with our drinks. The food is fresh, a tingle on the tastebuds, and good value.......a rare trio these days !!!!! Bearsted you have a gem of a pub/ restaurant.

Lovely place, food great ... only thing that let's it down is too many waiting staff to each table and after paying the bill one of the waitresses presumed our change was her tip!!! So I asked for the change back, had she bought it back to the table I'd glady left the tip on the table for her but she dipped out there!!!

Really warm and family environment. I ordered chicken liver and grilled octopus, the chicken liver is so flavorful and the texture is perfect. The octopus is cooked perfectly, I think it could use a little bit more flavor, but it is still much better than a lot of other places and with better price. I will be back and try more of their dishes!

Just average. Service understaffed and slow. Food OK but not better. Needs to get its act together as menu is good and so is beer. Just let down by details

This place has always been good, however the last few weeks the experience has been exceptional. The service and welcoming are second to none. I would highly recommend the “special” on the menu but if you’re just having a drink then that’s great as well...

We visited yesterday for a family celebration. The food was amazing & fantastic service. We will def return. Great varied menu. My son had a seafood platter he said it tasted lovely.

Liked the Lion of Kent layout but not the clientele and food and now it's reversed. Don't like the look of The Yeoman pub but the beer and staff are good, although they had no crisps?! What is a pub without crisps?!

The food was amazing. I will be going through their seafood menu in the future. Pulpo (octapus) delights perfectly cooked, fish correctly presented. The kids menu chicken was real, a parents choice. A serious pat yourselves on the head establishment.

Food excellent staff very helpful great atmosphere. Only slight concern check your bill make sure you don't pay for the service charge twice didn't realise its on the bill anyway. 🙂

The welcome and the food at The Yeoman was absolutely fantastic. Lovey, friendly staff with food that was some of the best I have had for ages. The only slight critique is that the service was quite slow in terms of taking orders and waiting...

Greeted warmly. The food was excellent - Greek salad, calamari, broccoli and potato soup, fillet steak, octopus, sea bass and baked salmon - all excellent. Really friendly young staff. Not over-priced, huge portions. Would recommend and will go again when next in Bearsted.

Very lovely custom made veg platter, lovely team, nice indoor set up. Good thing is i didn't feel heavy after eating like other restaurant's food. Thanks Adrian and the team!
