The Roos Arms is a traditional village pub. There is a good range of beers, lager and cider, including 2 hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales. The cask ale was excellent when I called in. There is a nice bar and room next to it with a pool table. Up some steps at the front, there is another room mainly for meals, which are served Thursday to Sunday. There is covered outside seating and a beer garden. A nice welcoming pub, also dog friendly.

We visited the Roos Arms for the first time as a party of three for Friday evening at 18:30. We had made a reservation in advance. When we arrived the car park and pub were full to bursting and we had to find parking on the road. The pub was noisy with music and chatter, a pleasant surprise compared to some pubs which are often empty and lacking atmosphere. Despite making a reservation it wasn't checked. We were a party of three but two of us arrived before the other and we were taken to a table for two. After explaining we were expecting another party, we were shown to a table in the back room which had to be laid for us. The waitress explained it was unexpectedly busier than usual which probably explains the quite slow service. Staff were very polite and helpful when you saw one. The menu is basic. Don't go expecting a big choice because there isn't one. Having said that, what we ordered was good, the starters being better than the mains. The majority of the main courses were fried. Towards the end of our evening the crowds had dispersed and we got talking to Caroline, the landlady. Who apologised for putting us in the back room. That hadn't been an issue at all though. We finished our meal sitting in the main pub area, with coffee by the fire. The pub is on several levels with steps to each. If you have mobility problems this could be an issue. I walk with a stick and did struggle. We all had one soft drink, a starter, main and coffee and paid £28 each.

Nice pub, very welcoming with a limited delicious menu. We visited with the dog, who was welcomed with fuss, water and biscuits. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Minor points - Daughter’s schnitzel had a piece of plastic in it. Wife asked for king prawns to be added to her dish, they were quite small. Garlic bread needed a bit more oompf and some herbs.

Came here on Saturday 4th of September whilst we were on a family break, 2 adults and 2 kids. I found the pub on a random Google search so didn't know what to expect but the fact they had a small and fresh sounding menu meant we had to give it a try and we are glad we did. We rang and booked as we always do and on arrival we had a very warm welcome. The kids were offered games immediately so they was occupied for a while. The special was a braised beef ragu with homemade tagliatelle so me and my partner shared this as a starter along with a homemade bread board and delicious hummus. They was both very delicious and met our espectations. We also had a bottle of very delicious wine and I was happy to see beer from Camden brewery on tap. The kids had mac and cheese and chicken strips which were all clearly homemade and done properly. For mains we had a venison burger which was one of the best we've ever had. Our other main was a smoked garlic kiev with wild mushroom fricassee and pomme puree which again was all homemade, the flavours were very good but the 1 downside to it was it was quite a dry dish and we would have liked just a small amount of just with it or some sort of sauce (this is not a complaint just our personal opinion?) the staff were excellent and service was great, all in all we had a fantastic meal all in for just under £100, well worth every penny and we will return if we ever come back up this end. Big thankyou to you guys and big respect. We would have liked to see a nice fish dish on the menu but again its no complaint its just what we like. Thanks again for your great service and great food. Eating out is our hobby and it was really nice to find somewhere doing it properly.

Side options are limited with chips or mash and mushy or garden peas but we both enjoyed our meals. We’ve also done the Sunday lunch a couple of times now and again all the food is fresh tasting and the choice of meats tender.Pricing is reasonable and the pub has a good selection of beers and lagers available.

I came across this lovely pub on Google maps. My sister and family were up from London and visiting sand le mere. As the club and clubhouse were really busy she wasn't keen on dining and drinking there that night. I was joining her from Hull for the evening so decided to look for alternatives. After a quick Google search this pub popped up and looked ideal. After a quick phone call to see if they had room under the current restrictions we managed to get a table. After a quick drive we were greeted by a lovely lady who took us to our seat and got our details and drink orders. We felt comfortable as soon as we walked it. The pub was tidy, well presented and very clean. The food looked great and ordered some home cooked chips. Yet again they were very tasty. I look forward to visiting again in the future for a full meal next time. Thankyou for making us feel welcome.
