White Swan in East Riding of Yorkshire

We have stayed at Yellowtop Country Park for the last 7 years & never really found a nice place to eat out, until we came across The White Swan a few days ago. We stayed for a drink & lunch & was really impressed.. Such a lovely clean pub with really friendly staff so we decided to go back for dinner. We are a family of 7 and the food was absolutely beautiful. Home cooked and plentiful. Hot, arrived altogether we just couldn't fault it. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend this pub to anyone and will be our regular when visiting Yellowtop again. Many Thanks for the brilliant food & service 👍

Really good food and warm, friendly and efficient service. Brought our mother here for mother's day and although it was busy the service was excellent and the food very good. Huge selection of dishes but they all tasted home cooked rather than reheated frozen meals.

Neck Oil on draft is always good. The food I wanted wasn't available and had to choose an alternative. I found this place place quite expensive.

Claire the long term landlady of the White swan greeted us and was friendly and helpful with the extensive menu on offer. Our meal was excellent, both with quantity and quality, even though it was busy with a large party our food arrived promptly, look forward to our return to try other things off the menu.

We have been visiting Yellowtop for many years but only came across this perfect place this time round, and my goodness what a find. Fabulous choice on the menu and struggled to decide, however the steak pie was the best I have ever eaten, packed with perfectly cooked meat and an enormous portion, the chips were to die for and the veg so crisp and fresh. The restaurant was so snug and cosy and the staff were delightful. The only disappointment is that we didn’t find this place sooner. If you are looking for a hearty meal in a lovely pub restaurant with cheerful, helpful, friendly staff then this is a must. We will definitely be back in the summer.

Booked a table for 4 of us for my husband birthday . The night was perfect from start to finish . On arrival, table was set up for birthday . Meal absolutely perfect . Then at the end they sang happy birthday to my husband and gave him a cake which it was such a nice touch. Then we even had a little gift from the house . Absolute made my husband night so thank you !!the staff brilliant 🤩 Definitely recommend the white swan to anyone !!

I had the four course Christmas lunch and it was amazing. Service was excellent, soup and main meal well presented and were hot and cooked to perfection, had the cheese cake for sweet which was delicious and nicely presented. The only thing I would change was the 4th course as the mince pies were served cold it would have nice to have them warm as they are so much nicer when having a hot coffee whilst eating them . I would definitely recommend.

First time we have visited following good recommendations. Menu very extensive and food very nice, hot and plentiful. Service attentive and all staff extremely friendly and kind. Lovely touch at the end of the night with a gift of a bottle of Prosecco and piece of cheesecake to mark my birthday. We will visit again and recommend to others. Thank you.

Lovely two course meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed

Second time visit for family birthday. Excellent pub meal. Pushed out the boat for fillet steak - very good. Pepper sauce brilliant (if you like it strong). My wife had lamb shank which was also excellent. There was a pub quiz on at the time which we had feared would be intrusive to us but wasn’t at all. It made the atmosphere as the pub was nearly full. Interesting to hear the questions without the pressure of answering! As we left my son (whose birthday it was) was given a bottle of wine. I can highly recommend the White Swan for excellent food and atmosphere.

Me and the wife decided to go here for some food recently as we live in Hemingbrough and thought we'd give it a try. We arrived when it opened so we were the first people in and were greeted and told we could sit wherever we liked. After sitting down the bar man asked us what we would like to drink and said he would bring it over and put it on a tab for us, we then ordered some food and there was far to much for the 2 of us, the nacho sharer to start was like a main meal and we were far to full of delicious food to finish our mains! To sum up the food was amazing with an enormous selection and the service was lovely as well, we will definitely be coming back here to sample the rest of the menu soon.

We found this beautiful place by chance and what a fantastic time we had , diner was phenomenal, recommend the scotch egg as it was out of this world, the mains were exceptional and unfortunately to full for a dessert, the staff were all kind helpful and friendly.. the atmosphere was lovely, the ambiance and lighting all made the evening The outside area was beautifully lit and had that feeling of relaxation and tranquility We stayed over and the room was fantastic, well equipped and comfortable…. Very varied menu, homemade feel, large portions, friendly staff

40 years ago I started my adult life in the Swan. Listening to a yarn or 2 over the next few years. I recall the gone by Country and Western nights. Even those nights when the lights went off ..... However the recent Crab meal with prawns was beautifully served . The beer was as good as ever . Nice evening meal

Called in for lunch today with friends. We were greeted with a very warm welcome, and the food was fabulous 👌

Although we hadn't booked and the place was full, it was a nice sunny day, and we were offered a table outside, which was perfect. We were a party of eight, and 5 had the Sunday roast. We each choose a different meat (turkey, beef, lamb, and pork), and it was truly delicious. Even the pork crackling was to die for. There were loads of different vegetables and even yorkshire pudding, oh and the gravy 😋 It was the best roast dinner we've had in a very long time. The others had lasagne, mushroom stroganoff and a burger and nothing was left. The drinks and service was equally good. Would highly recommend

Came for a lunchtime meal and enjoyed it so decided to come for an evening meal with family. Evening meal was disappointing. Sizzler was over salted and was poor value. Only the steak meal was good from the 6 we ordered. Disappointed and will not be rushing back.

What a wonderful find. The food as absolutely delicious with portions to match. The main menu was extensive and then there was the specials board with at least 10 further dishes. Claire and Andy are superb hosts and the atmosphere is lovely. It is obviously used greatly by locals, no matter what day it is. Can't wait to go back next year.

Was recommended to try to this pub .so while staying in the area we'd thought we'd give it a go,booked in for a Sunday lunch, friendly staff to greet you on entering,once inside the pub had an olde worlde feeling to it, ordered the traditional roast of one beef and one turkey ,meal came hot with a good selection of vegetables the beef just seem to melt in the mouth,I Would highly recommended this place for the staff ,meal and value for money.

This pub was recommended by others staying at yellowtop Country Park, and they weren't wrong. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile, took to our table, and straight away asked if we would like drinks that were promptly brought to us I like this as to many places seat you then dissappear before offering drinks, an extensive menu was brought which has something for everyone and a huge special board with more fantastic choices on , the food was fantastic and tasty steak was cooked to perfection I had the mixed grill very filling I only just ate it overall a brilliant little pub excellent service excellent food , well done.

Went with my family. Young and old for my Birthday meal. Excellent service. We all really enjoyed all our meals. The table had a lovely birthday balloon etc. I had a lovely candle and a gift of a birthday cake and and a bottle of wine. Cannot fault this place it was superb.

Whilst on holiday in the area, me and my husband came for dinner, we were made to feel extremely welcome the atmosphere was lovely. The food was outstanding, a special shout out to the chef who cooked my t-bone steak to perfection. We would highly recommend this place if your in the area and we will definitely return next time we are in the area.

The quality of food and the exemplary service make this a standout restaurant. The sheer choice of food available is almost overwhelming and is coupled with very prompt and sensitive service.

What a lovely pub, we booked this as we are staying close by for a couple of nights and thought we'd start off/treat ourselves to a bit of lunch, we narrowed our search down to 3 and I am sooo glad we chose this. The welcome was very warm and despite being very busy, they had a large party for an 18th, the service was attentive and couldn't be faulted. Both myself and my partner had the Roast Beef and the beef didn't disappoint, hardly any fat, well cooked, perhaps just cut a bit thick for my personal tastes but considering how much rubbish beef is served for Sunday lunch in some establishments, this beef was definately a 12 out of ten. The gravy delicious, proper gravy, lovely mash, really creamy cauliflower cheese, the only slight disappointment would have been the roast potatoes, either done with the joint or done a bit too long and the yorkshire pudding was a bit chewy But we would definately go back, there are other meals served other than just Sunday roast and they looked simply gorgeous. There isn't an option for 4.5 and it's not quite a 5, so had to opt for a 4. Unfortunately we live in Leeds so it couldn't be a weekly trip but I'd definately drive an hour for lunch again. Well done to the chef and all staff

What a lovely welcoming pub. We are currently staying at Yellowtop Country Park and have never been out locally for a meal, so we decided to venture to Bubwith to the White Swan. We were made to feel very welcome by the landlord, who was very polite, friendly and accommodating. Service was quick, the food was delicious and the lager was great! All in all, a very nice place that we cannot wait to return to 😊 Whilst chatting to the landlord, I explained we were on our holidays for my birthday, and before we left, he kindly gave me a bottle of red wine to celebrate with, how lovely!

Very very very expensive!! Pint of cider, pint of lager, not much change from a tenner!! A pity that the pub has such limited open times, weekend opening is practically none existent.

Just had an amazing meal here to celebrate a family birthday. The food was lovely, I had the Sunday dinner and I’d definitely recommend it. The management and staff were really attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. I had my disabled son with me and they went out of their way to accommodate his dietary needs. They even had a portable ramp so it was easy to get him in and out in his wheelchair. We will definitely be coming back !

The menu has delights for everyone, and that is supplemented with a specials board. We found the portions to be genorous for starter and main. Swift service, great tasting food, huge portions and very friendly staff!

Went in evening for a friends birthday table wasnt quite ready so got a drink at bar while we waited it was nicely decorated. Didnt feel we got much time to look at menu before being asked what we wanted to eat. I didnt want any carbs so asked for salad and veg but was told i could only have either/ or so opted for salad dont know why i bothered as it was only a small lettuce leaf cut in half and not much else which made the meal seem an extortionate amount of money for a very small fish cake. There is a good choice of dishes if you are a carnivore however vegetarians had about two dishes to choose from and vegans have no hope unless you want a measley salad. No mention of availability if you have food allergies.
