The Marne Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

This was probably my 6th visit here. A great daytime restaurant (open until 6pm) within the Beverley golf club but open to all. Great staff, good prices and wonderful food.

Visited the Marne Restaurant today and enjoyed a wonderful meal. This was our first time visiting but will not be our last. From the friendly greeting, to the reasonable prices and great food, we could not fault our visit. We were a party of 10 and we were given a huge round table which seated us comfortably. Our order was taken quickly and all of the food arrived at the same time. If you are looking for great, hot, well cooked food, give this place a go. You will not be disappointed.

We recently had our work Christmas night out at the Marne Restaurant and it was fantastic. The food and service were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who looked after us very well. Excellent value for money and we would definitely go again. We all had a great night.

Due to the lack of restaurants in the area doing Christmas Dinner we opted to have the meal prepared by The Marne and we just had to warm it through. The Turkey was tasteless, the potatoes were anemic and had no seasoning, the sprouts were hard, the cranberry stuffing was lacking any flavour again no seasoning I cannot say everything was bad because the pigs in blankets were nice and the gravy was really tasty but this is not good enough for such a special occasion. I emailed the restaurant but got no reply so I left it a few days and I rang the manager she said the website was down so email my email address I did so and did not get any response and that is from the manager of the restaurant. I am very disappointed to say the least and will not be returning to the restaurant again.

Advertised as a carvery but meal brought on a plate - barely warm and all ingredients frozen. Even the meat looked and tasted as though it had been warmed up.

2nd visit as good as first! Friendly, helpful staff, fab carvery with variety of size choice, 3 meats and other dishes and tasty veg. Excellent value for money = clean plates all round.

Heard about it from a friend and thought why not a lovely walk followed by a fantastic carvery, washed down with a bottle of house red, fantastic value for money, we will be back

Really enjoy the Sunday lunch that is delivered. Good value, always piping hot and on time, and obviously saves on all the cooking.

Early start, the rain did not stop us, and I was told the food was good and great value. Enjoyed a lovely Full English will deffo be back.

Booked for the carvery today, launch day. Our first visit for a meal and it was brilliant. The welcome was prompt with all signs of social distancing, sanitiser and well arranged tables. Delicious carvery with good choices and hot when waitresses bring it to your table. The young waitresses are still learning but polite, cheerful, and eager to learn. Plenty of food and we orderd a small size. Try it.... good value and would use again. Thank you.

Informal restaurant in a lovely location on Beverley Westwood. Friendly, welcoming staff and plenty of choice on breakfast and lunch menus. Steak & Ale pies were excellent as was the fish dinner, especially the change to triple cooked chips with it. Good choice of desserts, very tempting, but we couldn't take advantage of the offer, too full ! Licenced premises, so overall, a good experience. Recommended.

I booked this restaurant as part of my parents golden wedding anniversary celebrations and it was confirmed by email. Two hours before we were due to eat the booking was cancelled by a short email from the restaurant with no explanation as to why, leaving no time to rebook anywhere else and really spoiling our day !

We held our wedding reception at the Marne this weekend and it was absolutely magical. Chrissy and the team went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, from the most beautifully decorated room to amazing food. They looked after us in every way possible and we couldn't recommend them highly enough. We had 42 people to the day and 100 to the evening reception. They catered for each and every one of us brilliantly.

Called here for breakfast with my sister & wife on the way to Beverley for breakfast really glad we did superb breakfast.Chrissie was very welcoming nothing was too much trouble ,hope to be back soon.

The staff are wonderful, very welcoming. The food is spot on, well presented and mouthwatering.

Having had a lovely walk across the Westwood pastures we had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the marine restaurant. I had the prawn cocktail to start with and the roast beef for main followed by sticky toffee pudding. You got a great portion of proper food, lots of prawns and roast beef with homemade Yorkshire puds and gravy. I don’t often write reviews so I must be impressed. Recommend this to anyone you won’t be let down by the quality of the food , friendly service and great value for money!

A party of 40+ of us recently celebrated a wedding anniversary. Service really good, food lovely and piping hot. We have already arranged with friends to go for sunday lunch. Amazing views over the Westwood as well.

I run a supper club with 35members comprising, male and female, married and single and of mixed ages who all meet at the Marne at 7pm for 7.30pm sit down on the second Wednesday of each month. We then enjoy a 2 course meal of a main and dessert course follows by tea or coffee. A member who won the previous month's quiz then presents a 20 question quiz. The winner receives a bottle of wine and the responsibility for the next month's quiz. We all then contribute £1 per person to a "Good Causes" fund which we build up and give to a chosen cause around Christmas. The Stewards Shane & Chrissie with staff Liam and James make us very welcome and help us chose a join menu each month. We visited with family for a Golden Wedding Anniversary meal in the restaurant on Sunday and the food was excellent! We had canapés and then a two course meal which everyone in the party of about forty seemed to enjoy and comment positively on. In fact we are in the process of planning a return visit for Sunday lunch in the bar with a smaller party and we will take our dogs. This is about the sixth visit and we have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you

I absolutely cannot fault the food at the Marne restaurant, it is fabulous. However our visit today was spoilt by the room being very cold. Even when we requested that the heating be turned on and a small heater was brought in it was too late to make a difference. Unfortunately our visit was spoilt by the fact that we were all so cold. It really was such a shame as everything else was very good.

Lovely food cannot fault it, the restaurant is within the golf club and is very nice and olde worldy worth a visit, the food is exceptionally good

Lovely place, my parents had their silver wedding anniversary party here with approx 80 people, was just about the right size, the buffet was fabulous, staff were lovely and Chrissie (the manager) couldn’t have done more or been more accommodating and friendly - brilliant night had by all!

Arranged our club Christmas Do here. What a good decision! Lovely layout for our gang, great service of freshly prepared Christmas fayre which tasted gorgeous! Lively atmosphere and great value! Next year booked already!

I visited the restaurant with a friend having pre booked the Christmas Fayre menu. Unfortunately there had been some cancellations so it was very quiet and not much atmosphere. However I could not fault the meal which was absolutely delicious. I couldn't eat my dessert so they kindly put it in a container so I could take it home. This is the second year we've had this menu and it was excellent both times. I will look forward to visiting again, hopefully soon. Lots of parking which is always a bonus and a lovely setting. No complaints at all and would definitely recommend eating at this restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic evening for our first Presidents Ball (52 guests). The staff are so friendly, great service, a real credit. The meal was so well presented and tasted great. Everyone said thier choices were delicious. Beautifull setting, the sun shone and the terrace/patio area provided a lovely open space for some fresh air during the hot Summer evening. Can highly recommend.

This restaurant is an amazing little gem in the heart of the picturesque Beverley Westwood. With amazing food and super friendly service it is a definite place to add to your list of Beverley's hidden gems.

The Marne Restaurant, located at The Beverley & East Riding Golf Club is private location, ideal for a small to medium sized function of between 20 - 40 people. We recently attended for a midweek, evening meal to celebrate the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of my in-laws.

Yesterday evening Beverley Golf Club was the venue for a Diamond Wedding Anniversary Party at which we were invited guests. Car parking was excellent and in close vacinity to the main building and upon entry there was the bar and reception area which were ideal for the purposes of 'meet and greet' of guests. The Party was held in an adjoining function room and upon entry the impression was that of a 'wow factor' ! The presentation was excellent with all chairs covered in white lycra covers, there were matching table cloths with plenty of lovely silver candle holders and balloons on the tables. Bar service was excellent. The meal was beautifully presented with plentiful supplies of vegetables. We enjoyed very tender roast beef with a good sized Yorkshire Pudding to be followed by an equally well presented second course of either mount watering chocolate cake with ice cream or cheesecake. Table service was conducted in a very friendly, cheerful and efficient manner and background music provided by the venue was well chosen personally by the Hosts for the occasion. Overall, an excellent experience, this being our second visit within a month for a Party at the Golf Club which is clearly well worth supporting under this new catering management.

Happened to hear through the local radio station about the new fine dining offering at Beverley Golf Club's Marne restaurant available to non members. Being a 'foodie fan' looking to support anything new and local, decided to give it a try - advertising does work! Admit to initially having been a bit unsure as to what to expect, but so pleased curiosity won the day here. Had the pleasure of one of the most memorable dining occasions ever experienced. As a relatively recent venture on the part of couple chef Shane Tate and partner, word may not have yet spread and hence on our visit, in the words of partner Chrissie "Hope you don't mind it being a bit quiet but we haven't been open long so not many know about us yet, plus the bad weather, but you are in for a real treat" - touching, loyal and true. I would go as far as to describe the quality of food as bordering on Michelin, could not recommend more highly and wish them every success

The restaurant is in the local golf club and is open to all. The food served is always well presented and very tasty. We had the Valentines meal and not disappointed with the menu. We also have had the cream teas here. It maybe the golf club but the standard has got to be a hole in one.

Have eaten a meal from this chef (Shane) before - and once again not disappointed

Being based at the Beverley Golf club and as well as providing drinks and snacks for hungry golfers, the Marne also offers a very comprehensive lunch and diner menu.

Visited the restaurant last night for a meal with friends and absolutely couldn't fault it. We chose to have the Christmas menu which is very reasonably priced. The food was excellent as was the service. Unfortunately apart from us the restaurant was empty but it's early days for them and think people are still under the impression its members only but it isn't. I would definitely recommend it.

Chicken and beef roasts, fish and chips or vegetarian option. We all enjoyed our meals. Home made Yorkshire pudding, crispy roast potatoes, real chips.

The local golf club has opened it's doors to non-members and included in the menu was a delicious cream tea served with copious amounts of tea and coffee to drink. A selection of sandwiches, cheeses and smoked salmon served with scones, cakes and brownies. Would have preferred to have a couple of cream cakes as well as the scones but never the less it was enjoyed by us all. Lovely club house open to the public where you would be hard pushed to find better value for money. Staff were very attentive despite being busy. The current stewards have only been in the club for a few weeks and have already made a real difference to the dinning menu with snacks and Sunday lunches.
