A bar with it's own character and a great atmosphere. Friendly staff and a good range of craft beers and spirits. Loved it.

Quirky little bar. Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. The game after 7pm of rolling a dice for a free drink was a fun touch.

Wow. What a hidden gem! A really great whiskey range that mostly focuses on the bourbons. But also has an extremely diverse world selection of whisky. Top that off with the barman Nick, whom was very accommodating and enthusiastic to chat whisky made the night complete. A must visit for any whisky fan.

Quirky little bar, great decor, especially Captain America Jesus, staff really friendly & welcoming. Only recently discovered while staying in Brighton over August bank holiday, but visited again at end Sept. Drinks great. Outside seating deck. Off the beaten track down a side road. Looking forward to our next trip & will definitely return here.

This place is quirky with cool artwork and random things you only notice on your 2nd or 3rd visit. Staff are spot on, visit if you get the chance.

Awful place. Surrounded by people smoking and ended up being sick after eating the fish!! Other members felt sick after the meal. Food was quickly served but staff were rude and trying to move us on. Not kid friendly as we were surrounded by people smoking, eventhough we asked for non smoking.

Great beers & Ale, lovely atmosphere, fantastic cocktails and an even the music was spot on 👌 Top that with one of the friendliest and professional bartenders I've had the pleasure to be served by, and you've got a winner ✨ Can't believe this is the first time I got to visit this hidden gem, that's a 10/10 in my book!

Did not know that they serve food here. Popped in for Sunday afternoon drinks. Cosy, friendly nice ambiance, tucked away in a quiet street. Cocktail menu if you are in the mood. Owner and staff friendly and helpful. Recommend.

Brilliant bar with a great Barman/owner a huge amount of bourbons ryes whiskey and whisky! Great range of beers. But my highlight was the music, a mix of blues and rock. All in all, one of best pubs that I've been to and I'm 67.

Visited a couple of times while staying nearby, and I thought it was the best bar in this part of town, worth visiting if you are in the vicinity

Called in two nights in a row and we were not disappointed. They do very nice cocktails which I feel are a little overpriced at about £10 each, but I can overlook that. It is a very quirky pub, and it has a good atmosphere. Both people who served us were more than helpful. We will definitely go back again in the future.

Such a super bar! Very friendly staff and a very welcoming atmosphere. I have my art up in there at the moment as the owner is so kind in supporting local artists giving them space to showcase their creations. So such a supportive venue

Don't miss this Brighton gem. A fantastically quirky bar which will be loved by old goths and rockers as well as young ones. A proper rockers pub in style with an artistic flare and an extensively stocked bar. We were greated with a warm smile and treated like friends. The barman, also the manager, seemed to love his job and he easily communicated his passion to us whilst making us one of his cocktail experiments which was delicious. We stayed for ages, soaking up the vibes from regular and new customers, surveying the well priced art and looking at different cabinets of curiosities. I would have loved it if they hosted themed nights like a proper old school rock and metal night and then it would have ticked all my boxes. I think they could make more of the wierd, I suggest they would find inspiration at the Victor Wynd Musuem and Absinthe Bar in London.

Popped in for a quick drink, stayed all eve….. what more can I say, looking forward to the next visit..

This was our first visit to this fantastic bar. From the outside, we didn't know what to expect, but on a cold winter night, the bar looked warm and inviting. The cocktail menu is one of the most amazing I have ever seen with signature cocktails containing a variety of specialist spirits and liquers, some of which I have never heard of. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about what they were serving. The decoration of the bar is eclectic, but it works, and the area we sat in had comfy sofas next to an open fire.

I always don't have any problems with the service I get. I also told the manager today what I'm going to do tomorrow and he helped me out without an issue. Excellent!

Unassuming from the outside, perfectly situated on a quiet side street less than 5 minute walk from where we were staying (Drakes). Streaming music was what made the place along with the bar staff. They don’t serve food but you are welcome to order a pizza from the Italian which almost next door and bring it back to the pub to enjoy with your pint. Super!

What a great little pub, We were made welcome and had several tastings of larger and IPA as we were not sure what to drink. No food available from the pub, but we could pop to the Italian just up the road and bring back pizza to eat. Brilliant atmosphere and music. Would highly recommend. 👌🍺🍺🍺🍺

A brilliant pub with live music. My friends and I were out on a pub crawl and this was stop 3 of 7. So good we didn't want to leave for pub 4! They had a live musician in doing a post modern jukebox style set with all the songs I had growing up in the early 2000's. The whole vibe of Brighton Rocks is excellent and it's very easy to mingle with people there. My friend brought me an absinthe cocktail too which was incredibly dangerous as it tasted like the best lemon juice you've ever had!

Having just come from living in Kentucky for 2 years - this is the best old fashioned in the world. Amazing bourbon selection, even better prices. If you live here and enjoy bourbon and amazing customer service - this is your spot.

Didn't eat there but the vibes were immaculate. Lovely service, we felt like regulars the second time we visited! A great place for obscure rums and trying new things. Only gripe is the toilets, was embarrassing people being able to hear me......

We found this little hidden gem, whilst on a weekend to Brighton. Very well designed outside seating, covered to keep the rain off. Great friendly atmosphere. We didn’t eat here, so couldn’t comment on the food.

On a cocktail tour and popped in and had a couple of cucumber collins' and very nice they were too. Definitely recommend.

Amazing little pub tucked out of the way off St James's Street. Great indoor space with eclectic feel, quaint outdoor seating with views of the sea. Huuuuge selection of whiskies, cocktails and great ales. Plus a delicious Chilean Sauvignon Blanc! Staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and happy to serve and accommodate you. There were three lovely guys working when we went and Jimmy was super speedy on cleaning tables in between customers! Normally you have to beg establishments for tables to be cleaned so that was incredibly refreshing. They clearly are very proud of their bar! They don't do food so are happy for you to get food elsewhere to eat in. Great pub and everything that Brighton is all about!! Highly recommend Brighton Rocks!

A hidden gem of a bar with an excellent choice of drinks and friendly efficient staff! Situated half way down a side road, off Saint James Street on the way to Kemptown, just up the road from Brighton beach and pier with a nice view of the sea when sat outside. The staff here really know their drinks and are happy to advise on taste and serve you. The tables are kept cleared of empties and cleaned regularly (and thoroughly) in-between customers. Bar snacks are available but you can also bring and eat your own food here. We really enjoyed the great atmosphere whilst sat outside drinking, talking with others and listening to a good selection of music. Added to our best bars in Brighton and we will definitely be back again soon! Thank you guys!

Very kind and cheerful staff, great atmosphere, and great beer :) Does not serve food but allows you to bring food from outside. There are boardgames to use too. A good time all around

Popped by during half-term for a drink with kids before supper. Very friendly staff, good with the kids. Truly a Delicious pint of Krombacher! Cold German pilsner after a day in the sun… perfect.

I have lived in Brighton for just over a year now and make it a personal goal to visit a new pub every week. I wish I visited Brighton Rocks sooner. Tucked away down a little street in Kemptown you could easily miss this place but it's worth a visit. Has a New Orleans theme and extremely tasty cocktails, although they are on the pricier end at around £11 a pop. Lots of interesting craft beers and lagers on tap as well. Doesn't get too busy whilst still having a good vibe and atmosphere. Theme makes it a more eclectic choice than other Kemptown offerings. Recommended 👍

Friendly and quirky, worth a visit

Can sometimes find some of the bars in Brighton a bit pretentious and self-important...so glad we found this place to while away a few mid-afternoon hours when staying around the corner. Great selection of drinks, really well made cocktails and super-friendly staff and regulars. Really cosy and comfortable, well worth seeking out.

Ate here with a buyagift deal. A limited menu for us worked out ok. Tasty mains and a friendly manager made for an ez meal. A good example of the Bella Italia chain.

Was staying around the corner in Brighton for the night and had a couple of hours to kill so wandered out looking for somewhere to spend the time with a couple of friends. So glad we found this bar...friendly, unpretentious, lovely knowledgeable staff and cosy as hell. A great find.

Four of us had booked a table for Sunday lunch at 2pm. Two of us are veggies. It took about 45 mins for the food to arrive. The veggie meals were nice but my friend ordered pork which was quite burned so she sent it back. Her meal was replaced quickly. At 3.55pm we were reminded that we needed to leave by 4pm. They had told my friend this when he booked. I wouldn't have minded the long wait or vacating by 4pm but the two combined meant we felt rushed and had no option for more drinks or dessert even though we would have liked them. I wouldn't rush back, its good to find a two choices for veggies on a Sunday lunch but not really worth it for the price.

Quaint pub, one of Brighton's hidden gems. Staff are very friendly and happy to explain the various drinks available, not sure I've ever seen as many spirit bottles behind the bar. Would highly recommend, particularly if your looking for a quiet drink.

Looks like a place with potential to be a good bar but the drinks were average and the smell in the men's toilets was rancid and I've been in some bars over the years but never had to hold my nose in the toilets

We came here recently as a large group and the staff were very helpful in accommodating us and letting us order large rounds. Very buzzy and fun atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.

Great, friendly little bar hidden in the side street off St James St. The atmosphere is always nice and the drinks are reasonable. There's outside space just be aware that the view isn't great and it doesn't ever catch the sun. I'd go here for a first date or with good friends.

Cannot love this place enough. Made our Pride weekend. Dan and his team are phenomenal - the warmest welcome and biggest hearts. The English Disco Lovers were awesomely danceable. We'll be back to party as soon as we can. Huge thank you x

Love this bar and so did our doggies 🐕 Ordered a Mojito and Espresso Martini even they are not on the cocktail list. Unfortunately they don't do liquor coffees. Very friendly and you can sit outside if you want to. On a side street. Worth a visit especially if you have your dogs with you.
