Good ambience and beach views. Our £17 glass of champagne was served in a plastic glass! Nachos were tasty and fresh.

Although I have not stayed in the hut, I walked by it the other day. All I can say is that it looks idyllic. Not far from the owner's house, I'm guessing facilities are close by here. The situation is very beautiful. Way off the main road but next to a single track road which carries farm traffic. I would imagine it is a lovely place to view the stars on a clear night sky as there is very low light pollution. If you want an idyllic, romantic few days in the middle of the South Downs this is the place for you.

Just got back from having spent 4 nights in the Shepherd's Hut, and I was sad to leave it! We had a fantastic stay, and Sally was a great host. On arrival, she invited us into her living room for a cup of tea and a chat, which was a nice way to break the ice. For the rest of our stay we were left to enjoy our privacy, and Sally was always on hand for whenever we needed anything. She made great recommendations for things to do in the area, and even gave us a lift to Devil's Dyke so we could enjoy a scenic walk across the South Downs and make our way back to the farm as our finishing point. The actual hut is small, but well-equipped, and close enough to the main cottage so that we didn't have to go far to access the bathroom/toilet facilities. We also had frequent use of the decking area outside the main cottage, where we were able to access to its WiFi. The location is remote with spectacular, scenic views and offers access to some nice walking routes. Sally's breakfasts are like a banquet - there are plenty of cereals, fruit and cooked items to choose from, so those with a big appetite definitely wouldn't be disappointed! We even got some oven-fresh rock buns on our last morning, which were delicious. We had a couple of our even meals here too, which were also lovely and generously-sized. TRAVELLER'S TIP: As the Shepherd's Hut is small, I would recommend that you bring a minimal amount of stuff with you. Cabin-size baggage will fit nicely under the bed, though if you bring a larger suitcase or even a well-stuffed holdall, you may need to leave it in the boot of your car; the parking lay-by is only yards away so this wasn't a problem for us.

This is a small farmhouse near Brighton where Sally keeps some chicken, a duck, a very well kept garden, and the romantic shepherds hut, where we were lucky to stay one night on our way to Gtwick airport. It is on the right hand side driving northbound from Brighton on a tiny quiet road, we couldn't find it right away, so we rang her, where she gave us guidance finishing with the blessed expression:" I put the kettle on" We found her in her cosy home, where we had been welcomed in here private living room with a delicious tea and homemade cake. She has been amazing through all the stay, in less than 24 hours we felt we had won a good friend or a found a long lost family member. The hut so special, never experienced such, much preferred to a 4 star hotel. And on top there is Wifi connection! Thank you Sally

What a amazing place! Sally and Richard are very welcoming and the historic hut is a cozy home with fire and kettle. Great walks surrounded us on this working farm, I will be returning not only for the amazing fuller than English breakfast.

I never ate here unfortunately as the manager messaged me at 9pm the night before to say the system hadn’t reserved our table. Obviously system failures happen, and I appreciated that. He offered 2 other available times so I called back the next day to move it to the time offered, just to be told over the phone that there was in fact no table reserved for us still! A group of 6 came down from London especially for it. Very disappointing.

Food was tasteless and they brought it barely warmed, also you cant swap anything, non existing service but the service charge already included in the bill, table felt sticky , cutlery full of fingerprints and sticky
