Quilligan's Cafe Bar in Blackpool

Quilligans café bar is a fantastic venue just slightly hidden away by the Winter Gardens in Blackpool's town centre. The choice of food options is almost as large as the menus they're listed on. Everything is cooked and made to order and is of excellent quality. I can thoroughly recommend the eggs benedict as they use incredibly tasty and quality ham coupled with perfectly poached eggs and a lovely hollandaise sauce. The thick chips come with a gorgeous peppercorn sauce, and the smoked salmon open sandwiches were plentiful and fresh. If you're in the town centre looking for a good café you can't go wrong with quilligans.

The small room on the side is magnificent (I'm talking about the ceramics on the wall) The dishes are good, very generous. The staff is very friendly

Very disappointed Soup had no taste so I asked for it to be changed to a prawn cocktail which they did no problem and it was nice the mains came I had lasagne which was 3 layers of pasta with a bit of minced meat and lashings of tomato soup not enjoyable at all (cut down on the soup add a bit of cream into it 100% improvement) portion of chips which were cold and unable to eat. No one came to do a check back on our food and no one came to clear our table for the 50 mins we sat finishing our drinks although there were plenty staff chatting at the otherside of the restaurant. All in all have used this place for a long time before they moved and the food was always top notch. Came once before since they relocated and it was OK so I thought I would give it a second chance sincerley wish I hadn't! Upon paying for our food I told the woman on the till that we couldn't eat the chips as they were cold her reply...well you should have told someone...sums the service up in one sentence really none existent...so sad used be soooo good 👎👎👎

We have been to coming here for years, never changes, great food, loads of choice from one of the biggest menu's you will ever see. Service is quick with very pleasant staff, give them a go, you will go back.

Enjoyed my meal here (mixed grill) chicken breast was lovely too. Garlic bread was a bit dry and kids chicken nuggets didn't look too nice and never got ate though. Service was friendly and nice relaxed atmosphere inside.

Fabulous place, Fabulous food. I had a full English breakfast and toast, shame that it could of had one more butter to go with it and one more maralade to go with it. I had a cup of tea, but only got to sugar portions for it, would of been better having two more, but everything else was so nice, would recommend to people to come.

By luck we found this on our little trip to Blackpool. We went twice for breakfast and it was yummy. The service was amazing and when we go back we will definitely revisit.

Excellent breakfast!! Don't pay your hotel for a buffet you have to queue at when you can get served at this beautiful cafe with delicious food and excellent service. Very smart system for signalling you are ready to order! Oh and good coffee is hard to find!

2 meals came out then we had to wait at least 5 mins for the rest if not longer. The worst hunters chicken I have ever had

Worst full English ever. Tough barely grilled tomato,chewy overcooked bacon, overcooked eggs and rock hard mushrooms. Server was miserable couldn't crack a smile.

Avoiding from now on. We loved coming here, visited at least every other month, recommended to all friends but won’t be going back. Our last two trips have been really disappointing. The service use to be amazing, now it feels like half of them can’t be arsed serving you, no friendly welcoming as you enter and no one checks on the food once it’s arrived. The food is nice, had two small issues recently but the way it was dealt with made you feel like you’re the issue when you ask for it to be corrected. Never had a problem with the food before our last two visits and again the issues with the food aren’t the reasons we won’t be returning. Such as shame because this was one of my favourite places in Blackpool, it’s now not worth the money when you come away slightly frustrated by the service. For us going out for a meal is a real treat and we’ve come away this weekend really regretting our choice, especially because it was a birthday treat.

10 out of 10 for this place. A huge selection of food at a reasonable price too! Staff are very good. A great place to watch the world go by. Look for the Winter Gardens then it's on the left.

I've been to Quilligan's a few times over the years, and the story is usually the same each time I dine there. Today, I ordered the jumbo breakfast and a bacon and mushroom omelette. The breakfast came out fine; everything on that was as asked for. However, my dining partner received a bacon and cheese omelette instead of the meal she had asked for. Nobody came to check on us, and when she eventually flagged it with the waiting staff, he just shrugged it off. No replacement was offered. At the till, the omelette was discounted - but the person operating the till thought it was amusing that the mistake had been made. Overall, a poor service with serviceable food. The price, I think, is accurate for the quality of the food.

Friendly enough to offer us a free brew and bacon sandwich when we're cold outside 😅👍

I can't believe I'd never been to Quilligans before having lived in Blackpool for so long, and now I've been twice in a fortnight! The welcome was lovely, the staff were brilliant, and the food... Oh my. I had a panini the first visit and a burger for the second and I enjoyed both meals. Both times I had a mint choc milkshake and I've become addicted to them - thick enough to stand a spoon up but not too thick to drink. It helps that you're also given a big strae that is wider than a normal one. One lovely thing they do is to put a coaster on the table when first seated to the side that let's the staff know you're still thinking. When you're ready, you flip it over and the staff will come take your order - makes you not feel "rushed" to decide.

How big is this Menu.. I needed a Peroni whilst reading it.. Lovely Cafe Bar.. Food is of good quality and service great. Cant fault it its not fine dining but some dishes are as good as home. This is a popular cafe next to Winter Gardens.

Terrible! Went in with a mate and it was a shocking experience! The food was dreadful, and the service was awful! No one came back to check on us to see how the food was or even offer us another drink!

The menu is big with a good selection and has burger gluten free options but when I ordered the burger it came and was very dry an not very appetizing and the chips were dripping in grease which wasn't ideal. I wouldn't recommend

Order gluten free bun for burger due to me having coeliac disease and they gave me regular bun and the burger was over cooked and it cost me £26 for 2 of those burgers and a 7 up.

Clean tidy, quick service. Plenty to choose from as the menu options are massive. Heart of Blackpool and easy to get too. Prices are normal for the type of cafe.

Have been using quilligans for years even before they moved, today for the first time my meal came out cold, when I told the staff he simply said I don't think so it's just come out of the oven, so I said get the kitchen to probe it and you will see. After my husband nearly finished eating half of the breakfast my burger still wasn't back just left with the fries, so we decided to pay and leave. Counter staff i think new was also very rude. WILL NOT BE BACK AGAIN. bread and butter all year round customers not anymore.

Very large menu with huge amounts of choice. Excellent service and lovely staff. We had a breakfast and a sirloin steak wrap, sadly the food wasn't great. Couldn't eat the sausages as they must have been sat under heat for so long they'd gone dry and crispy all the way through. Bacon was well cooked but didn't really taste of anything. Sirloin steak wrap only had 5 small pieces of steak which was quite fatty, not great for just under £11. Overall quite disappointing.

Food gòod service quick,atmosphere was ok untill someone behind was coughing all the time so had to get out.

Massive menu choice, prices very reasonable. Food came quickly and was delicious. Steak pie was awesome. Service not very attentive though.

Great place to eat. Been here most times I go into town now. The build your own breakfast is brilliant value for money as is the American pancakes. Reasonably priced and food always nice and hot and fresh. The staff are also really friendly and will answer any questions you may have in a timely and professional manner.

Called late morning, had a full English and a jumbo breakfast between us. Absolute quality, great staff, couldn't fault it.

Your website needs updating we arrived at 3.55 was about to walk in and they said they were closing we travelled especially to this restaurant as we’re never disappointed until today a wasted journey. If you close different hours out of season you should hi light this. 😕 on your website

Lovely little place went in with my children last night. The food was lovely and the coffees. Friendly staff and good service and we went back for breakfast this morning too, again great all round, would really recommend this place

I left Blackpool 5 years ago. Quilligans is a few doors down from where it was back then. still all the old faves on the menu. still great service. The new location is really nice . Iloved the old place but hey the quality hast changed only the building

Had a bbq chickin it was very tuff and dry but everything else was very good , service was very quick and pleasant would go again

Sadly I have to give 2 stars. Staff are brilliant. Can't fault them But food wasn't up to par. Had steak pie and a chicken pie. Both were extremely salty. So could not finish. Didn't even get half way. Steak pie meat was extremely tough and had lots of small tubes ( basically large bloody vessels ) poking out of several bits. You usually notice them as you cut the meat up. It was also extremely tough. Chicken was tough also. Mushy peas were not mushy peas. It was whole marrowfat peas in like warm water. Sad as last time we were there steak pie was amazing.

The largest menu in Blackpool 😃 so many items. I had lasagna with garlic bread and thick cut chips with a Stilton sauce. When the lasagna was served I found the bottom was burnt (hence the 4 stars). I informed the server and it was immediately replaced and I found it delicious. The thick cut chips are huge and crispy and we couldn't finish a portion between us. Prices are very good and offer good value. Would I go back? Maybe.

The bacon cheese burger I had was decent, maybe a bit plain and the double expresso was a bit watery.

Consistently good standard of simple food. Friendly and efficient people. Great surroundings with some fantastic, restored art deco tiles. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or grabbing a quick bite on the go.

Went all the up to here and found it closed, completely stripped out. Don’t waste your time.

Never fails to deliver, due to Covid restrictions, I've not been in for 2 and a half years, it as usual did not disappoint, staff remembered me, presentation of food and quality is always first class. If your in Blackpool do not pass it bye.

Sooo much selection, inexpensive price, good food, friendly service. They have something for everyone. I chose the traditional English breakfast because the American in me wants to understand and enjoy beans for breakfast. Alas, I cannot but the rest of the food was a very good breakfast!

Give this place a miss, Sunday roast is like a plate of soup, that's over a period of 7 years....... Sack the chef... Its not rocket science.

We had a beautiful meal in Quilligans in Blackpool and it was amazing.the huge menu makes it difficult to make a choice.We went for roast beef and Yorkshire pudding it was delicious .All freshly cooked and served with a smile.staff are very helpful and efficient. Veg on the side was gorgeous and our dessert was just so good.I'd highly recommend this restaurant.I can't wait to go back.

Very poor breakfast poached eggs very very snotty

Came here for the 1st time last month with my partner after checking out from the hotel. We both got the full English. Generally can’t fault it really nice food, friendly staff. We’re coming back Blackpool again in December and will return here then for sure

Had lunch here for the first time while out shopping and it was a real treat! The café is ideally located right next to the Winter Gardens. I was made very welcome and taken to a table straight away. Nice relaxed atmosphere and pleasing décor - loved the ceramic pictures! - and also very clean with tables and chairs sanitised and the floor around them swept as soon as they were vacated. There's a ground floor toilet with disabled access and baby changing. The waiters were polite, friendly and so attentive. Couldn't believe the wide choice of breakfasts, light snacks and hot dinners on the menu. I opted for the two course lunch deal and had the black pudding and poached egg in hollandaise sauce on toast, followed by baked salmon in prawn sauce with chunky chips, mash and three veg. Both courses were well cooked, beautifully presented and the helpings were generous. Amazing value for money at £12.50. Large pot of good strong tea too. Will definitely have lunch here again!
