Pre booked a large table for 9 of us of us as we were staying locally. It was well organised with a lovely view overlooking the Wye. It is very dog friendly with efficient service. The food was lovely, especially the brie and soup. It was disappointing however that there were no baguettes available the day we visited and was told that these are generally only served during busy and summer months. Lovely setting and overall a lovely experience. The parking situation is unclear as I understand if you eat here, you don’t need to pay?

Was supposed to be carvery but beef was floating in a tray of water along with the gammon. Veges were cold. The Yorkshire pudding however was good. The place was very cold. A fire had just been lit at 1.00 pm. Should of been lit at 10.00 am to warm the place.

We booked in and had a New Year’s Eve / wedding meal, at The Lamplighter Dining rooms . Communication and the meal itself was outstanding. They decorated the table for us with petals and provided a complimentary glass of Prosecco to make our evening special . The food and service was outstanding- ! small criticism , was that it was a dreadful evening, weather wise , yet there was no where to put coats or any one on hand immediately to take them and umbrellas. None the less , I would highly recommend James and his team and please send on our compliments to the chef.
