Immediately felt made to feel special and like a regular customer. Cottage pie was really good had a special smokiness to it. Would definitely return, although an hour and a half from where we live so not local. If over this way again will make special trip to return. Lovely welcoming environment 😊

Had the most delicious Sunday lunch, homemade cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding. All gorgeous.

A great place to stop by when in the area. A few miles off the A21 but worth the effort as plenty of space and nice menu. Bar area and a separate restaurant room that was more of an extension to the bar tables. Clearly room in there for a party. We stopped for sunday lunch and had a nice roast. They offer different size lunch plate depending on how hungry you are. All freshly cooked as such a small wait but worth it Great service and sensible prices

Enjoyed a very enjoyable lunch here. The food was well prepared and delicious, and the staff were attentive and engaged. There are a number of tables on the sunny terrace beside the pub overlooking the river and some on a small lawn area to the rear. Great location for a lunch on a sunny summer's day, For those of us of a more mature age, the pub reminds of days gone by (apart from the lack of cigarette smoke), it could benefit from a lick of paint and that is really all that keeps it from scoring higher in my mind

We booked food and an area out the back for a wake following a funeral at Lamberhurst Church. . The location is excellent for this The food was plentiful and reasonably priced. The staff are helpful, friendly and accommodating We had the private area for as long as we needed it. There was an endless supply of tea and coffee included and it was still hot several hours later We were very satisfied all round and recommend The George and Dragon

We booked our family Christmas Eve meal at the George and Dragon and were not disappointed. There were 19 of us and our tables were decorated beautifully. The food was great and the staff were really friendly. Thank you for a lovely afternoon!

Arrived lunch time to check in ...mobile heater in middle of bar..bit chilly..told the pub was shut that evening ....shown to rooms ...struck as really cold...heating not on. shown social way in when pub shut.. after serious concieration decided with all the facts (pub not open...cold room no heating) not to stay overnight ...went back to tell of the decision. It was not till some time later my local friends were able to secure a partial refund. I would not on my experience recommend this Hotel /restaurant

Went for a late lunch on New Years Eve with other half and another couple. Service was just-right without being over-attentive or aggravating. The food was absolutely excellent. . We all had different starters and and different mains, and by the end of the meal we all agreed that every dish was spot-on. The cost of the meal (4xStarter, 4xMains) plus 2 bottles of wine and 4 soft drinks, we all thought was very, very reasonable. Will we be returning? - Too bloody right we will !!

The George and Dragon put on an after funeral wake Tea for us for 70+ people. There was plenty of space for people to circulate, with tables for those who wanted to sit. The food was excellent and appreciated by all. The staff were extremely obliging and helpful. It was a good choice. (The only fault was that we requested some gluten-free items which weren't there. As it happens the person for whom these were requested had eaten recently so wasn't too upset.)

Lovely pub, room was spacious, clean presented well and bed very comfortable. Lots of parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful allowing early check in due to attending a event and also super helpful assisting with cabs. Breakfast was great. All round good service and a pleasant stay thank you.

It would have been reviewed as excellent had there not been a Baby Shower and kids running around! The food was delicious, one of our party had a jacket potato with Rose Marie prawns which was enjoyed. The rest had pork or beef. Quantities were large and they did GF Yorkshires as well!The banoffee pies had digestive bases which made them enjoyable.

Came down to my local for a beer and decided to try the roast dinner. It was delicious the potatoes were perfect and the homemade leek cheese was lovely. They also do homemade Yorkshire puddings yum. The place is under new management and they are very warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend the roast dinner and I will also be trying out the rest of the menu.

Always a warm welcome from landlord and staff. Fine ale and nosebag. Always enjoyed our visits. Just learnt today that the pub is closing on Wednesday. Will be missed. Good luck and fortune to all staff.

We were visiting Scotney Castle and the tearoom was too full (it being New Year’s Day), so we walked down the short muddy trail to Lamberhurst.This pub was so welcoming and lovely. The landlord was chatty, and told us his story: a Brummie who has settled down here.Nothing was too much trouble. They did us a roast beef sandwich (which we really fancied) even though it wasn’t on the menu. Food tasty and not pricey.We all left wishing this was our local, and wishing we had been there for the party the night before!

As it was Christmas Eve we didn't expect too much and were happy with jacket potatoes and a baguette. All very tasty. Scott loved giving the dog gravy bones so she enjoyed it thoroughly! Friendly staff, good atmosphere but bar area could do with the fire going.

Myself and my partner have stopped in for a quick drink a few times and always been welcomed with a smile and friendly bar staff. We stopped in for Sunday lunch without booking, they explained we were just in time, the portion size was great and the actual roast was tasty and filling. I quite like it in here as it's not protentious or stuck up it is a normal pub serving great food with a friendly atmosphere. We will be going back again soon.

Stopped here for lunch on journey with overseas visitors from Australia. While the food was well cooked and presented the portion size for the fish was woefull - smallest I have ever had in a pub. When this was politely raised with the publican his response was "next time I will look for some bigger fish". Very poor customer service to fob someone off with a flippant comment. We all left feeling disgruntled and hungry with no intention of returning again.

A period property in the charming village of Lamberhurst on the banks of a little river. Quite idyllic really-at least the exterior is. Inside this period building is a cool, (temperature), bar with very friendly staff. Despite the various attractive features within, there is invasive music and various boards advertising food/events, which tend to interfere with relaxation. Outside is a different story. We loved listening to the little babbling river and would have stayed longer if we hadn’t been en route to somewhere else. We’ll return.

We stopped by today to wait for the Dakota fly past for 75th anniversary D-Day commemorations.

My wife and I plus kids have visited this Inn on numerous occasions for numerous reasons. Most importantly the welcoming reception from the Owner is rare to find. The staff also are very friendly from the moment you walk through the door. The menu is excellent and varied changing often which is unusual but a very good feature.

This pub really deserves to be on the up. It’s a project it’s true and quite a lot of refurb is required by the new owners but they certainly have the basics right. We dine out a lot in the Tunbridge Wells area and we all agreed it was the best Sunday lunch we have had for ages! Really good, well cooked food served with a decent Sauvignon Blanc. Our 2 year old grandson enjoyed the children’s menu and ate really well which isn’t always the case, so he obviously enjoyed it too!

Julie & Scott were great hosts for our reunion of old school friends (8 of us). The food was excellent with a good range of choices. We had a large round table and plenty of room in their sizeable restaurant. After dinner we retired to the comfortable snug for the rest of the afternoon! it was really appreciated that we were not rushed (our catching-up lasted for 5 hours!). Would thoroughly recommend and plan to return for our next reunion if not before!

Located within a 10 minute drive from Scotney Castle, this place was a saviour for us on a late afternoon. The staff were friendly, courteous and attentive to our needs. The food was fantastic , the portions were perfect and tasted excellent. Despite coming in late (Around 2:30) they ensured we got our food and were kind enough to accommodate our dessert orders as well. If you are in the vicinity, I would recommend visiting this place.

Came in with hubby and 2 toddlers and had a lovely afternoon. Great chat with the staff, super welcoming to the kids (colouring and games provided), great big glass of wine and awesome scampi and chips.. delighted that this is our new local! Oh and also they produced freshly cooked sausage rolls and quiche as bar snacks for everybody st the bar.. on the house .. such a nice gesture!

This pub had been recommended for the food and we were not disappointed. Great value for money. The homemade burgers were solid meat and tasty. We were with a party of 20 having our annual Christmas get together. The dinner here was great, particularly as I’m a Coeliac and require a gluten free dinner. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Well done, we will be back.

This pub has recently been taken over and the sunday roast was to die for, however, unfortunately the chef has now left and the sunday roast is nowhere near in the league that it once was. We dined in the Geaorge & Dragon most Sundays......as the roast was so so good, but sadly we will not be dining there anymore, due to the chef leaving and the quality of the food not being up to the standard of the previous chef. We noticed straight away 'that the food was so different' Such a shame :( as this chef was only there for a short short while.

We stopped en route home for Sunday lunch. The lunchroom is really stunning and the staff were very warm. We had a delicious roast - lamb for me, and a veg wellington for her that was very tasty. We certainly hope to come back!

Stopped off at Lamberhurst after a visit to Scotney Castle (National Trust) looking for a Sunday roast happen to come across the George and Dragon just by chance and am so pleased we did. Freindly staff, lovely atmosphere and possibly the best Roast dinner I've ever eaten. Even the dessert (Apple Crumble) surpassed all expectations.

Visited the George and Dragon last night with friends as we were going to a concert in the village and needed somewhere to eat beforehand. I had been tasked to 'find food', and not knowing the local area it was a bit of a gamble, but definitely paid off! The staff were very friendly, the service was quick (we had mentioned the time of the concert and they advised it wouldn't be a problem) and the food was very tasty! We had a selection of dishes between us, and all were very well presented and perfectly cooked! Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting the area!

I had lunch here and it was delicious. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty. The guy who served us was extremely helpful and very chatty. We were all made to feel very welcomed. The dining room was very well laid out, plenty of room. Lovely comfortable chairs in the bar area. We're all looking forward to a return visit.

On visiting this newly opened inn I was more than pleasantly surprised - the George and dragon in lamberhurst is beautiful and airy and has a super outside space too. The menu has lots of options for appetites large and small and to suit any taste. Being a business lunch I opted for a jacket potatoes with crayfish and prawns this came beautifully presented with a colourful salad and home made dressing be warned portions are generous - my colleague opted for the cottage pie with parmasen crisps - again beautifully presented and I am told it was scrumptious. Sadly we didn’t have time for desserts but they look and sound amazing. Nestled in the heart of lamberhurst I would highly recommend a visit - either for a drink there are many available including a range of wines,beers and gins or lunch or lunch/dinner as the food is exquisite.

Fantastic pub,in the middle of no where, can't believe only been open two weeks. Staff are hospitable and very welcoming. Drinks are well priced, can't wait to come in for food.

We were passing by yesterday and saw this pub, so stopped for a light lunch. It has just been refurbished and it looks really good. We ordered a jacket potato with coronation chicken and the cheese platter. The presentation was really lovely and the taste just as good. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and we felt like we had found a little gem. We don’t live nearby but will definitely travel out to this great pub again. We wish them great success for the future.

Visited the day after it opened with my wife and we enjoyed a lovely lunch. Friendly, good food, nicely presented and quick service. I then arranged lunch on Wednesday for 12 Maidstone Ramblers. The staff organised it brilliantly, we were served very promptly and the food was excellent. Well done. It is good to see a pub re-open with a traditional menu.

1st Sunday open after being closed for some time but that didn’t seem to phase the staff. They seemed to take everything in their stride. The food was excellent, well cooked and perfectly presented, worthy of a Masterchef final. The bar area is dog friendly and the service excellent. We will certainly return and can’t recommend this highly enough. Give it a try, you won’t be dissappointed.

Brilliant opening night. All the staff worked really hard to get everything done, and still had a smile on their face for the customers. Great menu and excellent meal.

The George and Dragon was just taken over on Thurs 13th Sept. Brilliant manager and attentive, on the ball staff, without being in your face. Food sublime. I spoke to lots of people eating on the opening night and to a person they all said fantastic, not a mean feat on an opening night no teething problems. So we decided to try that Saturday. Went with my partner and friends. All had gt food. It is also reasonably priced, as is the drink. Great selection of gins I love pink peppercorn, which they stock and would recommend the Seville gin, don't be put off by the orange colour! Delish! Would not hesitate to highly recommend.

Have just been for afternoon tea at the George and Dragon Lamberhurst and it was absolutely gorgeous I don’t eat bread but they do mini wraps which was a nice change as I’ve not been anywhere that do wraps it’s all sandwiches but we had a choice and they were gorgeous smoked salmon, egg, ham , fruit scones with jam and clotted cream and a wide choice of cakes served with pot of tea and a glass of pressecco highly recommend the setting was lovely if you haven’t been I would definitely go and try afternoon tea I will be going back again for sure. Staff lovely couldn’t do enough for you. A big thank you

Just been to the George and dragon for the burger night and it was the best burger I have ever had. It’s a lovely pub and the staff are so friendly. Will definitely be going back and highly recommend
