Fuggles Beer Cafe in Tunbridge Wells

I like Fuggles but there are times I wonder if I'm in a crèche or a dog kennel. A great selection of beers and a pleasant atmosphere occasionally interrupted by a dog bark. As a parent of a young child I personally prefer bars to be adult spaces. The fact it remains one of my go to bars demonstrates the minor irritations aren't sufficient to deter me.

Large selection of craft beers, many of them local. Also lots of different gin based drinks. Nice atmosphere with trendy industrial style interior. Good charcuterie and cheese selection, although the pricing structure makes it relatively expensive if it's just for two people. Would also be nice if chips were on the menu. As an added plus point, have lots of board games.

First time visit and made my plans to come back again. Absolutely favourite craft beer stop. When i visited it was some kind of beer tap takeover going on. Really enjoyed relaxing atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. Great and quick service. Plenty of choices in craft beer selection and all were too class. Very reasonable prices. Really recommend this place. Worth to try for beer lovers.

Consistently the best selection of beers in Tunbridge Wells since 2013

Don't know about food. I just went in to get some takeaway beers as their bottle shop has sadly closed. Anyway super helpful staff and it seemed quietly busy. A great place if you are looking for good quality beer and something out of the ordinary.

Nice craft beer cafe, only popped in for a quick drink, a very good selection of craft beer. As its craft the prices reflect this. Looked like there were some good events in the evening, pub quiz, book club etc. Food menu looked interesting not your usual café food so would be interested in going back.

Love the play list, the great cuaration of ales and charcuterie. 🤗

By far the best selection of quality beers available in a Tunbridge Wells bar. At least in my opinion. Draught De Struise Clash of the Titans Special Reserva at 12.6%. Amazing

Great pub with unique beer. Never seen the drinks they serve there anywhere else. Only drawbacks are that I can think of are that it's quite a small place, which can be cosy when it's not busy but frustrating when it is. The food is pretty expensive for what it is.

If you like trying different beers/ lagers/ciders etc this is the place to go. Some beers can be quite dear.

Friendly. Simple food (cheese, charcuterie, hot dogs, pickled eggs). Welcoming. Games galore. Sensible volume chilled out music. More beers and ciders than there’s time for in one session.

Do not! I repeat, do not! Order the alcohol free beer option in the silver can it tastes like pickle juice, and when you ask staff about its quaint taste, you are told that 'is the risk you take' which is true, so take my advice and do not order this abomination of a alcohol free drink, otherwise the bar was lovely 😉

A great place to go if you’re into craft beer, and the staff are very knowledgeable. Great food, and I really liked that all the hot dogs could be made with a vegetarian option, so as a vegetarian I got lots of choice rather than just the one veggie option that happens at so many places.

Fantastic service , food and beer as always. There’s always something new and exciting to try on the ever changing beer list. They’ve got a beer for every occasion and they really have a passion for great beer.

Came here with friends before a gig at the Forum and the hotdogs were gorgeous! So delicious and paired perfectly with my beer. Love the vibe and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable.

A great place for proper beer fans. A large selection of all types of beers including some vintage and unusual ones. A good choice of gins and reasonable wine choice. This place does a nice well priced snack menu with amazing pretzels🥨. Atmosphere is usually good with a wide range of customers from all walks of life. Staff are very helpful and attentive and the decor is very Belgium influenced. I’d suggest giving it a try 👍🏻

Excellent place for meeting friends, dates, or just a casual coffee by yourself. The options of beer is phenomenal, and ever changing. I've never had nothing but a great time here.

Best venue for craft beers for miles around. An extensive array ranging from sours to barrel aged imperial stouts. They do cider and local spirits too if beer is not your thing.

Spacious beer bar with extensive selection of tap and some cask beer from top quality breweries. Has hot food too, hotdogs and toasties. Had the turkey toastie and regular hotdog, the latter was a highlight. Drank a Jester King spontaneous beer, very special.

Absolutely cracking pub. The beer choice was truly epic. If you're a fan of ales / IPAs / Sour beers then this is the place for you. The bar staff were all friendly and very helpful too.

I finally made the trip here from East Grinstead. Excellent choice of beers and it’s possible to buy thirds, halves and pints. Staff were very friendly even though it was busy. Will definitely be back.

Nice place at the top of town for a drink and a bite. I had the classic cheese toastie and it was phenomenal. I visited for the beer selection but will go back for that sandwich.

I came here afew weeks back with my husband and I can say it was diabolical. Rude staff that seemed to judge me on my choice of drink because I chose a juice as the beer choices overwhelms me. A glance of disappointment because I wanted a soft drink, what an odd chap he was

Great craft beer bar with an excellent selection of keg, cask and bottled beers. The selection of beers is well chosen and reasonably priced. Service is friendly. The cask beer is well kept. I prefer the layout and atmosphere at the Tonbridge bar as it feels more spacious. However it's well worth popping in here if you love good beer.

Absolutely worth a visit if you have a love of tasty and unusual booze. Cracking selection of beers, wines, cider and gin with a super knowledgeable staff who are able to give advice and suggestions. Dog friendly too.

Went on a Wednesday evening, relaxing environment and had a good laugh with the bar tender. Would go again during the weekdays.

This bar is fantastic, with a range of intriguing drinks. More importantly it has a range of fascinating characters, none more so than the effervescent William who works behind the bar. William has served us several times, is quick witted, intelligent, comedically enlightened, sharper than a badgers tooth and creative. Although the drinks, food, clientele and dogs are a good reason to go to Fuggles it is William that keeps us returning. One time I heard William discussing the intellectual rigours of Shakespeare while at the same time serving 3 people, making 2 toasties, serving one of the dogs and still was able to offer genial observations on the sartorial footwear customs of one regular drinker. Oh, he was also humming a tune and offering a bit of a wiggle while doing so. In short, and I do not think it is fair to comment on people's height, William is a blessing, a pearl in a bowl of tropical skies, iridescent from the brown seas below. Long Live William!

Visited a few times. It's an OK setting. But got a bit miffed as the drink I wanted wasn't to be served in a pint because It was a 'strong' beer at 8% I live in Belgium. 8% is on the low end of the scale for vast majority of beers I have drunk. They also spelt the names of the Belgian breweries wrong on the chalkboard. For the rest, great place if you want to sample something different.

Had a fantastic time, bar staff were all really lovely, friendly and positive. Special shout out to Sol who knew all his facts about the varied and interesting menu. Loved the place and the atmosphere. Sadly the manager Harry wasn’t especially welcoming, but you can’t have everything.

Excellent quality local and foreign (not just Belgian!) craft and traditional beers- draft, cask and some bottle/can options. Large range of great gins, small selection of cider. (There’re wine options, too but I’m not familiar w the list) Nice to have the nonalc choices too. Interesting and proficient staff! Have a few halves and a cup of beer sticks, and you may end up staying for a tasty toastie and a couple pints. Some games available. Accessible toilet with additional facilities downstairs.

Great town centre venue with a really wide range of beers, plus their own Tonbridge Copperknob, which is excellent. Music can be a little too loud at times, but otherwise a visit is recommended.

Dog friendly venue hence our reason for going while visiting this town. We had cheese toasties (Spicy devil and the Classic) and they were excellent- the menu was really limited, mainly to toasties so we had no expectations but they were truly delicious! Quirky venue with plenty of space.

Town centre craft beer pub with a huge choice of beers (lager, IPA, stout, ale etc) plus wines and spirits. We had 1x stout (Kernell brewery) and 1x gin (local) & tonic. Quiet - it was late on Bank Holiday, but comfortable bar with friendly attentive staff. Only negative for me was the music, but that's always subjective.

Great staff. Great beer. Great atmosphere. Only tip for one barman is: don't tell me a pint will be "expensive". If I've asked for a pint,I have the money for a pint.... 😉: EDIT: Explained by the owner below. And I wasn't having a go. It was funny to be warned. Was a great night :)
