Excellent service, and sandwiches! We had a catering order for a party, sandwiches all made fresh the morning required and even collected before opening. Lots of lovely comments and feedback on the quality and taste from our guests, especially the pulled pork and apple, delicious. If you need a sandwich lunch for an event, don't hesitate to use Aldo!

Lovely coffee, in a lovely town. Owner was a really friendly chap, our Dalmatian really enjoyed her complimentary sausage!

Enjoyed dinner as a couple. Warm and friendly welcome into an elegant stripped back Victorian dining room. Tables were well spaced and service was professional and relaxed. We decided on the tasting menu which was served in five courses. We chose white and red wines from a short but interesting and well balanced list. The first course of soused mussels was delicious - plump shellfish in a delicate dressing with small potatoes adding texture. Excellent with a South African Chenin Blanc. Next came a crunchy buttermilk chicken which also hit the mark and carried on the enjoyable experience. The cod dish which followed was okay but the bouillabaisse sauce seemed a little overpowering for the delicate well cooked fish while the small piece of octopus was a little chewy. The meat course was rump of hogget. For a tasting menu we thought the portion was a little large and the lamb needed more resting and the fat fully rendered. A single piece of lamb would have been enough and better sliced. A little disappointing following the excellent of the previous courses. Desert was poached rhubarb with chocolate and meringue - delightful! Despite one or two minor hitches we loved Tallow and would return at once. Our experience was 41/2 rather than 5 but easily rectified by a couple of cooking corrections. It’s a joy and we wish we lived closer!

Lovely place, great selection of beers on offer on cask, keg, and in the fridge, decent hotdogs and friendly staff. Can happily spend lots of time working your way through all they have available!

Just had lunch at the Black Horse. Absolutely mega. The seafood is genuinely top notch. If you're in the area and looking for a bite - 100% the place to go. We stopped in on a quiet Saturday, staff were lovely, pub was cosy, lovely garden area. But that food! Happy days.

Very slow to get a tea and latte around 15/20 minutes. Good value for money breakfast but eggs were like rubber and hash browns very greasy. Was busy and clearly popular but I wouldn’t rush back
