Went to Barrow in Furness on the Dave Day memorial ride on 8/6/2024, looking for something to eat and came across this place, really pleased we did, fish, chips and peas £6.50, huge piece of white flakey fish, chips done just right and mushy peas of the right consistency, sat in the cafe at the back, really friendly, smiley staff on probably their busiest day of the year so far, if you get to Barrow, really recommend them, won’t disappoint.

Day out from Stockport to Barrow-in-Furness by rail ... Was starving after a good walkabout in the excellent old town ... Stumbled across this chippy ... Sit down meal - Haddock - Chips and Mushy peas with a mug of tea ... Best scran in a long time .. Perfect batter on Haddock - Perfect chips Generous size fish with just the right amount of chips ... We went to this restaurant due to a best fish and chips review. They were spot on. Delicious. Light crispy coating, white flaky fish, chips had a soft pillowy potato center. Only 4.50 pounds. Limited seating, good for our needs.

Dad said he would buy lunch if I could find anywhere that serves pudding and chips… turns out this was across the road from where we were sitting! We were greeted by Ricky who was charming and welcoming. He was a chef and tour guide rolled into one! The food was well portioned and spot on. Chips were hit and well cooked… peas… well, there’s like them that I have ever tasted - totally unique and so moreish! We will travel 5 1/2 hours again just to visit Ricky and his chippy! Could not recommend more highly!

The fish was fresh and delicious according to the missus and kids. I had the S&K pie with chips and it was very tasty. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and let us know the way to the nearest beach, for the kids.

Visited Sea Breeze on a Saturday evening to buy fish and chips. The staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. They quickly set about freshly cooking our order (cod and chips twice and a portion of chips). The food was good, the service was efficient, the staff were friendly.

Ordered a few takeaways from Barrow Eats and this is my first choice for a fishy tea. Comes always nicely early, good portion size, not greasy and good value. Would have submitted a photo but had already polished it off !

Shocking customer service! Ordered a meal for the family as a treat through barrow eats over 60 mins ago and the transaction went through but when it had not arrived I checked and the sea breeze had cancelled the order without contacting us to explain. To late now to order from anywhere!

Again grateful for delivery in the current situation. Ordered via Barrow Eats App, simple process, came 20 mins before stated time, lovely fish, chips and peas but again one portion of chips was enough for the two of us. This chippy is always consistent and tasty.

Had a couple of takeaways from here now had to have haddock as always sold out of cod always on time and always hot will keep ordering and will recommend

Escogimos esto porque queríamos un pescado y papas fritas en la costa. No nos equivocamos. Tenían una comida fija de pescado, papas fritas y guisantes blandos para 5. No podría salir mal. Todo era fresco y sabroso. Sin embargo, el pescado era de un tamaño decente, ¡personalmente me hubiera gustado tener más papas fritas!La mujer que servía en la zona del café era genial. ¡Ella se rió y bromeó con nosotros mientras satisfacía nuestras muchas necesidades!Un gran almuerzo y muy recomendable si te apetece un pescado y patatas fritas!

Excellent fish & chips, either eat in or take away. Chips and fish always freshly cooked and great service. I have been a customer for years just sorry that I have never thought to review before.

All fish cooked fresh on your arrival. Option to sit in and eat also available. Peas, good, chips nice. The fish was definitely the highlight and at £5.90 these days great value, just look at chippy prices in other towns.

Fish and Chip shops are one of those funny things, you get very used to your local one and when you visit another it tastes very different! The staff here are absolutely lovely and very helpful. All of the food was good but to me it did have a slight strange after taste and was quite oily (but as I said this is probably just as I am used to my local - not from the area!) the curry sauce was excellent. I would recommend a visit as it is very good value for money as well.

Called in for F&C; whilst working in Barrow, what a pleasure to have a fresh piece of haddock cooked to perfection whilst you wait along with just enough crispy Chips to make a meal fit for a king!, could not fault it, give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Freshly prepared fish and chips that taste of real potatoes. What more could you want? Curry sauce comes in two strengths - mild and hot. Beware! Hot is really hot yet tasty. Definitely a good place to pick up a chip tea.

When visiting Safari zoo we occasionally stay at a local hotel in barrow, and we ALWAYS buy our food from here, fantastic food and good service, if you are in the area try this chippy, you will keep going back I'm sure

Ricky and his staff are so friendly! And the chips are totally amazing!! I have a wheat intolerance so I get my fish cooked without batter in the chip section.... perfect for me and what's even better, as soon as I'm spotted they ask me: 'Your usual'? Then put a fish in for me.Since we've discovered this place we've been regulars. Best chippy in the Barrow area (we live on Walney Island) and it's worth the extra traveling!!There's seating inside but we've yet to try that out.

This place for me is overlooked, I think they serve the best chips in town and are dependable when it comes to quality. The opening times are not the latest and we regularly aren't finished from work by the time it closes. Lovely chips though.Although I have never done so, you are able to eat in.

Just walked back from sea breeze probably the best fish and chips I've had in years,light batter ,red hot chips ,mushy peas for 2 with up of tea £12 In south where I live you'd pay that for 1 portion wife thinks it best she's had ever .

I called in with my wife, son and 4 year old niece. Everyone was delighted with their meal, especially my 4 year old niece who wanted a taste of everyone's meal. The meals were hot, tasty and of very good quality which you can't unfortunately say for a lot of restaurants these days. The staff were both welcoming and friendly even taking time to talk to their customers. I don't get to Barrow very often but if I go there again there will be no doubt I'll be getting a steak pudding and chips at the Sea Breeze.Thanks for a lovely meal.

My partner and I were staying in Barrow for a couple of nights with his two girls and decided to visit Sea Breeze as we all love a chippy and had read good things about this one. You can take away or have a seat at the back of the shop - basic but clean and with a reasonable choice on the menu. The chips were lovely, my hamburger was as good as any I've had from a chippy and the battered haddock was beautifully fried (if a bit small for my partner's appetite!) Great value for money and the couple working that night (the owners, I think) were very chatty and pleasant. Recommended if you're in the area.

My husband and I had fish chips and peas to eat in cafe area we had a chat with Ricky and Yvonne who we found very pleasant and had time to chat with us . We had our meal and it came fresh out of pan and they were delicious the. Batter was lovely and fluffy it was all cooked to perfection and the service was excellent . The whole cafe and shop itself was spotless we will certainly be goin again thanx Ricky and yvonne

I found this fish and chip shop/cafe on tripadvisor. While I normally don't post reviews, I make an exception for this type of place. This cafe brings back all the good memories of visiting very British cafes in the '80s with my parents: it is unpretentious: the workers will have a conversation with you, and neighbours pop their head in to say hello. A waitress will serve you. The food is reasonably priced, well-seasoned, compared to the many other chip shops I have been to countrywide, it comes at a temperature just right, and the quality of the raw materials is higher than many other places. Chips were chips, not crisps. Sausages didn't taste like they cost 5p to buy. The pies were tastier than the butcher's. My niece ate most of her meal and she normally leaves most chip shop/cafe meals. We have just ate at a local chippy and we are still talking about and lamenting not being able to readily get those at The Sea Breeze Fish Bar. I've eaten all over Britain. I've eaten all over China. This is simple food, but this is mighty good food. It's also at the end of the main shopping street, and quick to find. Nothing bad to say about this. Made my day.

I often get Fish Chips and Curry sauce from here, they are excellent..Well recommended,.Situated across from the rear Market entrance on Dalton Road, round the corner by the Bookies. If you haven't been before. You can even eat in, as there is a nice sit down area at the rear of the shop. Friendly, quick service, great value for money.They also have all the usual, battered Burgers "Oh Yes" sausage, massive chicken portions.. and so on.. go and give em a try you won't regret it.

It was about 7.00pm, my wife and I had just returned from Liverpool and were quite tired, we decided to collect two portions of fish and chips for about £9.00.We arrived home about 10 minutes later and didn't need to warm them up, the taste was really fantastic tasty and well cooked with hardly any oil. I would recommend this fish shop to anybody.

the food was of good standard but the portion size was seriously disappointing, we chose to eat in and the plates that came had about 10 chips on with the fish and peas, I thought when I ordered we should get the same as a take out size as the price was the same. I personally think that a restaurant should leave you satisfied so you think of returning, if this is standard practice at the sea breeze I wouldn't be surprised if the place had to shut down because everyone now goes elsewhere.

Ended up in Barrow by accident after a trip to the Lake District. I should pay a little more attention to hotels I book but the 45 minutes additional drive was actually quite nice. Got in at about 5pm and decided to find a good restaurant to make up for the extra time spent in the car. As it happens, the restaurats we found were, at best, adequate. So we decided to look for fish and chips. Logged onto Trip Advisor, found this place and decided to go for it. A little hesitant at first as the only open business was the chip shop and the area looked a little run down but hunger won out and we went inside. So glad we did. It's a lovely little chip shop with tables at the back. The owners were rather nice, but most importantly, the food was fantastic. Chips were chunky and some still had skin on (yum!) and the fish was a good sized fillet coated in a light batter. No oiliness, no extra charge for sauces. Just good, simple, unpretentious food. What more could you want? Cost was £5 per person, and considering the huge portions I thought that was more than reasonable.

My sister,I and our two families after searching all along the coast road for somewhere like a chip shop finally arrived in Barrow after our day out in the Lakes,asked a kindley bobby for the nearest, nice chippy. He directed us to the Sea Breeze Fish Bar and on entering, starving, we were greeted with smiles and . Kaz sat us down in the seating area and after we settled down took our order, ten of us rattled off our food desires chopping and changing one thing for another, she took it in her stride. Within 15 mins our food was served, piping hot! One of our party jokingly complaining under his breath that ' the girls got bigger fish than us lads', ' sexist that is' he carried on, laughing. Next thing Vonnie arrived with another lump of battered fish on a plate for us!! To be honest our visit to the Sea Breeze topped our day in the Lakes just great. Well done Kaz and Vonnie ( I asked thier names upon leaving for home) great service and a BIG thank you, next time we're in Barrow we will definately be revisiting you. Bob and all , Manchester.

Went to purchase tea, staff to busy talking and got our menu completely wrong. Contacted them via phone and they made me out to be a liar and when I returned the food accused us of eating half of it which I proved otherwise. Defo would not waste my time or money going again.

I absolutely adore Sea Breeze Fish Bar! It is so great that you can sit in and enjoy your fish and chips instead of having to bring them home and they all get cold! The service is really friendly and they're always happy to help. They also have a wide variety of food on their menu (not just fish and chips), such as sausage, haggis, pies, chicken etc. They also do kid's meals in boxes wirth toys and a drink. It is such a good atmosphere and the fish and chips are the most delicious I have ever tasted (and that's hard to compete with!) So if you're in the area, you must visit Sea Breeze Fish Bar!
