11 of us went for a family lunch. Very attentive young waiter. Food was delicious, plentiful and very good value for money. Will definitely return

Consistently good service and fabulous food. A regular place we visit for a piping hot and tasty Sunday Roast. They also welcome well behaved dogs, which means they get to come too. A great place to pop in after a nice walk. Will keep going back.

Went here for a date as I always remembered it being so good. Not many people eating for it being a Friday night. I got the fish and chips and my date got the steak, mushroom and black pudding pie. We waited quite a while for the food to come. The pie contained mostly black pudding and mushroom and the fish and chips was small for £15. Lovely place but the food didn't hit the spot.

We came for a weekend away for our anniversary and just googled somewhere to eat. It was far from where we were staying. Although small and old, the food was amazing ! The portions were big and everything was just so tasty. The seats in the place are not the best or comfiest as I had a bad back. But it’s dog friendly if you do have a dog. Our server was fantastic a young man (I didn’t manage to get his name) he was speedy, polite and very well mannered. To start we both had soup of the day which was carrot and coriander with a bread roll 8/10, my partner had the rump steak and went for the salt and pepper chips - I tried them and wow I’m not sure what the chef used but they were great ! The meat was clearly a local sourced cut and it was a nice cut and was cooked perfectly medium rare 9/10. I had the lasagne and garlic bread, it came loaded with cheese and was cooked brilliantly very tasty original recipe lasagne just like my Italian grandma used to make with the carrots etc. 9/10. For pudding my partner had the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which was massive 9/10, and I had the chocolate cake with pouring cream 9/10 the chocolate cake could’ve been bigger. Then we had a latte to finish very strong coffee 10/10. All of the food came piping hot and exceeded our expectation. The food was fantastic, service was great as mentioned the place is somewhat plain and chairs not the best but we didn’t mind as the food really spoke for itself. Parking is a little difficult and you have to park on the road. There are 2-3 steps walking into the pub incase you have mobility issues. There is also a male and female toilet but I did not see a disabled toilet. Definitely would recommend for all of this and two lemonades it was £75

When out with family. Service a bit slow poor lass runnig ragged . Food was beautiful and not over price x i would recommended given it a try. I had the chicken and blackpudding stack wich came with a beautiful creamy sauce think hits off tarrgon in there with white wine. Taste beautiful. Son in had mix grill he was really please with his nother memembet had fish and chips some had stir fries and grandaughter who is a pain with her food told the young lady how she wanted on her plate being meat on plate chipd separate she had the gammon. So eggs and trimmings on a separate plate. Which pleased my grandaughter. Will recommend to people x

Haven't been for a while..but food is excellent as ever. Although Hunters Cumberland is off the menu, they were happy to do one for me and it was good, no, it was superb as ever. My friend Bernie, had Lamb Chops and she was more than happy with her meal. Will be returning very soon.

An expensive but awful meal. A waitress who doesn't listen to what you ask for, she came to take our drinks order which was half a lager shandy and half a coke (no ice). Returned with a pint of each and ice in the coke, when I pointed out I had requested no ice her reply was, 'well I didn't pour it'. Ordered a burger stack £14 and a chicken fillet burger £13, both were awful and definitely mass produced rubbish. Will never go back to this place again!!

Nice little country pub. Booked for a group of seven and the staff were more than accommodating, including a group member's serious allergies, making them feel safe dining with them, which can't be said for a lot of places. The menu is fairly extensive for the size of the place and whilst everyone enjoyed their starters and mains, the speed of the service (very quick) made us wonder whether the food was completely freshly scratch made - it was a very quiet Thursday evening. Nonetheless, whilst not overly cheap, for the quality of the food, it was reasonable and would definitely recommend. We would certainly return in the future.

Beautiful food! I couldn't turn down the donut burger- a cheeseburger but instead of a bun it's sandwiched between 2 glazed donuts. It just sounded too crazy to not go for and I'm so glad I did. It was incredible, the most beautiful blend of sweet and salty. It's been over a week and I'm still craving another! My husband had the black pudding and chicken stack which he said was delicious, and they had a lovely real ale on which was the first we'd found after 2 days in Barrow-in-Furness!!

Walked 3 miles to go for lunch, on arrival it was shut website stated it was open 2 other customers walked away all very disappointed that they had not put on the website or the door that they would not be opening on Thursday's shocking behaviour of any business will not be going again.

Food gone down hill, smaller, more expensive a lot of regulars no longer go, its rented not owned as he says, still the same local drink drivers going to the other pub in the car

A lovely place for a family celebration. Plenty of space at the table and good choice on the menu. Choice of larger and smaller meals. Food was all delicious and staff were friendly and helpful.

Had the most fantastic experience at the Village Inn. Last minute decision to go out for a meal and we certainly weren't disappointed. From the moment we walked in, the staff, especially Danielle, gave 101% attention to each customer. The place was spotless. The lighting and low music was perfect. The menu had so many choices and I opted for the trio of lamb chops, my friend 16 oz rump steak. Freshly cooked and by the time we ordered drinks, the meal was served not long after. . I didn't have the usual thought of, hurry up I'm starving. I was surprised at the value of the meal, the quality was first class. Definately recommend the Village Inn.

Quite a lot of choice on the menu. Ordered the mini mixed grill. Lots of meat, but steak was a bit tough and not very tasty. Waited quite a long time for food to be delivered. Staff were very friendly.

Found this pub/restaurant by chance. We had a drink and decided to have food there that night, got to say the food was outstanding and value for money. The staff were excellent. Will definitely go back when I visit this lovely part off the world.

Unfortunately the quality of the cooking has dropped at the same time as the portions have got smaller and the prices have increased, a lot of the regulars no longer use the Village Inn since it has been taken over by a kitchen porter who is now calling himself a chef, I no longer go in, the regular local drink drivers still pop in before driving to the pub at the other end of the village

The food was fantastic all 4 of us had different meals and there were no complaints the portions were large The staff were great good service and polite It was really good value and we all said we would go again Highly recommended

We needed to eat after a 5 hour drive and called in to this wonderfully welcoming pub on a Friday night. The 8 oz rump steaks were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I would recommend the salt and pepper chips! Thank you. We will be back :-)

We found the Village Inn while stopping nearby. There was 20 of us and all the staff couldn't do enough for us. The staff and food was fantastic. Thank you for making our first night in Dalton in Furness a success.

Bizarre night really, drinks on offer limited, no Smirnoff ice/Bacardi, ordered orange wkd received pint of orange! Asked us if we were ready to order food, after deciding from the menu we were told it wasn’t available, not being informed before ordering , young waiter/server got the feeling he didn’t really know what he was doing! Felt like they were waiting for us to leave as we were the only ones left (9pm) and they kept looking over at us, food was ok, wouldn’t rush back

Visited whilst in Barrow in Furness for the weekend absolutely fantastic food great service the salt n pepper chips ate a must best I've tasted enjoyed the food we went back for the Sunday roast day after was not disappointed would definitely recommend a visit and will return next time we're passing.

A family member rcommended this pub for food so we thought we would give it a try. The pub was welcoming and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. What can I say about the food...Well..hot fresh and good portions and selections. They also have a a smaller portion selection for the elderly or people will smaller appetite. The prices are more than reasonable and we will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this pub for a meal or just a nice relaxing drink. Thank you.

Clean tidy restaurant. Toilets very clean although 1 cubicle was blocked. Starters came really quickly but waited nearly an hour for main course which was quite tasty although the parsnips and roast potatoes where very over done

Found this pub restaurant at the last moment for dinner and it was spot on. The pub is located just 3 miles off Barrow-in-Furness in a quite village with good ambience. The pub is welcoming and the food is awesome. Made fresh from the order and it is made to order and right quantity to fill apatite. Would recommend strongly for a good evening dinner with family and you won't be disappointed.
