Beautiful pub , I was in a year or so a go and the pool team playing were so funny. There was a man called David who at first appeared very weird but once got speaking he was a very interesting man. Kind and friendly pub which nice food.

Awful female owner who is nasty to staff and insulted my wife, won’t be returning and will be telling other people the same. If you want to stay in business maybe learn some good customer service skills or compassion??

Come for the chips alone!! Off the beaten track, small, local pub with a very warm welcome, some great local beers and outstanding food. The standard of cooking was excellent and the portion sizes were very generous. Everything was very tasty, with really nice quality ingredients, but the star of the show were the chips... exactly like your mum used to make. Highly recommended if you're in the area. You can book ahead to avoid disappointment.

A very small rural pub. It's not a tourist pub, but the welcome is warm. The opening hours are not regular. When they are open, the open at 5.30pm until late. They do open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and maybe one or two others during the week.

Called here on a Thursday evening, what a great meal we had. Superb choices of food and great vegetarian choices. Fish and Chips and a Vegetarian Brie and nut pie, both meals were absolutely lovely, so tasty and fresh. We shared a nice bottle of wine. The landlord and landlady were attentive and friendly

We were staying on the High Hall Farm campsite and wanted to sample some local food and atmosphere. We decide to go to the Blue Bell Inn. Food was fantastic and we loved the portions sizes. Proper home made food, delicious. We also enjoyed a game of pool which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Malcolm and Jane provide the perfect environment for a family gathering or an intimate meal for two. The premises are COVID secure and the service is second to none. The food is of the highest quality and great value. Jane is an excellent chef. Malcolm mans the bar and is the perfect host making you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. I cannot recommend their establishment highly enough.

We were on our way to Robin Hoods Bay with some Australian visitors and decided to pop into Malton for a light lunch as we had booked an evening meal at our destination. We went into the Blue Bell Inn and asked about food. We were told they were serving food, then we were told its was only Sunday lunch. We saw the menu which said how much starters were and mains etc, so we thought we would all just have a starter each and a few drinks. We were told very rudely and abruptly that this wasn't possible - starters had to be followed by a mains! Needless to say we didn't stay. Such a shame that an ignorant bar person is happy to turn away business! Their loss.

Lost count of how many times I have visited the Blue Bell since discovering it in 2004. Excellent food and atmosphere on Thursday night when me and my son were stopping nearby for the night on the way back from Ireland. For followers of cycling the Tour of Britain (Stage 5) will be passing by on September 10th and the Blue Bell would be an excellent vantage point to eat, drink and enjoy the cycling.

I first came across this pub when I stayed in the area in 2003 and I have been going back every year since. The food is home cooked and has been consistently good in all my years of going. One year there was crocodile steak on the specials (never tried that!). Malcolm and Jane are the the perfect hosts, in what is a small, homely and welcoming village pub.

Have been here many times, always excellent food, will ensure I get gluten free and will adapt menu's where possible. Old fashioned pub, not many left, and a good pint so my husband says. We have always enjoyed our meals, and the salads are wonderful, with fresh fruit in too. Large portions, well worth a visit.

Superb food and service, I did say to the chap it was the best tuna/mayo baguette I have had and I've around for a few years. My good lady said the same about the bacon and brie baguette. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Also seems a local favourite. A gem. 👍👍👍
