Pefection. Venue = Stunning, team = brilliant, food = amazing, Value = outstanding. We visited back in October with a view to book our Christmas party in December. Mark and Jackie were more than accommodating with our questions and requests. fast forward to the evening in question and it couldnt have gone more perfect had we tried. the venue easily hosted 50 of us for reception drinks. move through to the gorgeous conservatory for the meal which I might add is michalin type food. the staff were attentive and polite, also adding a little fun to the evening. after dinner we enjoyed a disco in the second room, with ample room and despite what looks like a small bar, no one was waiting to be served. Mark, Jackie and team you made our evening super special. you have a perfect venue for Birthdays, christmas partys and weddings. we look forward to using your venue again.

A beautiful spot for a intimate wedding with immaculate kept grounds, delicious food and drink all served at a reasonable price. Jacqueline was fantastic at organising and kept it running smoothly despite an incident we had. Would highly recommend for weddings, functions or just for dinner and drinks

Our daughter’s wedding was here. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The setting is amazing with a moat with ducks. Lots of garden space to sit in. Marc’s food was just the best and Jackie’s skills as an MC from years of experience kept everything together. We had the best day

We had our wedding reception here on Saturday (02 July). This was the most amazing wedding reception venue! It was absolutely beautiful! The owners Mark and Jacqui were remarkable, they were accommodating, made our day extra special and went out of there way to help us out in every way they could (even lending me safety pins to pin my heavy dress up aha). The food was delicious and presented perfectly! All the other staff was very kind and helpful. There was a good wide range selection of drinks at the bar in the evening and was good prices. We couldn’t fault the owners or venue in any way at all. would highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married! We want to thank Mark and Jacqui for making our day extra special

We were blessed with a magical venue, just lovely weather, wonderful guests, a brilliant quartet but Jacqui and Mark pulled out all the stops to make our wedding day very special - beyond measure - Thank-you Mark and Jacqui, nothing was too much trouble. It all came together with expert timing, lovely food and a professional attitude; it couldn't have been bettered.

About 80 of us for a celebratory Gala Dinner. Food was beautiful as usual. Front of house first class. We were lucky to have a hot summers day so drinks service in demand and was perfect. Our entertainers were fed and accommodated without fuss. All round top class venue.

Fantastic venue for our son & now daughter-in-law’s wedding. Setting is so pretty, the staff so friendly & helpful, nothing too much trouble (especially as most of us had forgotten our menu choices made 6 months ago!). The food was gorgeous (I had bacon & Brie salad, followed by the salmon - particularly delicious then profiteroles. Sadly I had to leave before the evening buffet but was told by all my 3 sons (all over 6’ and good eaters) that it was even more delicious and they would have had more if weren’t so full from the lunch! So, thank you to all in making Ben & Emma’s day so special for them & we hope to be back for a family meal soon. Sally

We are always looking for somewhere new to eat and are delighted to add this one to our list. The property shows on television always talk about 'kerb appeal' and Moreteyne Manor has it in spades. The attractive exterior was matched by the interior with character and comfort in equal measure. The food was fine dining standard without the price tag, and had a menu which we could have chosen many things from. Eventually, my wife decided on the wild mushrooms in filo pastry and fillet steak with brandy and mustard sauce; whilst I chose devilled kidneys followed by duck with cherry and pepper sauce. My wife's steak was cooked exactly as ordered - seems simple but so many places get this wrong. My duck was properly cooked, which I like, but some Masterchef viewers may have wanted it rarer. The flavours were outstanding across the board and we couldn't fault anything.

After having our previous wedding venue cancel on us, we made the decision to book Moreteyne Manor for our ceremony and reception. We were very glad we did. Venue: The venue itself is stunning, particularly the outside areas which offered some excellent photo opportunities. Furthermore the venue are happy to facilitate garden games in the lawn area which the guests enjoyed. I would recommend going with the marque, this offers a elegant, spacious area for the reception and includes a dance floor area. Food: The food is outstanding and at very reasonable price. There was lots of options to choose from, it was quite difficult as so much looked good. One of our guests has a serious allergy, the venue went above and beyond to make them feel happy and comfortable with their meal. Service: The service was very good on the day. The day ran very smoothly and staff where friendly and welcoming. Owners were helpful during the planning process, particularly in the final week prior to the wedding. In addition, they helped my elderly, ill nan feel welcome and made sure she was comfortable on the day. Overall: - stunning venue and outside areas - outstanding food - very reasonable price - owners Friendly and organised.

I had my wedding reception here yesterday and I can honestly say it was the best day of my life the owners where so helpful from start to finish staff were also so nice and polite i couldn't of asked for anything more. They went up and beyond for us and nothing was a problem highly recommended them.

Such a lovely place very welcoming Menu was fabulous and food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious, Service was excellent a staff very friendly and attentative.

We came here for our neices wedding and it was a wonderful day. It is very easy on the eye the marque was well decorated. Food was very nice and the staff were very professional and friendly. We would recomend this venue. Only reason it did not get full marks is the astronomical drinks prices. No baby changing area and i never saw a disabled wc.

Sometime since we last visited but after such an exceptional meal wondered why we left it so long. Not only could I not fault any part of the experience couldn't even suggest how it could be made better. Well done to all.

We married here in September 2018. The whole day was superb. Romantic venue. Private. Unbelievable food. Faultless service. Everything went like clockwork. Returned Valentine’s Day for a romantic meal. Quality food. Again amazing welcome and service second to none. We love the manor.

My husband and I got married here in June 2017, we had an absolutely perfect day and many of our guests also said that it was one of the best weddings they had been to. Jacqui was a wonderful host and helped us to make sure the day flowed seamlessly and Mark prepared an excellent meal including catering for a vegetarian coeliac!The lay out of the venue is great for its purpose and made great use of the outdoors for our summer wedding. Overall a great venue in a lovely setting.

Went there with friends for an evening meal and it was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the whole meal was lovely. It was a bit on the pricey side but you only get what you pay for!

A big lunch party.Three hot dishes and a cheeseboard - excellent. Didn't try the wine as I was driving, but the general opinion was good. Unfortunately the coffee was exceptionally weak and watery.Friendly staff.Beautiful old building - pond outside with ducks and geese

Attended here as a wedding guest.Very rude owner who was heard to be slating the brides choice of venue decoration.Extremely overpriced drinks, £4 for coke out of a warm bottle is ridiculous.Owner rude and stand offish to members of bridal party and other guests.I had my 5 year old who was playing with another child, running about playing tag and the owner was seem to be glaring at them and appeared very suspicious, not very child friendly considering it’s a wedding!Would certainly not recommend for a wedding venue

Came here for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having got married at Moreteyne a year before. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and fantastic friendly service. No trouble at all to amend food orders based on personal preference. The food was absolutely amazing! So tasty and filling! Would highly recommend Moreteyne Manor for a romantic meal one evening. To top it off, the surroundings are beautiful, especially on a sunny evening.

Jacqui and Mark assisted us with planning a wedding whilst my Husband and I were living in the USA. I returned a month before our wedding date and everything was just as we had discussed in various emails from abroad. All we had to do was finalize things and I can’t believe how easy this was!

Had the pleasure to attend a private function at Moreteyne Manor - the manor & grounds are stunning.. The evening was fantastic from start to finish. This was exceptionally good for the wedding in early December. The Owner was helpful, frank and pleasant. The venue was really very pleasant and, probably one of the best things was the food. Perhaps the Duck was a little tough but everything else was excellent and good size portions. Strongly recommended.

My husband and I recently got married and had our wedding reception here at Moreteyne Manor. We were absolutely blown away, not just by the beauty and good value of the venue, but also by the highest quality of service. Regarding the food, we were inundated with compliments for the chef. The lamb dish we had, which came with a delicious array of seasonal vegetables, was simply divine and melted in the mouth. Jacqui and Mark also catered effortlessly for our vegan and veggie friends - who where delighted and amazed with the calibre of culinary skill and imagination presented to them.

Me and my husband were looking for a 'rustic feel' wedding, we had read previous reviews and decided to book Moreteyne Manor based on already great reviews. I cannot explain to you how brilliant our wedding was thanks to the venue. They have such a laid back yet professional family feel to their weddings, not corporate at all! I felt such at ease whilst planning my wedding and I do think that this was mainly due to the venue.

Superb meal imaginatively thought out and well cooked.Building is an Elizabethan,(Elizabeth the first), Manor House with traditional updated comfortable interior. The traditional atmosphere was enhance by the seclusion of being in a moated Manor House with centuries of history.

We recently held our wedding at Moreteyne Manor (ceremony and reception) and couldn't have asked for a better day. The venue is stunning and catered for all our guests needs, young and old and the food was delicious.The owners were great from the very first viewing 9 months before until the end of the reception and the staff all day were very welcoming and friendly.Thank you so much, we had some very nice feedback from our guests and will definitely recommend.

Attended a wedding despite the rain the setting was wonderful and the building was stunning, it's just a great shame and pity that the owner and her extremely rude staff let it down. When making a complaint to the owner regarding her rude staff I was spoken to in the most unprofessional manner. If I was choosing a wedding venue sadly this is one I would avoid purely based on the bad experience by the staff and owner. Other guests had a bad experience on the day including the Bride and Groom! Very disappointing.

We visited with our two children as part of a wedding and we felt on edge the entire afternoon and evening. They were treated with suspicion and it was as if they were in the way the entire day. There were no friendly gestures by the staff towards the children. Food was ok, service was efficient but lacked any charisma. We would recommend for anyone with children.

We visited with a few members of close family to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. The location is stunning, the people really friendly and helpful - they couldn't do enough for us and the food to die for. An excellent experience all round and one that we will most probably repeat. Our second major celebration at this beautiful moated manor house. Thirty friends and family enjoyed a magnificent lunch, beautifully presented with first class service. The assiette of desserts was to die for! We will no doubt be back.

Awful experience. Avoid. This was very unfriendly treatment by the owners at our wedding there. Children were treated with suspicion and we felt so unwelcome that we left the venue and enjoyed the rest of the eve in the local pub. The food was great... lovely venue... not for us though.

Booked there for our dinner party. Dealing with Mark prior to the event was really easy. On the day, Jackie made us feel very welcome. The staff is great, the food is really good and prices are very competitive. Definitely a place to go.Thank you very much for all your help on the day.

6 of us went to Moreteyne Manor last night. We were treated like royalty. The staff were attentive but left us alone to have a giggle. The food was amazing. We we stuffed but it kept coming. I had the black cod and it was moist and very tasty. Others had steak and it was cooked to perfection. A wonderful night and so reasonable.Thank you!

Lovely building in village. We visited here for Sunday lunch. We all enjoyed our food. Service was good.Would visit again

My niece held her wedding there recently and we can't fault this venue.The food was terrific, the hosts most genial and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Despite the torrential rain even the outside area was used and all who attended had a great time.I suspect the restaurant is first-class based on the food we ate.

We visited for a special anniversary and we were not disappointed.Wonderful environment, excellent food and wine with attentive service.Thoroughly recommend for that special or romantic occasion.

Moreteyne Manor was the perfect venue for our wedding. The owners, Mark and Jacqui couldn't have been more helpful, friendly yet professional throughout the initial booking, subsequent meetings and the wedding itself. We got married in one of the beautiful rooms in the manor, followed by Pimms in the gardens then a meal and disco in the marquee. They allowed us to decorate the marquee to our own theme and choose a menu that suited us, our guests and our budget. We felt we were working together throughout the whole process. The food was excellent and Mark catered for different food allergies and preferences. The manor is personal and secluded which suited exactly what we wanted. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Moreteyne Manor as a perfect wedding or party venue.

Our son and daughter in law held their wedding reception at the manor last weekend. The venue is absolutely stunning, the food was beautiful and plenty of it, the service timely and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Having the whole venue to ourselves was very special and allowed guests to use all the rooms where there were plenty of seating areas inside and out.A special day made perfect by the beautiful setting and dedicated staff.Thank you all at the manor we were so impressed with every one of you.

Great setting for a wedding or special event I should know been many times as live next door.Very good food and nice surroundings, there is a lot of charm at the manor, with a mote and plenty of ducks.

We have been to Moreteyne Manor many times with our young daughter and son, and never failed to be more than impressed with the quality of food and the outstanding level of service.Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, The ambience and character of the Manor starts as you park your car and walk across the moat to a beautifully lit 16th Century Manor House nestled in its own grounds.You are greeted at the door, invited to take a seat where you can peruse the menu whilst eating some complimentary canapés. Once you have chosen you continue to relax until your food is nearly ready. You are then invited to take a seat in the main restaurant.The food that is served here is hard to beat, we have tried many things on the menu and never been disappointed, the fresh and tasty food is of such a high standard I struggle to think you would find better in the area and good value too.I would highly recommend a meal here.

Went to check out the venue for our son's wedding which is later in the year. Very reassured, the venue is beautiful and the staff very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent and service was timely in its arrival. Looking forward to the big day now!

Really enjoyed our evening in lovely surroundings. Presentation of food was excellent along with flavours to match. Great value for money given the setting and the quality of ingredients. Enjoyed a nice bottle of Shiraz, but I do feel the wine list could be a little more imaginative for such great food.

We had our wedding at the Manor and what a most beautiful day it was in every way! the sun shone and everything was perfect! The food was outstanding and everyone sends their compliments to the chef (Mark) Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day with sun, wine and outside acoustic guitar til early evening then inside and onto the disco! Both Jacqui and Mark were excellent hosts, and their waiting on staff professional, friendly and helpful. We have just had the most amazing day of our lives with friends and family ...our wedding day. Held at Moreteyne Manor. We cannot express how wonderful the day was organised by Mark and Jacky Hickman. From start to finish the food, the setting, the service the hosting and the organisation was second to none. Jacky and Mark made it truly magical with their superb hosting skills, they did not miss a beat. The food was sensational and the service was that good that you didnt notice it because you never had to ask for anything, our glasses were never empty and they supported us and guided us on everything during the day. We cannot thank them enough. All our guests felt exactly the same they accommodated everyones individual needs. We would highly recommend this venue for any type of event. AMAZING

Super Valentine's supper at the Manor last night. The weather was absolutely shocking but a warm welcome awaited us with wood burners glowing. We chose our food over a complementary glass of Kir Royale, chatted and relaxed on the sofas in the pleasant ambience of the reception area. The building is full of charm and character. Not long before we were shown to our table which had been nicely decorated with rose petals. A delicious 5 course meal then followed. Freshly cooked, piping hot, generous portions, tasty and with excellent service. The wine (Malbec) was really fragrant, full bodied and fruity. Coffee was served with a selection of mints, chocolates and biscuits. All in all a wonderful and enjoyable evening.This was our first visit to the Manor but it definitely won't be our last!

For the umpteenth year running we held our annual windsurfing cub dinner at Moreteyne Manor last night. Each year they just get better. 50 people is a comfortable fit in their main conservatory, with pre-dinner drinks at the bar.Mark and his team are helpful and efficient and served 141 servings with no error.... Everyone was happy !We've looked elsewhere and just can't find anything that offers the same... so we keep coming back.Highly recommended.

As a guest at a special birthday event here I was really impressed with everything about this delightful historical place. The location is lovely. The history of the place is retained by the owners and you really feel you are going back in time. The food however was bang up to date; the service excellent. We all had a great dinner. For a special meal look no further. Thanks to the staff; compliments to the chef. Great!!

We got married at Moreteyne Manor back in 2008 and I have visited there many times since. It is in a beautiful setting and has a really personal feel. The food is excellent and the service is great, they are particularly experienced at handling large parties. I would highly recommend the venue for private functions.

The venue is lovely, truly beautiful and owned by two passionate individuals who were more than welcoming. However...it just didn't hit the spot! The food at 2 courses for £20 was excellent value for money (although the rib eye a bit fatty...but that goes with the meat!). The vegetables were cooked perfectly and there was a good variety. Although I think veg should be left on the table as I would've had plenty more red cabbage! The sauce with the steak was good but the starter of crab (which was supposed to be curried) wasn't quite right, it needed a kick. We enjoyed our visit but wouldn't rush to go back... it was just missing something! I'm still giving it a "Very Good" rating, as perhaps it just wasn't our thing. The other guests there seemed to be having a great time - so don't let my review deter you.P.S - Just a side note, having to take bread by hand from a basket isn't great - I think a pair of tongs may be better for future customers - Hygiene and service wise. I found this a little odd.

A hidden Gem in Bedfordshire. Lovely venue, great Ambience and fab food. Will def go again. Great menu choice and not overpriced

This restaurant is one of Bedford's hidden gems. Tucked away off the main road in Marston this old manor house is set inside a moated area. Authentic charms await inside with a comfortable bar area to relax in prior to going into the restaurant area.The food is the best you will in the area with fresh produce and an innovative menu. We have been a number of timers and cannot believe that nobody has reviewed the place. This is you more traditional up market restaurant and ideal for those special occasions. Highly recommended!!
