Lovely cafe just off the canal. Perfect place to stop for tea and cake whilst out on walk.

I popped in for a takeaway to take on my walk. Lovely service and sausage roll was delicious. The seating areas were very homely and the toilets neat tidy and clean. 😊

Called in here yesterday as our car broke down and to call the AA the girls were fantastic and let us use their phone as my mobile had no signal. Lifesavers! Lovely place as well with great coffee. Thanks again.

Lovely hot drinks, cappuccino and hot chocolate was great with dark chocolate on the top! Inside was quirky and nice. Staff were friendly. Toilets were clean. It does get pretty busy inside as it is a pretty small place. They serve a variety of breakfast items. Plenty of parking

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this cafe. When we arrived there was only one table available which said reserved on, then we were greeted by a member of staff and told to sit on that table as it was reserved for their staff to have lunch on, which i thought was kind of them. The food and drinks were nice, especially the hot chocolate on a wet and cold day. Parking available and lovely decoration.

This is a great place for both pit stops on journeys off the highway/motorway and ad a base for walking on the canal. Interesting and thoughtful menu with new additions all the time.

Great little coffee house along the Stropshire Union Canal. We moored and enjoyed some homemade scones and pretty good coffee. Great hospitality and I was impressed with the woman’s bathroom and the woman supplies they had provided if needed - very thoughtful. Definitely worth visiting

Excellent sausage bap on granary bread. Tasty sausage. Choice of sauce. Friendly, helpful, cheery staff. Pet dogs made very welcome. Cheese scones also v good.

A wonderful place to have food and drinks.. Had the full breakfast and it was fantastic .. Definitely value for money and highly recommend .. Staff were very helpful and super friendly

This is a quirky little coffee house in a great location for heading to the M6. The food was excellent and we had great service. Exceptionally clean and good facilities. It is extremely dog friendly.

Terrible service the chef was very rude when asked very simple questions she spoke to her young employees in an extremely condescending manor, ordered an ice coffee which was terrible and took 20 minutes to make… definitely would not recommend given the experience I had.

Tasty coffee and cakes. Inside is beautifully decorated and outside has lovely view across a marsh towards Beeston Lock. Car park available.

I stopped for food and to figure an alternative route to Whitchurch as the A49 was closed. Freya and I presume the other lady must have been the owner Laura were so cheerful and helpful. My lunch was delicious and the coffee was also excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing and quirky. I went on my way following their instructions across the countryside through lovely little villages I would not have seen otherwise. I highly recommend them and will certainly make a point of stopping there they next time I am travelling that way.

Stopped twice whilst on a barge holiday because the first time was so good. Great breakfast, delicious Eccles cakes and millionaire shortbread, enormous vanilla danish and the best hot chocolate outside of Belgium.

A lovely little place sandwiched between the railway and the canal. It was nice to watch the trains and the narrow boats passing through the locks. The food was excellent and service to match. The interior of the cafe was really well done, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

I met a couple of friends here for lunch yesterday. Lovely place, lovely food but on the way out I bought a can Diet Coke for the car journey home and it was £2.90, which seems extortionate!

Service staff were lovely. Coffee great. Owner / manger rather sour. We felt unwelcomed and would think twice about returning.

What an amazing find this little cafe or coffee house it was on our way to Peckforten Castle. The food and service was fantastic with nothing too much trouble. Adjacent to the canal towpath was a great place to be so we decided to walk as far as we could. The coffee house seems to attract cyclists as there were several of them having lunch when we were there. Top marks from us.

Called in as just passing by. Great service. Nice outside area although not much to actually look at. Nice tea. Lovely lemon drizzle cake. Slightly dodgy exit onto the road, not great visibility, glad it was a quiet day.

My first visit, but won't be my last. Just happened to pass it and called in. I had the best Goats Cheese and Beetroot Salad and the coffee was nice too. It's a busy little cafe, I just wish it was closer to where I live. They even gave my dog a few treats too!😊

Paid a disposit of £20 for afternoon tea as advertised on there Web site, went to pay for the 2nd person so should had been another £20 to pay, they asked for £24 as the price on the Web site was wrong. They should had honoured the £40. Would not recommend this place.

Lovely team members but shocking service and coffee wasn't great considering it's a coffee house, 20 min wait for a take out coffee and sausage roll. Heard another customer say she had waited 45 mins for soup which was cold in the middle. Main disappointment was the coffee which was luke warm and weak, by the time I'd realised this I was on my way in the car and didn't have it in me to go back and wait! I don't think it's worth the money I paid, it was £9 for a horrible coffee and sausage roll (which was tasty).

Expensive by comparison to others particularly when adding extras e.g. mushrooms. Quality of ingredients are fine and breakfast was cooked well . Environment was good, clean and quirky Access and Exiting the car park (which is free) is dangerous with blind bends , particularly when turning right into the car park and exiting right when leaving . On balance not great value

Very rude staff. Told us she had no food left, even though it was an hour off closing. Looked at me like it was my fault. Not made to feel welcome at all. The location is nice and menu actually looks ok, but that’s if they ever have food in! Got a drink which was just ok.

Called into this lovely little coffee shop on Sunday. Was really amazed with it, lovely coffee and carrot cake (all home made I was assured!!) staff were extremely nice and helpful- will definitely be calling back there!! 👍👍

Lovely place for breakfast/lunch, nice decor and very friendly staff! Only downside for colder months is that tables are quite close together so feels small but in the summer when you can sit on the decking and look out to the canal it will be gorgeous!

Family day out to Beeston. The weather was a little chilly so decided to see what’s close by rather than sitting on an outdoor bench. Everything was great, the food is a sorry sight for those with dairy intolerances because I wanted everything. However, everyone loved everything and more than catered for the likes of me. Would definitely come back, even if it’s just popping in for a cake or sausage roll

Ridiculously priced! Seriously .. 2 bacon baps and a cup of tea £20.40p,im no mean diner as we go all over the country to some fine places,but this was totally absurd!! As usual 2 young staff sat on mobile phones which the customer has to pay for so clearly the prices reflect this also.Dont pay it,go elsewhere as i work hard for my money and you probably do too!

Spotted this wonderful café here on Google maps and having ready the reviews decided to stop for lunch today on our journey from Glasgow to Shropshire. My wife and I shared the Farmers Platter and it was everything we expected and more. Generous portions with a variety of great flavours.

Had a lovely caramel iced coffee and some lunch of a very tasty salmon quiche. Really lovely atmosphere and a great outdoor area. My dog was also very happy meeting the staff and having a puppacinno

Lovely little find earlier this year on a walk so made sure we came back. A good 4 mile walk to get a nice coffee and scone. Only just made it before they closed but we'll worth the 8 mile round trip.

Would be good to have a few more veggie/vegan options on the luncheon menu. Atmosphere would be improved without the niche-style music. Maybe okay for the evening bit too intrusive for daytime. Overall a very clean , comfy and nicely run café.

Booked an afternoon tea for my Wife's 50th birthday with a few extras, the food and the service was fabulous, can't thank all the staff enough and we look forward to returning soon.

Stopped off on my canal walk from Chester to Nantwich. Perfect for a pastry & hot pot of tea. Thank you for great service, clean toilets, & being friendly.

I Visited this place twice. Once on the way to Shrewsbury for a quick coffee. Loved the vibe and look of the food so stopped for breakfast. It was very nice and they are very popular with dogs.

From the moment we stepped into the door we were made to feel unwelcome by the staff. When we asked if there was a menu we were shrugged in the direction of a hidden stack of them. The food and drinks were decent, but all 4 of us were very unimpressed by the front of house service.

A wonderful accidental find and very highly recommended. A lovely, warm, quirky and welcoming establishment. Very helpful and friendly staff provide great service. The food and drink was very good too and I will definitely be visiting again. So refreshing to find such a rare gem after enduring the mediocrity of endless Costa Coffee and Starbucks. Wow what a find! We were leaving Wrenbury nearby after a weekend away and looking for somewhere to have some breakfast before setting off and we just happened come across this gem! I ordered the full English and my partner had a bacon sandwich which were both excellent but we also took away one of their chocolate covered croissants, the best croissant I’ve ever eaten, and a sausage roll the size of a beef wellington! Honestly this place is a must try if in the area it was incredible

During a day out at Beeston Castle 🏰 we popped into the Lockgate coffee house as it was very close by. It was a morning visit for a coffee ☕️ hot chocolate and a pot of tea. Upon entering, the surroundings are lovely and a little quirky, I'd say. The staff are very friendly and our orders were taken promptly. The beverages ☕️ we ordered came pretty quickly and they were of good quality and a very reasonable price. 👌🏿 Overall, we enjoyed our coffee and tea stop, and i would definitely visit again. Maybe I'd try some food on the next visit. I'd highly recommend this independent coffee house . There are toilets 🚻 and the place is dog 🐕 friendly with outside seating areas outside.

Stopped here twice whilst passing on a narrowboat. The location didn't look promising and the building is a bit shed like, but tidy. Once inside, it's a gem - good food and drink, great range to suit adults and kids. Friendly and helpful staff and in a thoughtful and attractive decor.
