Cocktail menu is extensive and they are delectable. I had the spicy margarita and the clarified pina coloda, thoroughly enjoyed both. Also enjoyed the banana/rum cocktail the server suggested, however I was away with the faeries by this point so can’t recall the name.

A busy city centre coffee destination during a period of Christmas activity. It was busy and many tables were not available because they had not been cleared. The staff were also busy with one server making drinks and serving leading to a longer than normal wait. The second server seemed consumed with the dishwasher, trying to feed the demand for cups. An extra pair of hands would solve this issue and someone clearing tables regularly would help in getting customers to move on and give up tables for others. A lot of people looked like they had been there a long time and not purchased much... I have used this venue before and also felt that table clearing was poor and that leads to a general feeling that the cleanliness is not what it should be. It is very good coffee and with an uplift in some welcoming greetings that would make up for an untidy coffee shop.

We highly recommend Threaplands. Perfect for buying a memorable gift, or some plants. But, also for the cafe there, which offers a great selection of food (all table service). We recently bought our Christmas tree here and will certainly be visiting often. Very friendly staff and plenty of free parking

Great thumbs up to the Espy and their staff and organisation. Organised the local cycling clubs Annual Christmas Night Out for a party of 40. They make organising the night out easy and the food, particularly for such a large group, was first class. Special thanks to Amanda Caygill and Sid Ghadi for their patience and understanding in arranging the night out.

Great place with relaxed atmosphere. Starters and main meal was tasty but the desert was tasty but a very small portion of sticky toffee pudding. I did mention it when paying and the staff didn't even say anything. I expected more from the manager.

We recently visited Coats Café in Edinburgh, and it was a truly wonderful experience! The food was incredibly tasty, with dishes that were clearly prepared with a lot of care and love. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, which made it a perfect place to relax. The staff was super friendly and hospitable. A special mention to the gentleman who makes the coffees – not only were they delicious, but his sweet smile made our visit even more special. It was clear that he enjoys his work, and you immediately felt that as a guest. Greetings from the couple from the Netherlands! We will definitely return when we are in Edinburgh again. Thank you for the nice experience!

Cosy wee pub with good food, every table was full downstairs, so we were popped upstairs, and although we were the only customers upstairs the staff looked after us very well. Nice pint of ale for me and tasty wine for my wife. We both enjoyed our food and ate from the Daily Specials. What joy to find real pub food, not bought in stuff ready for the deep fryer or microwave (as is so often the case these days), no wonder downstairs was packed, and on a Monday night too! Beef Olives for me and my wife opted for a loaded burger (I can't remember with what, and I never even got a bite of one of her Onion Rings! 😭), both were delicious and disappeared swiftly. The ginger cake, custard and Rum infused pear for pud was hugely enjoyed too. We managed to get a spot downstairs opposite the fire and had more drinks and enjoyed the craic with other customers before heading back to our digs at Dreamhaven. What a great wee pub, we will definitely be back for more. Thank you.
