My best scottish food experience. Really enjoyed the chef's special. We arrived late in Mallaig and had not booked any table for dinner. We had a drink at the bar and were lucky to have dinner with a beautiful landscape, from the terrace. Really enjoyed it.

Food is always great here and the staff are lovely.

My wife and I stopped here for a light lunch after visiting the Chapel, and enjoyed the experience greatly. We sat indoors but had a fabulous country view out over the patio. We opted for soup (lentil) and it was delicious, an ideal light lunch at a reasonable price.

We visited this lovely homely restaurant in Aboyne, Royal Deeside. We had a very nice time with our group. The food served was delicious and the chocolate roulette was one of the best desserts I have tried in Scotland. Highly recommended.

This restaurant’s main attraction is the amazing view across to Taransay. The food was ok but not memorable. Maybe in choosing the haddock and chips, we went for the wrong thing. The chips weren’t fresh but rather frozen fried off the catering delivery truck and though well cooked and nicely presented, it wasn’t the absolute best we’ve ever eaten. They weren’t especially good value either. More off putting was the long list of dog rules sellotaped to the tabletop. We were accompanied by our well behaved retired guide dog and were seated at one of the two available dog friendly (or should I say dog tolerant) tables. This really isn’t necessary. The service was friendly enough. So, yeah, good and bad points. However it gets four stars for the outstanding views and the excellent service.

We stayed here on our way through the region. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. And has lots of parking. Absolutely recommend. There is also a neat castle you can walk to not far away (Dunnideer) and some standing stones.

Really nice lady piping hot soup delicious potato pie sat in and she brought over napkins and salt and pepper spotless shop Food is displayed nicely

Very friendly atmosphere, great wholesome food, great service, made to feel very welcome. Dog friendly too!

Fabulous coffee .. with amazingly tasty brunches of Bombay eggs on bagels and a poached eggs on sourdough toast .. great service .. good location .. (bit cool on a cold day, but guessing it’s an expensive place to keep warm) .. one little pet dislike .. cold plates with hot food .. ok (ish) with the toasted bagel Bombay eggs, but poached eggs on toast would be better on warm plates … other than that it would have been a 5/5 🌟 …

Stopped by today hoping for a late lunch after walking from Aberdour. After realising that only coffees/teas and cakes were on offer, we swithered on whether to stay or find somewhere else for lunch. Glad to say we stayed and shared the best yum-yum and pistachio and lemon blondie (the latter being out of this world!). Lovely cups of tea to wash it down. The staff were friendly, cheery and helpful.

Unfortunately the 5 course tasting menu is just not worth the £75 per head. None of the courses had any flavour and the beef was chewy, so overall, leaves you feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I visited the town of Bothwell because my last name is the same, and after seeing "my" castle I had a few pints at Douglas Arms and it was very cool. I hung out with some local gents and the place is just perfect! Thank you so much for the very welcome time boys (and Maam-bartender), I will return!

Popped in here today looking for a hot brunch and wow what a feast. The food was amazing and the staff were great can’t compliment them enough. Amazing

So I had the most wonderful beef noodles in this lovely pub the service was amazing the girls were just brilliant nothing was to much trouble my friends food they really enjoyed it we were saying goodbye to one of our colleagues was just great the girls couldn't do enough for us food was presented beautiful and was just great thanks chef and girls I will be back as your just up the road from me x
