This was the absolute best place we stayed on our visit to Scotland! We only stayed on night, and itâs my one regret from the trip that we didnât stay longer. The welcome and service was excellent, the room was perfect, and the breakfast service was delicious! I want to plan a trip back just to visit the accommodations again!
The five star reviews are right. A super stop after a walk to the rocks of solitude. Lovely village and a quaint cafe. Excellent nachos and various sandwiches. Great cakes too. No complaints at all

Absolutely delicious food. Authentic, fresh and so tasty. We had chicken and pork gyros, the mini meatballs starter and the chips and feta. Also two dips which were great, especially the really spicy one. Huge portions too.
Super little cafe, welcoming and well run. Dog friendly. Menu is limited however, if they're not too busy, other options are available on request such as full English breakfast. No obvious vegan options, other than toast. Oat milk available and gluten free bread. Freshly cooked food and really nice coffee. Full of locals, which is always a good sign!
Drove from an hour away on a sightseeing day only to have owners say there is no restaurant here. So then had to drive back the other way to go to our second choice restaurant.

Bought your lovlee biscuits from Moffat co-op on way back from holiday. (Many times) This time the shelves were nearly empty . 3 coach's stopped there you need to send more stock to shop as there were a lot of the coach people went to buy. Your biscuits are good value ,tasty product but empty shelves. Please send more in for us tourist's. Thank you.
We met friends for brunch there this weekend. The cafe is very welcoming and the staff extremely friendly. The menu/specials sounded so exciting that we ordered 5 dishes between 4 of us - Brisket chilli with cauliflower rice, Prawn with avocado on a milk bun, and Huevos Rancheros. All of the dishes were absolutely fantastic and unusual. The coffee is also extremely good. We will definitely be back (and will no doubt become regulars!)
This is not the first time we have had poor service from this restaurant, Poor communication, long wait before cancelling order.
Try Doigh Balls instead, much better.
Having been in Brechin with my young son for a football match, we were struggling to find somewhere suitable to eat. Our hotel refused to open their kitchen as it wasnât busy, so we had to go out and look for somewhere. We found the Auld Bakehouse just by wandering around. We asked if they had a table and they gave us the last one up by the stairs. We both had steak pie, chips and veggies. The food was lovely, and the portions generous. Only out done by the wonderful service. Next time I am in Brechin this will be my first choice, super experience. Very grateful that they let us squeeze in.
I believe the place is BYOB but being with my wee boy I wasnât drinking. Coffee was lovely!
