While a part of me wants to selfishly give this place one star to keep it hidden from the masses, I just can’t do it—because it truly deserves the recognition. From the moment you walk through the door, the vibe is spot on. Soft reggae music plays in the background—just enough to get you humming along—and the walls proudly tell the story of the restaurant’s roots. It feels welcoming, authentic, and full of heart. Now, the food. Absolutely packed with flavour, spice, and that unmistakable Jamaican touch that leaves you wanting more. It’s clearly made fresh, with real care and soul. Yes, there was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it. The staff? Genuinely friendly and attentive, even when the place was buzzing. It’s rare to feel so well looked after without being rushed. Having just returned from two weeks in Jamaica, I couldn’t stop telling my father and family about this bad-bwoy spot in Scotland. He’s already said he’ll try it out next time he visits—and I know he’ll be impressed. As for me and my partner, we’re already planning our return this weekend. Trus mi—don’t miss dis place. It’s a gem.

Having made a booking based on great reviews, we ventured into Falkirk in torrential rain. Soaked through and shivering, we were given a wonderfully warm welcome by Brina and shown to our table. We didn’t take too long to order but once we had, the electricity in the whole area went off! For a split second, we were concerned we would not get fed but Brina was brilliant. She acted quickly to announce that food could still be cooked, with the exception of the fryer which was powered by electric. Very quickly, the restaurant was lit with battery lamps and candles. It all helped create a lovely glow and we and other diners were soon presented with our delicious dishes. Brina made a number of calls and kept us all updated on the situation. If she was panicky, it certainly didn’t show and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and the food was as good as other reviewers have said. If this is the standard met during such an event, we can’t wait to go back and try it in more normal circumstances.

It took 2 hours to get tacos and salad. Only 2 staff serving both floors. Drinks en dry waiting on food at no point did anyone come check on us or offer us more drinks. Had to complain to finally get food. Been looking forward to eating there for ages. Very disappointed. Very understaffed. Was prepared to wait for food but that was a bit much even by Jamaica time standards. I hope it was a one off and more staff are normally available

Simply very very tasty food. We had the prawn tacos to start and then chicken curry with rice and beans and a superb spicy burger. Great value for money. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The owner Brina personally came out from the kitchen to ask if we were enjoying the food. We will definitely return.

Fantastic flavours, the food was excellent but I think some dishes were a bit over-priced. £18.50 for the goat curry was a bit steep. However I would certainly eat here again as the food is superb.

Booked for 3 people early 5.30 pm. Seated upstairs as large booking downstairs who appeared to be enjoying it. Service polite and friendly . Served fairly quickly and really enjoyed the quality of the food. Small enough to be intimate but busy enough to have atmosphere. Will definitely go back .

Saw the reviews on TripAdvisor, so decided to visit. Certainly did not disappoint, its quite a small restaurant and was busy while we were there, this did not effect service. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask our waiter's name. He was very attentive and informative about the menu, so many choices. We both had starters and something from the lunch menu ,definitely recommend prawn tacos. To be honest we tried each others dishes and liked everything we had chosen. Tried plantain for the first time, will have them again. Need to go back for the Tapas menu, which is Thursday and Sunday. Evening menu looks interesting and would love to try the goats curry. Our bill for starters, 2 items from lunch menu, try the ginger beer, tea and coffee was £43, very good value for money. Definitely will be back.

We were looking for somewhere special for a post Christmas family meal out and we could not have chosen better. We shared platters for starters then had a mix of main courses including goat curry, jerk chicken, fish & oxtail. All were delicious and just the right amount of spice. We will definitely be back and strongly recommend it to others.

Had been meaning to pop in since it opened and only just got around to it. Did not disappoint, very relaxed restaurant vibe with cool decor and a good atmosphere due to the Jamaican music playlist. I’m no expert on Jamaican food but real enjoyed all the dishes we tried which were fresh, well seasoned and ingredients were good quality. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Drinks list is really good too, especially with interesting Caribbean non-alcoholic choices (try the Super Malt). One of the best places to eat in Falkirk, will definitely be visiting again soon. 🇯🇲

First visit for the four of us, all the better for my wife and I as our favourite Jamaican/carribean restaurant in Aberdeen closed recently. Super tacos for starters and the jerk chicken, jerk pork, oxtail stew and special fish dish were all great. Super staff too. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and would recommend and look forward to a return visit. 😊

MORE AT TripAdvisor

I had been wanting to try this place for ages so went here earlier today for lunch. The food was as expected very tasty but unfortunately the whole experience was let down by the poor service. I had ordered a jerk chicken wrap with plain house fries. What I received was jerk chicken and the spiced Jamaican fries. When I questioned the server about this he stated that this was substituted due to the kitchen running out of wraps. For a start, I find this extremely hard to believe considering we went at opening time on a Friday afternoon when most of the lunch menu consists of wraps. Two, a few minutes after being told the kitchen was out of wraps, another table was served wraps. If an order has to be substituted due to low stock then we should really be told beforehand. Not only this, but the substitution cost more than my original order. It seems to me that there was an honest mistake made by the server and instead of owning up to it and offering an alternative he just lied about it to make his life easier. So all in all, this pretty much ruined the experience. Which is a shame, because the food was actually very nice.

Wow!!! Really nice, relaxed restaurant in Falkirk town centre. Service is relaxed and friendly, nice ambience. And the food… Prawn tacos were excellent as was the manish water goat soup. Jerk chicken was excellent and the curried goat… OMG… best curry I’ve ever eaten? Maybe… certainly in the top 3. The chef told us it was her family recipe and you could taste the history. Exquisite. Both served with delicious rice and peas. Rounded off by Jamaican rice pudding - seriously nice too. And we were served by one of my son’s school friends. Definitely recommend!

What a great little restaurant. Lovely staff and great food. We had the Red Stripe Chicken Wings which were fabulous and tasty with the best sauce. These were followed by the Ox tail stew with just enough spice and the goat curry. Meat was very tender and well flavoured. The reggae music in the background gives a Caribbean vibe and brought back happy memories of holidays on the islands. This will definitely be a restaurant we’ll visit again. Highly recommended!

Wonderful tasty Jamaican food which brought back memories of a holiday in Jamiaca a few years ago. They have a small menu, but we quite agree with the plan to serve up a small variety of dishes well and freshly cooked. The evening did not go quite as planned, but that was in no way the fault of the restaurant. The family member who's birthday was being celebrated developed Covid so we had to cancel our table and get a take-away. However, we have had meals in the restaurant in the past so we can vouch for the fact that the service and atmosphere are lovely. One of us had the goat soup for starters - actually, we all had a taste and it was particularly delicious. We also enjoyed goat curry, and Jerk chicken both traditional style with rice and peas (actually beans in Jamaican food) and with their spicy chips. They do not have an alcohol license so we had planned to take a bottle of wine, but ended up drinking the wine at home! We also ordered some "green ting" drinks - actually grapefruit, which is also very tasty. We will be back. It is a shame they are not open on more days

Our first visit (note, it's now on Wooer Street, not Callendar Square) and the food was absolutely wonderful. What a great addition to Falkirk. Jerk chicken wings could have been lifted straight off a BBQ in July - beautiful rich and smoky flavour. The ackee and saltfish was just as good, and the sides gave it all extra lift - special mention for the plantain, lightly fried and subtly sweet. But it was all great, and it was lovely to get a chance to speak to all the staff and see the huge pride they take in their food. We'll be back!

Excellent service, clean, spacious dining space, authentic jerk. We came from West Midlands to be with family in Edinburgh for Hogmanay. They booked this place for us to have lunch in Falkirk for a meal like home and we could not be more pleased! Brina welcomed us personally, offered menu suggestions, chatted with us a bit and was delighted to know that we are also from the Caribbean. We had starters of callalloo soup, lamb, chicken and veggie patties. Mains of rice & peas with jerk chicken and jerk pork, potatoes, fried plantains, cole slaw and veggie options of ackee & saltfish, with bammy. Nothing could be faulted, everything tasted divine. Will certainly visit again, highly recommended!

As a born & bred Caribbean person, I've got to say this is the best Jamaican food I've had in the UK so far!! 🤤👌🏾 The patties were very moreish - with a nice flaky pastry and delicious well-seasoned meat filling. The jerk chicken and pork were authentic and extremely tasty, paired nicely with a very generous portion of rice & peas. Thank you Brina and your lovely team for looking after us and making us feel at home in Falkirk! 😊
