Family orientated and a very friendly cafe. Just happened to chance upon this place whilst passing through. Good speedy service -enjoyable teas and coffees and breakfast rolls that were particularly good. Will keep this place on the "stop off" list when passing through Langholm again.

The free car park is just outside this cafe, so very handy. We both had delicious home made soup with a bread roll and shared a bowl of very tasty chips. Drinks were very nice hot chocolate. Prices are extremely reasonable. The lady running the place with her daughter was very friendly. If you're visiting Langholm I'd very much recommend Pelosis Corner cafe for refreshments. We popped back later for icecreams, also very good.

V much a ‘family’ café from the past - perhaps c.1963? Good basic food, great soup and toastie and much appreciated fry ups. Perhaps a bit understaffed for lunchtime?

I've heard several good reviews of Pelosis Corner Cafe and decided to try it over the more prestigious and expensive restaurants in Langholm. I wasn't disappointed, the fish and chips and coffee were very good, and for £ 8, this isn't miuch these days. Also the owner is very friiendly and there are a selection of newspapers to read while you're waiting for your meal, which isn't very long. You can always tell how good a place is by how busy it is and Pelosi's has plenty of regulars. If you're a bit short of cash, they do double fried eggs and chips for £ 3.99, which are popular. I'll be going back again.

This is one of the worst cafes I've ever been to. I have gave this cafe numerous of chances but still disappointed. So unwelcoming and the staff are rude. I have been before and had the intention to sit in the cafe, yet I was presented with a takeout container so had to eat my food out of that whilst sat down at the table. Maybe they were saving dishes that day, or maybe it was because I'm not a regular customer and I'm under the age of 20. The sausages are filled with grease, when you bite into them it's as if they're the cheapest, frozen produce you can ever imagine. Bacon is so disgusting. The coffee is weak and not tasty at all. The whole cafe is ridiculously overpriced, and having to pay more for an extra shot in your coffee - ridiculous! Additionally, I remember when I was at the local school and when you ordered chips you got them in an uncovered take away container (not great when it's raining or windy) and you were forced to stand around the back to wait for them instead of in the cafe. Totally bizarre. The staff of Pelosis obviously didn't like school kids but still took money off you. Not friendly cafe if you aren't the right person or the right age. Very clique-y cafe and made to feel unwelcome and soon as you enter in the door.

Visited for lunch. We were greater by a friendly happy lady ,who pointed out seats, told us where to pick up a menu and find the specials. We both opted for one of the specials - soup & a toasties & a drink-great value at just £5. Soup of the day was lentil and I had a cheese and bacon toastie with coffee. The food was served hot and promptly, the staff were friendly and the cafe was spotlessly clean, no dirty tables or piles of plates and food debris on any of the tables

This place is not fancy but significantly friendlier than the other coffee shop ( truly scrumptious) . The food is basic but promptly served with a smile and as a consequence is busy. Was working in Langholm and had expected to be back in office in Dumfries for lunch, where a smoked salad salad was waiting for me in the fridge! However delayed, I nipped across the road to Pelosis. Great buzz for a late October Monday, went with intention of a bowl of soup! However noticed ham, egg and chips on menu. Cannot remember last time I had this.... So was delighted to hear that soup had sold out! Ordered said ham, egg and chips and a mug of earl grey tea. Five or six slices of lovely ham totally trimmed of any fat, fat dry chips and perfectly fried egg. Was totally lush, would never normally eat this volume at lunch, so politely left 3 chips! Total cost £6.30... Fab value for good honest food, especially when normally charged a premium for earl grey tea! Service was welcoming and friendly, tables kept really clean, free newspapers. All in all a great experience.

Nice little cafe in the town of Langholm. The cafe is located near to the zebra crossing the A7 in the town. I picked Pelosi's café as a meeting point for work colleagues. The mobile phone signal in Langholm can be patchy so it's best to make a plan and stick to it! I arrived early with laptop and paperwork and was directed to a quiet corner table so that I could work for a couple of hours before my meeting. There's no wifi, which was fine for me as I was working off line. The tea and toast supply was quick and friendly. The café was busy -- seemed like lots of regulars -- but comfortable and welcoming. When my colleagues arrived we had a good meeting plus lunch: fresh, homemade food served with a smile. A good choice of venue.

This is an Italian coffee bar which seemed quite popular with the locals - there was plenty of custom. However, it seemed to be missing a trick of two in that the food is rather run-of-the-mill (eg sliced white-style toasties), portions ungenerous (eg very small bowls of tasty soup) and menu unadventurous (eg no cakes - only packets of biscuits). Prices were reasonable but really a place to eat to live rather than to live to eat.

They do things like bacon roll and egg rolls like a normal small café but also do pannini, s aswell as there daily special, s like chicken goujons with dips and chips all freshly made also home made soup and cakes they are a traditional café that dates back a number of years with a lot of local history and are famous for there home made icecream. This is my third review, but have visited this establishment more than 20 times, I can't remember how many, but never considered going to the other café across the road, this is the first choice café to go to. Didn't have to look at the menu, I know what they have, they always have a spare table, sometimes not an ideal table, but enough room for me and my family. Friendly staff, always fully of cheerful banter, not with us, with the regular locals, but never feel uncomfortable. Nice and relaxing, if we haven't got a tight schedule, I might have ordered more. Will defiantly return, as you would have guessed by my reviews.

My husband and I called here yesterday (26th Sept 2013)on our way through Langholm for a snack. As we had the dog with us we sat outside. My husband ordered 2 toasted teacakes, 1 tea and 1 latte. The latte was in an ordinary tea cup rather than the taller mugs, and the toasted teacakes came ready buttered and spread with some cheap strawberry jam. One thing I hate is too much butter and I have to say that it was so thick I could scrape some off. This made it soggy, and with the jam on top, you could hardly pick it up without being covered on runny grease. Why not give some butter and jam (even portion packs) for the customers to do their own, or at least ask them how they would like them served. We've eaten here before and its not been too bad, but they didn't do themselves any favours serving this.

This is a great little café, Started coming sometime in 2012, Was waiting for my daughter to finish her play group, me and my husband and my other daughter went in for a bite to eat, we didn't know what to order, we just ordered what we usually have at truck stops (before we had kids). It was yummy, our drinks were faultless, staff are really friendly too. Had a highchair for our baby. We got to choose our table, although, if it's busy, its still got enough room for at least minimum of 3 people per table, and they have an outside seating area for smokers, when it doesn't rain. (I'm not a smoker by the way!) Not too expensive that it'll burn a hole in your pocket, but not cheap to make you think is it good enough, it's just right, and well worth the money. Will return again. Only when I'm in town.

Visited the Frothy this morning for the first & very last time as the cafe is closing. Whilst the cafe was comfortable the coffee wasn’t the best ever tasted and we were stunned at the price! Compared to other coffee houses close by it was surprising; could this be a reason they are not finding it profitable?

I go here regularly for a carvery as it is one of the best I have been to. I am a very fussy eater and to find a carvery that serves chicken as an option is surprising difficult. The three meats to choose from are usually chicken, beef and gammon/ham. The veg/side options usually include cauliflower cheese, broccoli, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, cocktail sausages and stuffing, but the roast tatties are my favourite part of the meal! You are limited to going up to fill your plate only once but I usually leave feeling very full. Sometimes I have soup as a starter as well depending on what kind it is. I highly recommend giving the carvery a go for anyone who is a fan of a good roast!

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back
