Another great visit to Lockards Farm! Staff were lovely and very attentive! Drinks and food were both served quickly, despite being busy, and amazing as always - definitely recommend!!

Been here before and it has been very hit and miss. This time the staff were very efficient and friendly so well done. The food was awful, I had the vegetarian pie which tasted like something you would buy from Gregg's for a couple of quid........terrible......I left here feeling robbed. I have had a look at some of the reviews on here, if you click on some names with only a few reviews you will see that all of their reviews are 5 star and all reviews are for lockards farm.......very strange......do these people only fine here? After this experience I doubt it.

I’m really shocked at the good reviews. Our hotel recommended here as we wanted a meal. I found it such poor standard like a typical microwave meal. I actually thought my adult meal portion was a child’s one smallest main meal I have ever been served in my entire life. Children’s meal i have no words, it would have filled a 1 year old just my children were stunned. Just point out we are a slim family and genuinely we have never been served portions that size. No cans or bottled drinks aside from 2 choices or draft. Phone kept ringing over and over no one would answer it. We don’t live here so we’d never be back anyway, but this is definitely one of my most disappointing meals I’ve ever had .

Down for our holidays and Lockhards Farm was highly recommended to us. We visited on Sunday for a family lunch. Amazing 🤩 very clean restaurant & toilets. loved the roast dinners tasty and hot 😉 Kids areas indoor and outdoor bonus. Casey our server was great and helpful especially when my wee boy hurt himself outside 🥰 Will definitely be back if we are in the are again. Thank you 🤩

Called in here on Fri 4th Oct for lunch.A superb pub with great food,very quick service,large portions and piping hot.We had mixed grill and pie & mash which were lovely.All staff including Mackenzie were lovely and very helpful and polite.10/10 Thanks guys TK

I haven't been able to afford to come back for quite some time until now, and have thourally enjoyed the experience every time I have visited. Food is always warm and tasty. Portions are if a nice size as well. Well worth the time and money spent in this place. Always a warm and inviting atmosphere here. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

The staff were really friendly which is why I’ve settled for 3/5 stars, the rest of the experience however wasn’t so good. The food wasn’t hot when it came out, the gravy on the roast dinner was cold. There was a family dinner on the table next to us who’s children were running around the tables and screaming/ shouting while we were trying to eat and the staff didn’t challenge the parents or try to stop it. At one point the other family’s children started pulling on my twins high chairs and made my toddler shout for them to stop. It was very rushed, the plates were taken away before some of us had finished eating and this made us feel that we had to hurry up and leave.

My husband and I Went for a meal here today and wow!! Lovely place, very clean including the toilets. Food was amazing, nice and hot and cooked perfectly - compliments to the chef. Staff were Excellent and outstanding customer service provided by Erin, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and highly recommend Lockards Farm and will definitely return again.

Pleasant staff. The food is somewhere between fast food and restaurant. You can have plenty of vegetables and vegetarian fare some vegan dishes or just fish and chips and it is all tasty. I though would say it is systemised and so not trying to compete with upmarket restaurants or even high class pub food

We had lunch and the service was excellent. The food was okay, we returned one dish and it was replaced without any fuss. It was overwhelmingly good the service from Erin. It was lunchtime and I wouldn’t expect the atmosphere to be any different. There was music in the background and a gentle hum of chitter chatter from other dinners. This is clearly a popular place. Thank you Erin!

Staff were lovely ,very attentive and helpful. Had the trio of roasts as a main course which was nice but consisted of 4 small roast spuds , a tiny razor thin piece of beef ,couple of slices of turkey with a Yorkshire pudding ,gravy and veg. Very,very poor portion for near £17 . Portion sizes seem to be an issue with a lot of reviews going back a while, but not seeming to be heeded. Disappointing, used to be a go to place for us.

Vegan options available for Sunday roast. We were only passing through on our way back home to Gateshead in England but if ever in area again would certainly return to eat here again. No r atmosphere. Staff friendly, place clean and spacey. Nice family environment too.

Joseph was welcoming and gave good service throughout our visit just let down by food I had macaroni cheese which was seriously over cooked I left the majority of it we did have dessert which was nothing to right home about and had way to much icing sugar dusted over it

Fantastic Food and a cosy warm atmosphere make for a lovely enjoyable experience when you visit Lockards Farm Dumfries. The outside dining area is spacious, clean and includes a play area for the kids. Add to this friendly attentive staff and plentiful free parking, gives you a stress free dining experience that will have you coming back for more. Highly recommended!! Recently visited Lockards Farm and was shocked to find how the standards had dropped, overflowing ashtrays, dirty tables, the chicken was dry and the presentation of the food was poor, add in slow service ( it was quite when we were there) and I’m afraid to say Lockharts Farm plunges from the top of the class to the bottom, 4 Stars lost from my last visit!

We are there last night while on holiday in the local area . We booked ahead as we were looking for a dog friendly table which we got . Staff were attentive on arrival and we were shown to our table . Didn't seem to be many staff working but the ones who were worked hard to ensure we were attended to We ordered a doggy roast chicken meal for out wee dog portion was huge and he really enjoyed it but just a bit much for him my daughters had fish and chips which was lovely and again a huge portion I had buttermilk chicken burger which had lots of sauce on it which I didn’t really enjoy but the burger it’s self was pleasant. One thing that would of helped us was to know where to get water / bowl for your dog as staff were really busy and we couldn’t see any indication of where you could access them

Stopped with our dog and were made very welcome. Had the sausage and mash light bite and it was the best I’ve had anywhere.

Lovely experience at Lockards. Great service, the staff gave us plenty of time to enjoy a family birthday celebration, no feeling of being rushed at all and very accomodating. Food was delicious everyone loved it all. Would definitely be back and highly recommend.

I had been previously eaten here some years ago pre covid, and that experience had made not really want to return. However I was part of a group of 18 having lunch and it was very pleasant although I was a bit disappointed not to have the, stated on the menu, Crackling with my roast pork, but the rest of the food on my plate was delicious so 9/10. I also had the sticky toffee pudding which was OK but I've had better versions than what I have had served elsewhere so maybe a 6 out of 10 for dessert. My friend had the burnt basque cheesecake but they said if was very disappointing and tasteless so 3 out of 10. My other friend had the salted caramel sundae and it looked good and they said it was very good so will give it 10/10. Our server Erin was very knowledgeable and efficient who contributed to the ambience of a very nice lunch experience. I have changed my mind about this restaurant and I would definitely recommend to others, and I'm sure I will be back in the near future.

We came last month (kept completely forgetting to leave a review) and we were served by Alanah. She was lovely, and chatty, made sure we were OK and had drinks. Could not fault her at all. Fantastic server and fantastic food

We arrived and were greeted and shown to our table.The waitress was friendly and efficient.Service time was reasonable as they were very busy!The ambience is welcoming.Food portions are generous,My husband had to finish what i couldn't manage.We didn't feel rushed at any point and our waitress checked we were enjoying our meal.When we went to pay we had a nice chat with the lady who took our payment.All the staff members we met were lovely and a credit to the business.

Pleasant experience in nice surroundings convenient for center and east side of Dumfries. Restaurant was impeccable as were the toilets. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was reasonably priced and I had the fish/ chips which was excellent. I will definitely use Lochards Farm again as I work in Dumfries as a relief manager on local holiday park about 3 times a year.

Dinner with my wife Joseph and Julia were first class very friendly good food had a brilliant steak each highly recommended

Service was quite slow which is fine but we had asked for some alterations to the kids meals due to allergies, the kids meals came out, one was correct and one was wrong, both ordered the same thing so it got sent back, then our meals came out, they brought us two lots of onion rings instead of onion rings and a garlic bread, we had to give the little one some of our food to keep her quiet because her food wasn't there yet, she got her food when we were almost done, meaning she's ate food off of everyone elses plate until hers is there. The garlic bread came when we were almost finished and the steak was badly cooked, there was a lot of fat that hadn't been rendered so it was awful. We did get money off out bill for the bread and kids meal but I didn't want to say about the steak because noone came to check food was ok or if we wanted more drinks.

My youngest and I visited Lockards on Monday night, and once again it was excellent. Food was brilliant, it’s dog friendly, and once again I commend the staff who are the very heart of any pub. When I visit Scotland to see my kids, it’s our “go to” place. Definitely recommended 😊

The food was very tasty but my husband felt that the portion size was more like a starter than a main meal. Without the voucher it would have been quite expensive. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Was booked in for the quiz with family. A fun enjoyable night was had even though we didn't win! Staff were friendly. Will be back soon.

Friendly welcoming staff, we had been sent a voucher on the morning of booking, however the offer had ended the day previously, the host explained that she would try to honour the deal, however she could only offer a 20% off not the 30% on the voucher, really great to see that it wasn’t just a “sorry I can’t do anything as it is a head office error “. We enjoyed the great food with friends and will definitely be back.

Decided to meet family here for some dinner whilst staying in the area on a short visit. We booked a table for six about 2hrs prior to visiting and glad we did as when we got there the place was very busy and people arriving without reservations had to wait for a table. The place is nice and welcoming, staff are friendly and attentive. Its also dog friendly so our family could bring their dog in instead of them being stuck in the car alone. Menu had plenty of choices, including kids meals. My son is 5yrs old with a good appetite but was unable to finish his meal as it was so big. My wife chose a pie which looked home made and was delicious, I had a special (a burger topped with glazed belly pork) and my teenage son had the mixed grill. Unfortunately his egg has a fly cooked into it... a genuine mistake which was dealt with quickly. We were happy to pay for meal but this was discounted for the error which was a nice gesture. Despite this, all the food was delicious and good value for money. It also has a small park which kept our youngest occupied whilst the meals arrived. Overall, despite the fly we had a lovely meal and would definitely visit again on our next visit to Dumfries.

Sunday roast was excellent one of the best I’ve had in the area, would recommend. Deserts to die for Had the pork Sunday roast and normally I’m not one for pork but beautifully cooked and nice and juicy veg was lovely as well The caramel tart was exceptional Staff were great and very friendly and very nice to our wee girl. Only slight downside was there was a bit of a wait for the food to come other than that cannot fault anything else.
