Friendly welcoming staff, we had been sent a voucher on the morning of booking, however the offer had ended the day previously, the host explained that she would try to honour the deal, however she could only offer a 20% off not the 30% on the voucher, really great to see that it wasn’t just a “sorry I can’t do anything as it is a head office error “. We enjoyed the great food with friends and will definitely be back.

Very kind team & nothing was to much trouble. We asked for a quieter area on a Sunday afternoon via booking system. . The table was all set up for us on arrival . Prompt friendly service .

Great place with great food! The food took very long to get here though. I ordered a bacon and cheese burger and it took ages to get here. I arrived at 18:00 and got my burger at 19:40. I expected it since there are alot of people and it didnt cause me much trouble. It was worth it in the end though. The service is wonderful too since they came to check up on us and ask us if we wanted anymore drinks or to order more food. The atmosphere is also great, some kids tend to be there which might annoy you but their is a corner with toys that they usually stay by, in my experience anyway. Definetly must visit!

Brilliant restaurant with excellent food and service

Yes the restaurant was busy, but the delay between the first course was some 30 mins We have been regular visitors in the past but something has changed and we were very disappointed with our experience.

We found this place purely by chance even although we have visited Dumfries many times before . Looking for a drink and some lunch and a toilet break. Toilets clean and fresh so that’s a good start . Table Service another lovely touch . Staff very pleasant and obliging and the set lunch menu 2 course for £15 was just what we needed. Lovely tomato and basil soup with an unusual touch of having the herbs in an oil and this allows you to stir the herbs thoroughly through the whole bowl .👍. Very tasty . Bread a wee bit stale and perhaps out on butter per slice ? Main course was larger than expected ( given the price ). I had the fish goujons and the fish was fresh and tasty , a good size and no underlying stale oil taste which for me is a plus . Chips plentiful and well cooked . Hubby had the gammon steak and asked for fried egg and to hold the pineapple and he got two eggs which was lovely . My mushy peas were very tasty and one of the best portions taste wise that I have eaten . Garlic bread was tasty but perhaps rethink the presentation of it ? However all in all three cokes a large wine and two course set menu x 2 just over £50 oh and the side order garlic bread . Thanks guys it did what it said on the tin and a little more

Food was good. Service was excellent

We had lunch and the service was excellent. The food was okay, we returned one dish and it was replaced without any fuss. It was overwhelmingly good the service from Erin. It was lunchtime and I wouldn’t expect the atmosphere to be any different. There was music in the background and a gentle hum of chitter chatter from other dinners. This is clearly a popular place. Thank you Erin! Went again Jan 25 for a late lunch and it was just perfect. All the food delicious and the service excellent. Thank you.

Friendly and extremely welcoming, all the team members were friendly and polite. Allergy questions asked and dealt with in a professional manner. Drink and food quality was really good for the price. Would definitely return

Food and atmosphere was wonderful. Exceeded expectations. Pricing was very reasonable, and service was with a smile. We did find that others seated after ourselves were having orders taken first and that the table service was quite slow, despite us arriving in a quiet period before it started picking up. That wouldn't stop me from coming back, we were really impressed.

All staff were great. Mackenzie in particular was amazing and really customer focused. Five stars for a fantastic job done at my niece’s 17th birthday large family meal.

Mackenzie was excellent dealing with a large party of varied dietary requirements. Thoroughly recommend the food was hot and good portion sizes.

Tasteless prawn cocktail, The burger was fine I suppose, the chips were cold and very few.

Joseph our server for the evening was exceptional. We had prompt service when required and the food was impeccable, delicious and beautifully presented. Joseph made the evening welcoming and inviting and we will be back for plenty more visits.

Booked for Christmas dinner. The food quality at best was from a discounted food store and reheated. No stuffing, either the turkey was not freshly cooked and carved and the veg was really poor. The service was non existent except when it was time to pay. Random but some tables got Christmas crackers and some (us of course) didn't so we asked for some, it was like skiing for the crown jewels. Anyway all in all it was a very disappointing experience. £96 for 2 of us !!!! One good thing, they catered week for dogs with water bowls and treats so that was appreciated

A nice selection of foods on the menus to choose from, including children's meals. My husband and I had 3 courses because there was so many lovely things we wanted to try. The food was amazing, it surpassed our expectations as we weren't keen the last time we visited a few years ago. We were glad we decided to give Lockards another try. Our food was fresh and made from obviously quality ingredients. Our children enjoyed their meals too and would like to return again soon. Service was friendly and professional. We definitely plan to visit again ☺️

Second visit to this place. said to myself after the first I wouldn’t be back and wish I stuck to it. Thankfully didn’t have to pay for the inedible food only had to pay for drinks.

Would have given the food a four star if the desert had been the same one as advertised.

Christmas Day with family. Cannot praise this place high enough. Honestly, my aunt is in a wheelchair and the staff/table accommodation was great. The meal was superb and will be back next year for sure, God willing. Thank you for everything.

We had a fantastic time having breakfast with Santa. The little one loved it! Staff were incredibly friendly and engaging with the children and had party games to play. Shocking slow service 50 minutes for starters to arrive, at this time it was a lot quieter, food was nice bit then had to ask for mains to be served, felt rushed yet they are the ones who give you a two hour window. Sort your act out and light a fire under the chefs.

This food was not good. I gave 2 stars as the staff were quite attentive. I had turkey dinner. The turkey did not taste nice. The potatoes were not good. As for the brussel sprouts…. They were awful. Really awful. The starter of garlic mushrooms was okay. For a meal I didn’t really enjoy, I thought it was rather expensive.

Good service, food good with two exceptions... pâté starter has nowhere near enough toast with it & as it's served on a very hot side plate, the pâté was literally melting. Leek, cheese and potato pie main looked and tasted good but some of the potato was still hard & under-cooked. Otherwise an enjoyable visit.

Had a Pre Christmas lunch,food was fresh,piping hot and plentiful,and tasty.The staff were great and a hard working team at that,the place was clean and tidy,and tables were well spaced,so it was a relaxing meal.Well Done.

Pity there are only 5 stars in each section. Very friendly staff, food was excellent as usual, and very well presented. I really could not fault the full experience. Looking forward to taking my granddaughter on Sunday for breakfast with santa. I would certainly recommend Lockards, you won't be disappointed.

Adequate parking, venue was roomy, clean and had nice décor. Staff very friendly and attentive. Good range of menu choice and food was delicious! Toilets very clean. Not overly priced so very good value for money. Will definitely return!

For my first time at Lockards I was blown away by both food and the atmosphere. Your servers are always happy and willing to have a laugh, from the moment we walked in Jen our server was absolutely out of this world with her humour and service always a smile and makes you feel so welcome! and can we just say, the food is absolutely out of this world! Just look at the plate for a sunday roast! I don’t have any bad words to say about Lockards, should be proud guys! Hats off to the chef too 🙏

We have visited here for evening meals which were great however the breakfast has been disappointing on 2 occasions and this puts me off visiting again.Firstly the good points.The waitress was lovely,tables were clean and place was quiet and empty.Our order was taken and we sat back to enjoy our drinks and wait for our food.I had ordered a pot of decaf tea but when it arrived it was earl grey which i really cannot stand.The waitress had not mentioned this and the last time i visited for breakfast they had regular decaf tea.When the food arrived i went to butter my toast but butter was rock hard,this was about 10.15 am so not exactly early.The bacon was not cooked.The waitress was very apologetic and gave up a big discount,but however lovely she was i would hesitate to come back.

Welcoming greeting. Initially impressed but found dirty cobwebs ceilings above our table, the black kind which says to me overlooked for a long period of time. Reserved for 7 people but table only set for 6 which also meant we needed another chair which we had to find ourselves from another table. Chair seat was dirty. Lack of zero drinks. Food .... Was good overall but our granddaughter order macaroni which was disgusting, dry and dominated by truffle. Children's menu poor offerings. Dessert choice not great, all chocolate ice cream or brownies. Btw who knows what Basque cheesecake is. I had brownie sundae which was ok but would prefer offerings of maybe gateau, apple pie, banoffee, creme brulé even trifle. No Christmas menu available on a Saturday? Disappointed. Was happy with overall prices. Sorry but unless menu, cleanliness and service improved our family wouldn't return again.

We had not booked and realised quickly that we should have, and will in future. Thankfully there was a spare table and and after a short wait we were seated with a menu. I am coeliac and asked a staff member about gluten free breakfast options. Although there was not a non-gluten containing breakfast menu the staff member was able to state what I could and could not have. When asked a question that she did not know the answer to she was more than happy to go and check with the kitchen staff. Then when the food arrived there was an allergy marker to ensure all staff were aware. This filled me with confidence where other restaurants have not understood the allergens related to Coeliac and I have been “glutened” on a number of occasions (where I am seriously ill) which has resulted in me rarely eating out. The presentation of the food was lovely and when I asked for more butter (gluten free bread can be very dry and requires more butter than normal) she went straight away and brought me some back and advised to just ask if we needed anything else. Overall we were made to feel welcome and we couldn’t have asked for a better service, which was fantastic considering how busy the restaurant was. Thank you to all the staff.

My husband and I Went for a meal here today and wow!! Lovely place, very clean including the toilets. Food was amazing, nice and hot and cooked perfectly - compliments to the chef. Staff were Excellent and outstanding customer service provided by Erin, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and highly recommend Lockards Farm and will definitely return again.

Steak and Ale pie was the best I had ever tried, the pastry was so light.

Lovely early Christmas meal here today, big plateful and delicious. Good service welcoming and efficient. Great too we can bring our dog and water doggy biscuits and even a doggy menu available. Our favourite eating place in Dumfries. 💕

Lockards Farm was recommended to me and I ate here 2 nights in a row while I was working in the area. Everything was good from the minute I walked in. They have a proper separate GF menu with a great choice. The food was wonderful. When I am away for work I often eat on my own and frequently find that as a solo diner I am over looked. Not the case at Lochards Farm! Excellent service throughout! Special mention to Emily and Hannah, two outstanding waitresses.

I was there a birthday roast and the service was great! The only issue we had is that our desserts were forgotten, but when staff realised the mistake they apologised, got right on it and gave us a discount on our meal. Would definitely return if I'm in the area

Been here before and it has been very hit and miss. This time the staff were very efficient and friendly so well done. The food was awful, I had the vegetarian pie which tasted like something you would buy from Gregg's for a couple of quid........terrible......I left here feeling robbed. I have had a look at some of the reviews on here, if you click on some names with only a few reviews you will see that all of their reviews are 5 star and all reviews are for lockards farm.......very strange......do these people only fine here? After this experience I doubt it.

Lovely bar/restaurant. Surroundings are very pleasant with well spaced tables. Great dining atmosphere. Food is really great, but occasionally, vegetables let it down but doesn't spoil the meal. The staff are always welcoming and very pleasant, never to busy to have a chat whilst serving. Would definitely recommend. 👍

I’m really shocked at the good reviews. Our hotel recommended here as we wanted a meal. I found it such poor standard like a typical microwave meal. I actually thought my adult meal portion was a child’s one smallest main meal I have ever been served in my entire life. Children’s meal i have no words, it would have filled a 1 year old just my children were stunned. Just point out we are a slim family and genuinely we have never been served portions that size. No cans or bottled drinks aside from 2 choices or draft. Phone kept ringing over and over no one would answer it. We don’t live here so we’d never be back anyway, but this is definitely one of my most disappointing meals I’ve ever had .
