Sanja by Sagar Massey in the Kirkhouse was fabulous. Tasting menu surpassed all expectations , with some really unique combinations. The Halibut was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. Aloo chat was also a favourite. Cocktail and service were also excellent and restaurant is beautiful inside Thank you.

Had the most amazing dining experience at Sanja by Sabar at The Kirkhouse Inn. The food was exquisite and my daughter who is vegan was catered for beautifully. Atmosphere, friendly service, wine list..all get full marks from all 5 of us. A very special evening.

Popped in for an evening meal. The place had a friendly atmosphere, and the staff welcomed you in. We helped ourselves to a table, and a member of staff was quickly over to order drinks and take our food order. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. We ate in the main restaurant, but they do have a fine dining Indian restaurant, which looked lovely and will be back to try.

We saw the tasting menu online and thought it looked incredible, so we booked for my husbands birthday. Absolutely divine food, such well balanced flavour combinations, delicate, subtle and delicious. Farooq and Alison looked after us so well, explaining every dish and answering any questions we had. A delicious wine pairing complemented the meal and they surprised my husband with an extra, fresh, warm brownie as a birthday treat to finish. What a perfect evening. You'll want to tip the beautiful service as we did, bring cash though, as they are unable to add it to any card payments at present.

Just spent a amazing early evening in the Sanja by Sagar restaurant at the Kirkhouse Inn. Fantastic tasting menu, the Halibut came out tops with us - very closely followed by the duck, with sublime drinks pairing and amazing service - can't thank the team enough.

Stayed overnight at the Kirkhouse Inn in Strathblane to sample the newly opened Sanja Indian fine dining restaurant where Sagar Massey - who reached the Masterchef Professionals final - is the chef patron. Based on this meal, he was robbed! The tasting menu was out of this world and to die for. Fine dining at its best in lovely surroundings. A Michelin star awaits surely?! Highly recommended!

First visit to the Kirkhouse Inn and it won't be my last. OMG! Sanja by Sagar Massey, which has only recently opened, has the best tasting menu I have ever had. We travelled 50 miles each way to try this restaurant out after I saw an advert for it. I have been to many hotels and restaurants to sample their tasting menus and Sanja has the tastiest one I have ever had, without doubt. Classical fine dining with an Indian twist, each item, including the amuse bouche and complimentary pre-starter, is a taste sensation. The decor is beautiful, the maître d' is lovely and friendly with exceptional knowledge of each item on the menu and the waiter, Sam, who served us, is a delightful young man. It was so nice of Mr. Massey himself to come out to meet us at the end of the meal as well. It really made the evening. We enjoyed the whole experience so much that we have already booked to come back in just a few weeks' time. Superb!

After munching our picnic sandwiches in the car we were still a little hungry so stopped off for a light lunch and had a lovely time. Very pleasant decoration and atmosphere; we struck up conversation with Vincent who really made our visit more enjoyable. I had the mussels and my partner had the soup of the day; both were excellent and good portions. Would definitely go back for a full meal if we are ever in that neck of the woods!

I popped in with my friend for a bite to eat and I have to say, the food was superb. I had the macaroni which had a lovely thick flavoursome sauce and my friend had the steak pie. It was full of lovely juicy chunks of beef and they’re very generous with their portions. The waiting staff, who was a young lad was polite and courteous, he was attentive and well mannered. Why haven’t I given it full marks? Well, the older lady behind the bar was just downright rude. She glared at me when I went to the bar to ask where the facilities were. She didn’t even answer me but one of the customers did and told me where they were. My friend and I had finished our meal and the place started to fill up and get really busy. The waiter and waitress were run off their feet so I decided to go to the bar to pay and again, the older barmaid wouldn’t look in my direction and again ignored me. I don’t know what her issue is but I’m a paying customer and that is no way to treat customers. She was snappy with the young waiting staff and I felt embarrassed. Maybe she was having a bad day but I didn’t appreciate the way she treated me or her colleagues. An older gentlemen served me who was also polite and courteous. Such a pity because it was a lovely meal in beautiful surroundings, spoilt by a member of staff who doesn’t know how to treat people.

The oldest lad was working nearby and we decided to dine 'en famille' in the Wild Thyme Cafe. The waiter was very attentive bringing menus with drinks following swiftly. The main courses were superbly cooked and presented and were good value for money. Only one of us had a dessert and they seemed slightly on the pricey side for what they were, but we had a very pleasant evening indeed and will go back again. All the covid precations/measures were observed/in place. The location is pleasant and what's not to like about new-born lambs in all the neighbouring fields?

Just found the relatively new 1601 pub located in the Kirkhouse inn. A great selection of beers on tap warm and friendly service and surprisingly lovely new refurbishment. We simply wanted a quick bite and ordered a house Burger and Club sandwich. Both dishes were delivered well presented and delicious. Great value for money and well worth a visit . The bar has a warm and very comfortable atmosphere . Look forward to a return visit .

Our first visit to the Kirkhouse Inn in many years, to try out casual dining in the Wild Thyme Cafe since the hotel was taken over by the new owner within the last year. Thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Cullen Skink and mussel starters, followed by generously portioned fish and chips, plus mac cheese. Staff were without exception friendly and helpful. If there are any teething problems while all hospitality strives to deal with Covid, supply and staffing issues, I'd urge folks to cut them some slack.. We had no issues, quite the opposite! An ideal, relaxed country meal out - and we'll be back!! Best of luck, The (new) Kirkhouse Inn!😊👍

With a few global giants nearby this independent knocks them for six in terms of quality and value. Recently reopened, post covid closure and I urge people to support this and other independent businesses, but only if they deserve it as this one clearly does. I had a bacon and a square sausage roll for breakfast and both were lovely. Returned on my last day for another bacon roll and had a couple of takeout rolls for later on the long train ride back home to Birmingham. Nice staff, nice place, deserves support. Recommended.

We have enjoyed visiting The Aizle many times over the past several years for both soup and a toastie or tea/coffee and cake. The staff are always friendly and efficient but the main attraction is the cakes which, although pricey are absolutely delicious. We had visited in May and had two teas and an americano coffee with hot milk and of course the cakes. Unfortunately, when we went there at the weekend, it is now apparently the practice to charge extra for the massive expense and effort involved in steaming a spoonful of milk to have with the coffee which means that a small cup of americano coffee which costs £2.65, presumably with cold milk, now has a surcharge of 75p, making it £3.40. We visit many restaurants and cafes and no-one else makes this additional charge so it really seems like greed. We won't be back.
