One of the best breakfasts I’ve had. We had the loaded croissant and maple bacon pancake, and the Terry’s hot chocolate and americano. All excellent. The place is nice, clean and has a nice homely feel.

No suggestion was made for you to leave MJ you decided that all by yourself when you decided to tell us how wonderful else where was to which I replied - why not go there then and that suggestion was only made after you decided all by yourself you would never be back.! When you write a review MJ stick to the facts do not elaborate the truth to suit yourself. You returned an item you did not like and took a strop when you had to pay for it. Like I told you yesterday I hope you have a great rest of the day and keep enjoying other eateries who I have no doubt in my mind know exactly what you are about. Ps this is 2024 this industry will not tolerate your extremely backward mentality. All the best MJ. Oh lastly how can you be allergic to cows but still drink dairy.....!??✌️

Avoid at all costs. Customer service appalling. When I suggested ‘have you ever heard the phrase, the customer is always right?’ The manager’s (rude) response was: ‘Not in here!!’… Please do yourself a favor, and go somewhere else.

Lovely brunch menu, great baking and a very cute set-up. Staff were pleasant but felt annoyingly rushed- eg lifting plates while one of us was still eating. We had 2 courses each and coffees and felt like we were being pushed out, though more than half of the other tables were free. Very off putting. Had the pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup which was delicious, and very filling. Unfortunately one of the pancakes was still raw in the middle, also off putting. A shame, as this has been a favourite place for a while.

Should have eaten somewhere else! 2 normal fry ups and 2 coffees was over £35! This is not some high end fancy restaurant, it's a student cafe, with mismatched decor, at best! The food was not good and the price was absolutely ridiculous. Don't waste your time looking for this place, some things are best left hidden.

Very poor experience… the menu seems to have recently changed, with very limited choices compared to the old menu. The quality also seems to have really decreased, our food was very lacklustre, with parts of the brunch cold and stale bread served. And an “avocado smash” brunch, made with mass produced guacamole instead of actual avocado? Very disappointed

We were here for breakfast and the breakfasts were perfectly fine as were the teas. It was strange to have to ring the doorbell and be taken to a table but hey-ho I'm just out of the mindset of COVID like precautions. However, although the restaurant was not crowded, the background noise was dreadful. I cannot imagine how much strident sound half a dozen small children or several ladies-of-a-certain-age would generate. Sadly, it will be my abiding memory of The Hideaway.

First time dining here . First impression the cafe is beautiful and staff very friendly . Found very little choice on menu if you don't like bagels or sour dough bread . Both of which my friend has an intolerance too . To save embarrassing ourselves I ordered food and my poor friend sat with tea . There was a mix up with order and I waited an extremely long time for scrambled eggs and toast . The egg was lovely but the sourdough was very hard and couldn't bite it . We both felt the prices were also a bit high for what it was . It was busy and I'm sure other diners were happy, but wasn't for us. We ended up in co-op nearby for a brown bread sandwich for my friend.

Far too overpriced. We thought our bill was incorrect at first. £17.80 for a latte, a cinnamon latte, a brownie and a slice of carrot cake. I have since checked surrounding cafe's, and their prices are nowhere near as dear. For the same order, it looks like we'd of paid around £12 (i.e La Cucina has their lattes priced at £2.95, compared to £4.50 at The Hideaway, and 'Friend of Mine' has them at £3 - £3.80). The cafe has a nice interior, and nothing negative to say about the staff. Our server was lovely (I think she had an American accent). The coffees and cakes also tasted great, but the prices unfortunately soured this and are just too high for this current climate where price is the most important thing.

Menu looks interesting, food and drinks looked good and nice atmosphere. Maybe avoid if you’re going alone as never got to try anything. One of those places that isn’t good unless you’re a table of 2+. Waited to be asked my order for 20mins and left after a table of six that came in 10mins after me were having their order taken. What a beautiful little cafe! You just couldn't go in here with any negativity and I am very surprised at some people's behaviour towards hospitality staff. We witnessed the lovely Italian waitress be berated by an extremely rude lady so sad for someone to be so negative in life.... Anyway this hidden gem is not a place for scones or bacon rolls however the breakfast menu is extensive, refreshing and delicious!! Don't even get me started on the vast array of fabulous homemade cakes 😋 I had the zingy salmon which was to die for as was my huge millionaires shortcake. We can't wait to return.

I didn’t feel welcome. It’s very over priced and there are lots of other nicer cafes to choose from, I would say avoid. I contacted them via messenger to say I wasn’t happy with my experience and they didn’t even apologise or find out what had happened to follow it up. Foodie Secret haven. Not your average place, rather a bistro with eclectic menu and specialties. Everything from new takes on bagels and omelettes (try the Zingy Salmon!) and the most luxurious pancake stacks with fresh toppings to be had. Great vegetarian food, and they even invented a Matcha iced latte with fresh strawberries. The desserts and cakes are fresh made, and out of this world. This cafe is very pretty inside and clean. However… Food was average and definitely not worth the money. It’s incredibly expensive. I know this is a cafe in bridge of Allan, which is predominantly expensive however, you would assume the food would be better for the price. One thing which made me dislike my experience the most was the staff. Was served by a young girl who was taking orders, she was very slow taking orders. Not just with our table, but many tables in the cafe as well. Further, another woman I assume as the manager is what I would call as rude. She was rude to customers around us as well as overhearing talk of other tables and complaining about them, not discreetly either. Her staff don’t have many manners and seem very depressed in their work place. I wonder why. There are many lovely spots around the area which I would recommend. This is not worth your money.

Staff disinterested in plates of food obviously not enjoyed. Customer services is poor. Overheard woman, possibly owner/ manager, being very rude to a table. In retrospect, our first mistake was walking in off the street without checking reviews. Wish the Hideaway had been more ‘hidden’. Granted, there’s plenty of positive reviews. But too many show a concerning pattern of staff or owner with a terrible manner towards customers. I’ve never heard of a place that tells as many customers to leave! Had the worst experience because of daring to state the obvious when food that wasn’t up to scratch. Separately, customers who don’t “strictly” order off menu won’t be tolerated! What’s that about?! Too many other places on the main road to visit.
