Highland Gate Stirling in Stirling

Was here for a special celebration meal, service was very very slow! Two tables that arrived well after us got their meals before us. Fish goujons were literally 'fish fingers' fish, and chips were full of bones, and baked beans were a thimble serving! Won't be back.

Was lovely, friendly staff, quick service, reasonable price and nice it is dog friendly.

Had the trio roast! Very yummy and plenty of variety of veg and meat. Had the chocolate bomb for desert the brownie was melt in the mouth with ice cream. Very cosy atmosphere and lovely staff! Would definitely recommend 😌

Ate today at Marstons Highland Gate restaurant at Kildean Stirling Beautiful setting, warm friendly atmosphere, food delicious and service from Calum fantastic, Explained clearly to us what was not available before we started deciding, whilst taking and getting our drinks order, gave us time to choose from both full menu and lunch specials Food served piping hot and delicious Checked we were happy with our food throughout Dessert also piping hot and delicious Thank you we will definitely eat here again

Had xmas lunch a good experience

Excellent experience on our first visit. Good snacks, fab drinks and welcoming our dogs with treats and water. Thanks Calum & Bronagh we will be back.

Only reason I put the atmosphere less is because the music was too loud

Just what's needed to get you started in a day. Service always great from Alex & Amanda. Dogs welcomed with a smile. Ideal for having some breakfast and getting some work done for a few hours too. The breakfast menu includes hot drinks and continental in the price... very good value!

Had a great time here . We spent the new year here bringing in the bells for the new year at the dinner dance that was held here . Fabulous night ,staff were great ,food was great , dj was great . Cozy environment, quick service and delicious Scottish breakfast

Not been to The Highland Gate for a while till went for lunch with my best friend today for a wee catch up. Been newly decorated since visited and is lovely. Quite quiet today which i had booked a table online in advance in case was busy but there was plenty tables empty at 2pm. Food could not fault and Calum was very friendly and attentative. I will definately return and would 100% recommend a visit and easy to get too as just over motorway. See you in 2025 :-)

Very comfortable overnight stay. Nice evening meal. Excellent full Scottish breakfast. The grab handle in the shower bath was a most welcome feature

Excellent, as always. Lovely to stay somewhere so friendly when we're heading south and perfectly placed for travel. We got there from a late ferry just in time for food and had excellent Sweet Potato Curry. Good breakfast too, to set us up for today's travel.

We visited the highland gate last Tuesday (10/12/24) and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Calum was our server and he went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed. We had 3 children under 4 with us and when the food came for the children, Calum transferred it into cooler plates so that it wasn’t too hot for the children. Food was enjoyable, everyone had clear plates. From the extra beans, to making sure we had drinks etc, nothing was too much for the staff. Thanks again. We will be back.

Fantastic treatment by all the staff, fantastic services and excellent food. Excellent accommodation, very cozy both the restaurant and the accommodation. Highly recommended.

First time my wife have been here. It was a random stop-over, just off M8, on route from Glasgow to Perth, no great expectations. Had totally delicious meal, beautifully cooked, nicely presented. Pleasant, efficient service. Reasonable prices. Will definitely be back whenever passing.

Stayed in the hotel and it was filthy!

Was out for a family birthday lunch and expected fresh food, frozen steak pie and steak which we had to send back twice. The service from the blonde headed woman who said she was the manager was awful stood over my mum to see if her steak was OK. This service is ridiculous. Wanted steak medium done this was still rare on both times .

The food was mediocre and the waiter continually called my wife "pal". Also a great deal was made in the adverts about the 30% off offer. It was only when the bill arrived that the waiter told us this didn't apply to the Christmas menu. Yes, it's there, well down in the small print, but we showed the staff our voucher BEFORE we ordered and they still took our order from the Christmas menu and said nothing. This was infuriating and on top of the very average food will guarantee we'll never be back.

Dined here today (30/11/2024) and was seated fairly quickly despite not having a reservation. The young lad who seated us said he would be back to take our drinks order. Ten minutes later, he still had not shown up, so I went to chase him up at the unbeknownst to me hotel reception desk which is next to the bar. He acknowledged me and asked where I was sitting (even though he seated us just minutes prior to this!) but came over promptly to take the drinks and food order. The Camembert that we ordered wasn't served in an acceptable or edible state as we felt it wasn't melted enough. We brought this to the attention of a staff member who apologised and replaced it with an acceptable version. When we were paying at the bar, the young lad with an English accent behind the till asked what table number we were at, then said he couldn't find it on the system, but checked again then eventually did find it?! He wasn't overly friendly, polite, or customer focused. The Christmas decorations however were lovely, and it is a nice restaurant decor wise in general too.

Great service for our group of Veteran motorbike enthusiasts. Myles was the star of the show making sure everything ran smoothly. The food was tasty and the service was friendly and seamless. Thanks to all involved.

The Duty Manager Myles was absolutely outstanding! We had a lunch for well over thirty of us and he made sure that all in his team made everything ran like clockwork for us. Great food, excellent service. It is very rare to find someone as good as this. Shout also to Makenzie - very polite, positive and hard working. Highly recommend this place when Myles is at the helm.
