The most amazing Christmas experience! The trip to Santa and the woodland walk was so very magical - my son was absolutely beside himself. The staff at every encounter were exceptionally friendly and only helped to enhance the whole magical experience in the way they spoke with my family, especially my son. Would highly recommend keydells. A brilliant Christmas trip, really got me in the Christmas spirit and we will definitely be back next year. Thank you

Was about to step foot in a chain coffee shop but decided to try find an independent one instead. Deaf Cat looked great from outside, just a shame it didn’t live up to our expectations inside. Was cold inside so most people sitting in coats. Coffee was not great. No proper cups, for people sitting in only paper cups. Will swerve in future unless some changes made.

Used this coffee shop a few times to meet friends for breakfast/coffee. Dogs welcome and outside area is lovely in good weather. Inside area gives lovely views across the orchards. However, service and staff welcome is hit and miss. Limited menu and over usual prices. I think they are aiming at the incumbent DFL population........ The three visits I have made I have not felt particularly welcoming. There is no greeting from the staff behind the counter and they barely acknowledge even when you order, bring the order to your table or clear away. The hospitality (albeit a coffee shop) is a difficult industry and there are lots of other great coffee shops/cafes in the area as an alternative with warmer welcomes. Breakfast was good but a long wait - 40 minutes for 2 x scrambled egg.

This was our fifth stay here and, as usual, it was sublime. The staff couldn’t have been kinder and more welcoming, the atmosphere warm and the Valentines Day dinner and breakfasts delicious. The place is pregnant with character and charm. My husband and I stayed here with my parents and loved every minute. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We will be back many more times.

We’ve been to the farm shop for food several times and sadly it’s gone downhill drastically since our last visit. The food was disappointing and there was very few options for lunch. The lady behind the counter was dismissive and rude, she didn’t even wipe down our table. The toilets were disgusting and need a good clean. My partner ordered a honey and almond roasted Camembert which didn’t come with honey or almonds. The chicken in my sandwich was chewy, looked like left overs and was pink- not what I expect for a £9 sandwich with no side! The place is generally looking run down and looks like it’s going under. We won’t be returning after our experience today.

Horrible atmosphere, we felt completely unwelcome. I appreciate they were very busy and we hadn't booked but others appeared to just walk up and get a table. We were actually glad in the end as the whole place just felt snotty and the prices were outrageous. Give me a nice little café over this type of place any day of the week.

This is the only restaurant in Dover Castle that offers hot food. There were quite a lot of customers on a weekend afternoon. There was only 1 staff working at the hot food bar, which made us queued for more than 20min in order to place our order. I didn’t mind the slightly high prices but it would be much better if the pork belly could be more juicy.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist. She led us to a podium and asked us to wait there and a member of staff would greet us. We stood for quite some time (long enough for the receptionist to return and apologise for our wait) before we were eventually shown to our table. The table was in fact two small occasional tables and the chairs were low with a very deep seat making it impossible to sit with the back supported. Mind you that was better than other guests who were perched on stools. There were just six finger sandwiches between us so less than one round of sandwiches each. I looked at the menu and realised that we had not been served the egg mayo brioche roll. It took a while to gain a servers attention as they did not remain in the room. I was abruptly told I could have an egg roll but it would be £5 extra! I pointed out that it was on the menu as included and she then said “Oh you didn’t get them. I thought you wanted extra.” The rolls duly arrived. They were no bigger than the size of my thumb. And the sausage roll was even smaller, not even bite size. Onto the scones. These were warm and light in texture, more like bread than scones. There were two each, one plain and one which should have been fruit. It contained one sultana. We were luckier than another group of guests who had to return their scones because they weren’t cooked in the middle. There were four mini cakes each. All quite pretty but not particularly flavoursome. I’m sure when I visited previously there was a mini dessert of some description. It was certainly better value than this offering. When we wanted extra tea my husband had to leave the room to find someone to serve us. We had a voucher for the afternoon tea and were not asked for the additional service charge. I certainly would not have paid this discretionary fee as the poor service didn’t warrant it. In summary it was a pleasant tea in pleasant surroundings but not the outstanding or luxurious tea that you would expect from a five star establishment.

We went in the cafe for a sandwich which we brought and it was so expensive and was very dry , saw a nice looking brownie so bought it and it tasted disgusting doesn’t even taste like a brownie wouldn’t recommend, I would save your money and bring a packed lunch

Such friendly staff and the avocado and poached egg on sour dough toast was incredible, such good value. The location is amazing, with a choice of places to sit: inside, upstairs with incredible views, the decking or the beach. You can even have a glass of wine! Love it
