Food not bad BUT Toilets are disgusting - ladies cobwebs galore around pipework. Top of ceramic under the seat absolutely rotten and both hand basins extremely filthy

Great Ice cream portions and friendly service

I thought this little cafe would be a cracker when I walked past, on entering 4 staff chatting to each other at the end of the counter who I had to approach to get served, wasn't told you had to get your own cutlery and condiments. Food came out in an acceptable time but the fish and chips had been cooked with old oil and to within an inch of their lives. We both received a child's portion of fish, literally a slither for £15! and what I think was meant to be triple cooked chips that just smelt of stale oil. Save your money and use it at the Lobster Pot a few mins walk away. £33 for 2 fish and chips and 2 diet cokes, absolute joke.

I wouldn’t bother ordering food. We waited over half an hour to be told that they forgot the order by the two people that served me. I asked how long they would have waited to tell me and they just looked at me. Run by idiots. The tea was cold and the coffee was tiny and Luke warm. Don’t waste your time it’s overpriced and rubbish.

Lovely restaurant and nice ambience . Food of good quality ,I enjoyed my vegan breakfast . Nice to eat outside by marina on a sunny day . Staff pleasant

We stopped by here to grab an ice cream whilst walking along the promenade. Lovely ice-cream and a pretty decent price! Our puppy loved his doggy ice-cream!

Have been going here since 1993. Have seen a few changes but food, service and atmosphere has always remained great.

Fairly basic, but decent cakes. Can't beat the location, right on the sea front. Nice ice creams as well.

Circa June 2024: Family breakfast; as usual the restaurant was busy. The full English breakfast is OK, the "raw ingredients" were of low quantity; I've never seen an egg yolk so pale. The kids breakfast came with a veggie sausage. This should have been mentioned on the menu rather than when served. He's a fussy kid and refused to eat it after spitting out the first mouthful; we would never have ordered it if forewarned. The "kids mother", also a fussy eater nearly had a meltdown because she discovered a hair on the corner of her toast. It was so small and needed magnification to see it clearly; personaly I would have just broken the offending corner off of the toast. Finally, I must compliment the coffee. I was served an excellent cappuccino and they also serve decaf versions, so my wife was happy. ------------ Circa 2022: Busy day and most tables were full. I'm not sure if its a staff shortage or training issue but my table and several others still had dirty plates and leftovers on them from previous diners. We had to call for someone to clear and wipe our table down. Frankly I'm surprised that more urgency isn't placed on this, the adjacent uncleared table was attracting some hungry looking seagulls and they don't shoo away easily when a possible meal is on view. I'm not sure that £4.50 is a reasonable price for a bacon sandwich, even if it does come garnished with a few crisps on the side. For an extra £1.50 I could have had the small breakfast i.e. bacon, sausage, egg, beans and bread.

Worst food ever two eggs both with hard yolks bacon had bits of bone in it chios cheap frozen ones hollow inside the chef does not have a clue will never go there again my wife had to take fishfinger sandwich back cheap and horrible.

Best for an early Breakfast, walk on the prom and your set for the day. The sausages are awesome

Have been here for breakfast before and always been good. Today was disappointing, everything seemed deep fried, even the mushrooms and definitely not good value for money.

Visited on a busy Easter Monday and was not disappointed. Great service and very tasty food. Fantastic spacious location right on Felpham seafront with great views of the beach, sea and the sailing boats. We are a family of four and will be back.

Been here quite a few times I prefer it to the lobster pot as not so many dogs having a reactive dog myself food has always been good quality and service has always been good and you don’t get asked to vacate your table as you put your last month full in also price of food and drinks is quite reasonable

Stopped off for breakfast as the cafe we were going to had a long queue and thought we would try this. half our order went missing! Every thing on the plate was swimming in oil, and tasted like it had all been deep fried even the mushrooms. A March morning that was colder inside than out. Disappointed, wish we had waited at the other place

I ordered a fish finger sandwich , with salad garnish. The fish fingers were so tiny they hardly filled the sandwich and they had been fried to within an inch of their life. The bread was stale, and smelt musty like it was about to go mouldy. The butter was a tiny scrape in the middle that you could hardly see. No mayonnaise available.The salad garnish was limp, and wasn't fresh at all. My partner had a sandwich too and his was just as awful. We won't be returning , that's for sure !

My favourite seaside cafe! My family have been coming here for generations while on our holidays to nearby Pagham. The food is really good and value for money. The atmosphere is friendly in this family run restaurant. Love coming here.

Lovely cafe at Felpham beach. Good for families, sells ice creams, coffee , cake and lunches. It was particularly sunny on this day we visited and the nice young man in black who works there brought out an ice cream tub with fresh water in for the dogs.

Lovely place for a sit down with pup's, prawn sandwiches and latte coffee, then a stroll along the prom.

Went to get ice creams for family.Had to queue inside to put in order despite 3 staff serving in ice cream section . Was not informed by cafe staff that there would be a supply issue until after I paid and went to pick up ice cream from the ice cream counter outside .Asked for pistachio and chocolate - pistachio had run out . Asked for honey comb instead of wafer cone , was informed all were broken and had to have wafer instead . Part of the order included 2 whipped ice creams however these came out runny and I asked for another one as the test is to tip upside down to see how thick the ice cream should be . I was not offered a cloth to clean my hands after getting runny ice cream all over .To cap it all despite the area being dog friendly they do not sell doggy ice cream . Overall disappointing service

Ordered Chicken , bacon & Avocado sandwich on Granary bread . Pot of tea , drinks & crisps .. nearly £18 Some one preferred a mug of tea and didn’t take it , it was left lying on the counter . When I ordered my food & tea they told me to take the mug that was lying , I said no I want a fresh one with my food . I sat down & the girl brought up the mug of tea that was lying on the counter ? I said no I want my hot drink with my good , she took away . The food eventually came nearly 15mins later , they were not busy so long time for food , the mug of tea I refused and sent back twice was given to me , it had been heat up in the microwave & was stewed . The bacon on the sandwich was so hard you could have broke your teeth on it . The Avacado was not fresh & had black bits on it . I should have taken back but I picked them off . The bread was white , the lady on the till said she didn’t order granary for me , then changed her mind and said we don’t have any and walked away . Rude !!! Rubbish service , food was terrible , would have complained but my daughter does not like to make a fuss … It was a joke & feel sick today .. Catherine kerr

Nice location but it feels more like a school canteen than a beachside cafe. A bit tired and utilitarian. The food was ok by not great for the price. The staff, whilst friendly, were very slow and a bit indifferent.

Popped in for a quick bite. Was fairly busy but expected as bank holiday by the beach. Food was really good and plenty of it. Staff were friendly.

Met with family members on this occasion. Five adults, a baby and our small dog. Everybody welcomed. Polite friendly staff. Good clean wheelchair friendly Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating with excellent sea views. Clean well maintained male and female toilets. Decent portion size good value variety of cafeteria fayre. Local authority pay and display parking available within 100yds.

3 stars purely for the view, all sausages well over cooked, eggs under done & after eating & sitting for 2 hours no attempt was made to clear away our dirty crockery & wipe table! Won't be returning.

My parents are regular visitors to the Boat House over the last 40 years or so. They've seen the generations of the owners & family through the years. They have always found their visits to be very pleasant with helpful service. On our last visit during the recent heatwave we couldn't find a seat outside under any cover so went indoors next to the open doors where there was a little air movement. Moving my mother, nowadays in her wheelchair, was a bit of a challenge but with a bit of muscle my father and I got her over the ledge at the door. We simply had pots of teas and iced coffee - just enough to wet our whistles and take the weight off our feet. Oh, and the restrooms are OK.

Popped down to Bognor Regis for an early morning sea front walk. Decided to get breakfast first and had an enjoyable cooked breakfast. Cafe is welcoming and staff very good.

Coffee has improved, but still not great.

Family day trips to Felpham beach (with refreshments at the Boat House Cafe) were a regular part of my teenage years back in the late 1980s. Having not visited for approximately 30 years, yesterday I took a nostalgic trip back. I was pleased to find that The Boat House Cafe remained exactly as I remembered. Behind the counter however, I now noticed a framed photograph of a man who I possibly recognised from 30+ years ago. I commented as such to the assistant, who explained that whilst sadly this gentleman passed away several years ago - his wife - gesturing to the table behind me - is still in the business today! Wow! So my impression is that this is a family business still in the same hands. Great to find such long-term stability in these modern times. Really made my day. Putting aside any nostalgic bias and turning to the current, our teas & coffees were perfect. I chose to accompany the coffee with a delicious apple & cinnamon flapjack. Highly recommended! The cafe offers both outdoor tables and (if you prefer some shade and/ or a more comfortable seat) indoor. A sea view is available from both options. Cleanliness was excellent throughout, with good ventilation. Toilets were spotless.

Still sitting in the boat house and waiting for our food. We are a group of 8, 2 people ate 30mins after ordering, 2 people ate 45 mins after, and once the rest came the orders where wrong.... We've had to send the food back and now waiting again.... The service is terribly slow, the people are kind and nice but it's an establishment that's not prepreard to handle more than one customer at a time. The location of this place is spot on! Right beside the sea, which makes you wonder why they don't have the staff or skills required to handle serving the public in a timely manner. The food itself is nice no complaints once it was right.

I visited this place to buy an Ice cream, and a bottle of water. I had to wait a lifetime to get served, as they seem woefully short of staff. Then when I was finally served the ice cream vending machine broke down. The place is a bit run down, and it's a shame because they are in a prime position on the seafront at Felpham. I won't be going again.

Good choice of food at very reasonable prices. At busy times you may have to wait. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating.

Very dog friendly, cafe, right on the promenade overlooking the beach. We stopped in for coffee and breakfast after a hike with the mutts. Nice food, good value.

Staff were very friendly, very nice fish & chips. Used by locals frequently too which to me says it all.

Stopped here whilst working nearby for lunch, got the chicken and bacon panini and my pal had a tuna jacket potato. The food was of average quality considering the price, you’re definitely paying for the location. Great sea views all round with lovely staff. :) I would recommend this as a quick bite to eat place.

a young blonde boy was disrespectful and was not very appropriate, he just dropped my food on the table and walked off without even saying a word.

Well , i have tried almost all the local coffee places around the area . And this is BY FAR the friendliest place , and the cheapest BEST coffee i have found . and the coffee is ALWAYS hot

Staff is good, great location, outdated interior, clean toilet, young waiters very helpful, good menu but the fish and chips was very average for the price, chips are frozen, fish tasteless, batter double crispy, seemed refried, and as per others...you need to clean those tables outside....not sure i would go back really...

Overpriced for poor quality. Awfully basic salad, all iceberg lettuce and not much else. Very poor quality mayo (inedible) in the egg mayo &cress sandwich - appx 3 sprigs of cress. Nice setting, could do a lot better on quality though. Would never go back.

Couldn't get into the Lobster Pot so came here as a last minute rush. My husband had sausage egg & chips. The sausages looked like they had been floating around in the fryer all day & he was the unlucky one to get the dregs. The rest of the food wasn't great either. Really bad. I'd be embarrassed to serve that, never mind asking somebody to pay for it. Same as everyone else's reviews, great location dire restaurant!

We were very disappointed about our visit taking family for lunch. There seemed to be a shortage of staff and those working were young and appeared to be inexperienced, they forgot to bring our drinks and meals were not brought out at the same time. Although there were few customers eating, we had a long wait for food. The quality of the food was poor which included cod from the specials board which was overcooked and dry, costing about £9. The bacon included in another meal was almost inedible due to being overcooked and too hard to eat. It took a long time for whippy ice creams to be made then they ran out and had to mix more which was very runny.

Have to spend 5 pounds before you can pay on card, ordered a latte it was so milky it was basically white, only 1 tea bag in a two person tea! The location is pretty good, and good public toilets just round the corner.

Not posh. Not pretentious. Just decent, honest, good food and drink, reasonably priced. Sitting in the sun looking out to sea, priceless.

£5.40 for two small portions of chips that were not particularly good and the service was shocking. Seemed to be run by a bunch of kids playing shops. Depressing interior and awful furniture.

Having eaten many a full English breakfast around the local area - Felpham, Bognor, Littlehampton - this is by far the best. Well cooked bacon, tasty, well cooked non gristly sausage, really tasty fried bread without being greasy, and no less than 2 large hash browns. No idea why people queue at another establishment close by when the view of the sea is the same but the food at the boat house is superior and cheaper!

Cheap sausages are ALWAYS going to spoil a breakfast & get a low review from me resulting in not returning 👎

Although The Boat House looks wheelchair accessible, and it says that it is online, it is not. There is a step to get out of the building and no ramp. I had to stand (good thing I can) while two young people that work there carried my chair over the step. It caused a problem getting in too. Unfortunately with all the difficulty I never got to eat. The staff were perfectly lovely and all of them were teenagers, as far as I could tell. I appreciate it was not their fault.

Good food at a reasonable price, the most charming staff and a lovely view right on the beach..what more could you ask for..

We both had the jacket potato with Tuna and it was probably the worst I have ever had. Was dry and had hardly any Tuna. Also the salad was just a cut up tomato and some lettuce leaves. No effortt at all and was expensive.

Good value for money, coffee and cake venue adjacent to Felpham yacht club, indoor and outdoor seating, beach a couple of yards/metres away. Their mincemeat slice is awesome.

The employee that drives the blue Mercedes is ignorant and rude, me and my friend were going to eat here but when this chap was rude to us out side we decided to go elsewhere and I'm glad we did as local say the food is not that good.

Me and my partner went for breakfast Saturday morning had a lovely breakfast all cooked nice very friendly staff and helpful has toilets all clean. lots of seats inside and out. Lovely view of the sea and has a car park round back witch is a pay and display but not high priced. very relaxing service good what more do you need have been here few time in the last 5 years and always been happy with all.
