Wanted to try this place as advertised home cooked food. Walked in and walked straight back out. Wasn't a very welcoming place, seems more for locals to have their beer. The look of the pub looked run down.

Ha ha ha!!! What a dive, can’t believe how bad this place is. Avoid if you know what’s good for you.

On a work trip for a few days in the area and had dinner here on 2 nights. Spacious pub, with friendly staff, and the food was great! Enjoyed watching the Euros as well on the many TVs they had.

The new chef is amazing! Excellent home cooked food served promptly.

Just stopped there for a pint. Was surprised how much outside seating. Liked the pub very much i will stop of again friendly atmosphere. Nice staff..

we where staying close by at the caravan site and despite reading the negative reviews and quite a few coming from the caravan site we decided to take a short walk to the pub ,This is not a fine dining pub but a local pub with friendly local people and there are not many local pubs left nation wide ,Had a lovely couple of pints of Sea Fury (real Ale) The garden and covered area looked nice,So if you are the caravan site a fancy a nice pint its well worth a visit

A proper English pub, loads of things going on every week, live music on Saturday and karaoke every Friday night from 8.

Only popped in for a quick drink but a nice and friendly pub.

Wanted a quiet 5pm drink but atmosphere was competely ruined by the loudest landlord I have ever come across. Avoid.

Not overly impressed. Seemed they were only interested in people buying alcohol and watching sports on the screens. Most pubs now sell coffee tea etc with food which is what I wanted. I must admit I was shocked .

We had a great night! We only went in for a couple of drinks and ended up having food and enjoying the Karaoke until late in the night!

The fish and chips may have looked like supermarket bought but was perfectly cooked better than at home. Reasonable choice of beers

Very poor pub, dirty, no draught beer and they had run out of food at 7.00. We’re staying at the Camping site round the corner. Had to walk to Asda to get some food and left our drinks as the pub was so poor. Been to loads of pubs and this one is one to avoid!

WOULD RECOMMEND - WILL BE RETURNING My family and I took ourselves to The Locomotive for dinner and drinks. Service and atmosphere is good. Friendly stag with a great sense of humour. When the food arrived, all was well, but my fish was slightly undercooked. Informed the staff, and the landlord/chef reimbursed me for my meal. I declined at first, yet this shows the moral compus this establishment have, admitting they made a minor error but resolved with a solution. They clearly apperciated their customers whether you're local or not local. For this act of kindness and generosity, my family and I WILL BE RETURNING. Thank you, Richard and the Locomotive team. A friendly, welcoming traditional pub.

Popped in whilst staying at caravan site a short walk away. It was a bit dark and gloomy but the food and drinks were good.

Friendly staff. Very much a "blokes" bar, so a bit noisy. However, our family enjoyed our drinks and the juke box music.

They had a T lite 🕯️ on top of a shot glass full of white stones , yes ok it's nice . But then someone had turned the t lights upside down and it TO ME looked like a salt seller,,,,,,,,,, yes you guessed it I picked it up thinking it was salt ,,,,,,and the rest is history , hence they done me a new meal

It's ok has a pool table which is nice but only serves food if can be bothered

Fantastic pub friendly staff. Great chef. Called in last Sunday Lunch. Had roast beef Sunday lunch. Fantastic and great value. Highly recommended.

Sorry but 1 star is to much for this place but I have to put one to comment, very Dirty especially the toilets if we had used the toilet before eating we would of never ordered food was horrendous we had diarrhoea after not much thought put in to anything and food hygiene department should be closing this place down very disappointed but friendly staff but very expensive.

Not a bad boozer. Selection of beers could be better but this is obviously a personal preference everyone is different. Good to see they have Sky sports packages on the tele, so would recommend this place of you fancy a few beers watching some footie 👌🏻

Small pub in Wick. It doesn't look much from the outside but it is nice inside. It has a dartboard and snooker table. The centre of the pub is split into two by an arch with the larger section the main bar and the other for food. The people that run and work here are really welcoming and friendly. They have a jukebox that is free to use. In addition they have karaoke on a Friday and singers/ bands on a Saturday. It has a nice friendly, laid back vibe. We were made to feel welcome. Having moved not far from the pub we will be using it again. Had a lovely evening.

Went for Sunday lunch only to find live music and no food on Sunday's, but thoughly enjoyed ourselves whilst there, lovely people

Friendly staff. And dog-friendly which is even better! Unfortunately the couple of times I went though, I found I reacted really badly to possibly the detergent they clean their glasses with as I was left with a really sore throat and a severe rash that left my lips super sore, painful and chapped for several weeks afterwards. It was the only place I’d ventured out to on both the days I went (and was stuck at home working in the days immediately before and thereafter on both occasions, so no other external influence to factor in). My friend, whom I had met there on a day out from London the first time, told me that he had experienced a similar reaction. Initially thought and hoped it was an isolated experience. It didn’t twig until it happened to me again after the second time I went there several months later what might have actually been the cause. 🫤 Wondering how to combat it, as it’s a nice pub that we don’t have to walk miles to get to, so it’d be a shame to not be able to pop in again one day!

Lovely looking pub from the outside, sadly thats where it ends, unless Im missing something all I see around is pubs doing food are the ones that are thriving, this pub serves food only a 6yr old would like, chicken goujons and chips, fish and chips, sausage and yes youve guessed it, chips! No other choices. Also the lager is nearly £5 and the glasses were flat all bar one pint. The barstaff apart from the young blonde girl with a hint of pink actually seemed happy to be there, It had about 4 people in and yet it took me 5mins to get served?. Note, I was staying at the campsite around the corner, if this place got itself a good chef it could do 1000x better! I called in 3 times once in the day, and two nights to watch the football, 3 different barmaids, and it wasnt busy in the slightest for a pub next to a campsite, my advice is either close, stop doing food completely or start doing decent food a child wouldnt eat, quality burgers, lasagne, pizza, steak and mash, pork chops and mustard apple mash, it really isnt that hard, such a waste of potential!

Had an amazing evening with Friday night karaoke. We travelled to visit family in our motorhome and Richard the landlord allowed us to stay in their carpark for the evening. Can't wait to pop back in there again soon.

Good beer, bit worried about the stains in the glass, suspect glass washer needs attention, staff really friendly.

Nice place where I sat outside watching the level crossing (I'm a railway nerd), having a beer, and relaxing. The hostess brought my beer out to me and payment was using a portable machine. She came out later to see if I wanted another which was lovely as i had my books etc spread out and didn't really want to go in to order. Hostess was friendly and chatty. Only slight down was there was only 1 ale available, but it was lovely. So i was quite happy.

A bit run down but a friendly locals pub. No food being served at present. (Pre July 19th). OK for a pint.

They don't do food in the bar but you have to order from an other pub and they deliver it

1 ale on offer (which thankfully was good) front bench a bit unstable, but great (on that sunny day) for watching people in theirs cars waiting at the level crossing or going to the corner shop. Nice.

So rude and zero customer service skills. The bloke in the pub was so rude and I would never recommend this pub to anyone. We just walked out as he the atmosphere was shocking.

Decided to pay a visit after many years, what a disappointing time. The customers were either swearing in a foul manner or generally being unnecessary loud. As it is now table service I should have sat outside with the staff having their cigarettes to get served. Finally got a pint of run of the mill lager only to be charged £4.80. These are London prices not a builders pub next to a railway station. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to an enemy. Also social distancing has yet to be heard off, I felt very unsafe.

Visiting with the family, went to this pub that looks fantastic from the outside, nice and welcoming. However go into the pub and you realise that this warm and welcoming exterior does not extend to the inside. Upon waiting at the entrance as instructed waiting to be seated, we waited here for about a minute, during this time one of the locals pointed out to the lady working there that we were waiting, to which she responded with utter contempt for our presence "I know I have seen them". We then took it upon ourselves to sort ourselves out as she walked to the bar, and didn't materialise at all. We found a table and waited to no avail, After 5 minutes at waiting at the table, she still hadn't come to us. We just then up and left, never have I or my family been treated with utter contempt, or made to feel such an inconvenience. Utterly flabbergasted by the non existent service we received especially during the current climate, where pubs have been closed for 3 months, and need all the custom they can get to make up for this shortfall. I am astounded that there are anything other than terrible ratings for this establishment. Locals must be playing their part to increase the ratings

Beer well kept. Staff great and the landlord (Richard) is extremely welcoming. Plenty of outside space and Covid policies well thought out and maintained.

Didnt read any reviews before visiting. stayed at caravan park. came across this pub on route to town. looks ok from outside had a quiet drink at lunchtime was told food wasnt being served which was fine in current situation. Returned in evening (monday) was met buy a bunch of guys playing darts which i didnt think was allowed. very loud and a lot of swearing i can see this isnt a place to be in the evenings at all. barmaid was lovely and polite

We visit often due to a middle point for families. Our 1st outing since lockdown. But who is the landlord? Extremely rude swearing at end of the bar and outside the front of the pub seems to like to let people know hes the landlord as well! will not be returning whilst he is in charge. such a shame as its a lovely pub. But now seems to be run by someone who is an embarrassment to landlords. Lovely service from staff as usual. Ales were disgusting. Shame chef has left.

Just had an excellent steak dinner. The food here never fails to be good, would highly recommend. The Sunday roast is also worth a try and is good value for money. Children also accommodated and high chairs available. Staff always helpful and friendly xxx

A traditional Bristow haunt. Usually at Christmas, but occasionally not at Christmas. Fairly decent prices, usually nice staff, interesting locals. And Father Christmas once.

Had a fab lunch at the Loci yesterday. Sweet Chilli beef with rice and my chum had liver and onions with a huge amount of mash and vegetables. Both dishes were delicious and under £10 each. Great value for money. Would thoroughly recommend.

A proper pub. Friendly welcome from staff and customers, good choice of beers, food is excellent value and the chef even came over to us to check everything ok. They even encouraged us to stay for the pub quiz. Excellent night at a really good pub. Thank you!

Finally a proper good English pub!!! Very friendly and welcoming. Perfect wheelchair access. Went with hubby and friends to watch football and decided to have something to eat. A good variety of choices and a good vegetarian menu. Food came out hot and tasty. Will be visiting again!!

Been here a few times now for Sunday lunch. The 2 or 3 course options are great value and not been disappointed yet.

The food cooked by the new chef is great, highly recommend the Sunday lunch. Also recommend that you book your table in advance. The manager Richard will always welcome you with a smile.

Terrible neighbours, specialise in loading the youth of the area up with drink they can't handle and releasing them to cause havoc in the local area, fences broken down, glasses smashed in your front garden, numerous fights as soon as they are out of the pub, learn when people have had enough before they get in that state.

Had a great night here with the dads from wick dynamos lively place there was good band playing some brilliant old tracks and the boxing was on. Will go again👍

We stopped here for lunch and enjoyed the steak and a quiche. The food was good quality pub grub, the service was first class and the staff were friendly and inviting. Couldn't ask for much more really. Will definitely visit again.
