Bosham Inn in Chichester

My second lunch here in a few weeks and yet again top notch food. Had the pork belly this time which I recommend. Can’t fault this. Good friendly service too. Quiet on a Friday lunchtime, but that means guaranteed parking and restful meal by an open fire.

I love the food at the Bosham Inn - especially the chicken skewers, which are just delicious! The restaurant was busy, but the staff were all brilliant - we were looked after at our table by Sophie J - and she was really helpful and friendly. Our food came quickly, so the kitchen staff were working hard too! Lovely atmosphere, great food, fantastic staff - what's not to love?!

There was a very wide choice on the menu and the food was tasty and well presented. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming and there was a good atmosphere. We enjoyed our visit.

This was my best visit. Robert pir server was great. Food was good with a variety of options. Nice ambience. I had a very bad experience here many years ago. This is like night and day. Would readily return

We had a fantastic lunch. Top marks to the chef who cooked my MR fillet steak to perfection and well seasoned. And thank you to Carmelle for sorting our order plus suggestions. We visited on a Wednesday lunch time and there was plenty of parking and a quiet atmosphere. Recommended, and we will be returning.

Amazing roast dinner, fabulous service by Rob! We will be back as it is the best roast dinner on South coast in our opinion! Booking the table on line was so easy, arrived 10 mins early but our table was ready, i had requested a table by a window when I did the online booking, and we was pleasantly suprised our request was met as they were busy! The food arrived promptly, was beautifully presented & most importantly it was hot! Great food, excellent customer service and fairly priced for the quality of the food they serve. We will definitely be booking for our Sunday roast very soon!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Zwischenstopp im Bosham Inn mit sehr leckerem Essen. Auch die Gerichte für die Kinder sind positiv aufgefallen und es gab sogar etwas Rohkost zum Knabbern dazu. Im Außenbereich kann man sehr schön sitzen und die Kinder können toben.

Came here on a nice Tuesday evening for dinner with the family, lovely building with a good atmosphere, food was great and marvellous service from Sophie D.

The food was delicious, and the staff were fantastic, especially Rob. The location was perfect; there was plenty of space to either sit inside or outside, and the toilets were the cleanest I have ever seen in a pub. We look forward to returning soon.

I hovered between 4 and 5 stars but on balance I think they deserve the 5. The lunch menu offered a good choice at a sensible price. Service was relaxed but plenty prompt enough for a couple on holiday. Food arrived in a timely manner, the staff we saw were tidy and adequately friendly. The restaurant was clean and tidy with pleasant decor and aspects. The food we had was good to excellent and if in the area we would certainly have the Bosham inn high on our list of “go to” places to eat.

We had been here a few times in the past year and found it ok The revised menu was limited but read well so we had to start scallops and prawns in a cheese sauce with mash potato at £11:95 so expensive. Waitress said it had 5 scallops but was not to big starter. What came out was overcooked. 2 tiny scallops plus 4 time shrimp sized prawns in a dried up sauce …….how could a chef serve this? and for nearly £11? Then main course was smoked haddock with spinach fish cakes. What came out was 2 cremated fish cakes burned black so it was returned immediately. Then replacement fish cake dish arrived not cremated but overcooked and totally tasteless. The young waiter was pleasant but no sign of any senior staff to complain to. Pleasant venue but awful food. I saw many dishes being served to other tables and many looked overcooked and dry. This place is a disaster so we won’t return.

Food is good, it’s a nice place. First time we visited the staff (female) were efficient and service was good. Second visit staff (male) very poor. So, it seems to be a question of luck -Good luck! There seems to be a problem getting drinks, as the barman can be tied up with drinkers in the bar. Still worth a visit!

Wes topped here with our son and his family. We hadn't booked, but they were not busy. The waitress that served us at the bar and then later at the table was excellent. Super polite, friendly and helpful. Whilst we waited for our other guests we sat in the lounge area and drinks were brought to the table. When they arrived, we were taken to our table and provided menu and asked if we want drinks. For starters, we ordered a STICKY PLATTER, Chilli jam-glazed lamb koftas with hummus & tzatziki, pulled pork & Brambly apple bon bons, glazed chorizo, sticky crispy chicken and warm tortillas to share which was very good. For mains we all went for Pizzas. 2 went for STICKY DUCK & HOISIN PIZZA Shredded duck, mozzarella, red & spring onions, on a hoisin & tomato base, which for me this was OK. The other 2 ordered the SPICY PEPPERONI PIZZA, with red chillies and mozzarella and got good feedback. All the staff that served us were very good and would recommend this restaurant, but at weekends and the summer I suggest booking a table ahead of time as they do get busy.

First time at our new nearly local pub. Lovely atmospheric place with warm, friendly staff. Had a drink as a coupe and relaxed in the bar area, really comfy leather chairs next to a window. It was not long before we had an awful strong smell of cigarette smoke wafting into us, thought it may have been a new customer with it on his clothing but it got worse. We were going to stay for another drink but decided to leave. When we left through the front door, to the car park, there were four people smoking outside the area where we were sitting inside. Is there a smoking area for those who wish to smoke ?It should not be outside a window for inside customers… we would not go back for a relaxing drink unless this was sorted. Otherwise, lovely pub and lovely staff.

Booked for our 63rd anniversary, waitress and main course very good although late being served. We were then asked to vacate our table and order our desert to eat at a coffee table. We paid our bill and left without it. Will not be returning.

We really like this restaurant but our lunch today was a little disappointing. I ordered 2 starters and my husband ordered a salad and we asked for them to all be served at the same time. After quite a long time one of my starters was served. We expected the other dishes to appear at the same time but I was finished my 1st appetiser before we could get the attention of a waitress. She apologised and said the rest of the food would be out soon but it took another 15 minutes before my soup and my husband’s salad were served. He had ordered a Chicken, Bacon and Avocado salad but the avocado was in short supply. He has had this salad many times with the avocado being more abundant. We saw issues at other tables too until about 1pm when the food seemed to appear much quicker. I suspect there was a staffing issue in the kitchen but nobody apologised for the delays which was disappointing. This was a Monday and we were in there for more than an hour. Hopefully they will get the issues resolved but better communication would be good.

We have visited a few times recently, including for Mother’s Day today. Every time has been good service, from the manager greeting us and the people serving us. The food has been delicious, especially the roasts and the pavlova. The pork belly roast was particularly good with hardly any fat on it, and lots of veg. Nicely decorated inside and good atmosphere too with a cosy fire lit.

Went for Sunday lunch today and WOW …. The roasts were amazing. Reasonably priced … just wish I lived closer!! Will definitely be back.

One of the best meals I have had for a long time. The food was excellent and plentiful; roast lamb, roast beef (slightly overdone), roast turkey, and sea bass. Katie was an excellent and attendant waitress, looking after my partner who has a dairy allergy. The place was full at 2pm on Sunday, so service was a little slow, to be expected, but very efficient and friendly. Our dog, a very large Rhodesian Ridgeback was made at home despite taking up lots of room on the floor! The ambience was very nice.

This is the second time I have eaten at The Bosham Inn and I have enjoyed both times very much. The service was excellent, polite and prompt - our waitress was Mandy - she was excellent too! The food was really yummy!! I will return !

Booked for no other reason than I saw a random tweet by a football fan who had a snap of his Sunday lunch here. And in real life the picture was spot on. Easy parking, great service and lots of space to move around between tables. Not rushed, lovely food and will be back. Only criticism was from the wife who was not keen on her cappuccino. But my flat white was v good. Would be nice to see Guinness 0% so I can switch to it after a pint of the real stuff. Thanks for having us :-)

This is a large family pub on the main road from Bosham towards Southbourne ; there is a nice seating area outside and it’s a fabulous place for the summer . I haven’t eaten there yet but plan to do so . Lunch menu looks good for fixed price menus and the carvery looks fab . The staff are nice and there’s a lot of room to socialise with comfy sofas .

This is a lovely little pub/restaurant. They serve a wide variety of food and the staff are always friendly. There is a dog friendly area and also a dining area which is dog free if you don’t want to be by dogs. I have been a few times and food is always served quickly and it’s good portion sizes. Their fish and chunky chips are especially yummy.

We met friends at Bosham Inn last evening (16 Oct 2023). We have been there previously several times because the menu is excellent, setting and atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable, and staff are friendly, professional and amazing. Sheila served us last evening. She was very good and polite too, and also the gentleman who showed us to our table and was serving too. Thank you to the Bosham Inn and your wonderful staff, and brilliant Chef. The food is delicious and great value for money.

I dined at the Bosham this evening enjoying the excellent Orange Parfait followed by an equally delicious Fish & Chip main. The service was absolutely superb, incredibly attentive & great conversation. I was served by the extremely artistic, articulate & charming Sophie. Ask about her Art. Will definitely return.

Not the best food, my dinner was overcooked, the chicken was very chewy, bacon was cremated, I left half of it. Very small portions. Puddings were nice. Service is very slow, it took two and half hours for lunch, we waited nearly an hour for our main course. Would not go back.

We met friends, who were holidaying in the area, for lunch and since they have a dog we ate in the bar area. This was perfect and relaxed and a nice touch for dog owners. Our food was good, everyone liked what they had chosen, though our waitress was lacking in any social graces, with “What do you want.” This didn’t spoil our meal since the person at the bar was excellent and friendly, but I’d like the server at least to be interested and polite. However, we have been here many times over the years and know that this is not the norm. Having eaten in many local pubs and restaurants, the Bosham Inn is one we will return to for relaxed and reasonably priced pub grub.
