We called in The Foundry when we got off the train,Had A drink,Then we did some shopping. We called in again before we caught the train back.It advertised outside that It served coffee and it had a nice beer garden. We asked for 1 coffee(3 of the others wanted a cold drink)We got told they don't serve It after 5,,It was 5.30.We went to sit outside,Every table had an ashtray on.We are non smokers So I Didn't appreciate sitting near smokers,So we had to go inside.I don't think I will call again

Apart from the few worn chairs, its amazing. Good beer, very nice staff. Good place to watch sports. Good place in general to go and have a pint.

It's a good pub all around. Great outdoor area to sit in summer or winter as they have heaters round some tables. Staff are always friendly and prices are about average. My only downside to this pub are the toilets, a lot of the doors in the women's don't close or are broken. I have heard the men's are not too much nicer either but I cannot confirm that.

Came here as tourist. After not a minute after the entry a woman, i think it was the security or something like that, mobbed me very harsh to take off my hat. I didn‘t understand why, but i did it. As i took a look around i saw some other guests wearing a hat too. So i searched in the internet and on the lowest point of the website i noticed that in here rules a No-Hat-Policy. That’s okay and i had respect it if i had known that. But strange for me, why was i the only guy who has to take off his head and the other ones not? After leaving the pub, i searched for something with this restriction on the entry but there was nothing. As i already said, it‘s okay if there is this policy, but in first there was no restriction on the door and the security could say that friendly. That‘s not the english hospitality i‘m accustomed. I will never come again to this place and i don‘t recommend this pub at all to any tourist.

Fun fact: you can connect to their WiFi, and cast to some of the TVs dotted around. They appear to have some of them set up on their public network. I would suggest not using this information due anything nefarious though.

First visit to Chichester and came to this pub as we got off the train and had a few drinks. Came back on the Sunday and had the Sunday roast, we had lamb and slow roasted beef which was amazing. Lovely beer garden and staff 😊

8th of June 2024 review gave a second chance for this venue given my terrible experience before. Security guard stopped me claiming that I was kicked out of this place before yet I probably been to this venue 6 times if that. Never been kicked out of any place ever in my life. He also did not give me a chance to speak at all and to explain myself when I shouldn't even have to. Moreover when I explain the situation the manager no apology nothing. Original review May 2023 How disturbed is this place or Health and Safety policies gone OTTTTttt if venue needs 3 security peeps at 8pm in the evening. And for customers to have face visible to their CCTV and security cameras upon entry and hats removed even for ladies at all the times. Staff can not be bothered to serve you. #wierdone

Didn’t try the food. Drinks are normal price. Positive: next to starion. Nice to have one drink before getting back home on the train. Negative: costumer service is poor, music is great if you are a kid in your teens. There seems to be a lot of kids in the afternoon. I changed from 2 to 3 stars because of potential and tbh it’s not for me but I’m sure lots of kids like it so if you are under 25 go for it and ignore the costumer service

Great pub right next to the railway station. Pubs like that often attract a dodgy crowd but The Foundry seems really relaxed and friendly with nice decor too. Recommended.

Title: Discrimination and Unprofessionalism Review: I recently visited the foundry and unfortunately had an extremely disappointing experience. Upon entering, I was immediately subjected to discrimination for simply wearing a hat. The staff's attitude towards me was unwelcoming and hostile, making me feel uncomfortable throughout my time there. Additionally, the atmosphere was tainted by their unprofessional behavior. Furthermore, the lack of empathy and understanding towards my personal circumstances, such as my hair loss, only added to the negative experience. It's disheartening to be treated with such disrespect in a place that should be inclusive and accommodating to all patrons. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment if you value respect and professionalism. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, and it's unfortunate that the foundry fails to uphold these basic principles.

The most disgusting filthiest place I've ever been in. Staff don't care and are so slow at serving. Tables are left covered with empty glasses and bottles, also soaked with spilt drinks. The toilets are a swimming pool of piss and god knows what! How this place is allowed to operate is beyond me! Would of given it 0 stars if I could.

Dreadful place. Unprofessional bar staff. I think it was the owner outside taking photos of cars parked,which is fair enough,but your attitude should change. No hat policy?? Wise up. I have alopecia but still asked by a zero personality bar person to remove my hat???? Is this an Irish pub? At least get the flag colour right!! 😄 an Italian flag not Irish! The tables are wobbly also. Never again. Worst pint of Guinness also. Poured like lager. I wonder who is the landlord? Because with this type of behaviour, hands will change. Once again,avoid!!!

I bought a double vodka orange for the drink to be spilt and had to repay for a drink that got spilt that wasn’t my fault. The manager of the pub was very rude towards me and was very confrontational and made me (the customer) feel very uncomfortable with the situation and a solution was not met, which management in any department should be able to be deal with and they did not so I was very disappointed and upset by the treatment I received and I would not come here again.

Manager Sean definitely not a friendly one or professional by any standards. Not a very autism friendly place either. I have both ADHD and Asperger’s very eager and committed guy who knows my place and I’m an aspiring chef de partie at present. I find it impossible to read social cues as quickly as others so didn’t realise he literally didn’t care for any conversation even with an AD out saying “Staff Wanted” he proceeded to say he had no jobs After being denied a glass of water by my former finally sacked 2nd boss of smith and western the previous one was amazing I was expected to miss my last train for effect and entertainment and manipulation scaremongering tactics as we all became aware of Phillip Ericksons predatory past and court case for the death of Bethany skinner. He did everything to belittle anyone who learned of his sick behaviour and her drowning and His former butlins lifeguard role and manipulation of Bethany before her death. I was desperate to leave my former job I came here just past midnight to ask for a glass of water and was told I knew I was barred when I was never informed met with a terrade of abuse and accused of harassment. But anyway Sean gave me a terrade of abuse and openly yelled I wouldn’t give you a job anyway on the street gone midnight with scores of people around based on the fact he could clearly tell I’m autistic anyway and illegally couldn’t picture himself wanting an autistic employee especially me. He thought this would destroy me but it hasnt in the slightest. Originally I assumed he mistook me for someone else he previously ejected due to a busy night and tried to approach him a good month later but the same abuse followed yet again with him happy to try humiliate me on the street It’s a good job I’ve been accepted into fullers and been offered 2 apprenticeships in the last 16 months and my colleges feel like family. I live in the pub too with a beautiful room and lots of privacy to focus on guitar and saxophone and hobbies and I’m off a horrible council estate finally and almost ready to get on the property ladder so I’m not doing too bad for an autistic self I’ll just leave this here

Seriously poor service here, the staff really do lack basic people skills and i recommend to them that they move on to a job with zero contact with the public. They are more interested in huddling together in a corner of the bar looking at there phones or flirting with there mates than doing there job!! When you do get served, you are made to feel extremely unwelcome, no smiles, no manners, then the card reader just shoved in your face!!!! No hat policy is a joke!!! This pub is in a great location and could be amazing but aslong as they keep employing childish teenagers to work here its always going to be a very unpleasant place to visit.

Nice pub. Just out side Chichester train station. Make it your stop before going shopping. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

I did just get charged twice for my drink and when I showed them proof they said I did not 🥹 roasted. New years ruined 🤪 (£14 on a pint)

As some reviews have mentioned, I also got charged twice for my drink! Even though I showed the bar staff proof of the double charge, they said that I had only been charged once, which wasn’t true. I understand that mistakes happen but having shown proof I don’t believe this to be acceptable.

Very nice pub. Down by the station, we stopped in for a swift half before taking the train. Friendly, spacious, popular with locals. We didn't eat, but many others did, and the food was obviously very tasty, large portions too.

Just awful, I came in her Saturday night with some friends. There were many people that had been over served and were falling down drunk all over the place, drug deals happening In plain sight, but the worst thing by far was the gents toilets. A litrally river of piss flowing across the door, no lock on the toilet door, people throwing up in the urinals and sinks, on the plus side the beer garden was ok.

Pooped in for a couple of drinks after Fontwell, lovely warm welcome from the 2 ladies behind the bar. Lovely atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks. Hopefully see you again soon 🐎🥃🥂

Ordered food. Was worse than eating at wetherspoons. Gravy on sausage and mash was so watery it was like instant gravy made with water. Burgers were so overcooked ot was like a tough piece of leather. Staff too busy chatting to serve in decent time. Ordered mulled wine and took 20 minutes to arrive. Had to go ask at the bar twice where it was. First and kast visit to this pub

We came in for lunch today. The size of the meals was very impressive and very tasty. There was a very nice atmosphere. I would like to say how very helpful, friendly and conscientious Zac was, thanks Zac 😊

We decided to go for a "Steak Night" while our kitchen is being installed. Well, we are so glad we went and we'll be back. The steak was succulent, tender, tasty and cooked as we requested 😋 We often go into this pub for a drink, Tayto Crisps and Irish sports as it is local to us and it's a friendly, clean, social pub. Next to the railway station and bus depot so worth the journey or park nearby. Just try it and you'll realise what you've been missing.

Went for Steak and Ribs night and we are so glad we did. The food was delicious, cooked as requested and fairly priced. The steak was succulent. We go to this pub regularly as near it's where we live but this was our first meal there and we will be back for more It's a friendly Irish pub, good beers and Tayto crisps. Lots of large screens for sport and good customer service. The Foundry is close to the railway station, bus depot, a carpark and the city centre. There is also a large beer garden at the back, Sunday Roasts are popular.

Great atmosphere for watching the football. Food was OK. Friendly staff. Good outdoor covered garden space.

A party of 4 visited last Sunday to mainly watch the North London Derby. The Staff were Friendly & the Roast was good value. Had a selection of 3 Real Ales.

Very poor service.I was waiting for the bartender but she went and served her friends first who just got there.All the staff in this pub were arrogant,rude,bossy and bunch of rascists.

Coded toilets...beer prices change everytime...could be so much better

It is an average pub, nothing surprising nothing disappointing. I guess it would be good to watch a game, the service is decent and it is great for waiting if your train is delayed or gets cancelled (just 2mins from station).

We came in today 3.9.23,no roast meal. The food is awful, my mashed potatoes came out of a box, and my partner saw the girl who served him pocket money from the till when it was open. We won't be coming back

Interesting when told by bar staff that there was a no hat policy, honestly. A middle aged woman in a straw sun hat walking into pub from quite a hot day yesterday 23/08/23 at lunchtime. Can understand baseball caps at evening times. We won’t be back as it seemed unfriendly place to visit.

Popped in for a Diet Coke before catching a train. Totally empty venue. I asked for a pint of Diet Coke with no ice and the barman said ‘£3.90 please’…?! £3.90??? I’ll leave the review there.

Incredibly expensive for what it is… My girlfriend was adamant that only a week ago an aperol was 7 pounds and now it’s gone up to 10.80. Since I live in central london I am quite surprised by this as even bars there I cheaper. The man behind the bar that served us was also quite strange but must say the beer garden is lovely :)

Very nice food but we were chsrged £7.40 for 2 coffees. 1 Latte and one simple black coffee. Didnt realise till home that this really was overcharged.

Happened across this pub, and it's an absolute gem. A busy, lively space indoors with a wonderful outdoor garden. The bar staff are 'on it' , paying close attention to a crowded bar and making sure everyone is served in turn, thus generating plenty of revenue for an ideally placed pub for goodwood racecourse. Shout out to Maddie who worked particularly hard on a busy shift filled with race goers before and after. A perfect venue for a drink prior to the races, and a party till 3am.

I'm just wondering if you do a big group? I'm deaf person and I wondering if you will have like deaf group visiting once every 3 months or something like that to get together to catch up cos it's big pub, I would like to know if it's yes or no? Xx

Rudest door staff I ever came across. Commenting on fashion sense of clients coming in to the pub! If you must have security on the door Thursday lunchtime at least get a professional. Decided not to eat. Very unwelcoming!

Stopped in at the The Foundry while waiiting for a train from Chichester station. Excellent ale and an excellent fish finger ciabatta snack that was served promptly. I highly recommend this pub.

This pub was highlighted to us on our recent visit to Goodwood FOS. Beer prices initially were in line with city prices back home, but this where it ends. We noted as time went on, the prices went up. Yep. For your hospitality, after 7pm, all drinks go up by 50p every half hour you stay in here. For example, if you buy a pint of Madri at 18.50pm at £5.70, by 10pm, you will pay £9.20. Yikes!!! Wetherspoons however keep their pints same price all day and a pint of beer, lager and cider £7.20 for all 3 inclusive. Make up your own mind, but we will not be back to the Foundry.

Very good sports pub with multiple TV screens. Good range of beers, wines and spirits. Food menu not extensive but good pub grub that's well presented and tasty. Located next to train and bus stations so good place to drink/eat if using public transport. Good garden area

Was having a great night until a team member decided that I was in her way while she was trying to close part of the garden! Spoke with attitude and is aggressive! First time. Have been out for a while and this will be the last time I come here! If this is the service you’re looking! Then good luck for the future of your business

Amazing pub with friendly and professional team. Good food reasonably priced. Andrew was very helpful and made my friend’s birthday very special by playing happy birthday song during cake cutting. Highly recommended!

Since when have pubs started asking £2,50 to use the loo. I thought the guy behind the bar was joking. I hope you never have people who need to clean their stoma bags coming in.

Usually go here to drink always good. Ordered food today and it was disgusting. £8 calamari - frozen like mushy onion rings. £8 chicken goujons - chicken nuggets. Chewy nachos and burned fatty chicken wings. All frozen icelands party food. Awful

The Foundry is our usual stop en route to Goodwood. Normally not a problem. However on this occasion we were made aware by a regular of two tier pricing and overcharging. The regular was charged £5.75 for a Larger we were charged £6.75, a glass of wine £9.50 same wine and size someone else was charged £7.50. Also one of friends was charged £14.20 for a single gin and tonic, she questioned the price but was told that's what it is. We later found out it should of been £8.20!!!! The regular told us the pub over charges race goers all the time. Shocking!!!! Staff and especially the manager were very rude, for some reason wanted to serve regulars rather then in order of who was waiting. When we questioned the manager regarding the prices he said he would have a look but disappeared after 10 minutes we went looking for him and found him behind the bar serving other people. Asked why he did not finish dealing with our issue first just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Terrible customer service. I will be taking this up with the brewery and the licencing authority - Shame on you, and visitors please be aware and check what you have been charged.

Honestly I am from Brighton and everyone knows Brighton it’s the best place for nightlife I have been today to that bar as I was in Goodwood and 1 of the girls behind the bar told me off and did say horrible words I did never expect as customer want have nice night to hear this just because I did more 2 of the glass out the way so I can get my glass honestly the worst place I do never recommend and sooo overpriced £6.50 for vodka unbelievable honestly the worst experience

Rude security, asking my finance to take the hat off because of ‘cctv policy’. Basically making and assumption that we are a criminal couple or what? No customers at the pub, and their are asking others to leave because of their ego-centric rules, out-dated bad customer service

Good atmosphere, with good music a large dance floor area, unfortunately the toilets we unhygienic both male and female, also to much recreational drugs being used within the toilet area, (sniff, sniff)

Random visit with time to spare for college parent evening. Dont mind paying a little over the odds for a drink but even though I had a £20 note out and on view, the online payment machine was thrust at me with no discussion and just left as drink was poured. Having paid approx £12 for a large spirit, you would expect at least a working lock on a toilet door especially as door about 5 feet away from seat. 2 cubicles neither with lock. I wont be rushing back.

Went into this pub looks nice, popped into the ladies loo, my god what an absolute discrace, first the stench of sewage was eye watering, every door didn't lock and there was a mess in every cubicle. I left your pub without buying a drink and definitely wouldn't eat here. Posted by my wife Kerry

Unpleasant experience- lone older woman, 530pm on a cold windy day, just popped in for a drink while waiting for a bus. Told rather curtly to remove my hat due to "policy". For the record, it was a knitted beanie, no chance of causing offence. It made me uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Very racist landlord. Refuse to serve travellers, A few travellers went in and tried to order food, were told the kitchen had ‘ran out of gas’. Overheard a member of staff telling other customers to ‘give it ten minutes’ and then ordered food. The staff behind the bar flat out told them they don’t agree with the decision to not serve travellers but there is nothing they can do about it.

Came to visit Chichester to have a wander round with partner and dog, we thought we would pop in for a quick drink whilst we wait for the next train. On entry, we were immediately made to feel inadequate due to coming through the incorrect entrance (no notice to say it was no entry but we were made to feel bad anyway), we shook that off but when ordering us both a beverage I was told to take my hat off (in front of other customers)?! I questioned this following the pouring rain all day to be told they had a ‘no hat policy’ due to a drug/CCTV issue. This ‘policy’ is highly discriminatory, giving an assumption that I don’t have a religious or medical reason etc for wearing a hat in the first place. On a quiet Tuesday afternoon with only a handful of other customers providing business, I find this highly unprofessional and unwelcoming, particularly so close to a transport link.

I have been into this place regularly during the day for football games and always had a nice experience. However tonight I was declined entry because of a dress code that isn’t advertised anywhere… this is a pub in Chichester… it’s not legally a night club and every other venue in chi is happy to let you in no matter what your wearing. It seems wrong to dress people by what they’re wearing for a simple pub with music. It’s not the security guys fault they’re just following guides of upper management and they feel bad doing it too because it’s wrong in this day and age. Not a good experience to be honest.

Last rated by me 4 years ago! Visited again last Saturday lunchtime. Great service and atmosphere and beer selection. Convenient for the train station while waiting for the next train home, but he prepared to make that the next one!

Had some drinks here Saturday afternoon. Friendly staff. Good if you like sport, but quieter areas if not.

Pub manager serving did not get order. Correct due to not hearing correctly music to loud pub manager telling female member of staff off while serving security staff searching people no more than 6 feet away from people sat down felt they could have an area for that sort of thing not a great experiance made me wonder what else is not right

Had two beers, went to the bathroom and the bouncers kicked the door and demanded to search me. I've been to bars all over the planet, never experienced anything like that...

Used to love the live band nights so we frequently visited on Saturday nights especially as it was very mixed ages. Not sure if under new management but poorly managed. Pre booked a reserved seating area for group of 15 - 20 persons for 50th Birthday Celebrations. When we arrived it was taken so went to another seating area. Spoke with manager who eventually sorted it. Spent ALOT of money in there but a member of our group was targeted twice in the toilets by security for no apparent reason and asked to leave with no evidence or any proof. Very disappointing especially when you see couples/groups walking into the cubicles and coming out with the toilet seats down 🤔 We won't be be going again as it was full of youngsters getting a quick fix. BEST TO AVOID THIS PLACE.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Absolutely desgraceful!! Man in my 50's celebrating wife's birthday with friends , targeted twice in toilets by child security for some made up unfounded drug's accusation, then when challenged on evidence asked to leave. We had a large party but will go elsewhere in future. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Arrived dressed in outdoor gear as bloody freezing out, family member was wearing a hat. Remained in pub drinking, being served and smoking outside to then be tackled on the dance floor for him to remove his hat. Told it was policy but no advert telling people this. We weren't causing any trouble and when questioned why we had been allowed in with hat and stayed for over 1 hour were we now being told now. Won't be visiting again whch is a shame

Somehow 18year olds get in even though they have challenge 25 in place at the doors.

It's not too bad. Call me old and boring but it was much better when it was the Globe and had pool tables and good ale. Now due to Chichesters dwindling places to drink out and boogie it's now become the hub for people off their nut to gather. The last time I went it was absolutely rammed in there and edgy to say the least.
