Madame Posh in Windsor and Maidenhead

As it was closed for a long time due to renovations, we decided to pop in for a cup of tea and a treat, however we were very disappointed. We had to wait for a very long time, staff was not of the nicest, and served scone with no jam or clotted cream (had to request it). The décor is nice and the atmosphere decent, but feels like a tourist trap.

We visited for my daughters baby shower today. We had our own area downstairs which has a lift if needed to get down. Everything tasted amazing, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Had a wonderful afternoon and thoroughly recommend. Thankyou

Chose this spot because paninis etc on counter looked tasty & we just wanted a light lunch. Staff were friendly but not the best service - it was one guy's first shift so will let him off the hook. Waited a long time for our very simple order of paninis. When these arrived it was a very basic serving of panini only, no garnish. One didn't arrive (despite double checking that waitress had taken order right) until the rest of the party had almost finished eating. We were offered a complimentary glass of prosecco (Mothers Day weekend) which was a nice touch but we really just wanted to be on our way. We did feel slightly pressured into accepting & drinking it.

We came for afternoon tea - food was not worth the price, drinks took forever to come, were cold and curdled! Our waitress was lovely, as were all staff however they were running around clearly unable to cope with the demand. She was clearly as upset as the customers. Clearly poor management !!

Food was cold. Egg yolks were anaemic Muffins still freezing cold in the middle, not toasted. Service attractions. Waitress not interested.

Visited today for some early lunch and after placing our order for food and drinks, the waiter came back to say they do not have decaffeinated coffee. As the menus had already been taken away I just ordered a tea with soya milk. When we got the bill we were charged an extra 60p for soya milk, when I questioned it the staff member said it’s more expensive. I pointed out that this was not made clear to me when I changed my order for tea. The staff member proceeded to bring the menu to me and show the extra charge for soya milk, I said okay so it’s on the menu but at the time of changing my order the menu was not shown to me so the waiter should have highlighted the extra charge. The staff member didn’t seem to really care and guess what we still got charged the 60p. In the grand scheme of things it’s 60p but surely in light of what I’d said it should have been removed. This is the first place where I’ve had tea and ordered soya milk that I’ve been charged extra for soya - wow. Overpriced and it’s not that amazing. Won’t be going there again especially as there’s so many other great places to eat in Windsor.

This place gives people bad service I was disgusting by it One of the girls working who were in their own clothes may I add very rude and was giving us looks . I would not recommend anyone coming here the food wasn’t that great as well .

Took my mum for coffee and a late breakfast and both were delicious! They also had samples of cake to try which we couldn’t resist though we were too full from breakfast to have a larger piece - will save that for another time!

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch at Madam Posh Windsor… I was very excited to see how they transformed the place, beautifully done. I was very impressed with the attention to detail, on service, down to my fantastic food. I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner of this beautiful place, very professional lady in catering, providing fresh food every day, and amazing cakes. Great experience, can’t wait to return.keep up the great work. Well Done Madam Posh.

Wanted to treat myself to breakfast, was pleased they offered gluten free bread, ordered avocado on toast with poached eggs, one egg was raw, no comment from waitress, told waiter and manager, no discount offered or apology. Not a great start for a new year.

I am so sad to be posting this, as we were really looking forward to tea and cakes here. There really is nothing posh about this place at all. A dirty floor with spilled drinks greeted us where we were seated. Avoid the Victoria Sponge at all costs...£5.95 for a small slice that was so dry. Even the kids said it was the worst cake they'd ever had :-( I liked the look of the lemon & poppyseed cake but they warned me against it unless I was vegan,they said its very dry because its dairy free?? So I went for the lemon & poppyseed cupcake instead which they said should taste better! Unfortunately it didn't. I left 2/3 of it. I cannot remember ever leaving a cake before.. (lol) ..but this was truly awful. Just tasted stale. My local garden centre cafe is 100 times better than this place. Seriously, avoid!! I did mention when paying how disappointing the cakes were. They said they'd pass the comments on....hmmmm.

Visited here the beginning of December with friends. The restaurants decor was outstanding and very welcoming to look at drawing us in to want to sit and eat/drink. However the staff do NOT have a clue! Breakfast was brought up from the kitchen minus the sausages and bacon and lots of talks amongst the staff and the breakfast had to be taken down again, leaving my toast and beans to go cold. One member of staff in particular blatantly huffed in front of us as it was too much hassle to serve us, and appeared to not want to be at work this day. She was the one with lots of piercings to her face and a bull ring through the nose. She seriously needs to be put onto a customer relations course, as should not be serving the general public. The till wasn’t working correctly and staff didn’t have a clue to questions we asked on food. Staff were young so possibly In training but to make the venue a little gold mine you need to employ waiters/waitress’s with experience and knowledge. Will not be hurrying back here! Better places to eat and cheaper. Such a shame as the venue does look welcoming but is just a shambles and badly run.

We hired out the basement of Madame Posh for a baby shower and I have to say the venue was brilliant. The staff were so friendly and attentive, even though they were very busy. The food and cakes were delicious. They even let us stick decorations all over the place! It's a really lovely afternoon and I'd highly recommend a visit.

The food was delicious. The service was impeccable and professional. I can’t say enough about the adorable decor, very feminine, tasteful but not over the top. By the way, everything was immaculate. Escape Windsor Castle, and walk the outside village. The feel is wonderful. The shop I enjoyed dropping in on most was Madame Posh. Overly elegant high tea joint, you get excellent treats, in a calm sweet atmosphere. A nice little village on the small end of the Thames.

Having walked past the window of Madame Posh a couple of years prior, it has been a lifelong goal to revisit the place and actually partake of the nourishment within.

I know macarons aren’t cheap but £3 per macaron is excessive. French macarons are significantly better and for this price I could’ve bought 3 in Marks and Spencers just next door. The atmosphere is dreamy though and very professional

My wife and I visited again as it's our favourite place to eat in windsor. We have had breakfast a few times and wanted to try the afternoon tea, we are glad we did as it's up there with the best we have had. Good value for money. Would recommend

This place has been going downhill since it opened a few years back. The cake selection and quality was by far superior to what it is today. They have stopped selling the home decor stuff and added more tables. The staff doesn’t know the difference between a cake and a tart and gives you an attitude when they’re wrong. There’s no pastry menu available so you have to go to the window and pick what you want from what’s displayed. Tea came 10 minutes after we were finished with the cakes. Mountains of dirty dishes on the counter next to piles of clean plates. This was my last attempt to an afternoon tea at Madame (not so) Posh.

I visited this breakfast/tea place for a friend's birthday celebration. I ordered salmon and toast with avocado. It was ok. The unsalted butter was good, it went well with a complementary toast which was given. I enjoyed the jam. The breakfast was ok, it's not particularly heavy. The ambience is great for taking photos.

England as we know is known for their afternoon tea, didn't think we would have a bad experience after visiting Windsor. Would not recommend this place at all. The afternoon tea is not good at all. The pastries don't look fresh and definitely lacking in flavor. While the scones are hot when it was served; it was hard and crumbled when cut into. The service is good though. They need to revamp the menu or do something to its flavors. Not worth the $25/person afternoon tea.

I visited the place with my partner for breakfast, We ordered egg florintine and omelette. The food was excellent. The manager Pradeep was very friendly not only with us but also with the other guests around. The place was very clean and tidy. I surely recommend this place and will come back again.

Awful. Grubby tables outside. Clueless staff. Overheard them tell a table of 7 to clear it themselves if they wanted to sit there because the staff were too busy! Amazingly - they did. Waited 15 mins to be brought a tea and cake (the wrong cake) Why would the staff deliver food then wander back inside with an empty tray ignoring dirty tables?

This place is to avoid by all means. Service was shockingly incompetent and badly organised. The toilets were disgusting and the decoration was grotesque.

The most amazing visit to Windsor because of this amazing afternoon tea. Greeted by the lovely manager Lewis who seated us and promptly took our order. I have visited madame posh today to have a coffee and cake as i walk in to request a table i have been asked by a lady at the door what im here for ?? as soon as I said im having coffee and cake she replied that if i don't take lunch im not welcome woww i was shok as she clearly refused serving us how rude is that and she wasn't even sorry about it i assumed she is the manager is that how u thought her how run a business what a shame

I am shocked by the adverse reactions to this place. Myself and my husband went for afternoon tea and can not fault the food or the service.

Well I would not even give this establishment 1 star!! On Sunday 23rd I arranged for my little niece birthday and family at madam posh, however one of my little nephew was crying and my niece ass trying to settle him. The manager came over to me and requested that we keep quiet! I was quite shocked and taken back we were trying to settle my little nephew when after 5 minutes manager came again she then proceeded to inform me that we must leave this was not appropriate for kids and should not consider eating in madam posh she then told us other customers were complaining! At this point my family and I got up to leave as we were made to feel completely outcasts and she practically marched us out!!! What a horrible manager no people skills at all!! Also menu was not great the staff were being unhelpful already this was a ploy to make us leave too!! I will never be coming back and anyone with kids should reconsider this overrated place! You obviously know how to ruin a little girls birthday!!!! Absolutely sheer nastiness!!! Well as it happened blessing in disguise we found Lebanese nights that were happy to accommodate us and the service was just impeccable and food was amazing, am glad now we did not stay in this horrible madam posh! Your service your hosting & your food does not even compare to Lebanese night! I hope this deters others from coming to your establishment!!!! I will be posting this on all my social media accounts and informed all my family and friends what despicable behaviour we suffered!!!! I would even go as far as saying racist!!!!

We went there on Thursday,so as a weekday and not a weekend,we managed to get a table without any advanced booking.

We were looking forward to celebrating our nieces birthday with afternoon tea and lunch at Madam Posh one sunday afternoon. However, once we arrived and were eventually seated my 7 month old baby stated to cry. In trying to settle him, the manager named Sarah/ Sara walked over and asked us to leave as she said the premises were not an appriate place for a baby. There was no warning or empathy shown and she quite clearly admitted when questioned that this establishment is not baby friendly. We were told to leave which was very embarrassing and left us with no alternative plans for my nieces birthday. This company clearly do not pride themselves on good customer service and are willing to adopt a management style which encourages discrimination. Overall, MADAM POSH,there was nothing Posh about your very basic menu and management style. Would never visit again, a few floral decorations can not disguise your tasteless company ethics and non existent customer service. Absolute disgrace. However, lucky for us we managed to find ourselves a lovely restaurant nearby (Lebenese Nights) who happily accomadated us with amazing customer service and food to die for. So,any potential customers looking for an actual "POSH" experience head over there instead. Guaranteed not to be disappointed with their amazing menu, entertainment and courteous approach.

Thought we’d try this place whilst visiting Ascot, we were tempted by the cakes in the window and went inside. We ordered two Liquor coffees and two cakes, the cakes were nice but the coffee was awful, in used to liquor coffees made properly with fresh double cream, these were made with tinned aerosol cream so did not float, just all blended.

First we walk in and noticed there is price tags on literally everything in the place making it look cheap and tacky. We chose to overlook this but next we got the most awful waitress that did not smile once was busy having a chat with another waiter across the room whilst taking out order, ended up taking the order wrong and then had the cheek to blame us for it! The next guy bought out the dirtiest glass i have ever seen in my life it was revolting. I then ordered some sorbet which after using proper cutlery for everything was brought out with a god awful plastic spoon and glass bowl ... because that makes sense. Paid £3.50 for loose leaf tea expecting something really nice. What turned up was a tea pot that didn’t look like it had been polished since the 15th century with bloody twining’s tea bags in it. What an absolute disappointment!

I visited with my sister for a late light lunch on a Tuesday. I have visited Windsor many times and walked past, dismissing it as I don’t particularly like fancy cakes. My sister was feeling cold and fancied soup so we were looking for that. Reluctantly I agreed to enter and was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted and shown to a nice table, it was clean and set ready for use. It wasn’t very busy but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The staff were attentive and friendly. I had a bacon and brie baguette and it was delicious. The mushroom soup was reported to be very tasty and tasted homemade. The only negative was the expected poppyseed roll with the soup had been substituted by a brioche and a second substitution was brown bread.

Nine of us had afternoon tea and it was of mixed quality. The savoury option was Egg Mayo, Chicken Mayo, Prawn Mayo and Salmon and Cream Cheese, one small roll of each between two. For the price could they offer a wider selection, roast beef with horseradish cream even a cheddar and chutney. Not everyone enjoys fish or that much mayo.

We had coffee and cake, which was nice but nothing special. The cafe wasn't very busy but the staff managed to forget about us! The ambiance is quite pleasant and a little different, but it needs a good clean.

30 minutes waiting to order. They don’t have enough waiters and waitresses. Our table was dirty and it wasn’t prepare. Dirty dishes and glasses. The bathroom was awful. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Don’t ruin your day and waste your time and money.

Called in for a late lunch after a visit t the castle.

I had time enough to look at how they are organised, and it's chaos. Chaos making drinks; chaos serving customers. I've never seen such bad coordination. The place was full, and everyone was having hot drinks and cakes. How is it possible that couldn't cope with such simple requests? At the end, suddenly we receive 1 water. No glass. We stood up to get a glass and we get one that was dirty. 5 mins later the scones come in, 5 mins later the tea. I will come back when management decides to organise themselves. Worst service ever. Sorry guys I have to put such a bad review, but you have the worst customer service I ever had in my life.

Finished our day in Windsor on a high. Came in for tea and cakes and they were lovely. Music was a bit jazzy (literally), but the staff were warm and friendly and the cakes were delicious.

Had come to Windsor for a girls weekend and the place looked really interesting with a icing wedding dress in the window so we thought we would have breakfast here instead of the hotel. First it was not explained that if you had the full English then the coffee and orange was included in the price which we had to ask. There was 10 of us and l don’t think they could cope with a large group having cooked food. Our orders seem to come out and some of were not correct even though we had asked for certain things which were not difficult. Some of us thought the food was fine but personally l thought this was one of the worse breakfasts out l have ever had and l eat out a lot. The plate was cold, poached eggs were hard and tasted funny and cold,very small chopped up mushrooms which were dripping in oil, the bacon was folded over and not cooked, even the toast was burnt on one side and not cooked on other. No one came over and asked how our food was. If l had not been in a big group l would have complained. I think they should stick to selling cakes (which l was amazed were all out uncovered S you walked into shop)and not do breakfasts.

Went in here as the wife had seen it on Instagram, waited a long time for ordering then asked for a glass of water twice but never arrived. Food was ok but that was it. Cabinets had a film of dust on too. You need to get more organised waiting staff , no one seemed to have designated areas and it showed. In the end when we eventually got the bill, we took it up to the counter to pay otherwise I'd think we'd still be in there an hour later. Good job they didn't ask for a tip or include service charge otherwise I would have asked for it to be taken straight off.

Great place and great food. But service is absolutely dreadful. Drinks and food are taking forever. I would have had many drinks within the time I was waiting. Not only you wait forever, when drinks/food come they come separately off others.

I recently attended an afternoon tea baby shower at the venue. What a lovely place to hold it. The staff were attentive and could not do enough for us. The food was fresh and the tea and coffee hot. My favourite cake was the toffee eclair. Will be back for the gin afternoon tea.

Recommended to go to this place for a cream tea. The first page of the menu showed a full colour picture of a decent looking ‘afternoon tea’ with a cracking price of £8 or so, (we presumed per head). We’d only gone in for a cream tea, but who could refuse such an offer? When we placed the order (for consumption outside, fortunately) we were asked to pay a great deal more than the expected £16! Aparrently lots of people get confused by this appallingly laid out menu - presumably most whom eat indoors only find out when they have to pay at the end!

I entered to buy a pastry, not obvious how to proceed, no one willing to help finally I approached a barista and he charged me saying that my pastry will be served shortly, I went to the toilet in the mean time, when back pastry was no where, I asked again and the small pastry was put in a very big box, no smaller boxes available when most pastries and cakes are small! No one cares about anything

Our hotel receptionist recommended Madame Posh to us, we were pleasantly surprised by the bright eye catching decor.

One word: Instagram! Great place for Instagram worthy fun if that’s your main motivator. Beautiful decor, typical Posh British Vibes. Lots of corners for great shots. Elegant sofas. Interesting decoration pieces. Flowers and well appointed paintings.

This restaurant is in a tourist town. It is larger than it looks, with some al fresco tables out front. It has great potential and you are spoilt for choice. However, it seemed to have management/staff issues and in consequence service suffers.

We stopped by this evening, after our duck tour. The staff were fantastic, the cakes were amazing, and the teas and coffees were lovely!

We stopped here for a coffee because it looked inviting and quirky. The cakes and pastries are appealing but coffee was my first choice. However, I gave in to temptation, the hot cross buns looked wonderful. I can prepare a light meal in the time it took for two coffees to arrive – 20 minutes. The bun arrived 5 minute later. Rather than oven heating it, the bun had been microwaved for far too long which resulted in a bit of a sticky, dense mass of rubbery dough. Whilst waiting for the coffees to arrive we chatted about the décor and the decorative items on sale in the shop. Sadly the sale items looked rather tired and grubby and the display shelves are in desperate need of a damn good clean. Servers were using ungloved hands to place cakes and pastries into take out boxes. A falling cup was stopped from meeting the floor by another servers foot and popped back onto the counter. This place will attract tourists because its different. Personally, I’m more interested in decent food and a clean environment and Madame Posh failed on both accounts. I won’t return – there are so many coffee houses in Windsor. This is one to avoid.

Ive been before and thought it would be a nice mother's day gift for my mother and wife. We waited atleast 20 minutes after being shown to our table from the FOH before we could get even drinks which we only got after getting up and going to ask a waiter. It was dreadful, until i asked to speak to a gentleman behind the counter who i observed how hard he was working. Without him i dread to have imagined the organisation of the place. He was good enough to have a long chat while waiting staff sorted out the order. I would be very greatful to have him as an employee. He had a calming presence and acted with style and professionalism. I believe his name was Teejan? Forgive the spelling if incorrect. Along with him after the problem was resolved, we were served very kindly and promptly by a lady called Irene, again name spelling may be wrong, please forgive me. Without meeting those 2 members of staff, i would never go back. They are what may have saved me from never spending my money there again. There wasnt even a tea bag in our pot of tea... mindblowing! The staff MUST BE recognized for their good work. Well done guys thank you to you alone.

We visited today and didn’t have the greatest experience. Our order had unfortunately not been input and it took us to chase after 30 mins before they even realised. We then had to chase again for our drinks which they initially got wrong and had to take again!! Plenty of apologies but not great service. The place was full and the staff just seemed to be running around in circles in an uncontrolled way. No sence of order or management. I’m sure the staff were trying their best but in the absence of any good management and control it was simply chaotic and frustrating . Shame as the food was ok . Lesson is , don’t go when they are busy or until they get some better controls / training in place .

It was Mother’s Day, we didn’t book but we were able to get a table for 3. The front of house said they were busy (the place was empty) and there was about a 10min delay in food.. which isn’t bad..

I visited for an off the cuff last minute visit with friends and a toddler. The venue was beautiful with amazing looking cakes and a vast menu. I has brought a toddler with me who was indecisive as to what flavour icecream he wanted, so staff let him have a sample of the 2 flavours he liked, which made it much easier for him to choose. The manager, Muhammad Asad, was very helpful, polite and friendly, and wanted to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of our party, including the child - that's a big win in my book. Staff performed check backs which felt genuine, and the cream tea I opted for was just divine! I highly recommend this as a place to relax and enjoy a spot of tea and amazing cakes.

After having lunch elsewhere in Windsor my husband and I thought we would go to Madame Posh for coffee and cake. The staff did not seem happy or friendly. We were shown to our table and ordered a small latte a single espresso and a salted caramel eclair. The cafe was not at all busy. 20 minutes later we were still waiting. In the end we got up to leave. The manager did not even apologise or care. If you are looking for good service from friendly staff don't sit down here get your cake as a take away.

A quaint eaterie that exudes a high end tea shop and more.

Place is good, good atmosphere and very good and friendly staff.

We stopped there with my friend before visiting the castle. It's a nice place, with a very 'english style', with elegant old style furniture and modern colours and touch. It's very immersive.

Had to wait a while to be seated as very busy. Our order was taken fairly quickly afternoon tea arrived promptly but no plates, it was difficult to get the waiting staffs attention. The food was delicious but we expected better service. We asked for the bill twice , eventually it came.

‪We waited a looooot to get a sit and to have our food. They weren’t paying attention to us actually... but I was with a friend and the chat was so good that it didn’t bother me.‬

I visited this place with my friend who treated me for coffee and cake and it was delicious! Service was prompt and nice and coffee tasty as were the cakes which we had. I had chocolate cake and my friend cheesecake. I do recommend this place.

Thank you for the warm welcome and lovely table .. set expectations high, but the food was average at best - not as ‘homemade tasty’ as it looks .. some ‘fake’ flavours in there .. and one plate was taken away before the other. Not great - clear the table at once? Service was quick, and the waitress at the end came to take our cash payment from the table (£20 note) and said ‘do you need any change?’. Most bold ‘is this a tip?’ comment ever! We said no don’t worry as it was just a £1.50, but I do feel waiters should take the money away and return change so we then choose to leave it as we leave - not out us in the spot. Found it quite rude. Got some cool photos of the decor but won’t be returning.

Amazing with a capital A .It is a bright and cheerful place . You are greeted and shown to your seat by the most friendly front of house I have ever met . The coffee was simply the best and the cakes were as good as they looked . I have not had a better coffee and cake anywhere .My only regret is that I didn't go back for lunch and dinner. Please open on in the midlands .

Ordered a meal that had a picture on the menu. When it arrived there were lots of ingredients missing. On questioning the waiter, he sort advice from the manager who then spoke to the chef. Apparently the picture should have been removed!!!!!! The manager was apologetic. I wonder if the picture is still in n the menu
